The journey on the cable car to the park is stunning. That being said, I wouldn’t go out of your way to visit the park because it’s about an hour one way from the city on public transit. While in the park, I completed the short trail and saw some pretty flowers, but not much wildlife.

Beautiful park with so much wildlife and things to do. I took the cable car into the park, which is an experience in itself. It is so beautiful and has lots of greenery. At the entrance you will find a market selling foods, goods and jewelry. There is also a kiosk that sells food closer to the entrance of the actual park. This was a wonderful experience. Bring a light jacket and comfortable shoes.

We had a nice time here, especially enjoyed the metrocable ride up the mountain. I’m the entrance there were some food stands and we actually had a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. We bought some things for lunch and headed out to the trail. The park itself was a bit disappointing, as we had to walk a lot of it on the road. We ended up at the picnic area which was really nice! There’s a little creek and a lot of seating and camping sites. From the end of this picnic area we could take the bus back instead of walking all the way up the hill to get back to the entrance on the cable car side. Actually we didn’t really have a choice either way since turned out dogs are only allowed on the metro at specific times of day- weekends until ill 12 only! The bus ride was nice as well, got to see the villages on the way down.

We did a private tour in English with Veronica and it was one of our favorite things in Medellin. The park is absolutely beautiful. Veronica is very knowledgeable and such a great guide. There are excellent little snack spots. We can't wait to go back.

Great park! A 1 hour and a 3 hour hike available. Local vendors setup at entrance offering food and crafts. Easy trail.

This is arguably the best place to visit in Medellin. You will get a panoramic view of the entire mountain range along with the city, add to that the beautiful metro and cable car. The market has variety of shops offering good food and souvenirs. If you ever go to Medellin, this is a must visit place.

Good day out from Medellin. Accessible from the metro, easy to work out! It's a little confusing when you get to Parque Arvi.. As it says its free to visit. But that's only if you don't want to do any walks.. Which is surely the only reason why you would be going here? Otherwise there's a little cafe and a gift shop? So it actually costs 40,000 cop to enter and do any walks. Which you can have a guide or not (guides only speak Spanish, so we didn't have one since our Spanish isn't great) Walking around the trail was nice.. Though there wasn't any wildlife. I mean, it was deadly quiet. Which is nice! But just weird that there's no birds or anything 🤷‍♀️ The paths are well maintained, easy to work out on your own. We grabbed a coffee and bought a souvenir or two. And then went to head back on the cable car. But it had to stop for around 50 mins due to the weather. Do expect this to happen, as there are a lot of thunderstorms every day in Medellin. So if you need to get somewhere after your visit. I would just be prepared that you may get delayed. Thunderstorms seem to be more regular in the afternoons!

Read the 1 star reviews before you venture here. I perused several that are quite true. The cable car ride to Arvi is approx 20 mins. A/O 6/2022 it costs ~$11000 each way per person. Can be a lovely experience, EXCEPT if it's raining (as in our case) and all the windows were foggy so we couldn't see any of the city or park during the ride. Entrance to the park is supposed to be free, however, there's a ticket booth with glaring price signs as soon as you exit cable cars to enter the park. Seeing this makes you assume you must pay to enter and they will milk you (meaning they won't tell you the park itself is free). Price for foreigners is 3x price for locals (see my pics). We were a group of 8. One was a local who translated. We chose the free option (to the waterfall), but it seems we entered the same area and walked the same route to the waterfall as others who paid. 🤔. Yes, pretty confusing. Getting to the WATERFALL 'Entrance', is approx 25 mins walk. THERE ARE NO SIGNS to guide you there. Seems most groups are following other groups and you hope the group you're following knows the way! The walk is along an active and winding street/highway with cars. 'Entrance' is across from a random house. House on right. Entrance to waterfall/camp grounds/park area on left. Again, there are NO SIGNS. Next, you venture another 10 +/- mins through clay/dirt landscape. Dress appropriately! If it rains, clay is VERY slippery and adventurous. We saw a young lady slip and fall, so be careful. I enjoyed the outing, but if you've been hiking before or have seen a waterfall, you're not missing anything if you skip this one.

Nice forest walk close to the city. Also, if you arrive by cable car, you'll have a pretty nice view of the city and forest from above.

Really nice park to go to for the day to get in touch with nature. Along with trails you could also zip line or enjoy the swings or the many activities in the surrounding area. Highly recommend.

Cool place to visit if you want to be in nature. The trails are pretty well marked and there’s some cool historic monuments along the trails. If you’re native to Colombo you pay $25.000 pesos but if you’re American you pay $50.000 pesos. There’s a few vendors shops and places to get food as well as clothing and trinkets. If you want to get here via Metrocable you’ll need to take the Acevedo station to Santo Domingo and then pay again to get to the Arvi extension line. You’ll also have to pay again on the way down!

While it was a cool and reasonably priced gondola ride to the park, the hike was really not worth the price. We walked the entire route and saw one bird, one butterfly, and a whole bunch of non-flowering orchids tied to trees. A nice walk if you want to do a bit of altitude and get some steps in. The vendors in the park had delicious fruit and food choices and also an artisan market.

Parque Arvi is beautiful and at a higher elevation than Medellín with more cool and crisp air. The park is clean and there’s an area you and shop from local merchants and a coffee shop. Do not hike the area without a guide. There are signs recommending people not hike alone as some hikers have been mugged. The park is remote and remember you pay for your safety. That said, highly recommend visiting this park.

It's a great place to have a relaxing afternoon. There are street vendors and homie/cozy restaurants with very yummy foods. Everyone in the area are very friendly . I highly recommend to take the metro cable up the park. It's a nice experience if you are not afraid to heights.

Beautiful, even though the park itself doesn’t have many animals/ flowers to see. Just a beautiful hike outside of Medellin craziness. The cable car to get there is amazing. We got a day with a bit of wind and that made it also a bit scary :)

I was stunned to see such a wonderful park on top of a mountain. The construction work about 7500 ft above sea level is unreal. So well maintained and so worth seeing it along with the espectacular views from the Metro Cable

Perfect place for a break from the big city. Getting here by the metrocable is easy, cheap, and thrilling. The entrance to the park is very well organized, and the admission without a guide is free. They have miles of trails and you can spend days exploring, or just hang out by the lake. The trails are not very well marked and some are overgrown so consider a good hiking app that covers the area.

Beautiful park! I highly recommend this place. It’s relaxing, magical, and fun. They are doing a great job with Covid guidelines. It’s clean, easy to navigate, and fresh. Metro-Cable ride it’s a cool experience as well. Tour guides are funny, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have a cafeteria and some vendors. Bike riders are allowed. Perfect for picnics.

Thanks to the Metro system and the cable cars that take you all the way to the park, it's really easy and comfortable to get there. Making it a very feasible option of getting away from the city. It's also beautiful and peaceful.

Great outdoors ecological park, located in the outskirts of Medellín. Parque Arví is easily accessible by Metro (get off at Acevedo Station to commute to two other lines) and Metro Cable. The park also has a very nice cafeteria for pastry, coffee, etc.

Beautiful place for having some rest out of time. You can arrive directly via Metrocable, which is an awesome experience for tourists to enjoy Medellín landscapes. The Park has entertainment and a very cool Market to try delicious food or get artisan's work.

This is a wonderful place to spend an entire day at. There's lots of hiking and sightseeing to do. All around a very relaxed place. There's no signs of anything to orient you while you're there so you'll have to ask around to find cool places.

  • 5/5 Josh H. 1 year ago on Google
Got to see a really interesting side of Parque Arví, which I wouldn’t have been able to see without the help of a local friend. If you take the “free route” which takes you on a sidewalk down the hill a ways, there’s a small café that sells cerveza de cannabis, which is worth the stop. Then you follow a paved road to the forest entrance. In there you’ll find a waterfall and many fire pits and campsites. There’s also a few spots along the river where there are deep pools that you can jump into if you can stand the cold water ;)

  • 5/5 Tina K. 1 year ago on Google
Just stunning views and hiking trails. Not very stroller friendly but manageable. The waterfalls and picnic areas are amazing. Remember to breathe in all that fresh air. Like other places, 1000 pesos for the washrooms here as well so bring cash. The little cafe and shops are incredible.

  • 5/5 Christian M. 1 year ago on Google
One of the best places to visit in Medellin, even if you don't go round the park itself it is worth just taking the cable car ride up there to see the amazing views along the way. The park is free to enter however you can lay $40,000COP if you want to hike round yourself. Worth doing as it is generally a nice gentle walk though the forest with little bits of information on the way explaining what the park is all about and how keeping the forest there does for us. Probably a good hours hike. Good place to bring children as well as there is plenty to do.

  • 5/5 Karel 1 year ago on Google

What a fun experience! The cable ride to the top and back only costs 50k pesos, and once you're up there its very beautiful. There's a nice little market with lots of food and trinket vendors, toilets, and guided tours. Definitely a must-see when visiting Medellín!

Very cool park full of tons of Colombian plants. Lots to see. They even gift you a little succulent when you leave (although if you are from out of the country, it's kind of pointless lol) Water bottles given with entry as well.

Nice place to enjoy the nature close to the big city like Medellin. There’re routes you can hike around with a small fee which will include the tour guide for nature safety. I did the free walk by myself to the picnic area and small waterfall though, which was very nice and relaxing.

Exciting how fast you can get out of the trouble from the city of medellín to a place which is quite and calm. You can take hikes with or without a guide or go to a market with local offers from merchants. If you stroll into the park you'll find some lonely places to chill out. very recommended if you're exhausted by the city.

Love it, the metro cable is great, safe and clean. It is a long ride to the top of the mountain but it is worth it. You will have to pay extra ($10.000 cop each way) to get in the second gondola that will take you to the park. In addition you can take a bus to Santa Helena but those buses take some time to leave, I believe that there is one every 30 minutes. I hope you like my picture.... Inst: jmm_pics.

A beautiful cable car ride from the center of the city... but once you arrive there is a commercial establishment that essentially is a impenetrable wall between visitors and the park. I wish there were ecological displays of higher quality and richer information, describing more all the thousands of species of birds, mammals, fish, and trees but alas these are very sparse. they have what they call an ecological Center jaja... But it's really just a gift shop. You learn more by a half an hour of reading online then you can at this lame "ecological Center." it's a shame that they don't educate and inform visitors more. I don't think you should have to take a tour in order to learn about the ecology of the park. So... all in all a beautiful way to escape the city and get some cool fresh air but unfortunately the educational opportunities are not well developed
