Attention... Attention... Belga team!!! First thing first. This review is mentioned for the sake of improving your restaurant. The food is not as it is mentioned in the menu, but we were really hungry (chicken salad is something else, and I think you better have a different name) Humous is very salty, and also, all other foods and cheese are cold) unbelievable 😳 Overall, the restaurant must be pretty prepared for such a busy period of the day to hold to the quality level as it is probably one1 of the classy in town! If it is busy here don't come my friends. If there is any improvement in the future's this review will be changed.

Nice place to have an occasional beer both during the day and at night. A bit pricey but normal for this kind of the place. Now, the peanut portion is a joke. Literally 10 🥜 for 3 euros, that's 30 cents per peanut. Probably the most expensive peanut out there.

Ein selbstbedinungs Café mit einer Auswahl an kleinen Snacks und Getränken, sehr beliebt, daher eher voll und laut, schon etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Ambiente.

I only went there late morning, so my review is not based on the night life this Cafe provides. Located in one of the busiest areas in Brussels (Flagey), their coffee selection is cheap. If you want to meet people for a breakfast in the morning, this is the place to go. Good large location...

It's a nice place to hangout and have a drink but it's expensive obviously due to location and view, services are good although we waited 10 to 15 minutes for bartenders to get our order. We tried a kind of sweet beer which I really recommend trying it.

This was the best coffee shop ever in my life. I don't know what happened but my card wasn't working in the cafe and I had a really long day so I needed a coffee. and the staff said that I could just take the coffee since their card machine isn't working. For me that really made my day. Of course later I got cash from my friend and gave them. it was a warm place for me. they really make good coffee and pain au chocolat. I recommend to everyone who comes to Brüssel. You will get good coffee, good food and great service. They accept cash and cards.

I've been going to this bar for years and their customer service has never been optimal or consistent. Sometimes you get served fairly quickly and by friendly waiters. Sometimes the staff is friendly but the service is really slow and if you're unlucky the service is slow and the staff is not friendly. The location is nice tho, food is okay and they have a lot of space for people to be seated.

This is a very unusual spot (in a great way). In the morning you can get a nice breakfast here as if it was just a regular cafe and in the evening you can party like crazy and dance on the tables. And it’s great at both of these thing! I would definitely recommend coming here:)

It is not just a cafe. You feel like you go out to a bar at night. Music is good. They speak English. They may forget your order , but it is normal when they are busy. Just tell them again.

This is an institution in the area. You want a big terrace with sunshine until late, good list of beers, easy food, it is the place to visit once if you are in Flagey. babies are welcome (they do have baby chairs). Music is a bit loud tho

The interiors and the atmosphere make you feel like you're back in the 80s and I loved it. Its chill and quiet (around 12am) and there's a lot of people just working on their laptops or having quiet meetings. There's bar service which results in a bit of a chaos with orders and it's hard to orientate oneself in the queue. The coffee was good and there's a separate bar with fresh sandwiches, salads and snacks. Great variety of drinks. Maybe a little bit on the expensive side. Thankfully, no tourists yet :)

Very nice place for a quick rest with a coffee. The stuff was really nice and we got our order really quickly despite the place being full. Additionally for every Taco Hemingway fan it is a must see in Brussels.

Time seems to have come to a halt at Cafe Belga. Local landmark of Ixelles and the most important café at Place Flagey. You have to order at the counter and wait until your drinks are ready which is awkward as you are also looking for a place to sit. Somewhat absent or arrogant waiters are what we came here for.

Beautiful people of Bxl, I think that Café Belga is in a wrong position of the map, when I went there it said something about the Architecture Faculty, please make it change, because I lost like 6 minutes being trolled by gmaps XD... but it wasn't something about me, I wouldn't care, it was because a friend of mine was waiting for me, and I hate to make wait the people, she was getting cold :'( and I wouldn't like that someone new to the place go through this situation :(... I asked some people in the place and they told me it was on the other corner. Thanks!!!

Café Belga, located in the heart of Ixelles at Place Eugène Flagey, is the quintessential hub of local life and a must-visit spot for anyone in the area. This establishment is more than just a café or restaurant; it’s a vibrant local bar that captures the essence of the community. The terrace at Café Belga is a standout feature, always bustling with energy and life. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful views of Ixelles. The variety of beers on offer is impressive, with hundreds of different types to choose from, catering to every palate. The atmosphere at Café Belga is lively and infectious, especially in the evenings when the place comes alive with live music and dance. The crowd is an eclectic mix of locals and tourists, creating a diverse and welcoming environment that is both exciting and comforting. A special mention must go to the bartenders at Café Belga. They are not only friendly and knowledgeable but also skilled in crafting some of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted. Their expertise adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the already fantastic ambiance. Café Belga’s combination of a fantastic atmosphere, delicious drinks, and top-notch service makes it a standout destination. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a quiet beer on the terrace or dance the night away, this place has something for everyone. It’s a vibrant representation of Ixelles’ spirit and a definite must-visit spot.

Great Cafè/Bar next in the middle of Flagey. Nice vibe, great beers.

A great place for an evening drink. There's a lot of people, sunset light, and a big terrace. There's a wide selection of beers and cocktails. The service isn't super friendly and it can sometimes feel crowded. It's a place you have to see in Brussels

My first day of work in Brussels was right here at Cafe Belga. Was too nervous to eat or drink anything but I did enjoy the atmosphere. If you don't have an office space but need a place to sit and work for a few hours, I recommend.

  • 4/5 Zahra S. 1 year ago on Google
Considering how usually crowded it is, the service has a hard time keeping up but it feels like an effortless authentic Belgian atmosphere experience. On weekends I'd book in advance as seats outside are quickly booked and the left side with fewer seats can be very noisy

Nice place with music and the Kir is tasty. You can as well sit outside… even when it is rather chilly outside.

  • 2/5 John Michael K. 7 months ago on Google
Nice atmosphere but disastrous bar management. They serve people that came 10 minutes after you and there aren’t enough barmen. They’re so cheap on the alcohol they put into their glasses and plus there’s the white night at 50m which is way better. Don’t recommend getting drinks from them.

  • 4/5 Alberto M. 1 year ago on Google
Limited selection of belgian beers. Food is regular, and they don't allow you to bring frites from the fritterie just crossing the square. But the ambience is nice, since it is the university neighbour and the theatre is next door, there's always an interesting crowd around and the bar has a good view from the corner of the square.

At this popular bar in Ixelles, you can expect a lively and rowdy atmosphere that's perfect for a night out with friends. However, I must say that my experience here left much to be desired. By night, it's a whole shithousery filled with dirty people. The place itself, when we were partying with friends, was also spilled with alcohol all over. While the atmosphere may be lively, the service was lacking. The staff seemed uninterested in providing quality service and were slow to take our orders. The products offered were of average quality, nothing special or noteworthy. One thing that makes this place stand out is the unique decor and layout. The space is large and well-designed, with plenty of seating areas and a spacious dance floor. However, the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail detracts from the overall experience. Overall, I have to deduct one star for the uncleanliness of the place and one star for the subpar service. To improve, the owners should focus on cleanliness and training their staff to provide better service. They could also offer more unique and high-quality products to attract more customers. While my experience was not the best, I am grateful for the lively atmosphere and unique decor. However, I cannot recommend this place with more than two stars out of five.

One of the best and most popular places around Ixelles to go for a drink. They offer a large variety of choices, and the location is really nice. The only down point of Café Belga is the fact it isn't very easy finding seats outside on the terrasse in the evening - you'll have to be a little patient and maybe jump on a few freed chairs before other people get to them.

Sometimes you can have a great experience gor the vibes, the people, music, etc. But, other times if you go in the afternoon for a bier at the terrace they takes ages to take your order.

This bar is a must in Brussels ! It's always a full house and the music is great ! You have to try out their incredible original cocktail "The Carousel" ! Sure to get the party started !

  • 4/5 Gauthier M. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome place to drink a coffee, sip on a drink or dance like no one is watching! The Carousel is the local cocktail and it’s amazing. Service can be slow.

A very local experience, for all ages depending on the tome of day. Service is quick and amiable. And a very central place to combine with another dining experience or a cultural experience around (Flagey, etc)

Cappuccino is basically a cup of hot milk with coffee flavor - so don't come here for good coffee. However, the terrace is nice and the staff is friendly. I guess I'll go back for an espresso or a bottled beer...

Lots of seating but it’s full very fast. Too much is a bit too loud to have a decent conversation. They do have a nice selection of drinks though.

I like this Café. They provide a decent service. Usually it's very busy and you will get your order with a bit of delay. It's located in the heart of Flagey and Friday and Saturday it's overwhelmingly busy...

It's a really nice place to chill and have a nice coffee/beer, listen to some music and enjoy your time. I'd say the prices are fine, a coffee costs around €3 and it's definitely not a tourist place. The interior is very welcoming and the bartenders are also very polite.

Excellent service! Visited Café Belga on Friday this week and went back on Sunday. I had an issue with a payment which was handled professionally. I will go back and recommend this place to others too.

Great place to mingle with the young, but not a place for dinner or quiet. Inside the music is so loud it’s empty. Whoever put this place in the Top 10 of Brussels must have been drunk or worse.

  • 4/5 Ignacio G. 1 year ago on Google
A must in Flagey area. Lively and ideal to hang out with friends, a classic in Brussels. Always crowded, even more at the terrace with nice weather. Beer selection and drinks is fine, kind staff.

Atmosphere is alright....service is very nice... Cocktails are not that strong though so don't expect to feel buzzed by drinking them... Music is not my style and apparently it changes according to the staff

Servers rude and cocky. Asking for a Virgin Mojito, the lady wasn’t happy to do it because it wasn’t “on the card” and said “we don’t do that”. Like it’s complicated to put mint, lemon and sparkling water in a glass instead. If it was another type of person asking, I don’t think the server would have given so much attitude. We still paid the full price though. Not the first time getting different attitudes from the server depending the way you look and with you you might be with! #BetterBeWhiteWhenAsking

Friendly staff, good coffee. It's a trendy place where (some) folks go just to be noticed so you might have to deal with their antics but I guess that's the cost of being a very popular spot.

  • 2/5 Daniel V. 1 year ago on Google
A Brussels institution. Have been going for 20 years however the place is on a downward trend. I think they are suffering from staff/manager shortage as they are not friendly. Ordered bacon and eggs, the last half a dozen times it came with delicious bacon strips however this time it came with 7 small lardons instead, the manager did not want to understand the difference. Food quality / value for money has greatly decreased. A shame as I loved this place with its decor and atmosphere. My opinion is they are losing what made the place good and now just focused on profits. Will definitely go back but not until I expect a staff/management turnover.

  • 2/5 Suzanna M. 1 year ago on Google
A bit disappointed after visiting cafe Belga, recommended as one of the landmarks of Brussels. Food below average, the salad filled with sugar, "freshly" squeezed fruit juice was premade. Place almost empty in the early afternoon but maybe it fills in the evening. And they didn't even have any hot chips. Feel like we wasted our time:(
