Escalators are more of a novelty. The artwork surrounding the escalators is the real star! Well worth the visit. Super friendly people and several street vendors. Bring cash!

I'm glad I came here. I wish there were a few more public bulletins explaining what has transpired here (or it's possible I missed them). Lots of tours through the area in several languages. Lots of art to see. Tons of shops and trinkets/souvenirs. And of course, excellent views of Medellin.

Beautiful street artwork, worth a visit. Very touristy and safe, at least during daylight. The escalators themselves are not the "amazing social investment" the government brags about. Literally just an escalator.

very good...safe until 7pm....although you can go up until 12 midnight maybe in groups....not a great idea after 7pm THE REASON I PUT 3 STARS ELECTRIC ESCALATORS not working otherwise i give it a 5star... hard climb without it

Klasse Stadtteil und wirklich krass was daraus geworden ist, wenn man bedenkt was hier vor 30 Jahren noch los war. Tolle Musik nette Leute und überall schöne Graffitis 😊

Worth to visit, but too much touristy. These areas are souvenir shops and cafĂŠ bar only. If you wanna come to see "slum", you will be shocked. Not gang, but shop staffs come to you never ending.

It's great that the city is putting so much effort into making it easy for people to commute. I can't imagine how hard it used to be for the people who live there without those escalators. It has become a major tourist attraction, looking somewhat like camden town in London. It was very crouded and noisy, everyone trying to make us buy mostly cheap, plastic, tacky products. Plenty if companies trying to make us get a guide. Totally pointless. Fortunately, we didn't g9 on a free tour, it would be a waste of time. It's very easy to get there and go about on your own, and it would have been a torture, trying to listen to a guide in all this noise. We made it to the top and quickly escaped. Maybe it's better during the week and not on the weekend. All in all, it was a bit dissapointing.

I was charged 60k for a Comuna 13 tour with this company, booked through a company called ‘Paisa Tours Medellin’. The rest of the group were told they were on a free walking tour and only paid tips. Book with another company, or just go there yourself, it’s completely safe.

Very busy place, but it was Colombian independence day. Great view.

Interestingly, this is probably the safest place you can visit in Medellin. It is very touristy now but don't let that discourage you from going, there are great views at the very top of the communa, and the rest of Medellin made easy thanks to the awesome escalators that will take you high up into the communas. There are artworks, dance shows, gift shops, and food stalls all over the place and you will haver a fun time here. I wouldn't recommend getting a tour, as you can see and explore everywhere yourself for free. Definitely recommend taking the cable cars to get up here.

Nice experience, good view over comuna 13 and its coloured houses. Went there at daytime and felt absolutely safe. Lots of tourists on their own and also lots of guided tours. Friendly people.

A nice place to get an overview over medellin. Felt safe all time. People helped me to find the way to the escalator and to find the right bus to the train station San Javier. I've had a coffee (tinto) on the top of the escalator.

The escalators are between the houses and it takes to the top of the mountain with beautiful views. The graffiti are very beautiful especially the one that says “we are immigrants”. The people who live there are very nice and they started businesses to accommodate the tourists who visit the area.

It's interesting how poverty is disguised as a tourist attraction. Super crowded, be ready to spend hours as it is pretty big. It seemed to me more like a place to gather and have drinks.
