Another one of those old school places that hasn't changed in decades. It's always a little bit humbling to have a beer in a bar with this much history behind it. Tucked away in an alley between a weed shop and a waffle shop. Timmermans lambic is a bit too sweet for my taste, but you have to drink some here. The cervelas sausage at 3 euros is a great deal, and we split a pizza which was quite good.

Think a door leading you down a pathway and them opening up to a traditional cosy beer hall with wooden chairs lined up across long tables. This one’s a local favorite and well hidden from the eyes of tourists. I tried their porto rouge and loved it. More importantly, the atmosphere filled with local chatters is refreshing.

Traditional Brussels bar with classic Belgium beers available. Not the most adventurous beer list but well worth a visit for the experience. Freindly service

Amazing little hidden location! Very typical, friendly prices despite being sooo central, and just excellent beer and local snacks. Had the small testing combo, and accompanied it with wonderful dry sausage, mustard and pickles. Highly recommend the "Bourgogne des Flandres", aged in wine barrels.

Very rude waiter and owner in the restaurant. We had a 1-year old baby with us on the table and we had brought a small cake to celebrate her 1st anniversary. We requested plates from the waiter for the cake but he rudely told us that he has to charge € 15 for the plates. We didn’t get plates, and we ate the cake only with our spoons on the table (since we had already ordered food). The waiter and the owner rudely argued with us and charged us the € 15 just because we used the spoons to eat the cake. They have no respect whatsoever to customers. This owner loves money more than its customers. I don’t recommend this restaurant

(Translated by Google) Superb brasserie located in the center of Brussels. The staff are friendly and cheerful, they serve typical Belgian beers (I recommend the Bourgogne des Flandres). A place not to be avoided! :) (Original) Superbe brasserie située dans le centre de Bruxelles. (Translated by Google) Typical place of the old Brussels, with its access "between 2 doors", its typical furnishing and especially its essential lambic, served in a pitcher if you take a cooler. Let's not forget the snacks that make all its charm and calm the stomach well.

(Translated by Google) A great classic to show tourists passing through the center of Brussels; the smooth and flat Lambic is good but a bit pricey. This place is more of a trap for tourists' money than a real Brussels tavern. I much prefer the Imaige Nostre-Dame which is located a few tens of meters away; it's much more friendly and the atmosphere is warmer.

A great little spot that the major of people (tourists) won't see. A little hole in the wall brings you to a small backyard were you can enjoy drinks and food.

We had the signature lambic doux zoette and witte. Didn't read any reviews of the pastas but the carbonara we had was fantastic. Staff was very helpful dividing our pasta into 2 plates for sharing. Atmospheric beer hall to chill out.

What a hidden gem! We entered down a little passageway, pulled back the thick curtain behind the front door and found a gorgeous little bar! I wasn't drinking so cannot comment on the beers, but the food and the ambience was gorgeous. Will visit again!

Hiding in plain sight. Slap bang in the middle of tourist Brussels but no tourist dares to enter. What a gem. Truly excellent selection of beers.

  • 4/5 Tuan Nunes G. 1 year ago on Google
It's a very traditional and local beer house. Despite being right in the heart of the historic center, it might be easy to miss the entrance, but once you're in, you will feel right at home. Someone else's home. We felt like intruders while the locals were partying, clapping and singing shirtlessly. An interesting experience to say the least. Must have been the language barrier. They didn't have the beer I wanted despite it being on the menu. There was a cat sitting next to us at the table, the owner maybe? 🐈

A trip to the past and to taste homemade Lambic. A hidden gem to discover, at least once if you want to know something different in the centre.

  • 5/5 Michaël 1 year ago on Google
This is a traditional bar from Brussels. The entrance is a little hard to find if you don't know where it is, it's at the end of a hallway, with only a small opening on the street. They have a typical Brussels white beer on tap, served in traditional terracotta jugs, which is rather rare in the city. They have a good array of beers, soft drinks, and a few typical Belgian dishes. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, and it easily gets too packed. So don't go if you're agoraphobic. But apart from that it's a very typical experience when you visit Brussels.

Excellent litte beer hall with loads of character. Wasn't particularly busy but good staff and interesting music selection too, 40's and 50's. The gueuze blonde was very tasty, served in jugs and very reasonable prices for the centre of the city. Lovely smell from the waffle store next door too.

Great place. Small & kind of hidden jem. Nice warm feel to it. Small. Great staff. Only have 3 for cuisine . Only took Mhargherita pizza. Was just ok. Thin Crust was nice the size of a regular plate. They have 2 local beer and a nice brown on tap. I went twice and will go again. You can hear yourself talk even with lots of people. Was close last Monday. Not sure if regular thing

This is my favourite hidden gem café in Brussels. The soft Lambic beer is worth the trip alone. If you leave inebriated you can hold yourself on the side of the walls of the small alleyway.

(Translated by Google) Visited after 10pm on Sunday night. The entrance has flashy neon lights and signs, and there are many bird illustrations (Becasse is a woodcock) so it's easy to understand at night. There is a narrow alley at the entrance, and the building behind it is the shop. The store is not very large and the table is full. Speaking of coming from Japan, I was given a copy menu, and when I looked closely, I saw handwritten Japanese. I ordered a set of lambic beer and ravioli, and a platter of cheese and ham. Lambic was a good experience, as I couldn't even think of it as beer.

(Translated by Google) Correct for the Lambic. For the rest a nice setting but "forced old-fashioned". The staff do not know anything about the origins of the place. Very clean toilets. It has become something for tourists and bobos on a spree. No longer has the soul of Brussels, and nothing at all of Brussels. (Original) Correct pour la Lambic. Another traditional panelled Belgian bar, which serves Lambic beer amongst others. Very popular, but on the smaller side & can get crowded, but that all adds to the charm of the place. Staff are great & very obliging and the beers are superb. It's even served in a stone jug, which you can also buy as a souvenir.

One of those famous and historic bars in Brussels. Especially on a hot summer day the temperature is naturally cool due the small medieval streets. You can find here typical Brussels specialties. During tourist season it can be crowded.

A great beer outlet with quality Belgian beers, offering light snacks too, with table service. English is spoken very well by the friendly staff. The wooden panelling adds character to the room which is very well appointed with tables and chairs. We enjoyed a couple of jugs of the relatively expensive Gueze - a very enjoyable sour beer

  • 5/5 Gerhard L. 5 years ago on Google
Surprise, suprise. Tiny, traditional beer bar in the backyard. Great selection of Belgian Beers - as most of them are strong you should also take one of the snacks. The service ist very friendly, interieur and music invite to stay a little bit longer (and taste another beer). So happy, having found thus bar.
