It is believed that before coming to Ayodhya, one should visit Hanuman Ji who is seated in Hanumangarhi. Because when Ram Ji had given this temple to Hanuman Ji, then he had said that whenever the devotees come to Ayodhya, they will first have darshan of Hanuman Ji. This is described in our Atharvaveda. Let us tell you that devotees have to climb 76 steps to see Hanuman Ji. Hanuman Chalisa and Chaupaiyan are written on all the walls of this temple. According to religious beliefs, if any devotee offers red Chola to Hanuman Ji in this temple, then he gets freedom from all kinds of defects. Here in the main temple, there is an idol of Anjani Mata with Bal Hanuman.

You’ll need to climb up numerous steps in order to enter the temple premises. There are many sweet shops nearby from where you can buy prasad to offer inside the temple and you can also keep your footwear at these shops or rent a locker. You need to be cautious of the monkeys here. The temple mostly is very crowded specially on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Ancient Hindu temple. Beautiful and full of colors. People visit this temple before visiting Ram Lalla. We went there on a Thursday morning and it was surprisingly not very crowded.

Yesterday, when I visited after long time, everything was properly managed. It was very clean, Pujari was very cooperative. Highly revered place. To enjoy and to have proper darshan, I will recommend morning time. For disabled and weak and children, i will recommend to back side VIP gate entry. Few steps need to be managed from that side also, but it is far more comfortable.

Blissful experience. Visited on the day of Bada Mangalwar. It wasn't too crowded around 4 pm but the crowds started increasing as we were leaving.

Hanuman Garhi is a famous temple in Ayodhya. It is believed that Lord Hanuman (Pavan Putra) lived here guard Ayodhya. You will find here a beautiful idol of Bal (young) sitting on lap of Maa Anjani at the main temple.

This temple closes for 1 hour every day and reopens after 1 o'clock. Because of the famous place, so many prasad shops, food shops and every kind of things available nearby this temple. No any entry charge or reservation is needed for this temple.

This is one of the oldest Hanuman Mandir at Hanuman Garhi fort near Ram janm bhumi. It has 37 steps 👣 to climb to reach to the actual mandir. Am amazing temple with historical events of lord Rama era. One must visit Hanuman Garhi temple before proceeding to Ram Mandir. Please expect a waiting period upto 30-60 minutes during weekdays and beyond one hour on weekends since influx of tourists have gone up substantially. More tourists are expected going forward once Ayodhya Airport commences operations from Jan. 24 onwards and more Railway connections are introduced to Ayodhya directly. Once at Hanuman Garhi temple, you will have an altogether different world experience and is worth visiting as many times possible.
