My wife and I stayed there for 8-days, and it is located in an excellent area, with excellent service, and delicious food, and MOST important, the Proffesional service provided by the whole staff, deserves 6 stars. The breakfast buffet was AWESOME, and Paola and Esperanza treated my wife and I like we were royalty.

This is my 3rd time in Medellin and I really enjoy the city, it's food and the warmth of the amazing colombian people. It's my 1st time at Hotel NH Collection Medellín and I simply love it. Clean comfortable rooms, comfortable king size bed, great pillows, amazing surroundings, so green and beautiful, outstanding breakfast, attention to detail and amazingly friendly people. I definitely recommend it. 👌🙋🏻‍♂️👍👍

Overall a pleasant, but uneventful stay. Rooms are quite spacious, adequate storage space is provided. The bathroom is too small, however. The shower is fine, quite large actually, but an extra foot or 2 of lateral space where the toilet is would make a huge difference. There is an outdoor swimming pool & hot tubs which I did not use as they closed too early for my schedule. The king-size bed was clean and the sheets were soft. However, the mattress was comically hard! It felt like sleeping on a wooden floor- and I'm some positions you could feel the springs. Not ideal. There are plenty of pillows provided to help you get comfortable, but unfortunately, they are all too soft and thin offering little to no support. I expected much better from an upmarket hotel like this. Sadly, another negative point of this hotel for me was the very loud air conditioning in the room. When it was on, it worked perfectly, but once the room got to the set temperature and it switched off it would make a large "BANG!" loud enough to jolt me every time it happened. I thought it might be an issue unique to my room, but... The walls and soundproofing from the hallway are very poor! I was able to hear a guest in the room next door puking loudly one night, other night I heard people talking loudly in the hallways or their rooms late at night, and one night it sounded like some guests had a party in their room. Thankfully it ended by midnight, but I was a little surprised that the walls were so thin. Especially in a higher-end property like this one. The location is convenient, it's 2 minutes away from a large mall, across the street from a We Work and just down the road is Starbucks and the main road. The metro station is walkable, and so is Poblado Park. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel as well. The hotel grounds are very well-kept. One thing nobody can't complain about here is the cleanliness of both the building's interior and exterior as well as the landscaping. Spotless and impeccably maintained. The staff truly are kind and do their best to help make you feel welcome. If anybody complains about the staff, they are lying. The restaurant is consistent, with good quality food. I ate 1 meal at the restaurant, it was fine. I had a Tuna Tataki & an ox tail lasagna. The items tasted fine, but sadly the lasagna was swimming in grease. Likely because of how it was cooked or possibly reheated, not sure. This seemed like a one-off because the Room Service was much better. Minestrone, grilled chicken, club sandwich and the "city burger" were all very well executed and tasted fresh. The food arrived hot and quite tasty! A nice thing about NH hotels is the flexibility of the housekeeping. You may choose to decline housekeeping on a given day, or days, and in exchange, you will receive a drink coupon for the lobby bar. This was a fun feature of the hotel and I availed myself of it a 4 of the 7 nights I stayed. In the room, there is a mini fridge stocked with various drinks (water, Redbull, wine, beer, etc) as well as a "pantry" with other snacks (chips, nuts, chocolates, etc). The television is large and offers a wide array of channels, many of them offer the possibility to change the language to English or Spanish which is awesome instead of needing to rely on subtitles. So, overall how would I rate my experience? I'd give it a B+ Positives: -Clean room -Friendly staff -Quiet & convenient location Negatives: -Uncomfortable mattress -Thin walls -Very noisy air conditioning

Overall this is a great hotel. It is super well located close to restaurants, shopping, and things to do. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was very disappointing. Everyone else was excellent and super kind. Our family visits this location once a year and normally everything is almost. So we are hoping it was just one time. Other than that I would 100% recommend this hotel.

I loved it here! This hotel definitely a top 5 in my book! The entire staff are very nice and helpful. Most can also speak english!(Which is no excuse because my Spanish SHOULD be fluent by now). The suite room I stayed in was plenty spacious compared to other hotels the angle photos to make the room seem bigger but this hotel it was big. The bed did seem a little stiffer than what's wanted but I didn't have any trouble sleeping. I knocked out and stayed asleep every night. Room service food was good too. The hotel is right next to plenty of nice must visit locations, definitely walking distance. Will definitely go back! Special shout out to Santiago that works there! Thanks for all your help and advise! I wish I took pictures of the hotel itself

It is by no means a 5-star hotel. The location and the staff are the only reasons for more than 1 star, they were excellent. But the lack of towels, glasses and washcloths in the room was very unacceptable. Multiple times during the week, we had to share a towel or use the same one from the day before and I never saw a washcloth. Soap seems to be scarce, as well. And perhaps the most aggravating of all is the surprising 24-hour turnaround and expensive fee on laundry. I was expecting a couple of hours and ended up having to just buy new clothes, which was not much more expensive. The rooms are nothing special. They're not larger or more luxurious than a typical Best Western in the U.S. The pool, while looking beautiful in the pictures on Priceline (notice its at night), is not as advertised. The pool is not even open at night (closed at 6pm) and the "jacuzzi" was cold and I'm not even sure it worked.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel is spotless, staff is very friendly, helpful and go out of their way for you. Breakfast buffet was nice. Fresh fruit, juices, pastries and cooked to order omelettes and eggs. Coffee was fair, but there’s a cappuccino machine in the buffet so I highly recommend you get your coffee there, where you have the choice of cappuccino, latte, macchiato, and hot chocolate at the press of a button. Hotel has a nice gym with a spinning bike. My only gripe with the hotel was there were only put 2 bath towels in the room. You can request more, but really… only 2 bath towels.. any women washing her hair needs at least 2 towels( 1 for hair & 1 for body) which leaves a hand towel for my husband to dry off after the shower and what if you shower before dinner… you will have dirty towels for the morning. You may want to consider 4 per room.. just for convenience.

One of the best hotels ever been to in Colombia. Visiting Colombia overall was a blast but being in such hotel in Medellin was awesome. Clean pool, delicious breakfast, awesome staff there and the room was spotless. 10/10 hotel in Colombia.

Excellent hotel and staff. Santiago (concierge) and Jaime (bartender/waiter) are to to be commended for their outstanding service. They could not do enough for me and made me feel very welcome. The breakfast is second to none... I highly recommend this hotel.

The location and the employees were nice, Santi was a very kind employee who gave us recommendations for the city, he was the best part of the experience. But we had some issues. The hotel is expensive as hell for what they offer. The breakfast had good variety, but not high in quality. The beds were like rocks. We couldn't shower because the hotel did not have a water supply for some reason, and they won't even offer something in compensation...

Our experience at this hotel was not the best. Both my husband and I love to travel, and part of that is finding a hotel with a comfortable bed to sleep on. The mattress was so stiff that the first night was absolutely horrible. In the morning we woke up and asked the receptionist to see if they had some kind of pillow top to make it more comfortable and they were super nice trying to accommodate our request. Even though they put a very thin mattress top we were extremely uncomfortable, to the point that every single night we tossed and turned and barely got any sleep at all - this ruined part of our trip because we were exhausted every day. The hotel is in a great area but has no views of the mountains. The breakfast was included but it was ok overall. Parking was included as well. The staff was very friendly but we honestly wish we would’ve stayed somewhere else.

"5 star" hotel in Colombia's richest city expects you to throw used toilet paper in the garbage can instead of the toilet. Like it is some 5$ a night room in some Latin American village. And I was scolded by the maintenance man for not using the trash can for toilet paper doing this when he came to my room to unclog the toilet that CLEARLY did not have proper water flow pressure. His communication was VERY clear to me, I misunderstood nothing of his words and his actions. So inform your staff not me, and increase the water pressure in your cheap low-flow toilets.

Only reason for 5 star rating is the staff. They are fantastic. From the people at the front desk to the people at the restaurant. All provide an excellent service. Super impressed. The breakfast buffet is really nice. Clean hotel. Gym needs a refresh though. Great location.

On the positive side, the breakfast was very nice and there is a huge mall just across the street. In theory you could order anything off the wifi menu, though somehow it didn't work and I had to call the front desk anyway. The refrigerator in the room is very loud, so better turn it off for the night.

Hotel is in an excellent location right next to a mall and a few good restaurants. It’s a 20 minute walk to the metro. However I had an unpleasant experience as they do not communicate in English very well. Also I tried to arrange a tour with their concierge which never happened. They did go out of their way to fit me in for New Years buffet as i had asked them to help me make a dinner reservation the day before and they did not help me. Instead they said everything is booked or closed. There are parts of the lobby that they leave the lights off I guess to save power but appears dark and unwelcoming. Floors in the room were cheap linoleum. The front desk staff were nice. Overall, I would not stay here again.

Rooms are fine, but nothing special for the price. Service is nice at front desk, but lacking in the restaurant. Location is great, as you can arrive anywhere in the city within 5-15 minutes. Lacking suites and balconies, as there are none in the hotel.

Everything was wonderful at the NH Collection in Medellin. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were large, beautiful and clean, the pool was heated to the perfect temperature, the breakfast buffet was elegant. I have no complaints and would gladly stay here again.

I have stayed here a few times. This is my 3rd time. So the 1st time was great. 2nd time the door would open and close with the air and make a noise, there was no real remedy here. the 3rd the room itself was not that great. I was on the 11th floor, which I did request a high room, the AC Vent kept moving which I had to call someone to fix, who then realized the ceiling was all went. then the charger on the wall didn't work, they are not major things but annoyances when you are there for such a long time. that being said the front desk is nice. I would love for them to have better taxi service, at least faster, I am quite impatient though. the restaurant was good. however you do have people who go above and beyond. specifically Emperatriz & Juan (i think that's his name, he also works the bar) they provide the best service. considering I ate 2 out of my 3 meals there it made the stay super great,

Nice place Next to huge shopping mall Clean rooms Very courteous staff. Miguel at reception was extremely helpful . Not to happy with buffet. Be careful with person who goes to your room to do covid test ..pay hotel not her. She tried to say I didn't pay but got caught.or get a receipt. Other than that .nice stay . Reasonable rates.

Friendly, professional staff. Food is great. It is a very quiet location near so many shops and restaurants. Wonderful hotel, good food and buffet breakfast. Ask for Guillermo the concierge who is very helpful planning tours and very helpful with dinner reservations. Definitely will come back again to this hotel which is well located in a quiet neighborhood.

Can not really call this place a 5-star hotel. Missing the finishing touches for a 5 star (larger rooms, bathrobes, etc.). But it’s a solid 4 star. Service is great, definitely pay the extra C$8 for included breakfast. The pool is awesome for laps. Great location, close to Santa Fe mall.

Stayed here roughly a week for vacation, and now extending the stay due to Covid isolation. Lots of issues. In terms of the room, lacking hot water and amenities which are said to be due to Covid reasons. You have to request through their glitchy app and response/confirmation time is very slow unless you repeatedly follow up. Laundry was said to be available when I decided to extend my stay, only for management to change their minds after I booked. The gym is limited and the sauna essentially doesn't work since the door doesn't close. Giving two stars as there were some staff members who were really pleasant and helpful throughout my stay. Loved my time in Medellin, but I do not plan to re-book a stay here or at any NH hotel in the future when I could book elsewhere for far more value.

2 stars I'm here right now, there's no hot water. when i called to complain about it they said it was in maintenance and would be up shortly, next day i asked again and was told basically the same thing. finally when i inquired about how long it's been going on, i was told 3 weeks, 3 weeks with this issue and no one notified us before checking in. the response from the staff was the typical 'que peña' style response you would expect from a low rent hotel, not a self proclaimed 5 star establishment. which it is not 5 star. there's also a loud banging that happens every 20 min from the ac cycling on and off, it's a maintenance issue that is from neglect, i could tell them the exact problem and how to fix it before it costs them money but i doubt they would care so why bother. ---- in response to the owners response about the hot water. surprise, I'm still here because i couldn't book anywhere else last minute. you replied to my 2 star review saying the hotel water was fixed since yesterday? it's still cold, it's not fixed and the staff here knows that. why are you lying on the internet to cover up the fact that you're purposely deceiving people to fill rooms. when i tell people checking in about the problem, they have cancelled their reservations and looked for other hotels. i own hotels and if i had this problem, i would have my staff notify people ahead of time or at the very least, during check in. this is how you get negative reviews. this will be the last time i stay here.

Nice hotel in a nice area, friendly staff that with multiple employees speaking Spanish and English. Nice spread and choices for breakfast.

The hotel is at the very nice part of town. It looks very business like, very clean. The staff is super professional, the rooms are spacious and clean. I loved the little packages of shampoo and body lotion, hand cream and body wash. You can tell they were thinking about small details, keeping the packages in the same “rang” as their hotel. The food is great, you have a variety of choice every day. The pool is outside, as well as jacuzzi, which is really nice, but the only thing that could be better are longer working hours of those two. Since we were exploring the city during the day, we only got to enjoy the pool one day of our stay, and that for a short period of time. It has a potential to be great hang out place by night.

This is an excellent place to stay, went to Medellin to visit family and have no complains about this hotel. Not sure where the bad reviews come from because we did not experience anything bad. Special thanks to Tania the breakfast lady, always so pleasant and engaged in conversation, she was so approachable that even my 7 year old would ask about her when he did not see her working. Thank you Hotel NH Collection Medellin for helping our experience to be a great one, see you again next year. Sincerely Jose L

Great hotel to relax. It’s just walking distance (1 short block) to the Santa Fe mall. Staff is super friendly and the breakfast has a good selection especially lots of tropical fruit. Great value for the price

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. I may give it 3.5 star. Room was clean but not luxurious at all. Water never stayed warm. Had to shower multiple Times in cold water. Good location within walking distance to the large santé de mall. About a good 20 minute walk from the nearest train station

  • 4/5 Paul (Payam) M. 2 years ago on Google
I booked this hotel because there were only two five star hotels in Medellin according to Expedia. This is a very nice hotel but is not a five star hotel. The staff is amazing. The location is in an upscale area within short walking distance of the malls. Try to get the suite rooms. The location in unbeatable. The hotel charged an additional $11/day because there were two of us. Breakfast is nice with an omelette station and fresh fruits and juices, but you have to make your own latte with a cheap machine. We did not use the pool because it rained almost everyday.

It’s in a perfect location in el poblado u can walk right to the SantaFe mall … good food around/coffee shops … Ur like a 10 min ride from the nightlife/bars and popular restaurants … it’s not noisy … close to all the tours destinations… and super safe.. u can’t pick a better location imo .. they only serve breakfast I believe but ur around many restaurants so you are perfectly fine
