We visited Café du Sablon for breakfast and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the breakfast offerings were varied and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the croissants, and salmón and crème toast. The staff were friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and drinks, and I felt like I got good value for my money. Overall, I would highly recommend Café du Sablon to anyone looking for a cozy and delicious breakfast spot in Brussels. The combination of great coffee, delicious food, and warm atmosphere make it a must-visit for coffee lovers and foodies alike.

Good place, but I don't understand all of these 5 star reviews. We ordered the acai bowl, the sablon brunch, two coffees and an orange juice. FYI the pic is from halfway through the meal. The acai bowl was good, but nothing special: just fruit, smoothie and granola. Could've made it myself. Also, the smoothie was VERY cold, which would be amazing in summer but as it is December, it made me freezing. Because of this temperature, drinking the coffee I ordered was very strange as I went from freezing cold to very hot, so my body was very confused and I could barely taste anything at that point. However the coffee looked great and was good (at first, when I could still taste it 🥶) The sablon brunch was literally two pieces of very crunchy toast, a couple of slices of ham and cheese on the side, scrambled eggs and a stick of butter. It was like a 3 star hotel brunch. It was alright, the toast a bit too toasted. I get the aesthetic of having a decomposed toast but wouldn't order again. I mean... again, I could've made it at home, it's literally a piece of toast. The scrambled eggs were good though. The place itself is small, not very decorated, low tables, but nice colours, really comfortable chairs and a line out the door. As it started getting more crowded, people bumped into our chairs to get around (we were sitting in the middle). It is self service, meaning you order and pay at the front and then take a buzzer back to your table. When it buzzes, you go get your food yourself. Also, the cutlery, especially the spoon, was very old, looked dirty but I quickly realised it was very clean, just old so it looked dirty and dusty. However, the price was great (28€ for all of this, feeding 2 people). I think I just had too high expectations based on the amazing reviews. It is a good place, worth the price, but not worth the 25 min drive it took me to get there. I'll probably go back for the coffee which was good, and to maybe try the toasts as I saw most people ordered the salmon toasts or avocado toasts.

If you plan on going there during the weekend to finish up some tasks on your laptop, I strongly advise you not to do it, since they have a laptop-ban on the weekends. Unfortunately, my partner and I happened to discover this today after we'd already paid 23 euros for hot drinks and dessert, since there was no visible sign anywhere indicating that laptops were not allowed. Funnily enough, after we tried to explain to the manager that this situation was, at the very least, unsatisfactory, she was not only extremely rude to us, but also went on to tell us this policy was clearly visible to the naked eye near the counter - this was far from being true, so much so that when we left, we tried to see if such a sign was there and couldn't find anything (not to mention there were several other customers working on their laptops as well, so we were definitely not the only ones who didn't notice the sign). Upon asking the employee at the counter where the sign was, she pointed to the door - the problem being that we saw someone putting it up there AFTER we had expressed our concerns, but it wasn't there when we came in. This is, indeed, very unfortunate, not only because we'd gotten used to visting this café to work on Sundays before and had been going there precisely for that reason (and note that nobody had ever indicated to us that there was such a thing as a laptop-ban), but also because we feel that we have no choice but to cross this café off our list of options (which is rather sad, considering that most of the employees, barring the manager obviously, are usually quite nice).

Although good products and location. Personnel came up to us and several other customers because: they didn't wanted people working on there laptops in weekend because they were aiming for a different 'ambiance'. Rather absurd policy in my opinion.

Overpriced for what they serve. It is in a nice venue, though (beautiful view of the church). Also, a good place to work/study on your computer

The room is too tight for all the tables they have, so you are always bumping into people if it is crowded. The coffee was good and the tea had a lot of fresh mint :) I didn’t like the waffles, since I could bite the sugar as it was not mixed well. I guess they did it faster because there was a lot of people waiting.

Coffee, croque monsieur was okay, croissant and pear pie was average, atmosphere is nice, a lot people… But not all staff is friendly:( we tried to get to cafe at the opening hours (weekdays and weekend) but all times we were said that they are closed and we need to wait another 15-30 min - not in a very pleasant way though opening hours says opposite and cafe was physically opened … When we asked why not to change opening hours on the wall they said they will do it:) Anyway keep in mind that they use winter schedule even in spring - opens around 8am in weekdays and around 9am weekend

I had chicken beagle and avocado toast. The food was average, while coffee was slightly better. I think if you come in less busy period of a day, you can expect slightly better quality.

Great selection of brunch choices. Decided to sit there and try the iconic Belgian waffles accompanied by coffee but they were only serving pancakes that day. However the staff was amazing and even offered to charge us for the price of the waffles. Decided to try the pancakes with the fruit. The portion was large and all the fruit were unexpectedly fresh. Very satisfied, although it’s a bit crammed inside and the spaces between the tables slim.

Have always wanted to try out this cafe since I heard a lot about this coffee shop.. I finally visited this place for a morning breakfast. Not sure if I can say what I heard was a bit overrated, but overall good place.. good coffee.. good food.. I won’t say it is the best.. there may be better ones in Brussels, but it is quite a nice cozy place.. the staff were good too.. loved the chicken quiche 🙂

What a pleasant place to sit and drink the so elusive matcha with oat milk! Friendly staff. Lovely cushy chairs. View of the gorgeous church. Good music. And look at the size of my avocado toast!!! Next time I will save room for a pastry...

I will not be returning. The pancakes were tasty and fluffy and the cafe styling was cute, but the food isn’t made fresh. The pancakes are heated in a microwave and the waffles are heated in a toaster. The lady serving us was also blowing her nose and immediately after picked up a waffle with her bare hands without washing them first. It was just a little disappointing because the cafe looked cute and there were a lot of people inside.

I recommand the Oat Flat White. The coffee tastes strong and balanced and the milk was steammed very well by the barista. The staff is friendly and able to guide me on the size (basically a flat white should be double shot in a small cup from my understanding, but in fact they do double shot in two different sizes of customer's choice.)

The first time that I visited the café, they almost had nothing. I asked for pancakes and they said that they didn't have. Then waffles, milkshake, then tea and coffee and they said no as well. I gave it a second chance as the place is really beautiful. We ordered Oreo pancakes and plain pancakes. I was quite surprised that there was not even a bit of chocolate in the Oreo pancakes... It was served with a scoop of maple syrup instead. I cannot really tell if this is a nice combination... It is the first time that I see Oreo pancakes without chocolate. I really felt like they smashed some Oreos, put 4 pancakes on a plate and that's it...We also ordered a mint ice tea which was not really tasty... I would recommend to add a few more options in the menu. The location is super nice but there are not a lot of things to choose from :)

Very cute and cozy atmosphere, nice view facing the church. Their coffee and quiches are also really good. Sometimes it gets busy and they ask you to microwave the quiche yourself, which I find a bit strange. But other than that, really cute spot to read or get some work done.

Well located and tastefully decorated café in Sablon. The service is a little on the slow side, but the bagels are tasty. One complaint was that the tables were absolutely filthy and staff didn't seem to be cleaning them between collecting used crockery, cups etc.

Nice place to relax with a coffee but unfortunately, the coffee was really poor. My wife and I ordered a oat flat white and an oat latte. When we asked which was which, they said they're the same drinks!!!!!😳 Both drinks seemed very watery so the espresso was probably over extracted and unfortunately had no taste, just bitterness. The good news however is that they use Oatly. 👍
