During the day this is just a cute Park with a couple of local Craftsman selling trinkets. But during the night, this is the primary hunting grounds for "ladies of the night". At night there are still artistic vendors, but the bars surrounding the park open, and the whole park has a party vibe. But if a cute girl winks at you or smiles at you in this park and it's dark outside, it's not just because she thinks your cute.

I prefer the atmosphere during the day, where you can appreciate the greenery, the Monstera plants, the Virgin Mary and memoriam. The people posting 4-5 star reviews for this park in the past year must either be high on something or really be thinking of the various businesses around the park rather than the park itself. This park may have been pretty at one time and hopefully will be someday again (if they ever finish the reconstruction) but it has been closed for renovation that began in February 2022 and as of now (Nov 2022) is still going on (and not to be confused with the previous major renovation that was completed in 2019). Last time I was there it was completely screened off from access or view due to reconstruction that has been going on inside. When I walked by it on Calle 9a on a recent night I saw several rats scurry under the screening surrounding the park and that was the only nightlife I saw entering the park. As for activity SURROUNDING the park, there ARE many fine bars and restaurants worth checking out. However one should be aware there is also a fair amount of streetwalker activity (which I suppose could either be seen as a good or a bad thing depending upon one's proclivities) particularly in the area between the park and Calle 10 but much less so in the bar areas south of the park or a few blocks to the east in Provenza

The city is trying very hard to clean this park up and i think it's succeeding. There are not so many strange people anymore. I went to a music festival hosted at this park and I had a great time. It's probably better in the day than at night, unless you're a party animal.

This is a good neighborhood to get good food / different cuisines. Many pubs and bars are also in the neighborhood. This is also a nice backpacker district with Cafe's, hostels and basic hotels. There is also a small park. The renovation around the park is almost done and the park is now open with roadwork in progress in just one last street around the park.

If there was a place that screamed tourist trap this would be it, carefull with what you order as there is always tips and service charges added. Most places are priced according to West and drinks can be significantly watered down, sheesha usually bland and overpriced, food not even worth it. I'd suggest nearby Provenza.

So I'm currently staying in this area of medellin. Let's just say if you are looking to have a nice blend of culture, touristy stuff and everything in between? I would highly recommend it. So far up until now I have felt completely safe and haven't had too many issues. People are extremely friendly. The only thing that may get a little annoying are the people trying to sell you things. Some really really really are hard to convince them that no thank you means no. Would definitely recommend a trip here at least 1 time in your life.
