First time visiting this place, and I thoroughly enjoyed it ! We both had some schnitzel. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice and peaceful. They do have a bar area for those interested. Loved the pretzel and the cheese sauce. Can't wait to come back. 🙂🙂

This place has the biggest selection of schnitzel! I had the Jäger (Hunter) Schnitzel with the mushroom and onion gravy and it was incredible! The brat sampler was also super delicious! I never knew Spokane has a German restaurant! I will definitely be going here more! The food is just like what I had in Germany!

Place was fantastic! Service made me feel right at home. Schnitzel and gravy was delicious, the spaetzel was on point and the homemade bratwurst was Devine. You can skip the German potato salad as the spaetzel was a much better option!

Love this place. It's in a strip mall near Safeway. The dragon breath beer is awesome. Bonus: on your birthday get a free meal!

I’ve been to this fine establishment on two separate occasions now. For a German pub in America, it is pretty good. There are two sides to the restaurant. 1 side is more of a sports bar feel, the other is more of a restaurant setting. Their beer selection Is very wide and includes a lot of German beer options for the beer fans out there. The bar also has a wide variety of other options. Prices are very fair and serving sizes are solid. The food is nothing short of awesome. I ordered the prime rib dip. It was very juicy and the meat used seemed very quality. You had the option to add stuff to the sandwich if you wanted. The dip added the amazing flavor that made this dish one I’d always go back for. The staff is very friendly and will make sure that all your requests and needs are met. I highly recommend this place.

This was one of my Favorite places to eat in Spokane but after the experience I had last last night, April 20th, 2023. I can't say I am going to be returning soon. I had been out of the area for a little over a year and well back in the area been eating at some of my old favorites. Das Stein Haus has always been one of my favorite because it was good food, Wait staff that made you feel like family and great atmosphere. The food is just as good as I remember it but the server i had last night was clueless. When we came in there was only 3 tables in the dining room. Nothing I would call busy looked like two of them were just finishing up. The server set us in a timely matter and said she would be right back with some waters. About 5 minutes pass and she returning with the water ask if we wanted anything else to drink, we didn't and she then said I will be right back to take your order. over the next 5 minutes I saw here running in and out of the kitchen like a chicken with its head cut off. When she returned we had some questions for her because my dining partner has dietary restrictions and we just needed to make sure either they could eat it or we could substitute something else. She was completely clueless about what goes into the items we ask about and said she couldn't do the substitute we ask about. So we end up ordering something else because she didn't know the menu well enough to answer the question. We ended having to send one item back 2 time because she "didn't here use say dressing on the side" even though we repeated the order to her 2 times. But to bring this to an end based of the lack of knowledge in the servers and the change in atmosphere because of that. I will not be returning for a bit.

This is spokanes only full sit down german style restaurant and whilst it has been modified to fit americans tastebuds overall it still falls pretty tried and true to all of the german food i have had whilst traveling Germany. They also have a vast array of alcohol and beirs and the staff is truly one of a kind and friendly. I really love their pretzel and biercheese but have also loved the bratwurst sampler as an app and equally enjoyed it. My favorite is just the traditional schnitzel with spatzel and red cabbage with a side of the german potato salad. Ive also always enjoyed their split pea and ham soup, barly and beef, potato soup, etc! They have a lemon cake that is incredible for desert or the apple strudel. The pricing is more then fair and reasonable the portion sizes are lovely and i love that you can even take home brats, spatzel, german potato salad etc by the container full for a fair price. I always enjoy myself when i go and take home yummy leftovers for the next day!

Brat in bun was great. A little smaller than other German venues, but tasted great. See photo for what was about a $13 dish. No complaints as the food was worth the price imo. Waitress was fast serving & had great customer service. Food came out without much wait. The lemonade is highly recommended, and there are different flavors of it. Overall great experience in a super clean venue. Waitress got to mention other options of to-go foods (as they sell brats by pound among other items), while not forcibly doing so. Grade A service. I hope to come back and enjoy the selection of German beers and other menu items. Definitely a place you want to check out!

Really good German food. Had the pretzel and bratwurst appetizers, apple brandy schnitzel, sauerbraten and schweinegeschnetzeltes. Delicious. The apple strudel and black forest cake were also delicious.

I am German, cook german, and just got back from Germany in September. Thought it would be nice to have some german food. Was very disappointed. Had Sauerbraten, which was overcooked and very dry. They don't even have Kartoffelklöße! The gravey was not right at all. They did have Rotkohl but wasn't very good. It might be OK for non Germans who do not know the difference but isn't not really very othentic. Very disappointed. How do you not have Kartoffelklöße? The waitress didn't even know what that was. Pictures are from my trip. Oh the spaetzle wad egg noodles or somthing?

All I can say is AMAZING!! This is our new go to place when we visit Spokane. I had the Beef Stroganoff, absolute perfection. My husband's Jager Schnitzel was as good as he he'd when he was stationed in Germany. The ambiance is spot on and waitstaff is amazing. Thank you for one of the best meals we have had in a long time.

This place is nothing to go out of your way for but a decent home cooked type of meal if you live in the neighborhood. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I did enjoy the German style decor. I think I just wanted authentic style German food, and to me, it seemed pretty basic. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu, it was very salty. Prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is clean. I will visit again.

Great food, really good beer! We will certainly be back. I expected a huge bill. It was so much less than I expected. Staff was friendly.

Ate dinner with family including 2 Grandchildren. The server was great. She even there a long time and deserves a raise. The atmosphere was clean with a "German" ambiance. The Reubens were not what I had hoped for. They were not hot and the sauce was a little off. Also, the price for a beer was a little higher than other restaurants.

Love this place. Low key, super great non-artificial staff make it even better. They're efficient even when somewhat busy. Very easy to eat here often because it's so convenient, options, and they'll make many sides of things for you. Beers are great, lentil soup is awesome, Oktoberfest has special items that are great. Not making claims that it's the epitome of German food, just a wonderful place for all the things that make it.

Had our first visit there for dinner last night. Amazing experience that we can't say enough about. Not only did the staff go way above and beyond with prepping our birthday reservation, but the food was unbelievably authentic and cooked to perfection. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Atmosphere and decor was amazing. Like being back in Germany!! From booking the reservation on the phone from Canada right through to dessert was absolutely top shelf! Wonderful meal to celebrate my Moms birthday. The overall evening literally brought my mom to tears, she was so moved by the whole meal.

This place is great! We have been here twice this week, 3 times in a month. The food was fantastic each time, priced fairly, which is rare these days, we are even talking about going here for breakfast after church tomorrow. My wife and I would highly recommend. Only thing I would change is, more choices in beer, most on tap are German and not my 1st choice, but it is a German restaurant. If you haven't been here, u need to!

Wow! Absolutely amazing food. Great ambience. Best service I've had hands down. Pretzel was delicious. All the sausage is made in house. I can't recommend this place enough. Truly a gem in spokane. Will be back!

Our first time here and we love it. I wanted to show my kids the food I experienced living in Germany. Did not disappoint. The kids love it and we'll come back for sure!

My mom, fiancée, and I went there for dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday last night and we enjoyed everything about it. The waitress was very friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely recommended, if you want to try something different.

Perfection. We just had the best happy hour ever. My husband got the pretzel brat and fries, thinking it would be a sausage and a pretzel. You guys! This item materialized as the perfect sandwich. The pretzel bun was so chewy and soft. The yummy brat was like OMG. I ordered the schnitzel with fries and was transported. The sauce, the slice of lemon. Wow! Ok Come On!!! We live just down the street and we will legit be here at 2 pm more often than not!!!!!!

Any of the great tasting schnitzels will more than fill you up. And on this cold day I thoroughly enjoyed the hot buttered rum. Taking home the delicious apple strudel is just plain smart.

Subdued, relaxing atmosphere, possibly because we were there later in the day. Seemed understaffed like most places, but staff was friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious, possibly on the salty side because that tends to be my preference

I grew up in Germany. This place is seriously like taking a trip back. I love it there, the food is outstanding, the atmosphere is great. The service is outstanding, nice selection. As far as I am concerned this is one of the finest places to eat in Spokane.

A new place for me, but I don't find myself in the 5-mile area much. Our (excellent) waitress suggested the Holzfaller, which is 2 eggs, jagerschnitzel, and choice of bratwurst (I opted for the house version), along with either potatoes pancakes or hashbrowns (I asked for a 1/2 serving of the hashbrowns). WOW!!! The house mushroom/onion gravy on the jagerschnitzel is incredible! Generous portions of really a good breakfast??? What's not to like! You need to try this if you like German cuisine. I'll be back.
