Crime scene of the 1995, 10 June terrorist incident perpetrated by the Medellin Narco Outfit that left 29 people dead and more then 200 wounded. The destroyed Fernando Botero sculpture is the shocking witness of that tragic day in 1995. Displayed behind : The EL COLOMBIANO newspaper account of this Cartel crime event.

It's like a square, with a long spa that should be used for putting monuments other sculptures. It has around some business which buy cigarettes and liquor that don't give a nice context for a laid back place like this.

Great park with lots of activities to do around. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Just don't go too late.

It's a cool park, there isn't much here aside from the bird statues. Which are iconic and should be seen. It gives good prospective on the violence and dark history and the modern change it's gone through.

This was a thought provoking space. The guide explained why the 2 sculptures, one brand new and one damaged by a car bomb were there side by side... Where Medillin was and where it is now... poignant.

The history of the square is both tragic and hopeful. Local art is gorgeous, and statues in the square have a history worth reading about. Would recommend going with a guide if you’re a gringx.

This is a big open square with Botero sculptures and a historic relic of Medellin's tragic past -and hope for the future. There is a clean pay public washroom near the amphitheatre.

A dirty place with pee smell everywhere . Full of robers and shops that only offer bad quality beer. The city government should do something to recover it.

Interesting plaza, when you know the history. We went as part of a tour and had all the details explained to us in a lot of detail. It doesn't seem like the sort of place tourists would hang around during the evening

Good place to walk through during the day. This square was created to have concerts and events for the city. There are two Botero sculptures on the side of the square. One is destroyed because in 1995 during a concert a bomb went off, around 90 people were injured and 20 died. The government wanted to get rid of the destroyed sculpture but Botero refused to let them do that because he didn’t want the people to forget what had happened. Instead, Botero made a copy of the sculpture and you can see them side by side. Nothing like this has happened there since and it’s a cool way to appreciate how far Medellin has made it since it’s dark past. I’ve been told not to come here at night and just be vigilant during the day.

(Translated by Google) Everyone thinks it is a dangerous place and it really is hahaha but fortunately measures are already being taken to make it a pleasant and safe place for us citizens of good, I have seen lately that there is more control by the police, they do Campaigns with tents and several patrols and one feels safe, it is important to take care not to take out your cell phone or be displaying your Belongings!
