We are a trucker, parked at Cabelas for the night. My husband missed this place. We had that Onion which is yummy and a Sampler for $29 that was a great choice if you wanna try there 4 kind of meat it's was really good. Great service she's funny. Love the ambiance. Clean restroom too.

The hostess was welcoming and accommodating and set a wonderful tone for our evening. We were met by a friendly and attentive waitress who did a very good job. The drinks and food were served in a timely fashion and looked great. There was only one issue, my steak was ordered medium but cooked well done. Accidents happen but I feel a steak house should be able to prepare a steak to perfection. Our waitress offered to cook another but I wanted to eat with my partner, not 15 minutes later so I said not to bother, she spoke with the manager who offered a $10 discount which I felt was pretty cheap and didn't show any ownership for their mistake. I think 50 percent of my main plate ($32) would have been a reasonable gesture. None the less I did finish the steak as that was what I went there for. Aside from being dry from being overcooked, it was a nice cut.

Delicious! Great service, delicious food and okay prices. But understand with inflation....everything is high. Would highly recommend Woodland Nachos! Never can go wrong with a filet mignon either!

This place has really good food. I ordered cheese curds and a 15-ounce prime rib dinner with garlic mashed potatoes "loaded" and green beans. It is also in a great location for truckers because it is across the street from a quick trip that has semi parking. There is also a bass pro shop or cabela's with semi parking just behind the restraunt. The downside would be the price. It's definitely a little pricey, but you get a lot of food .

I have always loved this restaurant ever since my family brought me as a child. The food tastes absolutely amazing and the wait staff are the nicest people I have ever met, specifically Jenny Savoie. She treated us like family and made us feel very welcome and happy.

Not impressed. Steaks were overcooked, green beans were awful. The salad was good but not $5 worth. The decor was awesome. There were flies and knats interrupting the whole meal. The greater wasn't friendly but our server Angela was great. For $80. I'd expect better.

Food and service were excellent. Only reason I didn't give 5star on food is the sweet potato fries were a bit under done. Nash, our server, was excellent, very friendly and informative, suggesting the tri tips and they were fantastic. Nice warm rustic atmosphere, staff very friendly from the time you walk in. We'll be back, driving over an hour is worth it for date night.

Great Natural Atmosphere! Amazing food with great taste and quality! My second time coming here with family and this time I got the Shrimp hoagie with fries. Great Hoagie! I haven't had a shrimp hoagie in a while but this was very good! Soft hoagie bread with tasty shrimp and sauce flavors on the inside. Fries were fresh and crispy yet soft on the inside with that classic steak fry flavor!

I had real high hopes for this place. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. The problem: took them 45 minutes to seat us. Once seated and ordered it took over an hour to get our food with little to no communication. Once the food came out it was cold. None of us ate the full meal. If you know me I would even eat a well done steak. These steaks had zero flavor. They comped $50 buck for our trouble. And I still had to pay $150 for the other meals we did not eat. I will never go there again and I highly recommend you guys avoid this place. I will be posting a video review soon as well.

Terrible and overpriced. Our food took forever. We requested bread and our server told us she was going to grab it. She didn’t. We asked again. She never came back until our food came. No bread. I ordered my steak Medium Rare. I received a steak that was Well Done. After I complained to the waitress, she brought the cook out. He literally said and I quote “When people order steaks Medium Rare, I always cook them way passed that. Most people don’t know what Medium Rare means. And I get less complaints if I cook them longer.” That was it. They didn’t offer to recook my steak. They both walked away. And the waitress didn’t come back until she brought us the bill. Which I was charged full price for the steak. When I asked her to take it off, as I didn’t eat it and it wasn’t cook how I ordered, she offered to take $10 off. This place is a joke.

We were traveling through. Stopped in for a morning brunch. They weren't very busy but that was bc they had just opened. Very clean, waiter was attentive and polite. I ordered the french dip sliders very good. And order came out in a decent time. Would come back again.

We enjoyed our visit and the food was good. The time of service from sit down to finish was excellent. Our server was pleasant. The improvements that could have helped were sweet potato fries and vegetables were not as warm as expected (on the cooler side). The breading on the fish was a bit too soft and moist. We also did not receive any bread. Our server was not available when we were looking for her (perhaps went on break?).

It was my first time there and man, everything was just delicious. Server (forgot his name) was attentive, food quality was awesome. My sirloin steak (they call it the Viking) was a bit medium-rare to rare (I asked for medium) and the prices are a bit too pricey but other than that, I'd highly recommend eating there again.

Good food, good service. A tad pricey but it just may be the fact everything is pricey. We had wanted to try this for a while. Not too impressed with ambiance, not a huge variety of items on the menu. Overall it was good although not enough to come back.

Billed as The Lodge in the Heart of the City, even though it several miles outside of Rochester, it’s small city attitudes and friendliness makes a enjoyable place for an excellent dinner. While it’s rustic on the outside, it’s elegant on the inside, with a few reminders of those great hunting days mounted on the walls, almost ready to leap off. A beautiful, well-stocked bar and a cordial waitstaff works hard to be sure you have everything you need for an awesome dinner. The very ample menu has 14 appetizers, at least 5 salads, 18 dinners and pastas, 10 cuts of 21-day aged Black Angus Beef along with lots of add-ons and sides plus plenty of dessert choices. A very enjoyable experience to remember for a long time!

Had a nice lunch here and it's pretty much what I remember; up north decorations, pleasant service. The restaurant smelled incredible like smoked meats. Lunch was good. I will miss the Timberlager beer. The chicken wings are incredible, worth the drive by themselves. The cheese curds and our bbq burger were okay. Pricing was expected too. Very convenient right off of the interstate and next to Cabelas.

Staff was great when we saw them. I ordered the prime rib but it was too salty to eat. They didn't even look into it, no discount no apologizes. Won't be back because this seems to be an ongoing problem. Milissa Kruse

Just so people know there is no more lunch menu and also they don't have the individual loaf of bread. They also add a 3.5% charge to your bill... Service was pretty slow and we were the only ones there. The waitress was wonderful and I felt bad for her. The food itself was awesome but just want to give people a heads up about all the changes

Timber Lodge was our go-to restaurant choice, until they all went away. Glad to have found the last one! The servers were helpful and genuinely nice. The adults in our party have all previously worked in the food service industry, and we commented on many little things that we liked seeing. The host station wrapping silverware, the layout of the tables, and bags for the leftover bread. Everyone was happy with their meal. I would like more description on the "house salad", as it has bacon and that threw off my vegetarian sibling. The new rolls are not as good as the old honey-wheat bread, but I understand that times change.

I have mixed thoughts about this place. My walleye was good, but nothing special. My wife's Sunday Special prime rib was a little on the tough side. And where was the horseradish? They had a great choice of draft beers and I tried the Castle Cream Ale which was very good. The white wine we were served was too cold, and it was kind of expensive. The atmosphere was very pleasant and rustic. The staff that we interacted with were fine. My biggest complaint is that there is a 3.5% surcharge added to your meal if you pay by credit card. I didn't see this noted in any conspicuous location until we got the bill. I certainly understand that credit card companies are hurting businesses with their fees, but if you are going to punish your customers let them know up front, so they can have cash if they want to. Better yet, just consider credit card fees part of the cost of running a restaurant and price meals accordingly. Next time we pass through town at dinner time, we will probably eat at Famous Dave's. I think their food is a little better, it's cheaper and unless they've changed recently, they don't charge a credit card surcharge.

Went out for a late lunch on a Sunday. Our waitress was very nice, but we had to wait several minutes for our drinks to be refilled. Food took a very long time to get. Thankfully my pasta (Steak & Mushroom) was delicious. The sauce was one of the best pasta sauces I’ve ever had. Sadly not all of my steak tips was cooked the same...some were medium and some were medium-well. The wild rice soup was decent. I liked the wooden cabin feel. The Christmas lights intertwined with tinsel was somewhat odd for summer

First thing walking in you see that juicy rotisserie chicken rotating in the oven 🤤 That's not what I ordered though I got the parmesan and herbs crusted chicken dinner with green beans, cheesy hashbrowns, and a big ceasar salad. I left very fat and happy especially after dessert which was ice cream with strawberry and cherry glaze 🤤🤤🤤

Experience started great. Got seated, drinks and buns right away. Placed appetizer. That was great. Then we sat with empty drinks for most of our meal. Never got more buns besides the first 4. Also ordered soup but never got it.

We stopped here for dinner after looking at houses in the area. It was okay. 75c wings were good. Cheese curds were good. My gf and I both agreed that our entrees were just okay. The desserts looked very good and the cheesecake was delicious, so that saved my review from being a 2. Good service, though. Nice people.

I took my family there for our Easter celebration the day before Easter. The food was good, I knew it would be but it was the service we received that really impressed me. I wish I would have gotten our waiters name. I can't say enough good about the fantastic service. Thank you so very much for making our day so special. My daughter and her family are moving a long ways away and this was our last big meal that we were able to be together before they move and you guys made it extra special. Thank you.

I ordered takeout. I've always had an amazing experience here. The people are awesome and of course the food is great too. I got the Friday special and it didn't disappoint. A big steak cooked exactly how i like it, a baked potato with the toppings to put on it, and seasoned green beans. The beans are really tasty. I'm posting a photo, but it's from before i loaded the potato with all the goodies. I have leftovers for at least one more meal which is great. I got the brownie for dessert. It comes with icecream and whipped topping and fudge drizzle... yummy. I can hardly wait to put it together and eat it, however, it'll have to wait until later when I'm not as full. Looking forward to coming back next time I'm through the area. From what I've experienced, your staff at this location is amazing. Thank you. 🙂

Tabitha was a fun server/bartender. Tap beers and a Paul Bunyan onion did not disappoint! Chatted a bit with the chef when he came by for a (1919 rootbeer) beverage. Glad we stopped by on our way home.

Went for the prime rib special both dinners the meat was tough you couldn't cut it with the knife. I asked for rare and friend ask for medium rare. Both came out rare and tough. They exchanged the next ones were also tough no flavor. Won't be back. Didn't have to pay but very disappointed. In the past it was great under new management

Was good food but would of been nice to be offered a different vegetable. I don't like green beans. I do love their bread but believed it was a little overcooked

The wife and I drove over an hour to go here. What an awesome dinner. First time in long time we didn't have to send anything back cause it was cold. Meal was Devine. Server was top notch she was ahead of us before we even asked. We most definitely will be back!!!

Great place to eat, would recommend the Mosquito Bite appetizer. Got the Chainsaw Burger and it was perfect, the right amount of sauce and the grilled cheese buns were nice and crisp. My Fiancée got the Philly cheese steak sandwich and she loved every bite.

Their prices have increased drastically. Nothing extra but bread. If you want soup or salad, its extra which is a bust because it use to be a staple of why someone may go to Timberlodge.

  • 1/5 Laurie H. 3 years ago on Google
Our service and wild rice soup were good. The other food was a completely different story. The Praire Chicken was the thinnest, driest piece of chicken breast I had ever had. I had trouble cutting through the bacon and chicken with a steak knife. It was clear that the plate sat under the heat light because the melted cheese and top layer of the mashed potatoes were tough. The Iron Ranger had zero flavor. After we tried to "flavor it" with salt and pepper, the only thing we tasted WAS the salt and pepper. My husband said, " It's sad when a baked potato has the most flavor." This is the first time we've patronized Timber Lodge post-COVID. I don't know if this restaurant's quality is a casuality of the COVID craziness or what. Regardless, our experience was $68.00 (not including the tip because our server did receive his fully earned 20%) spent on a terrible meal.

Food was served quickly, but Hubby sent his back because it was overdone. He ordered medium rare and came out medium well! Server was quick, attentive and friendly. The food was ok, no real flavor to it, but it was hot and edible.
