Definitely a tourist trap. Stopped here on a Sunday around 4pm/5pm. They said they only had one seat available at the bar. When I went upstairs, the entire restaurant was empty. Maybe two or three people at the bar, and two or three people at a table. Service is terrible. The server explained it would take 40 minutes to an hour to get anything off the menu, even with no one in the restaurant. He came back almost 30 minutes later to get my order. Luckily I was able to grab one of the other servers that were standing around. Food is okay, if that. No idea how people rave about it. The seafood rice dish that was recommended was very dry, but okay. The other recommendation was terrible. Under cooked pork wrapped around a bland, bitter filling with tons of mayo spread on top. The dessert was okay but took about 30 minutes or so to get. The whole experience took almost 3 hours which could have been an hour at best. The original server asked if I wanted to tip him extra. Even though he didn’t do anything but seat me. I tipped anyways, hopefully it’s a tip pool. The place itself and vibe are cool. Service is terrible, food is okay. Seems hit or miss.

What a phenomenal spot! The only issue you'll have with Alambique, is that if you go here at the beginning of your visit, this will be the bar with which you measure all other restaurants, leaving you sad and unfulfilled. Every detail has been considered with this place. From the STUNNING menu design and layout, to the books/reclaimed wood/mismatched plates design. It all comes together in an eclectic beauty. The staff is warm and accurate. But the food - THAT is the best part! As a vegan, I'd like a few more options, but the one I got (I Love Vegan) was amazing. The fresh flavors and expertly cooked asparagus and mushrooms were more than perfect and left me just right. The cocktails are works of art. Literally the single best Mojito I have ever had (and I have travelled quite a bit). We plan on stopping in many more times this visit, and we think you should too. It's a WONDERFUL spot.

By far my favorite restaurant in Medellin. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. The restaurant is beautiful and has lots of plants and semi hidden dining spots. It was one of the few restaurants that I visited that also had a great cocktail list. Highly recommended.

Really creative food and space! Everything we ate was great and the space is stunning. It looks like a hole in the wall from outside and it right on the street but once you go in there is a hidden oasis that is decorated with so much plant life. Our server was super grumpy though and the food was very slow to come out so I'm docking a star for that.

I’ve been personally struggling to find good restaurants in Colombia, so in Colombia standards, this would be a 4 star for me. The place is very nicely decorated, has a nice vibe and the portions are big! The food is average, lacks flavour sometimes, but nicely decorated. This place is a good option to go to if you’re on a visit. Just don’t come with high expectations.

Amazing food. Def recommend the tacos and the salad plate. Service was great too. Relatively reasonable prices. Usually a little busy so best reserve a spot in advance. but the wait isn't too bad of u just show up without one.

The reviews do all the justice and help with the decision making. They continue to keep their reputation in line with the reviews from the past. The portions are plentiful, the servers know exactly how much would be sufficient for their guests and they give you an accurate estimate of how much to offer. While the vegetarian options appear decent in number in the menu, they’re generous in quantity on the plates. Craft cocktails made with precision. Will have to come back to experience more cocktails and other items on the menu.

Flawless experience! Service was outstanding. The food was inventive, delicious, fun, and the right portion sizes! We definitely over ordered because with a selection like that, how can you decide what NOT to have?! And the actual physical menu... The most beautiful menu I've ever seen!!! I really wish they sold it as I would have gladly purchased a couple of them as a keepsake and coffee table piece.

Great tasting food, good for big groups so you can try more plates together. Has like a speakeasy vibe because the entrance is hidden and then WOW! All of sudden you’re transported to a vintage antique shop meets jungle oasis. The house cocktails were also creative and refreshing because they used local/exotic fruits and ingredients.

This is our second time here. Really great service and food. Price point is unbeatable. The salad absolutely was a star. Also the decor is just out of this world. Would recommend to anyone!

Great tapas style restaurant with a unique atmosphere. The entrance is a plain door that leads you down a hallway then upstairs to what feels like a hidden restaurant. The decor has lots of greenery and small random items scattered throughout that's fun to look at, the longer you stare the more you'll find tucked away. There's both small plates to choose from and larger sharable plates as well. I've been 3 times now and ordered different things each time. I have not been disappointed yet. Great place for a date or family meal. Definitely a must try while in Medellin.

Speak easy restaurant with three levels in a garden setting. Don’t let the main entrance fool you, embrace the curiosity and keep walking straight to the end until you see the stairs up. Surprising high ceiling space with book-shelves along the walls and a bar in the middle. The menu is in Spanish, get your Google translate ready in case of the language barrier. Mains take up to 45 minutes to get ready so make sure you have enough time for your meal. Enjoy!

What an amazing dining experience! We didn't have a reservation but were quickly accommodated. Cocktails and food are really mind blowing, unusual recipes and fantastic delivery. Loved the decor of the place and lovely atmosphere. The waitresses spoke english which was a big plus!

This place is amazing. Various sitting areas. right across from El Poblado Park. Easy to miss, as the entry is a small door. the space and the decor inside is very unique. A band was playing when we were there. we sat on the semi private balcony overlooking the courtyard. The food and drinks are great.

I had the pleasure of visiting this place recently, and although the entrance might not impress you immediately, a surprising experience awaits you inside. The atmosphere is truly pleasant, with exotic and curious decor that immerses you in a unique experience. The food was a delightful surprise. The dishes were exquisite, the cocktails were bursting with flavor, and the dessert was the perfect ending to a memorable dinner. In addition to the food, the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The staff went out of their way to make our visit special and made us feel very welcome. In summary, this place is a hidden gem that is worth discovering. Despite the initial impression at the entrance, it offers a culinary experience and an ambiance that will leave you with a smile on your face. I will definitely be back!"

Best brisket I have ever had in my life! I could literally eat here everyday. First visit to Colombia and to this restaurant and it will not be my last. The ambience, the service, the music, the views, the food & drinks were SPECTACULAR! I could not have had a better birthday celebration! This one will be hard to top. 100 STARS ⭐️

Really enjoyed our meal at Alambique. We went at around 3.30pm on a Saturday without a reservation but would recommend to make one if you were going at peak time as it was still busy. The service was slightly slow but the food made up for it. We had the black tacos and the brisket. Really tasty and would recommend.

The ambience and surprise revealed beyond the nondescript rather seedy entry is well worth a visit. We came for cocktails with no reservation and we’re very lucky to get a bar seat as the tables were all booked that night. This was our first encounter with Viche, a liquor distilled from Sugar Cane, that was incorporated into a few cocktails here. Their menu is a work of art in presentation, something I don’t ever mention in a review. Absolutely magical like reading book about art. We had a few apps as we had only intended drinks but couldn’t resist the unique offerings.

My happy place! I had such a good time here sharing food with new friends and the honest opinions from the waiter about the food and what was the best option for us. Staff super kind and the place is beautiful! My favorite place in poblado. Love u Alambique! ❤️

The ambiance was good. Service was excellent. It just took longer to get your food. Drinks are tasty and they are welcoming. Would advise to reserve a table since it fills up quickly. Would have to be patient since the service takes longer to deliver food and checks. It is a bit retro style restaurant. Harder to find the restaurant since it is In a alley. Would definitely ***RECOMMEND*** for out of towners

First of all, the ambiance is lovely. Small sign outside and the door leads into a plant filled waiting area. The menu is a gorgeous hardcover book. The food is delicious and well worth the moderate price point. The portions of food are large! The service is excellent. Whether you are local or visiting, this restaurant is a must. (Make a reservation)

Hidden gem of a restaurant that provides a twist on Colombian food. Great cocktails and food. The decor of this restaurant is quite unique and nothing like anything else I've seen in Medellin. Reservations are recommended, and most dishes are meant for sharing.

Truly unique and amazing. From the atmosphere, to the creativity of the food, to the menu design, everything is damn near perfect. I have eaten at many great spots around the world and this ranks in my top 20 dining experiences, easily. My recommendation: get a pitcher of unique sangria, the "shots" (pictured), and pick some of their other "imperdibles". And come hungry.

Food is really tasty. If you want to try a different experience of food you have never tried before, this is the spot. We had Manuel as a server. He did a good job (we ordered a cookie and received it burnt; he offered a solution promptly). Atmosphere and music is is nice: very casual/relax. Food would have a 5 star if it wasn’t for the burnt cookie…which I feel bad giving four stars since they replaced it quickly. Home made ice cream is a treat. Whole ordeal about the bill at the end. Could not change the bill supposedly… what a mess. Had to pay for my friend’s food. Service went from 5 star to 1.

😠 We ordered a mixed ceviche and it was very acidic, you couldn't eat it, the presentation was terrible in a plastic cup. We paid 28,900 each and it was just onion, a small fish bite and 3 shrimp.

👍👍 This is a traditional Colombian restaurant. I went around 12:40 pm, it was crowded but there were available seating. I ordered bandeja paisa. Portions were large and food was delicious. I also ordered cola zero and they brought 300 ml large bottle. Unfortunately 10% tip is included. I don’t like res...
