Highly recommend this restaurant. I went in for the first time during breakfast hours and it was not busy. My order was taken right of way.

The steak tips are the only thing good here. The other food is edible but would rather eat almost anywhere else for anything other than the steak tips. Prices are good for what you get however the food itself just feels average. Always friendly service and always able to get a seat, I guess cause the food is average. If you're visiting Boston, I would suggest find somewhere else to eat.

This place used to be good and this is coming from a life long Southie resident who took someone from out of States there, bragging about how great the food was and we were both very, very disappointed. Will never go there again. The steak was small and tough

Wonderful atmosphere, great food. This is my new favorite restaurant in Boston. Get the item #5 on the menu, it's veryyyyy delicious. Has waffles with cream on it and egg and potatoes, like a combination of breakfast and dessert. Very delicious. Also egg Benedict was good :)

We visited this place on the recommendations of local family. They are regulars and with good reason, I think. First, there is a free parking lot next to the restaurant. Second, it has a nice upscale pub atmosphere. Third, the food and service is good. I had the fish and chips. Nice sized portion that filled me up even though I shared about half of the chips with my wife. I prefer a tangy-er tartar sauce but this was good for the general customer taste imho. I washed it down with a Guinness. My wife had the chicken parmesan sandwich and she enjoyed it...and half of my chips :-) The service was snappy and attentive and we had a party of five. It was not busy at the time we went but this place can definitely handle a large crowd when necessary. Our relatives tell us it has been consistently good for over 15 years. That's quite a record and worth your consideration.

Decided to give this place a try on Saturday night. Had a reservation for 6 people at 7pm but when we got there it was closed. We were out for a special occasion and couldn't get a table for 6 anywhere else at that point. If they had the courtesy to send me an email it would have made all the difference. Never again.

Great spot for brunch! We tried the hash breakfast combo and the Irish Breakfast and both were delicious. Service was fast, even on a weekend morning in March with an event going on on the other side of the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Food here is just as I remember it to be at Muls. I am sad that the diner is gone, but the people are still friendly and the food still good. Just to let you know, the parking lot is monitored so it is strictly for the establishment.

Probably the worst experience I've had in Boston in my life- Server was inebriated and made so many errors we ended up waiting for drinks for almost 30 minutes, which to begin with were not prepared well, my "espresso martini" was basically chocolate milk mixed with vodka. When the entrees came out two were just completely missing; it took talking with three different people and the server again twice to get those corrected. On top of that two of the burgers we got were not the same ones that were ordered and were cooked so poorly that one had to be remade twice, both times more or less inedible. By the time the entire thing was over we were out two hundred bucks and what had been suggested by the manager would be compensated was not- we were in a hurry had an itinerary to keep and it wasn't worth causing a scene to dispute. While this was going on, multiple other tables seemed to be having issues as well which made the entire atmosphere extremely uncomfortable. I work in restraunts, I know how difficult and stressful it can be when one thing after another goes wrong, sometimes the night just doesn't go your way but this was wholely unacceptable and charging us for the entirety of that bill was laughable/irresponsible. The bolognese however, as it's fair to say- was very good.

Great place!! They have a decent selection of ten draft beers as well as many different bottled beers. Also a nice selection of bourbons. I had the chicken parm with penne which was very good as well as being huge. I took more than half home for later. Had a few Blue Moons and a Hudson Baby Bourbon rocks. My server Kara was super friendly. They also serve breakfast 7 days a week. There is outdoor seating available and they have a large parking lot. This an old time bar that has been remodeled but still maintains that “old time feel”. I highly recommend you stop in. You’ll be glad you did.

Pricey but good. Little shorthanded when we were there but waitress told us upfront. Meals were good but small portions. Most people don't mind paying a bit more if portions are decent. I would still come back.

It's a fun place to meet old friends and catch up. In my younger days it was always a place to impress a date with good service and great food. From a Southie kid that no longer lives in what now is Yuppie Vill, but I still love it.

  • 2/5 Jeffrey M. 2 years ago on Google
Really wanted to love this place. Food is decent, but wow service is snail crawl slow. Sat myself, asked the bartender to take our order. If it took any longer I would have cooked myself. I get it... employees are non-existant right now, but this was tough.

I went for brunch. Food is delicious. Menu has some classic breakfast food and some Amrheins' signatures like the Creme Brulee French Toasr...AMAZING (see photo). I definitely recommend. It gets crowded so make sure to book a reservation. Only 4 stars because they sat a table of 7 who didnt have a reservation before my group that did have a reservation.

  • 2/5 Alan D. 2 years ago on Google
Just ok. Went here for brunch and the breakfast foods are reasonably priced but just very average quality. Eggs benny was underwhelming. Another reason for only 2 stars is that there’s no baby changing tables in either the men’s are women’s room.

  • 3/5 Wolfram S. 2 years ago on Google
Good atmosphere in a traditional restaurant. The food was ok (eggs benedict) but not overwhelming. I was surprised that they did not serve cappuccino but only drip coffee.

Went there for Sunday brunch. Staff was friendly. Food was excellent. Service was fast. Prices were fair. We ordered a creme brulee french toast and buffalo chicken dip. Both were excellent and the portions were just right.

This place is 2 restaurants in 1. Breakfast is Mul's Diner @ Amrheins and lunch/dinner Amrheins. The waitress Bailey was awesome and gave good recommendations for food and things to do in Boston. I love me some good food and customer service. The corbeef hash and crem bule french toast was all that. The best I ever had and I have had plenty. Lunch on day one was delicious as well. Thanks for a wonderful experience Bailey. #makingmemories2023 #justustwo #foodielife

Great restaurant in Boston! We were visiting from Florida and made friends with Jaime and Renee. Great people, great food and great atmosphere. Thank you all for the fond memories of our trip to Boston.

  • 5/5 Martin R. 10 months ago on Google
We had brunch there twice, breakfast once, and the building felt historic, service was very friendly and helpful, The portions were all large and we enjoyed the pancakes and repeated the crème brulé french toast, more desert than breakfast, but not what you get back in England so fun for some more American and Boston experience. My 18 year old son had the breakfast steak. Which was super tasty but we were all frankly stuffed before starting our day of visiting the tourist sites.

Over several days we had dinner and several breakfasts. All were very, very good. The eggs were perfectly cooked every time and the portions were plenty to get your through the day. The clam chowder was very good and the fish & chips were perfectly cooked. It's a great neighborhood place with great food, portions and service.

Had a great meal with my companion here. Sat at the bar and the attention from Nicole was impecable. The food was super fresh and delicious. One of the best grilled chicken breasts i have ever had with my salad. Highly recommend this place!

One of the best dining experiences in Boston in a while..first off was the availability of parking without having to driving around Boston for 30mins getting hangry that in itself is like finding a unicom. The host was super friendly our server Gomez was also upbeat and friendly. A assorted bread plate was brought to our table almost immediately along with cold water with actual ice in it I am happy to have found a better quality restaurant that still has ice in its water! We ordered drinks red sangria , white sangria,,& a pear martini and a Eggplant stack appetizer. The drinks where expertly made and delicious. The Eggplant was the BEST I have ever had nice thick slices of Eggplant with layers of cheese perfectly cooked it's definitely what will bring me back to this restaurant. For dinner we ordered the Chicken pot pie and Cobb salad The chicken pot pie was topped with a fabulous puffed pastry and Mashed potatoes it was the perfect comfort food on a cold Wednesday night in Boston and the cobb salad was perfectly done the avocado was at the right amount of ripeness the bacon was plentiful and well cooked and the grilled chicken was the best in Boston in flavor and still nice and moist perfect for the salad the one down side was the dressing it wasn't memorable at all but I'm not a big salad dressing user so it wasn't a problem for my the creaminess from the avocado and blue cheese crumble more than made up for it. We will definitely be back

The atmosphere was nice, as were the servers. I think if we went during dinner time that we would have had a greater selection for food options. What we had was okay, but not great.

Corn beef hash is the best. Irish breakfast is solid. Bloody Mary is great if you like a little horseradish to spice it up.

Our server, Chloe, was great. We were a large group of 12 people. She got all our orders right! She was efficient and cheerful. Good prices. My Reuben sandwich was just ok. The sweet potato fries were hot and crispy!

Just had my daughter's sweet 16 and the food was great but the servers were beyond amazing. They totally made it a blast and went above and beyond. I can't put in words the service we received from Jamie and her team.

A South Boston staple since 1890, from breakfast to lunch or dinner, you just can't go wrong at Amreihn's. The corned beef hash in the morning is the absolute best I've ever had anywhere. The lunch time sandwiches in the afternoon are delicious. And if you're out alone or doing a date night, the steak tips and mash are as good as you'll get anywhere in town. Everything else on the menu comes in at a close second.

Lovely early dinner. Had a great waitress with quick service and a nice chat about her little girl...she was hustling with service as well as cleaning up after a big group with lots of kid spills. But Maybe turn the Bruins down a touch the dining area 😉 Look forward to going back.

Best home fries I've ever had. Hands. Down. The food came out very quickly. They have maple syrup right on the table so you can have as much as you want, unlike some places where you only get a little thimble of it on the side of your meal. The pancake tacos I had were something I hadn't seen served elsewhere before; they were delicious with either ketchup or syrup.

Stopped by for breakfast a few times during our visit to South Boston. Our server Sam was awesome. The breakfasts plates are delicious! I splurged and tried their creme brulee French toast... OMG!!!

  • 1/5 Cj J. 2 years ago on Google
It started with not even being greeted or any type of acknowledgement by anyone on staff. My party was of 4. There's was no sign saying please seat your self nor a sign saying wait to be seated. Staff cleaned a nearby table but didn't acknowledge us to the point where a patron told us it was self seating. That was not accurate. Still we sat, with not as much as head nod or eye contact.... long story short not even 1 min after we sat our selves we felt like this was not a business for us to support. This party of 4 was all black... we were the only ones... maybe they have a reputation, im not familiar with but they are not shy about their ignorance. However the parking lot attendant was very helpful he suggested My Diner down the street and it's going to get a great review.

A great diner experience! This historic joint Amrheins combined with Mul's Diner protects the tradition and maintains the original offering. You get what you came to eat...period...and if you haven't ever had the Corned Beef Hash, then you just need to get in just to have it. The server said..."it is the best in the world"...I trust her. It is simply delicious.

While having it's own parking lot is definitely a bonus in Boston, the taste and quantity of the food is certainly top notch. We did note that the menu has been scaled back a bit from what was on the website; a bit disappointed the swordfish was one of the culled items, but the haddock was quite good. The Boston Cream pie (that's actually a cake) was a great finish. As to the service; not a single complaint. Friendly, quick and smiling.

I like this place for the history. Food is ok. More of a beer and basic, old school cocktails place. Staff is great depending who serves you. I have not been since it was sold for 18 mil.

Had a great dinner at Amrheins Restaurant!!! The service was excellent from the moment we arrived and Meaghan is a wonderful waitress! Great ambiance and seasonal decor inside. The drinks were really good and I enjoyed the pink mule (pretty sweet). The green tea shots were the best I’ve ever had! I got the chicken parm as an entree which I would highly recommend!! It was a hearty serving and delicious! The only critique I have is we called prior about the drink menu and did not have a pleasant phone call experience. The person who answered the phone was not super willing to help and hung up on my friend. Despite this I would still recommend Amrheins!

I came in for the Muls breakfast. Service was fine. The breakfast was very average. Nothing to write home about. The coolest part of this place is the building and its age.

The restaurant has an amazing authentic atmosphere and feels to it. I would suggest making a reservation ahead of time as the place gets quite full from 6 pm. The food is simply delicious and is not too pricey, and the staff is so friendly. It’s a great restaurant whether you’re there as a family, group of friends or special nights with your partner. Highly recommended!!

Nice setting but was a bit disappointed in the food. The meatloaf was really good but the food arrived kinda cold. They didnt have most of the dishes that my wife wanted and being a Saturday that was a bit surprising. Over all a nice place, maybe ut was an off bight for them. The wings with cilantro was amazing! I would suggest getting that! Waiter was very friendly. We dont complain about food or send anything back if anyone is wondering. Just our experience
