Second time at Land but first time in the new venue. Everything was delicious and beautiful. The new restaurant has been designed great, looking classy and stylish. Visited to celebrate a friend’s new job and had the 6 course menu. Would highly recommend visiting.

Came here last night with my girlfriend for our 4 year anniversary and it did not disappoint! How this place doesn’t have a Michelin star yet…I do not know. What incredible value for money, my girlfriend and I opted for the 4 course dinner and each plate was outstanding. The quality of ingredients are exceptional and the flavour that each plate hosts is truly something else. You’ve just got to go and try it for yourself.

Second time we've visited Land, the first time was sublime and we've been really looking forward to getting back here to sample the new dishes that are changed with each season and it certainly didn't disappoint. Highly recommend

I visited LAND on January 13th with my husband, we both had an absolutely stunning experience from start to finish from people who clearly care about every aspect of what they do. From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the friendly, engaging and knowledgable staff who promptly take your belongings and seat you. The environment created is very relaxed; earthy decor in an intimate setting where you are aware you are having an elevated fine dining experience. We were celebrating an anniversary too which the team very kindly placed a card on our table from the staff - a thoughtful touch. We were guided through a set a menu with a few delicious surprises along the way. We were never kept waiting and as one course finished another timely began. The waiting staff and restaurant staff all working together to create what felt like a seamless experience. I am not a person who takes pictures or grabs my phone readily, however I could not resist on this occasion. The food was absolutely stunning. Every single element had been considered from texture to flavour profiles - with each dish visually being plated with the same care as it was created. There was an incredible balance across the food that was so fine at times; some elements occasionally became challenging for me in a couple of dishes, but it was new and creative - it felt exciting to keep digging in and embracing that experience. The quality of ingredients and flavour profiles were absolutely amazing, we could not wait for the next dish at each turn. My husband and I both had a pairing; myself the wine and my husband the non-alcoholic. The wines were beautiful and complimented the food perfectly, I even have something new to have at home! The real surprise was the non-alcoholic pairing though, I tried each one of my husbands and wow - absolutely fabulous. We could tell the same level and thought had gone into creating this experience as any other part of our experience which is not something we have come across. My husband has not had alcohol in 7 years and often does not get a full experience as it is rarely considered, but this was not only thought about, it was done so with knowledge and care - it was genuinely a highlight for us. I have been vegan almost 8 years now and I have began to lose my love for food in the most recent, finding it difficult to have experiences where the same level of care and passion is put into the things I want to eat as those also usually sat at the table or around me. LAND has truly ignited that love again and I cannot wait to experience the next menu. Surely a star is on the horizon? Thank you for a fantastic evening and experience.

Absolutely amazing dining experience. I went with a friend and we chose the tasting menu. The flavours and tastes are so different, such wonderful examples of what can be achieved with vegetables and a creative mind. The chef has matched flavours and textures so that each mouthful is a delightful surprise to be savoured. Had a marvellous evening and we are now keen to try the lunchtime menu, too. For a dining 'experience' which is totally vegetarian, there is nothing to match 'Land' in Birmingham. Excellent value for money. A lot of hard work has gone into the final perfect creation on the plate or dish. You are certainly made to feel very special here and the food is outstanding.

A fantastic dinner with exceptional flavours, you would never have guessed it was vegan. All courses were delicious but the potato main and the meadowsweet pudding with rhubarb were the standouts. Also the wine pairing was an excellent addition with a very diverse selection of interesting wines which complemented each course perfectly, often wine pairings can be a bit of an expensive let down on tasting menus but not at Land!

Although I'm a dedicated carnivore, my visit to this vegan restaurant was a delightful surprise. I didn't miss meat at all, and the dishes served were absolutely delicious. Spending three hours there felt like a true escape from reality. I'll definitely be returning!

The food was great and very good value for money and wine pairing really worked so no complaints on that front and well worth a visit. However please put a curtain around the entrance so you don’t get hit with an icy blast every time the door is opened . It’s simply and everywhere in Europe . Second and most disappointing please don’t rush me out the door when I’m having my digestive. I’ve enjoyed a good meal I’m relaxing and I want to end my meal comfortably. This was not just us but everyone was rushed out to make way for the second siting . Adjust your course timings don’t simply say sorry we have our next sitting coming. And finally 2 to 3 tables too many in this small restaurant making it a little more cramped and less personal than I would have liked . Still a great meal though.

Absolutely delightful dining experience. Visited here as a birthday treat and was blown away by the food. 8 course tasting meal with an extra little sweet treat at the end. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed each course, nothing I didn’t enjoy. Each course was explained by the waiter and it was also very interesting to learn that they produce very minimal waste here as they use every little bit in some way whether added into a sauce or used as a glaze. I’ve been vegan for 2 years and vegetarian for many many years and this is honestly some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Will definitely visit again. I also thought £55 for the meal was more than reasonable for the quality of food. Nice little touch to have a birthday card for me on the table too.

The food was creative and tasted fantastic. Everything was vegan too. Every course brought to our table was more delicious than the previous one. The staff were friendly and thoroughly explained each dish brought to our table. The interior of the restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe. I highly recommend this place for a date night or celebration. I’m not sure if they have earned any Michelin Stars, but they deserve one if not!

A restaurant that isn't pretentious or tries to be something it's not. Quick attentive service, beautifully delicious dishes & a wicked experience. If you're worried about portion size, I came in starving but left feeling satisfied after the 3 course menu. Thanks to the waitress for her excellent service last night !

This is simply fantastic. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but my partner is. So a complete sceptic. The set menu is imaginative full of flavours and texture and a joy. The wine pairing is great with some great local British wines that taste amazing. This restaurant should join the ranks of Birmingham growing michelin ranks.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It is some of the best food I have ever eaten, on a par with Gordon Ramsey and Ottolenghi. It is not good despite being vegan, or because it is vegan, it is just in absolute terms delicious. The restaurant is small and the two chefs can be seen cooking away at the back of the dining room. The food is served in beautiful Nouvelle Cuisine style and explained by two very knowledgeable waitresses. We also went with the wine pairings for each course which were excellent choices. If all veggie food tasted this good getting people to reduce their meat consumption would be a doddle. These guys need write a book, be training young chefs and get famous! If I had one suggestion for improvement it would be to offer an option for the wine pairings where you only have 100ml or even 70ml per glass. 125ml per course is more than some people would want.

The perfect place for consumate foodie. Excellent food, as well as attentive service. It's a must for anyone who enjoys a casual dining experiemce in a cosy setting. Fully booked on a Thursday evening. We don't understand why this place hasn't achieved Michelin star status. Despite being a vegan resturant the chefs bring the full flavours out in each dish making each course unique and delightful. The balance on the pallet was well crafted from buttery rich flavours to salty sharp umarmi. It was pleasing to note the value for money of the four courses we had. We felt satisfied, happy and content after a dining experience to remember.

Amazing food, the tastes were superb. Staff knowledgeable and friendly even if they did speak quietly so I had to strain to hear what they said. Set 8 course tasting menu and after each one we were excited for the next and what it would taste like. Whole experience was over about 2m5 hrs.

This restaurant exceeds all expectations, staff are so professional and warm and the food is probably the best vegan food I have ever tasted. We had the 8 course tasting menu at around £45 and my friend also has the wine flight for £45. Reasonable prices compared to some tasting menus. With the wine flight she received 6 glasses of wine (the last being a dessert wine). Wine portions were generous as she left quite tipsy haha!! My favourite has to be the sweet potato course, I have never tasted anything as good. Will definitely be back, 10/10 just amazing

The restaurant is pleasantly decorated. The service is very polite, attentive and friendly despite the formality. I hope to be back in the area soon to spend an evening here with new amazements.

Superb, inventive vegan food. I eat meat and my partner is vegetarian but this blew away any preconceptions that vegan food cannot be up to Michelin starred standards. Excellent wine list too.

What an excellent experience! We had the 8 course dining experience and it was just phenomenal. We’ve been vegan for 8 years now and have never eaten such imaginative, creative and delicious food before. This is another level of genius. We also enjoyed the wine pairing, which was a delightful accompaniment to each course. Would highly recommend to all so you can experience the extensive range of what can be done with just plants!! Our minds were left blown.

Not really for us! We were keen to try a vegan menu and were delighted to book Land on our recent visit to B'ham. Turned up at a pleasant, but quite laid back, venue at the 'Arcade' for a tasting menu. The dishes were wonderfully presented however many were very salty and some of the flavours & textures didn't really 'float our boat'! There was quite a gap between courses so the evening's experience was over 3 hrs, a bit unnecessarily long. I commend the technical skill of the chefs, however this wasn't really for us.

Second time dining at Land now, great to try a different menu each time depending on the season. Food is incredible, very reasonably priced for the quality and the front of house staff are attentive but not intrusive. Checked in advance, and before dining about my girlfriend’s allergy.

What an amazing meal we had here just before lockdown. The flavours in the innovative menu were just divine! Every mouthful of food was superb. The service was excellent too. We took meat eating friends with us and they were just as impressed as us Vegans. In fact this food was better than a Michelin starred restaurant we went to a few months ago.

My first full vegan/vegetarian fine dining experience. Highly recommended! We tried the 6 course taster vegan and vegetarian options, our favourite was the vegan, Delicious! All dishes were unique in appearance, texture and flavour, it was a delightful taste tour of thier offering. Service was excellent never a seconds delay, as soon as we one serving, our table was cleared cleaned new cutlery and the next dishes came quickly at request. I liked how each dish was introduced when served, I recommend trying the taster menu to experience the different flavours. Keep plenty of time aside and go on an empty stomach. Looking forward to trying another tour of more unique dishes 😅😁

If you were ever thinking of going vegan or vegetarian this would certainly help you on your journey. I had the 2 course set menu for £20. A potato rosti for the starter, then an oyster mushroom for the main. Definitely not your usual 'veggie' choice of options at any other restaurants! Exquisite is all I can say!

We went for lunch at Land after wanting to dine here for some time, well it was most definitely worth the wait. We dined off the Chefs Menu which is extremely well priced. The food was excellent, and the 5 plates came out with good amount of time between them. Not only this service was wonderful and my brother had an allergy to one of the menu items listed and they were more than accommodating. I shall be back and telling all my friends they should pay a visit!

  • 5/5 Matthew B. 3 years ago on Google
We had the chef's menu, it was wonderful. The service was great. I highly recommended the wine flight. For £20 you get some really interesting wines. We had a distinctive orange wine, a great desert wine and the most powerful sauvignon blanc I have ever tried. The value proposition is unrivalled.

I'm not a vegetarian but i do like my veg food. I tried this restaurant for the first time today &the flavours were lovely. I had the 3 course set menu. Each plate was well presented & it is nice to have a vegetarian restaurant to go to if thats your thing. I had a non-alcholic ginger & lemon tea drink which i loved, the ginger had a great kick to it. I tried some of my friends food & didnt like the crispy egg dish. The falafel had a great flavour, would have enjoyed more in the portion. The jersey potato dish was delicious. I liked the touch of the bread & butter given at the start too. The strawberry parfait was my favourite & a great dessert. I felt the portions to be on the smaller side. Because of the eat out to help out we had a £20 discount. But i have to be honest I felt it would have been pricey to have had the full bill which would have been over £50. Neither of us got full & ended up having a snack elsewhere after. However the atmos was nice & the staff were great. I like the quiet location too considering it is in town.

Innovative, tasty and light cuisine: the strawberry parfait won the first prize for best dish, but everything we tasted was excellent! Yes yes yes!!! This an absolute must-do for anyone visiting Birmingham (or anyone living there, for that matter). Vegetables are yummy and awesome, and this restaurant puts all of them in the spotlight. I wish I could give Land 10 out of 5 stars. Without a doubt the high point of the evening, was the cabbage with panko and miso and apple. Simple perfection... The beers (I can't drink wine) worked well, especially the stout with chocolate mousse. Service was perfect, the presentation beautiful, the music pleasant, the amuses were tasty... If we are everyt in Birmingham again, this is our place to go!

A little gem in the city centre. We tried the set menu at Land which had the added bonus of an incredibly tasty chick pea focussed amuse bouche and gorgeous cumin bread. The starters were then knock out, the cabbage in particular. Unfortunately I found the Turnip main a bit too salty and lacking texture.. the desserts were a nice way to finish. One of the highlights though were the staff, so friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Overall a lovely spot for dinner and would recommend people to try.

We chose the paired wines (a glass with each course), which combined so well with the food! Will definitely be going back. Thank you to all at Land!

Absolutely amazing- every dish was itself, but lifted. The carrot course blew my mind, and I wanted to eat the beans three times over. Wonderful service, I fully recommend the wine pairing as the wait staff were so well informed and lovely. Really had an excellent night and will be back asap, whilst recommending to everyone on the way.

Absolutely wonderful meal to celebrate our son and girlfriend’ graduation. Friendly, immaculately clean, superb food and we had the taster wines too which rounded off the experience. Our delightful Italian waitress made us so welcome and was attentive and fun.

A wonderful evening out. Enough spacing and adaptations for Covid, we were booked in for 7:30 but this was moved to 6:30 as the 9 courses can take up to 3 hours and they had to shut at 10 with the current restrictions. Impeccable service from the staff and delicious food. Hope to return soon.

Our much anticipated visit to the "new" Land did not disappoint. From the friendly welcome and incredibly good amuse bouche to the chocolate brownie with caramel, everything was perfect. The amazing combination of flavours and the little unexpected extras, along with the wonderful and knowledgeable service made this a real treat.

Sitting here at the Chefs table. Totally loving the food, atmosphere and service. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ establishment and highly recommend to all foodies vegan, vegetarian or otherwise. I'm a meat ester normally, but will be back to enjoy the next menu.

Yet another amazing meal courtesy of Adrian & Tony today. And I believe they changed up the menu early just for my birthday. Now that is a 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ service. Much gratitude and thanks. H x

If it were socially acceptable I’d lick the plates!!!! This place deserves a Michelin Star or two!

This place knocked me bloody socks off! Very sophisticated plates but a relaxed atmosphere sitting down. I found the whole experience something I would do again and again. Carefully thought out plates and the wine was delicious. Well done chaps

I went here with my partner for his birthday. We had the 6 course tasting menu, which came with some amuse bouche to start. Simply, it was amazing. Sometimes it is difficult to find interesting or different food when dining out as a vegan and we travelled quite a distance to experience this, but my goodness it was worth the journey, this place did not disappoint on interesting and new flavour! The cauliflower dish was sublime. We felt super special but not out of place, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you for having us :)

My first time at this restaurant (and first vegan restaurant), food was truly amazing and the service was excellent. My wife had the wine paring and this too was excellent with wines we would never have chosen. Could rave about this place for ages. Will definitely be booking again.

My partner booked us 8 course tasting menu but with the pandemic we couldn't make it they understood this and gave us a voucher for next time. When we booked again the menu did change so we had to pay £20 on top of the voucher that would have covered the cost of the previous menu. A little on the pricey side but the food was amazing and all vegan! They offer wine that pairs with the food.

Absolutely amazing! We had the chefs table experience at LAND recently. It costs a little more than standard dining but was totally worth it for our first visit to the restaurant as you get a view of the kitchen and can interact with the chefs which was interesting and really added to the whole experience. We were really looking forward to the food and it did not disappoint. We are not vegan but have been exploring plant based cuisine more and more so were excited for our first ever fully plant based dining experience. The food was absolutely exquisite, with so many interesting techniques and flavours. We ate several things that were new to us and likely wouldnt have picked off a menu but now that we've tried, would definitely eat again. The little mushroom and celeriac appetiser was one of our favourite things, along with the butternut squash terrine with sunflower cream and chilli crunch which was incredible. We had 7 courses plus 2 one bite appetisers over the course of 2 hours and felt very satisfied by the end of it. Each course was pefectly portioned so as not to feel too much and no two things were alike. The skill and effort involved in creating each dish was evident. For such a small place they also had a really good drinks menu and i tried a couple of their cocktails which were delicious. The whole vibe of the restaurant is very calm and relaxed and it was obvious that all the staff were perfectly in control and happy at their work. It ran like well greased clockwork and was really nice to see such a smooth service with not one visible hiccup. The kitchen was impeccably clean (we could see right in from the chefs table view) and the chefs frequently cleaned down which is always a reassuring thing to see and something we particularly look for. Overall we had an amazing experience here and will definitely be returning, most likely with others! Congratulations to the owners on such a wonderful establishment with such a great atmosphere and service.

This is such a great place for food lovers. Firstly the staff are incredibly helpful, answering any questions that we had about the food. They were also very quick with service but took the time when they were with us. The food itself, it's the real star here. We had 5 courses and each one was fantastic. I thought they may have had something that I didn't like as much, but I was proved wrong as each dish was delightful in its own way. I would highly recommend coming here for a phenomenal food experience! Remember to book and pay beforehand!

A really nice experience and very tasty food. Compared to other taster menus I’ve had I would say that this was most impressive because it was plant-based and not too pricey. I’d like to visit again and try a different menu at some point for sure. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of is the fact the restaurant is tiny and you can’t avoid being near other tables - the chefs table option is definitely something I would consider in the future

*The dining experience* We were looking forward to the dining experience. The restaurant was small - only fits about 22 people or so. The team was really lovely. I didn't like some of the dishes as the flavours were sharp, but overall we found the tasting a worthwhile experience. *Post dining experience* My wife and I found the food really hard to digest. Which is really unusual. Our reservation was at 20:30 and stayed up until 02:00 to allow the food to settle. However, it didn't help much as we were sick during the night, had shivers, and have a headache. In other words, we both have food poisoning. Fine dining food poisoning.

My husband and I came here for their 8 course tasting menu for dinner on Friday. They are a Polished space serving international plant-based dishes. We have no complains as the quality of the food was great, the chef was creative and innovative with the dishes. They've made us both fell in love with plant-based dishes even more now. My favourite dish is the Celeriac Mushroom Chive and oh my gosh, it melts in my mouth! Amazing. Thanks for the great experience guys, keep up the good work 👍

This is a lovely small restaurant located in the great western arcade. The good: The food is amazing, unique and very tasty (big compliments to the chefs). The bad: The service was very poor, to be honest when I went there was no service at all and when you factor in the price of the food it's a little disappointing. Regardless I'd recommend you try the place out. Also portion sizes are on the smaller side and id have liked some bread to go along with some of the saucy dishes.

Great experience. Food tasted amazing and staff were brilliant. Wish portion sizes were a tiny bit bigger but overall good value for money. Cocktails a bit on the expensive side.

4.5 star. Variety and flavoursome dishes, amazing! The chef should be on MasterChef if they haven't already. Truly unbelievable what can be done with veg.

We ate there on Saturday and it was fabulous! We always go for a special occasion as for us, it never disappoints. Our favourite dish this time was the onion dashi but everything was delicious. The team are excellent and always so welcoming. We can’t wait to return.
