Please don't stay here. I don't understand how this one is still in service. Isn't there supposed to be a quality control in hospitality! Our experience was horrible. The stairs are very narrow and there was no ventilation in the corridors such that the place reeked of mold and cigarettes. We were offered a room at first which had a view of someone's terrace. All the furniture seemed broken and bathroom was not in a good state. There was a SOCK hanging up in the ceiling on a light holder.... We told them about it and they offered us another room. Again, furniture and bathroom similar condition. But on inspecting the beds we found some dirt on the bed under the blanket. We requested the receptionist guy to come take a look and requested for the sheets to be changed. He had the audacity to condescendingly say "Where is dirty? Show! No dirt here. We won't change" . We were shocked at such behavior. VERY BAD SERVICE!!!!!!!

Danger... Scam Towels with holes, beds with stains, graffiti in the room, broken window, room service apparently only runs every 2 days and if you have a problem they don't attend to you. The totally undesirable attitude. Everything very dirty. The bathroom is dirty, broken and small... I have to go back to Brussels but I will never return to this hotel...

BE CAREFUL ITS A SCAM Pictures are of the hotel in front of this one. Its called THON HOTEL. Our reservation was canceled at the last minute and the reception was very rude and I was literally kicked out from this place. The place was very dirty and workers were impolite. Don't go there. There are other places with best prices.

As many reviews said before, the place is dirty. It needs major renovations. After checking out the room, we decided not to stay there. There was mold in between shower tiles. I can't report that all rooms were in poor condition, but number 14 was. Room itself wasn't horrible. But it is a 1 start hotel.

I have NEVER stayed at horrible place like that. How could Booking, Hotel.com, etc mention places in such bad conditions. Rooms are dirty and smell strongly cigarette smoke. Attendants are absolutely impolite and away from clients' questions and demands. Although the fare included breakfast, they did not offer Coffee, and all the rest was poorly served - totally cold.

Absolutely disgusting, the pics online looked nice Not the case at all. Leaning wardrobe dirty bedsheets 2 double beds told to use one not both of them. The bathroom does not look it was cleaned at all. The place stinks like cigarettes. Mould on the bathroom above the shower. No toilet paper in the bathroom no hairdryer electric wires exposed. The cheek of them to call it's royal anything it looks like a place after the royals were luted. Avoid it don't go there. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!

This stay was very disappointing. The photos do not accurately reflect the condition of the rooms. When we checked in, they told us we were only allowed to use one of the two beds in the room we were given??? We could barely open and close the door and when we did get it open, we were welcomed by a horrible smell. It was hard to pick one bed because they were both stained. Stains on the sheets, pillow covers, pillows, mattresses, and curtains made us not want to touch anything. There was blood on the pillow! Upon expecting the bed, we honestly believe there were bed bugs. We were not given towels and after asking the front desk, they came up stairs to our room to check if we had them and that we weren’t getting extra. The closet was barely standing so we couldn’t use that. The bathroom was horrendous: mold everywhere and it was pitch black in the shower. I was scared to breathe in the mold. The remote for the tv also had one of two batteries. The staff was not helpful and didn’t seem to prioritize cleanliness or customer service. The room was on the 3rd floor with very narrow stairways so I would not recommend if you have large luggages. The location was nice and the wifi worked.

Very shabby hotel, and the price reflects it. Room was small and needed to be updated. Most of the furniture was worn to the point where it was falling apart. My room's bathroom apparently had a hole in it so when I had a shower it would leak into the room below. I was woken up two nights in a row by hotel staff to tell me about the problem, but they didn't actually do anything to solve it.

Weird hotel. No professional service After we stayed in the room for one hour, reception informed us we came to wrong hotel.

Purchased and paid mid May, the receptionist didn’t want to give the room if not paying again! He tried my card (perfectly working) I passed and he was canceling! Asked for cash! Tired from a long journey, I didn’t want to argue, paid 120€ cash! Complained with Agoda, that complained with Espedia! Once in the room: the dirty was predominant! I know I didn’t pay much, but cleanliness shoul be the first thing! The second day, after complaining another staff member paid back 110 cash! Hotel very well located but needs to improve a bit! Good food on the ground floor though!

Room stinks, bathroom sliding door not working. Main door broken, walking 2 floors from a narrow stairs. Bathroom flush cover broken. Heaters not working. Wifi not working. Power socket not available near by bed & far away not accessible. Partitions are very bad, sound easily passing through rooms. Only good thing is location is in center. Doesn’t recommend it even for less price.

Room was ok , nothing special or bad either . The bathroom a bit old bit functional. The only issue I had was the fact that there's no lift . You're greeted by really steep stairs first thing to go up to the reception same thing to acces your room . Staff was nice .

The worst hotel you can ever be. Avoid at all cost. Bedrooms in n the worst conditions, bed are not changed and you always find hairs on the sheets, stairs very small and straight. Staff very bad. Avoid it

Staff was friendly and helping, however the rooms were worn off and dirty. Bathroom had a horrendous smell and hygiene isn't a top priority in "royal" hotel as well. Pictures on booking.com were very misleading.

- Close proximity to Grand Palace and other major attractions. - Reasonable room rates in the city center. - 24x7 reception - Lack of elevators to access upper floors. You have to use the narrow stairs. It's not suitable if you have any physical limitations. - Close to major city roads so can get noisy.

I booked the hotel by booking, after a few hours my credit was canceled, I typed a second time and once again I took a friend's credit card and it worked for me. After a few hours I had my credit canceled before I arrived I realized the hotel hates Israelis not to come near !!!! By no means get close !!!

Not happy with the room plug sockets felling of the walls no kettle etc bathroom can't didn't close had to move the bed loose step no curtain on back door hand rail felling off no lock on bathroom door

Honestly, the price/quality is pretty good on this one. The room looks really basic and a bit not taken care of, but the bed was clean. I understand the bad reviews, but it is to be expected at such a cheap place.

I made a reservation and gave my card details on Booking, but the amount was only going to be paid one day before the reservation date. I kept getting emails that my card was declined, but it wasn't mentioned why, I had enough money on it. I have also tried to call them but they haven't answer. In the end they canceleld my reservation, so I had to find a new place to stay 1 day before my flight.

Everything about this hotel was excellent. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, rooms were very nice and there was a lovely atmosphere.

Decent but deceitful. The hotel is well located (approx. 10 mins from Grand-Place and very close to a metro station). A lot of shops and restaurants nearby. However, the hotel is so small that we do not see it easily, and the stairs are so steep that I almost fell twice. There are enough facilities in the room (lights, lampshade, sockets and switches and relatively good wifi) but the room is not spacious and not clean enough. It is a decent place for a night or two but I wouldn't call it The Royal Hotel. The name does not reflect the property whatsoever, and the photos are misleading. The staff try to be nice but we can easily see that they do not really want to.

It might look perfect but believe me it wasn't, the room very small, damaged a lot, the room was very very hot inside, the towels were dirty, the receptionist was like he didn't care at all, we couldn't stay inside not even for 10 minutes. Just it's loss of money

Honestly, I was totally shocked by the way they behaved! The floor, the towels, the bathroom, and the be were not at all clean! I felt so bad sleeping there that night so I just woke up and wrote a review for them on booking! and the next day, the reception guy literally kicked us out, insulted us and treated us very impolitely instead of apologizing! I am really sorry for them! Not only the place was super dirty, but also they expect noone to reflect it!

If I could give it -1 I would!!! Not at all as advertised in the pictures. The floors were filthy, it smelled like alcohol and mold. We stayed there for 5 minutes, the bed had hair, the bathroom was filthy, and the towels were dirty. Please do you a big favor and look for another hotel, don't waste 80 euro here.
