COCKROACHES. This hotel has cockroaches. When we returned one night and turned on the light in our room, a bunch of them scattered. Gross. We requested a refund so we could leave and go to another hotel but were denied. The beds are also super tiny, meaning short. If you are over 5'7", your feet will hang off the bed. For three of our four days, we received a cold breakfast served on dirty plates, and there were no more cups, so we couldn't have any coffee. The bathroom in our room had toilet paper stuck to the ceiling, and the spa tub was equally filthy. The hotel is super noisy, and the area is very dangerous. During the day, we were harassed for money outside the hotel constantly, and at night it wasn't safe to leave the hotel at all. The photos were taken when the hotel was new and do not reflect the current state of this hotel. Do yourself a solid and stay somewhere else.

If I could leave a zero for this place I would. One of the worst all round hotels I’ve ever stayed in in my 38 years on this planet. Cold water on the first night in the shower, cockroaches everywhere (they have had this issue for a year). Bad attitude from most staff including breakfeast staff. Meaning we had to go elsewhere for breakfeast as we couldn’t get a basic cup of coffee without copious amounts of sugar. They moved us to another room after o kept complaining and I think the choice was done on purpose as it was incredibly noisy as they only have single glazing. WiFi is terrible considering they are trying to be a boutique hotel they cannot get the basics right. The only great thing about this hotel is the view. The food in the restaurant at night is cold and service is slow because they have one member of staff up there who was incredibly friendly. No one apologises and if you raise issues you’ll feel like a stuck record as they don’t care. In summary, don’t bother, pick elsewhere unless your happy with the above.

I was a regular client of Hotel 47. I only stayed at the premium rooms. I was disrespected a couple of times by the Hotel. One time an unwelcome female friend from my girlfriend was let up to my room without my authorization which disrupted my sleep and peace. This hotel has no security. Sometimes when you get to the entrance, there is absolutely nobody at the lobby entrance and you are left to wait up to 10 minutes if no employee is at the lobby entrance. I also enjoyed a service that the hotel would wash my clothes or send them to wash for me which has always worked out until one cleaning lady has taken one bag of new clothes to wash and when asking the hotel what happened to the clothes, I was asked to patiently wait to investigate where the clothes are because they had to analyze the cameras. I had to endure two month until the hotel told me that the robbed clothes were nothing but an accusation. Why would I accuse of a Hotel where I have been a regular client and stayed over 100+ nights. The day after I went to an excursion in Guatapé and my clothes and personal items were packed in garbage bags and left in a dark standard room without any organization and in a very ignorant fashion. I have yet to receive an official apology by the management or the owner. I am willing to take down this review if the hotel recognizes that I was robbed at their facility and takes full responsibility to pay me back the value of the robbed clothes by the cleaning personal. When I requested to talk to management or the owner I was denied any communication other than the front desk after having been a loyal client up until that moment. Probably owner or management were ashamed to admit the humiliation I had to endure. I now reside at the Mariott Hotel in Medellín and have had zero security issues nor have I been robbed by personal over there. I know it is a different class of hotel but I am a humble person even if I resided in the VIP rooms at the Hotel 47 I had the intention to remain a loyal lifetime client but my loyalty was not valued by Hotel 47. Not to mention. I left tips to literally every staff member daily and what do I get as a thank you - Theft, them stealing my clothes. I can understand honest mistakes butt if you cannot stand behind your mistake, than you should not service customers.

Excellent stay. Beautiful rooms. Very modern. The only negative I had to drive around the block 4 times because the sign was blocked by buses at the front of hotel. But finally found it.

Stay near from the tourist center, but the service is some bad, no hot water, regular breakfast, the meal is worst, bath rooms don't have doors and the water leaks in to the room, no have parking enough. The rooms have torn towels and very thin blankets for visitors. Isn't a familiar place, feel some danger near to the hotel.

The hotel looks quite nice itself, but there are few serious buts. Firstly, the bed was too short. Well, if you're a happy little dwarf it's going to be just fine for you. Secondly, the nightlife noise from the nearest street was unbearable even with a set of first class earplugs. Imagine the whole palette of screams, Colombian music, laughs and street noise. It was all there. Thirdly, the breakfasts are terrible for such hotel. Not to mention the tv, which was hung with such a fantasy, that you could watch it easily from the toilet, but not from the bed. Oh, and the bath in the room was hidden behind the glass door and locked with a key the hotel didn't provide. Besides, you should be extra careful while going for a walk in the hotel's neighbourhood at night, because it's a rather unpleasant area for the tourists.

VIP rooms were great, tho the shower didn't work so well. Location for non local could be a little sketch after dark. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.

If you are from the west and want to get pampered this is NOT the place for you to look further south. For a local place it is good and the staff is great.

Beware of this hotel. Cockroaches in the room, unclean sheets, and outdated. I'd booked for 1 week but unfortunately I had to leave after 1 night-mare experience. I gave it 2 star because of the spectacular roof top view of the city.

The rooms had some structural issues. A glass door for the shower wouldn't close because it hit the floor. A sink was built slightly crooked. The jets from the Jacuzzi spit out green pieces of plants/mold? The rooftop bar and restaurant was nice and the rooms are very cheaply priced so the bargain is good. The hotel is in a very good location. The staff was amazing. Every single person was extremely kind and helpful. I would rate the hotel lower but they were all fantastic with any issues. I could not rate the hotel lower because of them. They should all receive a raise. They deserve to get paid very well for their service.

Booked 2 nights hotel was so bad that the other night I slept somewhere else! 5 cm open space in the room, insects come inside the room, noisy and really cold. Staff member are not having fun in their work and let me wait 3 hours about their cancellation policy ( fill in a form and most probably you get nothing back because of the company policy. Was for me 3,5 months the worst stay in Colombia.

The hotel is not in the best area, but is very modern compared to other hotels in the area. When we arrived, it took the receptionists about 15 minutes to check in EACH person in front of us. We stayed 4 nights and had to basically beg for more towels. They also have a cockroach problem, and the wifi only worked half the time. As for the free breakfast, it was very basic. The two stars is for the enjoyable rooftop bar/restaurant and because we later realized they upgraded our room (not sure if that was on purpose, or by mistake) but we kept the price of a basic room.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. When I first got to my room, there was some hair on the floor in various places, which was a little off-putting. Otherwise the room was clean and well-equipped. The shower in the room could really do with a shower door to prevent water getting all over the floor and making it very slippery. Breakfast was OK.

Great interior design, beautiful terrace with breathtaking view, nice breakfasts, helpful staff. But no one speaks English and rooms have pretty bad insulation. Also as it is located in historical center I would avoid to go out after dark as it doesn't feel safe.

Trendy, with accommodating from desk staff and breakfast on outside terrace with sweeping views of city/mountains. Good, hot meal, with fruit, cereals. Great hostess. Exito! [like Costo/Walmart] a block away. Surrounding streets are a bit too bustling with vendors of fresh vegetables - but central location can't be beat. Excellent metro and tram stop 2 blocks away. Take tram to end of line for cable cars up the mountain -- colorful neighborhoods. You'll get a treat from huge Carmen Miranda mural approaching end of line. Great shopping in dozens of local "malls." Walking is safe. Just don't advertise your bling. Food options numerous, but nothing beats the upscale, inexpensive, and famous Hatoviejo, several locations but Centro one is few blocks away on Calle 52/Avenida La Playa -- second floor, enter side street. Don't recommend casinos. Get room with jacuzzi or retracable roof!

Amazing rooms and helpful staff. The whole room design is really a plus. Too bad the construction workers next to it, waking you up every time. The breakfast area has a stunning view over Medellin.
