Disappointing service, Mediocre food I recently visited cafe Savage brunch spot with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The service was particularly disappointing, as our server seemed inattentive and partially forgot our order. One of my friends ordered a soup and croissant combo, but the croissant was completely forgotten. Another friend ordered a BLT sandwich, only to discover that it arrived without any bacon. These mishaps not only disrupted our meal but also left us feeling neglected. While the overall food quality was average, it failed to compensate for the lackluster service and the errors in our orders. The flavors were decent, but the lack of attention to detail was evident. It's disheartening when such basic components of a dish are overlooked, undermining the overall dining experience. Given the number of brunch options available, I find it hard to recommend this particular spot. In a competitive market, it's crucial for establishments to prioritize consistency and attentive service to meet customer expectations. Unfortunately, this brunch spot fell short in both areas, leaving a less-than-impressive impression on me and my friends. Hoping they can improve their service and food!!

Outstanding brunch! Every single dish was delicious. We tried the breakfast sandwich with flaky croissant and ordered exquisite truffled fries. For dessert, we had the Nutella crepes which were just amazing; perfect to close our brunch session. Additionally, service was exceptional, everyone was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this vibrant place.

A seemingly charming brunch cafe on Mass Ave, Café Sauvage left a strong impression with its exquisite dishes, though the service left something to be desired. Among the dishes we ordered, one standout was the Duck Eggs Benedict. It featured a melt-in-your-mouth duck confit, balanced beautifully with hash brown potatoes, fresh arugula, and a flavorful caraway hollandaise. The Yassa Chicken Sandwich was equally delicious, with its incredibly tender pulled chicken and unique Mayomust sauce adding a touch of creaminess that contrasted beautifully with the crunch of iceberg lettuce and pickles. The Avocado Toast was a minor letdown. The concoction of beet hummus, feta, and fresh vegetables was appealing, yet the toast was a bit too hard. ON a brighter note, the Red Pear Waffle concluded our meal on a high. The crunchy Liege waffles coupled with the creamy vanilla ice cream was pure decadence. The refined touch of wine-infused pears and lemon zest lent a nuance complexity, lifting the dessert to a sophisticated level. However, where Café Sauvage missed the mark was its service. Slow and seemingly disinterested, the staff blended too much into the restaurant’s relaxed vibe, leaving diner needs unmet. The decision to serve all dishes at once on small tables was an oversight that felt out of place in the otherwise classy establishment. While their nonchalant style might be deemed as “French”, it lacked the attentiveness expected in an establishment of this caliber. Despite its culinary prowess, Café sauvage seems more apt for a relaxed brunch than a special occasion, given its lackluster service. This shortcoming underscores a missed opportunity to ascend from great to truly remarkable.

We had a great brunch today. Almond croissant and French toast. The croissant was comparable to the ones we had in Paris this spring. The brioche French toast was superb. It was garnished with fresh fruit and syrup. The 2 coffees were also very delicious. William was our waiter and was extremely cordial and attentive. He also speaks French since he is from the 10th arrondissement in Paris. We highly recommend this great restaurant.

Came here on a late Saturday’s afternoon. We really enjoyed the overall atmosphere and the foods. The croissant sandwich has flaky crust, the perfectly melted cheese on top of the scrambled eggs. It also comes with a side salad. My boyfriend also liked the crispy chicken sandwich with fries.

Didn't step one foot inside this place but I loved it. Ensconced in Back Bay, this French delight hits all the right spots. I had a Caesar salad which was the most decked out Caesar salad I've ever had. It had corn, tomatoes, and olives along with the classics. The ginger beer they offered was the perfect pairing for dining outside. I was a little nervous because I had heard they only spoke French but the servers spoke English so it was all good.

Review for Café sauvage 🌺☕ Address: 25 Massachusetts Ave, Boston, MA 02115 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - “Great” A morning at Café Sauvage is like stepping into a page torn from a contemporary chic magazine, where the essence of Boston’s brunch scene is captured in every detail. Service 🙋‍♀️ Arriving just before the brunch rush, we were greeted by the amiable Celine, whose service was as refreshing as the morning dew. She navigated our dining experience with a gracious ease, ensuring our wait was comfortable and our needs swiftly met. While the service didn’t rewrite the hospitality rulebook, it was the kind of steady and reliable presence that one appreciates when easing into the day. Decor 🎨🌿 The cafe’s aesthetic is a love letter to modernity and style, with a flourish of greenery that brings vitality to the space. It’s where the pulse of urban life meets the serenity of nature, creating an “Instagram-worthy” environment. The foliage is not just decoration; it’s the breath of the room, infusing each corner with life and making the ambiance something to behold. The photos I’ve shared only begin to capture the visual poetry of Café Sauvage. Food 🍽️🥪 The menu, a testament to the café’s culinary prowess, turned a skeptic like me, a champion of quantity, into a believer in quality. The quiche of the day, a perfect harmony of ham and cheese, and the Yassa chicken sandwich were revelations on the palate. My girlfriend’s BLT - sans fromage due to her dairy aversion (jury’s still out on that one) - was equally praiseworthy. Each dish, though not as abundant as one might hope, was a masterclass in flavor, leaving no room for anything but satisfaction. The brunch menu, which I’ve uploaded for the curious gourmands, showcases a spread that promises and delivers greatness. In Retrospect 🤔 Café Sauvage is not just a café; it’s a gastronomic haven that marries beauty with taste. It’s the kind of place where the food is as photogenic as the setting, and every bite is a reminder that sometimes, less really is more. Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - “Great” “Café Sauvage: Where Brunch Becomes an Art Form and Every Bite a Masterpiece.” In a city brimming with culinary choices, Café Sauvage stands out as a beacon of quality and ambiance. Whether it’s for the allure of the decor or the symphony of flavors, this café is a must-visit for locals and travelers alike. 🌟🍳🍃

Croque Madam was delicious, as the bread was fluffy and the egg was creamy. The side salad was super fresh too. Sauvage Mama Breakfast was a bit disappointing, as there wasn’t enough seasoning in the eggs. Environment is super nice with all the plants!

All the drinks are good, the coffee have strong coffee taste and the Taro Latte is very creamy even when they use oat milk. The food are very filling and would do alterations as we requested. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Thou the cafe is a bit crowded and noisy but it cannot be helped.

Sometimes I find a place I don't want to review, because it's such a gem that I'm afraid if everybody knows about it I'll never be able to get in again. This french cafe, very small, but filled to the brim with delicious food fits the bill. I tried the onion soup... Not something I'm normally super fond of but I wanted something warm. It was the best french onion soup I've ever had. Super cheesy, extremely flavorful, the bread somehow toasty even when soaked. The workers are all speaking french to one another, and everyone around me was raving about the food. I can't wait to try some of the other items (avocado toast seemed quite popular) The 45 minute run to get there was worth every bead of sweat. Next time I deserve a croissant.

I loved it! Could be my favorite restaurant in Boston. The injera crepe was delicious and so creative. The sweet crepe is definitely the best I’ve had in Boston. Wonderful service. So happy to know that they exist. Can’t wait to go back!

I'd passed by this place many times, unsure whether this was a counter-service kind of cafe, or a sit-down cafe. Finally read the reviews and decided to come for a quick breakfast on a Tuesday morning around 8:15am. We were asked if we wanted a table, and since we were the only ones there, we got to choose whichever one we wanted. Within the next half hour, a few people came in to get drinks to-go. I ordered an iced rose latte with oat milk, and an almond chocolate croissant. I really enjoyed the latte, as it had a nice floral taste without being overwhelming. The croissant was also good, but I think next time I'll just get the almond croissant without chocolate. The service was quick, but we never felt rushed. The space is beautiful, with lush greenery all around. I'd definitely come back for breakfast, or also brunch with girl friends.

Café Sauvage is PHENOMENAL! We went there for brunch twice already and tried several of the menu items, all delicious! Authentic French food, croissants are amazing. Owners are also super nice! Some of our favorites were: Croque Madame (best one in Boston by far), Omelette with mushrooms, Crepes Nutella, and Avocado Toast. Elaborate and interesting flavors, each dish surprises you. A must try in Boston!

    • Very lovely and nice place to gather with friends/colleagues. • Located right on MA Ave, very closed to the downtown, shopping walking street • Yummy foods and coffees, there are styles of coffees for your choices. • The portion is quite generous, if possible you can share for various dishes trial.

I had an amazing experience at Cafe Sauvage! The food and drinks were simply amazing. I had the Nutella crepes and was pleasantly surprised as they were very authentic and tasty (and I am from France). The waiters are very friendly and make sure everyone is seated promptly despite the fact that the restaurant is on the smaller side and tends to be popular on the weekends. If you're looking for a great brunch experience in Boston at an affordable price, look no further!

This place is such a hidden gem! Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are so beautiful. Everyone was very professional and kind. I had a glass of Rosé and the Croque Madame - everything was so delicious! The bread was so light and fluffy. It was a massive meal but felt so light and healthy! I can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu!

Great vibes, great service. The croque madam was the best dish we ordered, duck Benedict and banana bread French toast were great too. Prices are also reasonable for the portion size. Would recommend!

We visited this black owned establishment on Saturday, July 30, 2022. I made a reservation prior to online for 7:30 PM. Upon arrival parking is a bit difficult, but we did find street parking for free. Once we arrived to the restaurant there was a beautiful outdoor patio vibe. This patio reminded me of the outdoor dining seating I’ve seen in Paris. We were greeted by the host who stated we could sit anywhere we wanted. The restaurant was clean, modern, had a mellow café type of ambience, and beautiful jungle decor. The owners named the place Café Sauvage which means wild in French. We decided to sit at a lovely table by the entrance and our waitress came over quickly. The waitress’s name was Lisa and she informed us that the QR code menu on the table would provide the menu options. We did notice it was a bit warm in this restaurant temperature wise. Lisa the waitress turned out to be pretty disappointing since the service she provided was mediocre. When I asked her about specific menu items, she really didn’t have any clue and it was very unhelpful. We ordered the following menu items: lamb meatballs, hibiscus margarita, coffee, crispy zucchini, French onion soup, bissap, château rouge, shrimp cavatelli pasta, and grapefruit millefeuille. We received our beverages shortly after ordering. The hibiscus margarita had a rich hibiscus flavor and a nice sweet tone. My mother‘s coffee was not fresh and when she added cream it turned lukewarm. She brought this to Lisa’s attention and she poured more lukewarm coffee over it. Lisa really didn’t check on us at all. I will say the owner Antoine really saved the night. He came to us and he offered to brew her an Americano which was fresh. He brought the coffee right to the table and my mother greatly enjoyed it because it was nice and hot. Shortly after this, I received my French onion soup and my mother received her crispy zucchini. The French onion soup was simply delicious. It had perfect cheese toast on top and a semi dense consistency with loads of onion. I didn’t taste or see any bone marrow as advertised however. The crispy zucchini was crispy and had a beautiful breaded coating on top with complementary sauce to match. The lamb meatballs were my favorite part of the meal. The gravy included was simply delicious! They were savory, tender, and scrumptious. Lisa never came back over to our table, so Antoine checked on my mother’s food and brought it right to the table. My mother enjoyed the shrimp pasta, but she stated that the pasta shells were a bit too al dente. She said that the dish was seasoned very well however. Antoine brought us some bissap on the house. It wasn’t sweet, but it was however refreshing. As soon as I ordered dessert with Antoine, it was brought right to the table shortly after. This dessert was refreshing and light. It was a flavor explosion of fruit fusion. I also had the Château rouge, which was refreshingly unsweet. I also used the restroom at this location which was clean, but appears to be a bit dated. I hope the owners will update the restrooms to match the front of the restaurant. Antoine definitely saved the evening with his extreme hospitality so we couldn’t help but tip him for his excellent service. I do feel that Lisa needs some work and I’m not sure if she’s new. She definitely was inattentive, not a good listener, and not knowledgeable of the menu. For example, one of the employees attempted to give me an eggplant dish which I did not even order. Lisa probably put this order in mistakenly thinking that we ordered it, when we didn’t. We weren’t charged for this because I had them send it back. Antoine made sure this was taken off of our bill so we weren’t charged for this. If Antoine hadn’t have stepped in, this review would be 2 stars not 4 stars. If you go and Lisa is your waitress, just know you’re not gonna get good service! Overall we had a nice experience due to Antoine’s professionalism and attentiveness. I would recommend this French black owned restaurant to everyone in Boston, especially if Antoine is waiting on you.
