7/30/23 Good place for thin crust pizzas and general Italian dishes. They have desserts, ice cream, salads, and small iron skillets, usually with cheese. They put too much parmesan cheese on their risotto. The buffalo mozzarella is very good and highly recommended on any dish. The juices are very good and come in tall glasses. Service can be decent, but typical Colombian servers don't like to interrupt your meal, so they don't come and check up on you. Ambience is good. They have fans stationed throughout to cool down the place.

I had just arrived in Medellín and began thinking about dinner. I selected Romero based upon the suggestion of a new friend. Upon arrival, the place was packed. So packed, in fact, that I would have had to wait at least half an hour to get a table for one. I was pleased to be able to immediately sit at the bar instead. I consider myself somewhat of a French Onion Soup connoisseur. As such, I was thrilled to see it on the menu. When my soup arrived, I was positively giddy looking at the alien-like bowl before me. As many bowls of French Onion Soup as I've eaten, this was certainly the most unique looking. It looked like a bread bomb covering the bowl. As I stabbed the puff with my spoon, I happily discovered that beneath the thin, flaky bread was a layer of melted cheese. My hands shook with excitement as I lifted the first spoonful toward my drooling mouth. The taste was every bit as delightful as the presentation. I was pleasantly surprised to discover there was even more melted cheese hiding at the bottom of the bowl. I can honestly say this was the best French Onion Soup I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Soon after I finished the soup, the Casserole Maremonti I ordered arrived. I've never had anything like it. It was essentially a seafood, tomato sauce, and melted cheese soup. I used the bread that accompanied it to dip in the tomato sauce. It was truly delicious! Be forewarned; while this is a romantic restaurant with a fantastic ambiance, it would be inadvisable to order what I ate on a first date. Thank God I was alone because I looked like a fool devouring all the stringy cheese, some of which ended up on my face and shirt. My experience at Romero was world class. No matter how short your stay in Medellin, this is one place not to be missed. Barriga llena, corazón contenta.

Try the excellent Arequipe volcano combined with cookie gelato. What a mix of flavors! First, have some Sangria (red, white or pink wine) and ask for a pasta and a meat plate or go for the Burrata pizza. Ahh, and the tomato soup, a must!

So the aesthetic appearance is very nice. The patio seating area was pleasant. However, those positive attributes do not make up for the service and lackluster food. In this case, our server was more interested in watching the CONCACAF soccer match from a distance, playing on a big screen at the adjacent restaurant. He also was short with us and couldn't answer simple questions regarding the ingredients in some if the dishes. The meals looked tasty but we're in fact quite bland. Having eaten Italian food in the US and Italy, I can confidently say every plate we ordered was bland or light on flavor. I know trust Medellin isn't known for its Italian cuisine, but having just ate at several Italian restaurants in the smaller city of Bucaramanga the week before, which were spectacular, I'm convinced that the food at this restaurant was sub par. Conversely, their ice cream in the separate patio area was delicious.

We waited 40 minutes to our food! The place was empty, they weren't busy and we waited so much time. When the food finally arrived we didnt got all what we orderd. We had to return one of the dishes because the meat was so hard and cold inside, and instead of making us a new piece this terrible meat they took it back to the kitchen cut it to small slices and thought we didnt pay attention that it the same meat that we returned to them. Not recommended at all.

The service is extremely slow. We order few simple things like pizza and pasta. And it took almost 40 minutes. And the restaurant was almost empty. And there were 4 cooks, it's ridiculous. All the dishes were 4-5/10. Even one of my friends couldn't eat the dish from how bad it was. Most of the things didn't have taste. You need to put ready effort to find the taste in the dishes. The only things that was ok were the pizzas. And even there we order pizza margarita, which should be only cheese and tomato sauce and it was with dry tomatoes and tomatoes, so even this they manage to do bad. The desert were ok, like 7/10. Volcán de Arequipe y Nutella. And they took like 15-20 minutes to arrive which was a lot for such simple deserts. The only good thing was the atmosphere, I suggest If u come to this place just eat ice cream and coffee. Don't eat here.

I visited this place on my last night in Medellin. We got there at 10ishpm and was told the kitchen was closed. Then out of nowhere a gentle man who I believe was the manager came and told us to take a seat that they will take care of us . That was very nice of him and that’s how you treat your guest . I didn’t catch his name but thank you sir if your are reading this . We ordered 3 full gourme pizza pies ! They were all delicious ! The Marinera one was my favorite . We also had some rose wine sangria which was very tasty ! The staff was so friendly and helpful tho whole time . The ambience was very delightful and peaceful ! We will definitely be back here next time we visit Medellin ! Great food great attention and a great time !

A wonderful restaurant, small, cosy and excellent for an intimate first date or to fuel the ongoing romance of a permanent couple. The food is exquisite, served by a energetic and professional staff who quickly assist you with any enquieries. Select a table outside on the balcony for the romantic air and the cool breeze.

(-) The four cheese pasta with chicken didn’t combine good together. The sauce was lack of taste, chicken was good. (+) The dessert of cookie with ice cream was amazing ! (+) The salmon pasta was really tasty. Prices are high.

Always great food at this restaurant. It was the first time I have eaten at this location. I have eaten at other locations. It was very busy so the service could've been better.

We went to Romero because we were working nearby and were impressed. The Italian food was pretty authentic and the service was very attentive. We started with the tomato soup which was very good and then had the raviolis and a roasted Portobello mushroom with cheese. All the dishes were good and we liked the tropical inspired lemonades too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the focaccia did not taste so fresh, but was still very soft. I would definitely go back- the salads and desserts looked great at the table nearby!
