From the moment I walked in the door and until I walked out, I felt taken care of and the most excellent service. Would recommend to any of my friends who want to enjoy a five-star experience. Jose at the breakfast Buffett at tables outside by the pool, was one of the best servers and did an amazing job. Well done, and we’ll managed.

I do not like to leave bad reviews but in this case I felt it had to be done. What made write this review was the spa equipment and amenities. The room was not decorated accordingly, the beautiful products smelled like they had already expired and personnel did not have enough towels, supplies and equipment to work with. I believe a spa is all about rest and relaxation and if I pay for a 5 stars hotel I definitely expect 5 starts services. My son and his friend notice rooms were dirty and floors looked like they had not been swept.

Overall we were pretty disappointed with our stay here. The breakfast staff and evening staff were great and very helpful, but the front desk staff during the day were extremely disappointing and many lacked any sort of professionalism. It felt as though we were a burden to them every time we asked for something simple like extra hangers, or for someone to check on the air conditioning when it wasn’t working properly. And when we did follow up on this hours later the person we asked quickly walked away and hid which didn’t really make us feel great. This is the type of customer service you’d expect to experience from a motel, not a 5-star hotel. For the price we paid compared to other hotels in the area, I would definitely recommend staying somewhere else.

Colombians must have a very different concept of what a 5 star hotel is from the rest of the world. Based on the reviews here, the bar is very low. This place is a far cry from a true 5 star hotel, I think they’re self-certifying here. Much closer to a 2 star hotel. No complimentary bottle of water when checking in, but of course you can pay for the water in the fridge. The lighting in the room is awful, at best you can make the room dim. The couch is old and saggy, and has a hole in it, and the wood veneer floors have massive scratches all over. You have to continuously fight with the handle in the shower to maintain constant water temperature. Wifi is not usable in the room itself, and barely usable in the awful space downstairs, so forget working here. Worst of all, is the service. Just abysmal. No hotel bar, and the corner area they do have downstairs has terrible ambiance, small uncomfortable chairs, and a few old super saggy hard couches. It’s Friday night as I type this, and with about 40 people in this small area, only one very bad waitress is attending us all. There’s staff all over, so I’m not sure what they’re doing. Oh, and the pool area has practically no lighting, so forget hanging out there, unless you brought a lantern. Breakfast buffet is the same basic stuff pretty much everyday. Lots of events, and with only 3 elevators for an 18 story hotel, this means lots of time waiting for elevators. Again, this maybe was a 5 star when they opened 40 years ago, now it’s a 2 star, at best. That’s me being generous. I feel ripped off. I would never stay here again, or recommend it to anyone. The entire place and staff needs a massive overhaul. Putting 5 metallic stars in your logo and on your sign out front, does not make you a 5 star hotel.

😡👎I called the hotel, worse experience and professionalism. Manuela Echavarria L worse customer service. I will not ever go back to this hotel. I called ahead of time 4 days to cancel and they refused, then to talk to someone I never got a chance, never forward me to the manager. I highly don't recommend this hotel to any veterans, military or any US citizen, there customer service is horrible especially if you are trying to get help. The people ruined it

This is my second stay. Tried another Medellin hotel in Estadio/Laureles area but returned to Dann Carlton. It is a large hotel recently remodeled; feels new & smells new. Breakfast is excellent w made-to-order eggs including omelettes. Coffee is high quality & continuously refreshed. Parking is included w easy access, safe & clean. Staff is well trained; from bellmen, Ruben at reception to pool assistant & breakfast staff. The restaurant is excellent & reasonably priced should you elect to eat in. Across the street are more excellent eating choices. The El Poblado commercial area is adjacent to the hotel as is a beautiful green space. There is a nearby grocery store & banks.as well. I would recommend booking a junior suite on a high floor (for a great view). Rooms in lower floors look into an adjacent apartment building. Hope this helps making your choice of where to stay.

Not a 5* hotel by any means. No hair drier, no kettle, no tea/coffee in the room. No water, only for purchase. Sub-standard breakfast. There was nobody at the swimming pool to hand out towels. Though, we enjoyed the swimming pool itself. Sound isolation poor. Staff was making noise after 8 p.m. removing furniture in a room next door. The location, however, is very convenient. The hotel is only worth considering if the rate per night is below 100 USD.

Good hotel with resort feeling to it. The room was a nice size. Everything worked. It's probably a little older but it was fine. Breakfast was lovely. Just what we need to start the day. The pool was inviting and my wife spent some time reading there. There were children splashing around. We were close to the elevator and did hear people talking late at night. It didn't last or that could have been annoying. I will stay here again when in town.

Lighting in the rooms can be improved especially in front of the mirror. Toilet is not convenient especially when you need to flush. Poor decoration in the lobby and general areas. Reception staff is proffesional and helpful but does not give a warm feeling. Restaurant staff was great. Location is great. Overall this is more like a business hotel with kind of a "dry" feeling. Lot's of noice especially from the hallway.

Great location with amazing service and friendly staff. Lost a star for issues with the TV. Not a big problem at all, just a bit harsher with my critic as it's a 5 star hotel. Additionally they have 3 wonderful restaurants and the only rotating restaurant in Medellin.

A very good and clean hotel to spend a vacation in Medellin!! All the employees in this hotel are very friendly and attentive to the guests. The breakfasts are excellent and delicious, you will not regret choosing this hotel.

Hotel is very nice. Rooms are roomy and upgraded except for the taps in the sinks in the bathroom. Flow is very slow. Nice lobby and Dining area. Breakfast is excellent. Location is walking distance through the park to the Restaurants.

I stayed for 9 nights and these were some of my observations; I would like to begin saying that Zulli, the housekeeping was the best employee in this location! I stayed in the floor 9 which she handles the cleaning for. She was attentive, charismatic, made great conversations and always left the room spotless. The room was good with a great view. A little smaller than expected but still good. The restaurants and room service food was always good and fresh. On the other hand, some employees need to work on the way to approach hotel guests. They must remember to put on an smile and provide a good service. I suggest to probably provide some quarterly training since some were outstanding while others we could say were "mediocre". Mostly the room service team, they always seem to be in a rush even for me who I tend to be very straight forward. Everytime I ordered room service, the employee on the phone was rushed and with no spark at all. In my opinion, they need some training. Overall, this was a good experience and I do recommend the hotel, however, I do believe they need to work on the previously mentioned.

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel staff was amazing and accommodating with everything. They were super friendly and willing to help with anything anyone needed. The hotel lobby bar was nice and the free breakfast was great too with many different options every day. The location was legit perfect, right near the main area of Poblado with all of the restaurants/clubs/bars etc. just a 5 minute walk away. The area was very safe and definitely walkable. The pool was amazingly clean and so was our room. They also have a Tony Romas on the top floor which was a rotating restaurant which allows you to see the whole view of the city while you eat. The food was fantastic and super cheap (would’ve been hundreds of dollars in New York, and was only $70 for 2 main course dishes, appetizer, bottle of wine etc.) This hotel also had a bank attached to it and they were able to convert cash to COP. Medellin in general was one of my favorite places to visit, and we will 100% stay in this hotel again when we come back. Highly recommend!

I had a horrible experience staying here and I hate to say that because the hotel staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are decent. My issue begins with the hotel bar. Me and a few other guests, a party of 5 went to the hotel bar after having dinner. Let’s forget the slow service because the poor bartender was working completely alone and doing his best. We were sitting near the TV which was playing music very loudly, this was the seating only option. After about 30 minutes we asked that they turn the volume down. We were informed that another party at the bar had the remote, and the bar tender would ask them to lower it. Ultimately they refused, the bar tender informed us they were “important” clients to the hotel and he couldn’t make them change it. Annoying but fine. Well, to spite us the other party ended up turning the TV volume to maximum, making it impossible for us to hear each other. We asked again that it be turned down, that they were doing this intentionally to annoy us. The bar tender got a manager who came over and told us they wouldn’t ask them to turn it down as they were too important and offered us a refill on peanuts. The manager also told us to move to a different room outside of the bar if it was bothering us. We are paying guests as well, we have three rooms booked and had gone to the hotel bar/cafe/restaurant multiple times over the past few days. We pointed this out as well, however this didn’t matter. The hotel does not care for its guests and plays clear favoritism. I will not be coming back nor will I recommend this hotel to anyone I know who travels here. To anyone that takes the time to read this post, there are plenty of other hotels in the area, even on the same block, that will show respect towards their guests and will cost the same. Don’t come here, the price isn’t worth the disrespect.

Good Stay But Beware not what most would consider a 5 Star Hotel. Overall a good stay but do not be fooled this is not a 5 star restaurant, rooms were missing a lot of amenities. Examples: no coffee machine, no hair dryer, no iron, etc. The buffet breakfast was good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The bed was also very comfortable and the location is great for quick access to all parts of the city. We loved the pool as well, had a good time just lounging. Like I mentioned above many amenities were missing for it to be a 5-star plus the rooms looked a bit worn down. Still a good stay but you may need to lower your expectations.

I loved my stay at the hotel ! The staff is very welcoming, nice and always available for any question. The room was better than expected, loved the view and the very very comfortable bed ! 3 restaurants are in the hotel, one at the 18th floor (rooftop with a very nice view) Room service 24/7 The only thing that disappointed me was the extremely expensive laundry service, the price was 4 times cheaper in a laundry two blocks away from the hotel. However , I highly recommend this hotel, and I will for sure go back there anytime soon.

Traditional hotel well located with good facilities. Friendly service at front desk that will look after your needs. It's been an institution in the city and remains as a good choice in the midst of all that El poblado has to offer. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, metro, shops, ...

The hotel is worn down, worst was the AC situation in the room. The room wouldn’t go under 23 degrees Celsius, we call the front desk twice just for them to send up a “technician “ who straight up lied saying that rooms don’t go under 23 degrees Celsius. Completely useless and ridiculous. Slept in a hot room , will never book here again.

My family and I stayed here for 10 days this month and the service was more than excellent. We had many requests throughout our stay (nightly tea, a birthday cake) and each was handled with the best customer service. Our son, whose Spanish is limited, was treated very well and staff were helpful to him at all times. I’d like to shout out the service provided by the the kind woman who cleaned on the 15th floor, Jairo in the main breakfast room, the pool, gym, and spa staff and Felipe at the front door. We will return to the Dann Carlton Medellin.

Water gets really hot randomly. I filled out a card that you put in your door for breakfast and they never brought it. When I asked if I could get lunch included they said no. Again breakfast was included that would have been fair. Located 5 - 8 min walk to all the bars. Decent hotel would have gave it 4 star if the manager would have accommodated me

The Majority of the staff at the hotel are RACIST!! They don't like black people!!! They stare at us and were not very friendly with us, in comparison of how they treated the other guests, they didn't smile back and looked very serious when we greeted them. When we were eating breakfast, the waitress told us that they need our table because there are more people waiting outside to breakfast. Meanwhile a white couple was done eating their breakfast and were chatting and they were there before us. The table next to us was also there before us. The waiters didn't tell them nothing. The next day that I went for breakfast I was going to toast my slice of bread, a waitress told me that I can use the two (BURNED) slices of bread that someone else already toasted. That same day: The glass on the table in our room was broken on the edge and I cut my hand when I tried to move the table further so I can have more space between the couch and the table. When we told and show them my bloody hands and a picture of the broken glass edges, they told us that they will need to check if the glass was already broken. We asked if they’re assuming that WE broke it, he said the manager will contact us. When we were leaving we told them that nobody ever contacted us and the helpdesk officer told us that he “is very sad to hear that”. They did nothing about it!!

Everything here was absolutely amazing. As a solo traveler, safety was a primary concern of mine and I always felt secure at the hotel. Everyone was incredibly nice and super patient with my limited knowledge of Spanish. I will definitely stay here again whenever I come back to Medellin.

Great Location to explore nearby Provenza and Poblado. The service is excellent and the included buffet breakfast was awesome. I had the best sleep on their amazing beds. Great outdoor pool to relax by. WiFi was free too.

This is a very nice hotel with modern amenities. Everything is operated with a remote in your room at the touch of a button. The rooms are very clean with lots of space. The employees that we dealt with were very helpful and nice. Sergio was the man who helped us and his customer service was the best. We enjoyed the pool area with friends and anything we needed given.

Not a 5 star hotel at all. Plumbing is old and very loud. Housekeeping knock on your door all the time and even enters your room at night when you're resting. Food is boring and repetitive, staff is not welcoming and lack empathy. Be aware of your final bill because they may send it to the wrong person as it happened to me. Stay elsewhere in Poblado, this hotel is an old building and staff doesn't seem to care about guests.

My favorite hotel in Medellin, I normally get the suite, but they were all taken. The normal rooms only have one outlet that is not right next to the bed. No iron or ironing board but this service can be paid force. The restaurants are great, good location. Nothing to not like about this hotel, except having to go back home

  • 3/5 Rachel L. 2 years ago on Google
Currently staying here on day 2 of 5 night stay, and the hotel is nice enough, however, I do feel 5 stars is a stretch. The rooms are showing wear (bottom of bathroom door is peeling), common areas are showing age, etc. The reason I am most disappointed is the gym. I chose this hotel based on the gym and most of the equipment is non-functional (all but 1 treadmill is not operational) and most all equipment is outdated. I do have to say, the pool is in great shape if that is what you are after. Breakfast is good, staff is nice, pleasant stay overall just not 5 star.

Outdated rooms, we got at the hotel at 4:30 pm and the rooms were not ready, poor Covid 19 protocols, not at all a 5 star experience, more like a 3… breakfast is ok, nothing to die for…

This is my favorite hotel in all of medellin. Top notch. I would recommend to anyone that has a little extra money to spend to stay here. But it is still very affordable. And they have the best pool in medellin. Heated as well. And lastly they restaurants are first class. Try the risotto.

This was the third time I stayed here. This hotel has the best service out of any hotel I have stayed in Medellin. They really take care of you. I checked out the room last night. I was running late to the airport and they helped me get checked out extremely quick. Also the reception staff is always helpful and really respectful.

Not really a 5* Hotel by any means. No Coffee Machine or Complimentary Water in the Room. Bathroom was small, tired and has noisy WC Flush. Could hear neighbours all through the night. Restaurant Food was good. Pool was good also! They really should commission/build a poolside bar as the one member of Staff could not keep up with orders. Some members of staff could do with some re-training. Some were good some were awful in terms of service.

I booked a room for $50 a night and then, when I had a friend come to go to the jacuzzi, they insisted I pay another $25 for each night. This hotel only makes sense if you plan to use the pool and hot tub by yourself. And if you have no friends. I felt ripped off. I shortened my stay and I won't be going back to this hotel.

  • 1/5 Andres T. 2 years ago on Google
This is a fake 5 stars hotel, super old, cheap amenities, stay away, they have a ridiculous fee of 30$ if you have a visitor. They're just trying to rip off tourists, the room next to mine was having 6 ppl party just because they paid the stupid fee. There are better options in the area.

  • 3/5 TriLife 1 year ago on Google
It's a very dated hotel. They did try to modernize it with remote controlled lights etc, but the implementation is poor and 25% of the lights didn't even work. Toilet seat lid not staying up and banging down, no strainer/plug in the sink etc... The personnel at the reception was very nice. But checkout took 15mins, just because we told them that we had a bottle of water (outrageously priced) and they had to make sure we didn't drink the Minibar dry... Odd... Breakfast is also disappointing, given the huge selection of fruit Colombia has to offer. All they had was sliced papaya and pineapple... Free parking! That's at least something. Didn't use any of the facilities like pool/sauna etc. So can't comment on that

Great hotel, friendly staff the make sure you feel welcome, really clean they have multiple restaurants within, Hugo from the restaurant is always welcoming and Mr Jose during the breakfast are the best!

We just stayed here for 4 nights and our experience was excellent. The hotel is beautiful. The location is excellent, in the heart of Poblado. Great food and restaurants. However, the most important thing was the incredibly attentive staff. I want to give a special thanks to the amazing breakfast staff; Jose and Juan Dario. They were so incredibly attentive and really took care of our family. We were blown away by their attention. When I visit Medellin again I will be sure to stay here.

What a great 5 star hotel,,in the center of everything, free breakfast. Easy to get taxi abs uber. Walking distance to restaurants and very safe neighborhood. Room clean bed comfortable, great views,,black out shades with remote for shades and lights

The hotel looks nice when you first walk in, nice atmosphere and lobby. The rooms are subpar and housekeeping didn’t come one of the days all day. The outlets in our room didn’t work and we didn’t have towels our wash clothes and it took about 2 hours for someone to come up to help. The water in the shower would randomly get EXTREMELY and DANGEROUSLY HOT and the toilet seat cover wouldn’t stay open because of design flaws. The toilet also wouldn’t flush fully unless you held the handle for at least 30 seconds. The restaurant food was not great but the servers were really nice. Would not recommend to stay here at all. Spend a little more money and get somewhere more comfortable/nicer.

Hotel is great but service could be improved . Staff at front desk was short on the phone when questions were asked, they just hung up the phone on me without being nice, I think it was a guy called Rodolfo or something like that. Guests next to me smoked like a chimeney and even though I told staff about the hall smelling like cigarettes, they did very little to correct the situation it's supposed to be a smoke free environment. Other than that it was really nice

This hotel needs MAJOR upgrades. The rooms’ restrooms are not taken care of. For a five start hotel, there’s basically no toiletries. They could definitely improve their cleanliness overall. Breakfast was really good.

Excellent Hotel very luxurious Staff is nice specifically Fellipe bellman very attentive. The persons at front desk when we arrived wasn't friendly not a guest oriented person. His face was looking that he doesn't want to help. Guest service is very important your first impression counts. Frondesk personal needs training for guest service.

Well. I travel a lot on many countries but this is first time in Medellin. Generally, I am not a type of person who write reviews but this detained one. The hotel quality, specially location and general accommodation services are superb. Truly kind, understanding and very attentive receptionist and I can’t thank them enough. I usually travel alone and I felt home during my entire stay. If you are lone traveler you can’t be wrong choosing this hotel to stay if you know what I mean. As I said I don’t write reviews but the main reason I wanted to write is I read unfair review comment by a black person in this thread. I am a black person and I should say something when someone puts unfair comment to this great hotel.

Used to love staying at this hotel but has clearly gone down hill recently. Location is great and the rooms have been renovated but the service was truly awful. Housekeeping often didn't clean the room and food was very basic. On 2 occasions my main course arrived before the starter. Breakfast is poor and that's if you can actually get a table - which is often impossible. Just seemed like people didn't care.
