Auberge Van Strombeek

Hotel

😠 I had intended to rate the hotel 2 stars after my stay because, despite the issues, it labeled itself a budget 3-star hotel and you kind of get what you pay for. However, in searching for the hotel to rate it, I find it's under a different name. That just smells sketchy and I dislike that. It goe... People often mention hotel,

I had intended to rate the hotel 2 stars after my stay because, despite the issues, it labeled itself a budget 3-star hotel and you kind of get what you pay for. However, in searching for the hotel to rate it, I find it's under a different name. That just smells sketchy and I dislike that. It goes under the name of Hotel Iris Expo (which is what I booked), Iris International, and Auberge Van Strombeek (what shows on the outside of the building). My original review: Hotel is fairly out of the way. Check in was simple, no fuss. Room was small, furniture was decent, but the room was not cleaned well. The floor was sticky, the blanket had a pink stain on it, the desk had a still wet soda ring from a can, and the towels were no longer white. The bathroom sink would not drain properly (very slowly) and the shower did not drain at all, causing water to flood into the room.

What a horrible place. Stayed 3 nights and it was a disgrace. Filthy, poorly maintained, terrible service , no hot water, moved my room whilst I was out without asking, a real disgrace. Stay anywhere but here.

Dirty, dangerous, broken, disgusting. How on earth they are still operating is beyond me. The place is a health and safety hazard all over. -Exposed electrical wires everywhere. -Leaking toilet seat onto the floor. -No pillow cover on my pillow. -Pillow had brown stains on it. -Missing floor tiles. -Parts of ceiling missing. -Horrible smell in the rooms -One of the walls in the room had sharp metal sticking out. -Dead bugs on all window sills since 1962. -Very overpriced! Avoid! If you care about yourself and your family, avoid at all cost.

Just one night here, the service and facilities reflect the Brussles business oriented attitude. Low pricing was still too much with a bad tv connection, no remote, having to ask for hot water in the shower and still getting cold shower later that evening. All in all not recommended. Sorry host, spice up your facilities!

Disgusting, dirty, broken walls and the smell!!! worst hotel I have ever been to. Rather sleep on the street. DO NOT BOOK! Checked in, checked out. Took the Ibis next door which feels like a 5 star deluxe.

The room was never clean, even when they changed the bed sheets they were always dirty. Walls are ready to fall and the closet was ready to collapse as well. The beds were practically a matress on a matress and that was it.

No toliet paper, no door for the bathroom and there was no air ventilation. Asked the guy at the desk for information about buses to Brussels and he did not give us any information what so ever.

I booked on 29 th March 2022 via Cubilis and asked for a booking confirmation several times without success. Now in less one week before arrival they informed me, that they are not able to honor my reservation due to construction of the hotel. Usually a construction is known in advance. Now I have to search a new hotel within less than one week with much higher prices! Service and Hotel is NOT recommended.

Naja, was soll ich sagen...

Personal spricht kein Deutsch.
