Stopped for lunch at Cortino's Italian Restaurant for my very first time. Excellent wait staff, very friendly, attentive and courteous. Business is practicing social distancing, service was quick, prices are reasonable. Ordered Shrimp Scampi which was served with garlic bread and a salad. Everything was delicious and will certainly be returning for more. I also had desert which was outstanding...I'll let you guess what it was...

We were staying close to this restaurant. Decided to try because of the reviews. Three out of the three of us that went did not like the food. The server was very rushed like he wanted us to eat and leave asap. To start the bread that was brought to the table was cold and not baked at all. It would have probably been better baked and hot. I ordered the chicken piccata minus cappers. The chicken was cut thin and over cooked, very little pasta and the butter, garlic and lemon sauce was all butter with little flavor.

I had a delivery here today and I am so excited that I found this restaurant. My tip was a meatball and lasagna!! (My favorite food) I can honestly say this is the best I have had in a long long time. Authentic flavors . I’m originally from the Chicago area and I miss my Italian food and I will be making this a regular place to eat from now on! I highly recommend this place and will be telling everyone that I can to go!

Excellent Italian food served from the original family-owned building by owner's family. Forgot to take pictures when the food was delivered because we werre so hungry and ready to dive in! They were busy but seemed to be able to keep up with the customers. We had grilled chicken fettuccine that was so good and the leftovers were even better the next day! Also ordered the Italian feast which had chicken parmigiana, lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo. The portions were generous, although a little pricey, but had to order a dessert since we'd seen so many reviews on it. Had the Italian cream cake that had the most delicious raspberry filling and the piece was huge - plenty for the two of is to share. Did not I t affect our opinion of the food but it was a little weird to see an older woman parked at a table by thw kitchen who sat there looking at her phone, taking to-go orders and 'managing" staff from that position. There was also another table seemingly set aside for preparing tableware for future customers. Food and service is excellent but those two tables seemed to create a lesser ambiance.

If you are near Weslaco you really need to stop by Cortino's. Food is all freshly made. In two nights we ate there we always found a few gems. Patricia goes above and beyond with her service. She is on point to refill wine glasses and serves the pizza slices too. It is family run and so friendly. What I really liked is that the customers all talked together so nice. Must tries are the tiramissu, homemade blue cheese dressing. Can't say enough good things Bout this place.

Started out at the other Italian restaurant but they were short handed in the cook dept. Someone waiting said this place was good so 2 couples left to make the 8:30 close time. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiano with angle hair spaghetti and garlic butter. My husband ordered the lasagna with Italian sausage. Both came with choice of a tossed salad, Ceasars salad, or soup, and came with fresh bread. Everything is amazing. No room for dessert but it looks amazing. And some one just bought our dinner. Wow!

Hidden gem. The staff was friendly and always checked up on the table. Food came out hot and timely. Portions were good size. The food tasted good. Soup had flavor, chicken dish the chicken was tender the past a bit dry. The shrimp pasta dish was a bit watery but still good.

Best italian restaurant I've ate at in Texas. Everything about this place is wonderful and the service is amazing from the owners to the servers. Hidden gem and must go to place. Food is scrumptious and so well seasoned. I absolutely love this place and will be coming back. So affordable for the portion and GREATNESS. You can taste the love in each bite. 100 stars for sure.

Wow, excellent food with great service and I loved the environment. The combination plate was great with meat sauce is what we ordered and it's plenty to share. I had both desserts banana nut cream cake and raspberry filled cake was amazingly delicious. Note: the raspberry has coconut. Will go back next time Im visiting the area to try other menu options. I ate the dinner so no photos to add sorry. Lol

We just ate here for the first time. Oh my gosh! The food is wonderful. We have traveled extensively and this is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant we have ever eaten. On top of the excellent food, the service could not have been better. We were treated like family. Everyone is treated like family. If you haven't eaten here, you must. I really ate too much.

John, our waiter, was amazing and attentive! He’s so funny and has great energy. I disagree with past reviews about him calling him rude; if anything, others are taking it way too seriously and personally. Give this place an opportunity and support family ownership!

This was the best place to eat at. All the staff were absolutely wonderful and so friendly. They all treated us like family. The food was delicious. I would love to go back again when we visit the area next.

Had heard very positive recommendations but personal experience was otherwise. Terrible service. Asked for a glass of wine and got served a carafe and waiter disappeared for quite a while. Again asked for to go container and never got it. Once I paid the bill it was like we did not exist. Food was okay. Overall a disappointing experience.

What a fantastic place! It's off the beaten path and didn't even have a sign out front but so glad we found it. We had the shrimp scampi and the taste of Italy and both were awesome. It's obviously popular with the locals because the waitstaff seemed to know most of the customers.

Reliably tasty Italian meals. Service is excellent and friendly. Very reasonable prices and generous portions. Can be very busy during winter visitor months, but they keep things moving and are very organized.

The food is outstanding, although limited, but understandable. The "atmosphere" gets 3 stars because it looks old on the inside. I haven't been lately, but I heard it was remodeled, so I'm looking forward to visiting soon and changing that to a 5-star. If you're looking for a classic Italian dinner, this is definitely the place! This is one of Weslaco's best kept secret.

Best Italian food I've ever had!

  • 4/5 Elvic D. 1 year ago on Google
The food was great. The portions are big, the right temperature, and the flavor was just right. The service was very good - always nice and courteous. The tea served is very good, along with the complimentary bread. What I really enjoyed, however, was the mushroom soup. It was a big bowl of soup, and it was absolutely delicious. I think I preferred it over my eggplant parmigiana. I don't recall seeing a business sign displayed outside, but short of that, but just Google the location, and you'll arrive at the right location for great Italian cuisine.

Definitely a hidden gem. There are no signs or name on the building. The food was really good and the service was top notch. Very chill and relaxed atmosphere. As you drive up you can’t tell exactly what this place is or if it’s even open. Must try!

Great food. Our server was very friendly and efficient. It's a small restaurant that serves HUGE flavor!.

Without question my favorite restaurant in the valley. Mamma, Patricia, Paul and all of the staff make you feel like family. The food is second to none, and the desserts, if you have room are to die for. If you are in the valley go. You will not be disappointed.

Ate there for the 1st time. I liked the spaghetti but the Italian sausage was well done. My wife had the veal and said it was ok. We'll probably give it another try. I'm Italian and my mom knew how to cook. We like ours bread so we can dip it in olive oil and garlic. Little things.

My favorite Italian restaurant on southern Texas. If you are in the Valley this is a must. Small family owned and the deserts are made fresh daily.

Delicious all homemade food. Fresh crisp salad , homemade bread delicious red sauce and the homemade Italian sausage is delicious! The homemade Tiramisu was wonderful and a huge portion. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed dinner and I will go back.

5 stars isn't enough! Don't let the outside fool you, it is a terrific family restaurant! Great flavor to their red sauce. We have returned several times, each time greeted like an old friend. Save room for thier home made desserts... too die for!
