Rooms were clean and modern. However it was not as shown on the picture, I thought there were curtains in every bed for each guests’ privacy but there wasn’t. There was also no fan or a/c so it gets really hot. The place is a 2-minute walk away from tram station Lemonierre however the area seems a bit unsafe in my opinion.

Very close to city centre! And to train station where is stopping bus to and from airport. Rooms are clean... People at the reception are kind, funny and helpful! Basically you have everything. 100% I recommend!

TLDR: STAY AWAY, YOUR VALUABLES MAY BE STOLEN Against better judgment, my friends and I chose this place even though it didn't have at least 4 stars because of its proximity to the Eurostar Brussels Terminal. LIST OF GRIEVANCES The Forgivables: - Only one keycard for 5 people. We had to keep on insisting to get a second keycard; - Thin walls; - Smell of smoke; - Weird bed arrangement. We had 3 beds arranged in a way where not all of us can plug in our sockets to charge our personal devices; The Unforgivables: - Showering floods the entire bathroom. If you didn't bring your own slippers, you're SOL; - Shower curtain has a reddish brown mold from who knows what near the bottom; - I had a pair of AirPods Pro that was almost certainly taken by one of the employees. When inquired, the hostel refused to get involved even though I can track the AirPods Pro from the Find My app. We are now pursuing a chargeback. Have fun losing EUR611 when AirPods Pro are only EUR280 new -- much less when you're trying to sell used ones that are still registered to the original owner (me). To quote the illustrious producer, DJ Khaled, "Congratulations, you played yourself"

The location is pretty good; approx. 15 min to the downtown. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The room itself was a bit dirty; there is a balcony with a street view. Hence, it is pretty noisy. Since outside was 30 degrees the heat inside the room was unbearable, I cannot sleep at all. The bathroom was okay, hot water available. Wifi is average to good. In the common areas you can work. There is a coffee machine, a cup of coffee - 2 euros, tea gratis. Price/value ratio: 6/10

Haven't stated there myself. But I had to pick up and host a friend to check out who couldn't sleep in the room offered. They mentioned it was not clean at all and the space was horrible compared to the price payed. Would be hesitant to stay there myself.

If you're tempted by the price/location please think again. The price includes you not being able to sleep due to the noise from surrounding late night cafes/establishments which you can feel a part of if you decide to sleep with the window open- and also if you do not! There is no air conditioning so you get the fun choice of not sleeping due to melting or not sleeping due to noise, or a combination of these. There is no kitchen but I think they provide (sell) bottled water. The bathroom was grimy and they do not provide a shower mat meaning you will cause a flood if you use a shower. They do kindly provide one towel between the room included in the price, so you could come away with some close new friends. The toilet flush sounds like it is sh*tting so if you thought you disguised what you were doing... Think again. The bunk beds are rickety so every small movement makes you fear for the beds stability. They also have ridiculously overstuffed pillows that could be used to make a bouncy castle, so I guess they have that going for it. As for the location- it doesn't feel safe, whether during the day or late at night. Men sit at cafes and stare at you as you walk past and there are currently street works on meaning some routes to places get very complicated.i feel there was a completely different atmosphere from the rest of Brussels which felt welcoming. The area around this hostel feels hostile.

Amazing and economical hostel with an amazing hospitality service. A person is available 24*7 at the reception desk. Always ready to help. The hostels were very clean and tidy and cozy. Located very near to the centre, it provides everything a tourist/ traveller might need :) Highly recommended :)

We stayed 2 nights in room 305. There was a really strong bad sewer smell from the bathroom, that even after staff had tried to sort it, it was still there. The TV in the room didnt work, and the wifi didnt work with the details from reception. As it was hot and the rooms had no air conditioning or fans (and the sewerage smell) we had to have the windows open all the time we were in there. The noise from the Cafe below, the Building site and Fun Fair at either end of the row, plus the boy racers screeming their cars up the street in the early hours of the morning, meant no proper sleep. Although the location is close to the centre, the location doesnt feel very safe as the streets are littered with beggars and drunks between the hostel and the centre. The only positive was helpful staff and low price for Brussels, however I would not go back and stay again.

I gave 1 star for the lack of service from the manager. I was and am still seeking a refund for 1 night (I had booked 4 nights). The first and only reply from the manager made no sense. Until now, after further multiple emails plus talking to multiple reception staff from arrival, there has been no contact from the manager. A member of reception assured me it was within my rights to modify my stay and from reading the given conditions, it is so. I advise future guests to not book multiple nights but book one day at a time, as refunds seem impossible. I emailed booking.com (where I made the booking) as well as the email of the hostel of which I was assured would reach the manager. When I asked to see the manager, it seemed convenient for the manager to be unreachable in person. Be wary about bookings. The reception staff are nice. The room (1 room shared with 3 other females) had a bathroom and was fine except it was hot with no fan or aircon. One can open the window for air. There are lockers beneath the bed. Remember to bring a padlock or you can rent one at the hostel. There is free wifi which worked well on my phone in the reception area and in the room. The area is a little far from the centre if walking is not preferable. Safety may be am issue as during my stay, 2 male guests were mugged at midnight on their way back.

So nice but the doorman stole a crisp out of my packet in my hands when I was walking in the door, I didn’t mind though :)

Terrible location, Guests are homeless have terrible smells, and cannot sleep also the toilets sink doesn’t work. I inquired the receptionist he said can’t do anything due to the hostel installations being too old. AVOID!

The best: confort and clean bedrooms. The hotel is located close (5min walk) to the the important station Brussels Midi. It doesn't have a kitchen but it have a dining room inside and some open air tables too. There are 2 boilers for free and some tea you can make. A small coffee machine is also there but you need to pay for it. They will give to you a card as a key for the room. The attention was quite nice. Only problem: I couldn't find the cold water shower, it was only hot water. I asked for help but they never came.

The tone of the staff was bad, the rooms were very dark, the lighting was not enough, the wardrobe was not enough, they did not let us use the coffee machine for the 3 days of our stay, there was a limed kettle and tea. When we looked from our room window, there were construction rubble in the hotel garden. wifi big problem general I do not recommend as

Location- good The floors were quite dirty. One of the staff member was rude. The lady working while my check in checked me in 301 room, I slept there for a while, went out, came back again and slept early in the night since I was very very tired. The guy working in the night came in the room at 12 and woke me up. I was irritated so he started yelling at me, it was very unexpected. I felt it was racism, since two other girls of may be his country wanted to stay together and there was just one bed left in 2 different tooms, so he sent me to other room in the midnight to favour the other girls

Richtige Drecksbude. Wer "deutschen Standard" gewohnt ist sollte die Finger von lassen. Unser Zimmer war derartig dreckig und die Bettwäsche wurde bestimmt nicht gewechselt. Überall waren Haare zu sehen auch auf der Bettwäsche.

I stayed at Brxxl 5 with my friends for two nights, booking a room for 5 people with two bunk beds and one single bed. The location is good! The hostel isn't located in one of the nicest areas of Brussels, but with a 5-minute walk, you're already in a very central area: it's actually quite close to Chapelle station, Midi station, and Place de la Bourse. It's not an excessively dangerous area, especially because we were 5 men. Our interactions with the staff were really minimal; we simply checked in and checked out, all while speaking basic English without any issues. The room and the building were what we expected, nothing more and nothing less: a classic budget hostel without extravagant comforts but with the basics. The room was private just for us 5 with a private bathroom. For towels, we asked at the reception and they were provided to us after a small payment. The room was small for 5 people, but for two nights, it was more than sufficient, and we didn't encounter any particular problems regarding the condition of the room. Okay, it wasn't a palace, but if you're passing through and not too demanding, it's suitable! We didn't find any traces of bedbugs, which were reported in other reviews. For the price we paid, the location, and the simple room, I recommend this hostel if you don't have too many expectations and if you're planning a short stay with a group of friends!

There is no fan or AC available so the room gets hot and stuffy in anything over 15°C. Unlike some of the photos there are no curtains around the bed. The mattress is quite average also. This is cheap, basic accommodation. The rooms however are clean and have storage under the beds for luggage. You must supply your own locks and towels here unless you want to pay a fee. Location is very close to transport and the main city centre.

Good location - close to midi station. It seems the walls are quite thin because we could hear lots of noise coming from the neighboring rooms, staff is really kind and helpful!

  • 3/5 João Z. 5 years ago on Google
The location is not bad at all, a 15 minute walk to the city centre. The staff is nice but barely speaks English, most of them. The hostel itself has a great infrastructure, the bedrooms are nice and with a great bathroom, and some even have a small balcony. The beds are comfortable. Had a problem with my reservation and had to contact Booking to fix this as they were that bad dealing with things, so my opinion is probably biased.

Very clean. There’s a big lift, which is great if you’re traveling with luggage. The only thing I can complain about is broken shower - the water sprayed in different directions rather than streaming in one. Other than that, a good place to spend a night

    · Location is 12 minutes walking from Brussels midi station, very close also to metro station and 20 minutes walking to the city center Staff are very helpful and kind Bids are comfortable Everything was clean Doors and windows were not sound isolated, so you are annoyed from the noise in the streets and when someone speaks in the corridors. You need to take your pad locker or pay 2 Eur to get a pad locker from the hotel

Rooms were a little small but fine, beds are comfortable, although the top bunk ladder had a very large step up and was not easy to climb up.

We found this place while looking for accomodation options in Brussels. Very reasonably priced and decent rooms for students and couples looking for cheap accommodation in main Brussels. The hotel is located 1.5km away from the city centre and hence very convenient to come back to room and rest for a while or grab something in case you forgot something. The service is quite good. A great overall experience. Recommended when visiting Brussels.

Good, reliable booking. Didn't have to make a reservation. Bags safe in the luggage room. Not much of a breakfast, plus you have to pay extra for it, but it's not horrible. You could get more with some pastries or something on the street. Friendly staff. Really bad lighting in the rooms. Coat rack. Nice sinks in the bathrooms. Soap too.

Quite a bad place. I'd suggest trying another hostel, but also not the one next door as they are quite similar. The location is quite dangerous, the rooms of the hostel are very dark, it's very little space and the lobby is not very comfortable. There are no couches there or kitchen to cook. Also, there is a very bad small coming from the toilet.

One bad thing - before coming I sent them a couple of e-mails and got no answer at all. After we came, everything was fine. We were able to check-in at 3 pm but there was no problem to leave the luggage sooner. The receptionist was a nice and helpful person (when it started to rain she borrowed us an umbrella, we didn't even ask for it). The place is good to stay for a night or two. Cheap for what it is. I recommend it to young people with no children.

Stayed at this place 1 night. The location is good, everything else is ok for a hostel. Bedsheets were clean. OK option for a tight budget.

Great place to stay! Even a dorm is very comfortable because of Urban style. Hostel is clean, have a new, clean bathrooms and propose great breakfast for 5 euro. Personnel always help us, answers all questions and give advices. I felt that I'm a guest, there is a hostility atmosphere. P. S. No bicycle parking, but reseptionist help us and find a safe place for our bikes. Thanks!

Stayed at the BRXXL5 hostel (double bed room) for 4 nights. Although the room was fairly spacious, quiet at night, and a decent walking distance from the city center, the bed and the bathroom were TERRIBLE. The bed seemed clean at first sight, but we were woken up in the middle of the night by insects crawling around our necks. We initially thought they were mosquitoes, but when we turned on the lights we realized that the bed was infested with BED BUGS which had already feasted on our blood. In addition, the bathroom had a consistent sewer smell that plagued our room throughout the day. Lastly, it was summer when we stayed there. And the fan was not sufficient to keep cool as the room was smelly and stuffy. Definitely would not recommend to stay at this place.

Great location almost in the middle of the city, excellent free WiFi connection, one of the easiest check-ins/out's I've ever tried, and nice and clean rooms/toilets/beds. The hostel is very active, and a good place to meet groups of other travelling people. Sadly the hostel doesn't have a bar, or a proper kitchen.

  • 1/5 Fab ian B. 4 years ago on Google
Unfortunately the mattress is a NO GO!!! It's way too soft, you feel every feather in your back. That's a shame because the rest of the hostel was ok and more or less clean. But if you can't sleep well you are looking forward to leave this place. In addition the sound isolation is super bad, you hear everything from the other rooms, even the shower and a conversation in a normal volume. This two points lead to the 1/5 review. The bathroom was super clean and stylish, liked it much more than the other part of the room. The hostel is good located, the main sightseeing spots are reachable by foot.

  • 2/5 Vrinda V. 9 months ago on Google
The floor was dirty, the room was hot (no fan or ac) and the room and bathroom had a strong smell (no exhaust fan) to the point we bought an airfreshner can. The location is convenient but there's some cafes with men drinking at night and being loud so can be uncomfortable to walk past as a woman. Also means opening yhe window at night lets in a lot of noise. The free WiFi isn't great. Rooms only come with 1 towel per person (so no bath mat or hand towel or hair towel). Lighting is dim.

  • 4/5 Kaylie R. 5 years ago on Google
The staff here were very friendly and quick to help. Agoda messed up my booking but the receptionist fixed it for me. There is a cute cat that wanders around the seating area downstairs. It's nice to have an ensuite bathroom in a hostel though that they be difficult at peak times. Not much of an atmosphere but a decent place to stay - not too far from the Grand Place. Not the best place to come during Ramadan though as most shops are closed during the day.

24/7 service is good. Hotel is clean but the lack of ventilation in the room

  • 4/5 Anneloes V. 6 years ago on Google
It was a nice and clean place. Checkin required ID. They offered breakfast for €5 next door. I slept in a 4 person room with three of my friends. The room had two bunk beds with storage room underneath each. There's a coat rack, a small balcony and power outlets next to each bed. We also had a private bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and towel dryer. The wifi was slightly weak in our room, but strong in the lobby. Checkout was very quick. Only had to drop off our room card. All in all the place was nice and clean and had exactly what we needed. Points of improvement were that there was only one light per room, and it was quite dim. Would've liked to have a brighter one. Would recommend going!

Aside from the lady receptionist who was sweet and professional, everything about this hotel is below expectations. The bathroom shower is flawed, the location is so crowded and the surrounding area isn't safe with a lot of beggars and alcohol drinking areas.

  • 5/5 Duncan B. 5 years ago on Google
Great value hostel in a really good location. Rooms are pretty basic but clean and a decent size. The little courtyard area outside is really nice when the weather is good and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's really close to the Midi-Zuid train station and a short walk into the centre. Ideal for a good value place to stay.

  • 5/5 My Off Duty D. 4 years ago on Google
We paid €65 for an overnight stay, we had a huge room with ensuite toilet. It was really spacious and clean. You can also have your luggage kept in a locked room if you still wish to roam around after you check out. The staff are nice and helpful as well. 10mins away from the station and roughly 15mins to the center which was good enough for us. We just had a bit of difficulty locating the place. And if you’ll just be walking from the metro to the hostel with your luggage, it would be difficult to have it rolling around as the pavements were uneven. I am giving this a 5 star as it suited my travel style

  • 1/5 Lauren C. 6 months ago on Google • 1 review
My bed was a top bunk that had a sorry excuse of a ladder, I an not a heavy person at all but the bed shook when I attempted to climb into it, the bunkmate below me kept shaking the bed all night. The room had many mosquitos in it, I killed one and thought that would be it, but soon after checking out the following morning loads of bites developed on my shoulders and arms which were the exposed area of my body when I was sleeping. The window looked rough and I definitely think there is some core maintenance not happening if mosquitoes got in so easily and were able to thrive in the rooms. Very disappointed and was only staying one night as well so didn’t think I would have any problems, would not go again.

It was an excellent experience, clean, modern and comfortable place. I just think there should be a sink in the kitchen area and also a rug in the bathroom. Everything else was perfect. (:
