The
location
is
central
in
Brussels,
but
it
certainly
isn’t
what
I
expected
of
a
hostel
—
not
really
any
space
to
sit
outside
the
room,
no
atmosphere,
no
recommendations
of
what
to
do.
I
made
the
mistake
of
booking
a
mixed
room
and
it
was
all
men
aside
from
me
and
a
friend.
(Both
of
us
woke
up
to
men
looking
at
us
because
our
curtains
were
open!
So
fun!)
The
lockers
weren’t
secured
to
the
wall,
so
whenever
anybody
moved
to
get
things,
it
was
a
loud
squeaking
for
several
minutes.
The
bathrooms
had
no
ventilation
or
insulation,
so
when
one
guest
had
explosive
diarrhea
in
the
middle
of
the
night,
it
was
insufferable
to
have
the
bed
nearest
to
the
bathroom.
Other
hostels
I’ve
stayed
in
have
rules
for
shared
rooms
—
quiet
hours,
reminding
people
not
to
take
phone
calls
in
the
room
at
night,
options
to
inform
other
guests
about
alarm
times.
There
was
NOTHING
here,
and
I
was
woken
with
alarms
from
4
to
7
am.
And
it
was
pitch
black
any
time
I
entered
during
the
day.
Oh,
and
when
I
found
the
room
for
breakfast
to
sit
somewhere
that
wasn’t
my
shared
room,
I
saw
a
mouse.
(Hotel
staff
was
nice
about
this
and
assured
me
it
would
be
taken
care
of,
but
I
didn’t
stay
after
the
first
night).
If
you’re
looking
for
nothing
more
than
an
okay
bed
to
sleep
in
for
maybe
2-4
hours
in
a
downtown
spot,
it’s
fine
for
the
price.
And
the
staff
is
very
friendly.
But
I
wouldn’t
stay
here
again.
