Giant eagle has gone down hill, all on sale items are always empty on the shelves. Head to the waterfront.

This little mall serves so many purposes. You can throw in a load of laundry, get some exercise, do your food shopping, use wifi and fuel up the car. You gotta be happy to get everything done in one trip.

Nice little plaza with many great shopping stores. It works because there is also bus service. This is an integral part of the neighborhood!

Kennywood Plaza is where you go to giant eagle. Which is a grocery store. And you can buy tickets for Kennywood park which is right over the hill from there. And there’s also other shops up there as well workout facilities, laundromat, dollar stores and discount retail. Chinese food restaurant and the subway also up there and there’s also a State liquor store plus a gas station called GetGo. I need a little Plaza definitely needs to be updated.

The shops here have some good stuff. Rose's, Dollar Tree , and Giant Eagle are your best bets for getting general stuff, but then they have more specific things like Spirit Halloween around October and Fine Wine all the time.

The shops are decent for a little small-town shopping area; Subway, a beer distributor, giant eagle, FITNESS 19 WITH CHILDCARE, Roses discount store, dollar tree, an African-American beauty supply store, laundromat, Boost mobile, a Chinese restaurant, Get-Go, a Spirit Halloween store was there for the Halloween-season, and I'm sure I'm missing a few on the list but all-in-all, the center itself is great. There's also quite a few more places to go to right down the street and are easily accessible if you're able to traverse the hill and street. If not though, there are buses that frequent the area and go throughout the local area, too. The one and only issue I have with Kennywood Shops is the GIANT EAGLE! It takes me less time to run through and grab 12 items from produce to dairy and everything in-between than it does for those cashier's to ring out one person with 3 items. There's one specific cashier that is so beyond rude to me, I've watched how she interacts with those before and after me, and the difference is very noticeable. I'll post more about Giant Eagle under their location, but it needs to be addressed with how slow and lazy the cashier's are. Today, in particular, there was a younger girl and I'm guessing she was the lead cashier on the floor and rather than helping to check out customers, she stood at her register with her head down and played around on her phone. I waited in line for 15 minutes with one person ahead of me with about 20 items and the second person was only cashing out a Coinstar voucher. FIFTEEN MINUTES!! It's unreal how cashiers are anymore. Also, this isn't the first time I've witnessed this type of service, it's been numerous times and on many different occasions and all different times and days of the week. There's no excuse for it to literally take me 7 minutes to shop for 10 items and then, fifteen minutes for checking out. There weren't even any self-checkouts open, most likely because the lead cashier didn't want to deal with watching over the area, instead wanting to be on her phone. It's unacceptable, unreasonable and uncalled for to wait in a line like that. I hope corporate sees this and actually does something to resolve the issue.

I was really disappointed with Queen Nails. They do a great job on my nails, but make sure you have time to waste. I got there 10 minutes before they opened. Two women were in front of me. It took another ten minutes for me to realize that I was waiting at least another hour before getting my pedicure. They are nice people, but there isn't any urgency in taking care of their customers. I will not go back there because my time is valuable. I can't waste two extra hours to get my nails done. I've walked out a number of times because of the wait.

Went to Giant Eagle, a regular one, not a Market District, had item couldn't find at others. Not too bad s set up, little different than other G.E.'s I've shopped at, but all in all, nice. Had dollar stores, laundromat, hair care shop and other stores that cover most shopping needs. Even has a Get Go, all in all, very nice.

😐 The parking lot here is going the way of Century III Mall. Instead of fixing the pot holes they just painted over most of them. I only go here because it's close to home. I see business dropping more and more. It's sad to see.
