Huge museum, with many interesting exhibits from medals to tanks and planes. And the panoramic view from the Arcades du Cinquantenaire is amazing! We spent there the whole day, and it was not enough. It's perfect as well for kids and adults, especially if you are interested in history. Of course, it's worth visiting and I recommend it!

This is a very important landmark and historical location used by the Russian government. My favourite period is the Soviet era which presented a country as a world superpower and was led for 29 years by Stalin, which was both praised and criticized. Gorbachev introduced relaxed rules and the country dissolved, however it remains a key place to see in Moscow and world landmark, as well as a building of beauty linked with Tsarism, Communism and Capitalism.

The Kremlin sits on Borovitsky Hill, rising above the Moscow River in the center of the city. Its first white-stone walls and towers went up in 1367-68, and a rebuild little more than a century later employed skilled artists and architects from across Europe to shape the site into roughly its modern form and appearance. During the early decades of the Soviet era, the Kremlin became an exclusive enclave where the state’s governing elite lived and worked. The site remains the official residence of the president of the Russian Federation but access to other areas within the walls has loosened considerably. Museums now display some of Russian history’s cherished relics here, and church services are once again performed in the Kremlin’s numerous cathedrals.

It is indeed one of the best museums where you can travel through time. It took us three hours to finish it, not taking enough time to read all the information as it was closing at 17h. It is indeed well designed and well-informed to visitors. We enjOyed every single corner of it. Though, when we reached the last part, which is for airplanes, there was not enough light (only for winter when we reached dark nights very soon.) There is a small cafe as well if you feel to take a few minutes of resting after such long journey through time. The museum itself is clean and nice. The staff are kind. About the parking plot, if you get lucky, you can park somewhere and then walk to this place. The ticket price which costs 11 euro is actually nothing, compared to what they offer you. I hOpe this review helps you, and I would like to thank every single member of this amazing cultural monument.

I guess visiting Moscow without visiting the Kremlin makes no sense. A must see! The churches in the Cathedral Square are unique monuments. Don't forget to see the Tsar's Canon and the Bell! Get your camera ready for LOTS of photos. The ticket is 700 rubles.

ArticleMediaAdditional Info The Kremlin Explore the history and architecture of the Kremlin complex in Moscow Explore the history and architecture of the Kremlin complex in Moscow Overview of the Kremlin, Moscow. Contunico © ZDF Enterprises GmbH, Mainz See all videos for this article As throughout its history, the Kremlin remains the heart of the city. It is the symbol of both Russian and (for a time) Soviet power and authority, and it has served as the official residence of the president of the Russian Federation since 1991. The Kremlin’s crenellated red brick walls and its 20 towers (19 with spires) were built at the end of the 15th century, when a host of Italian builders arrived in Moscow at the invitation of Ivan III (the Great). One of the most important towers, the Saviour (Spasskaya) Tower, leading to Red Square, was built in 1491 by Pietro Solario, who designed most of the main towers; its belfry was added in 1624–25. The chimes of its clock are broadcast by radio as a time signal to the whole country. Also on the Red Square front is the St. Nicholas (Nikolskaya) Tower, built originally in 1491 and rebuilt in 1806. The two other principal gate towers—the Trinity (Troitskaya) Tower, with a bridge and outer barbican (the Kutafya Tower), and the Borovitskaya Tower—rise from the western wall.

As an fan of World War II History this may be my favorite war museum I’ve visited to learn of the history, while they also cover various other time frames of Belgium history, the WW2 exhibit was extensive and fascinating experience to learn from. From having WW1 Tanks, There are also actual diaries from Belgian Concentration camp prisoners along with articles of clothing from said camps. Truly blew me and my guest away with all the history that was inside this building. Well worth the visit, plan on being in there for 2-3 hours if you enjoy history. As others have mentioned, they are renovating some parts of the exhibits but the best part in my opinion is uninhibited.

An astonishing collection! I think i have seen some displays as good as these, but never so many, nor so rich. The WWI and WWII heaps are minds blowing, but the eclipsed by the aviation hall. A staggering museum, and a must of you have any interest in military history!

Tolles Museum. Unfassbar riesige Sammlung zu allen 9 großen Themen. Gut beschriftet, viele Infos.

Essential for history buffs and military buffs alike. There are some unique and wonderful exhibits in wonderful surroundings. The aviation hall is particularly stunning with beautiful architecture. As a side note the gift shop is a mecca for scale aircraft modellers with many plastic kits from all eras including some very rare items, all very well priced.

Of all the military museums I have visited within the US and abroad...this one takes the cake...bar none! We definitely plan to go back as we short-changed ourselves by only planning to be there for around 90 mins...easily need 3-4 hours. I promise you and your kids (we had all three of ours with us) will not be bored. This was our #2 museum (Natural Sciences was #1) during our 3 day weekend stay in Brussels.

Really too good example of Russian architecture... It gives us a essence of how rich the Russian architecture is... Very fine carvings in the wall of the building... Many national events are held here periodically.... Vlamidir Putin also comes here often... Must be visited if one tours Moscow... It is greatest among the buildings of Eurasia and Europe...

An impressive collection of military artifacts, with a particularly strong selection of small arms. Not to mention the best, maybe the only, collection of trench mortars I've ever seen. Truly frightening things they are. They also have an unexpected and quite beautiful collection of materials from Imperial Russia. Very courteous and helpful staff, all in all a great experience.

The name "Kremlin" means "fortress inside a city"and is often also used metonymically to refer to the government of the Russian Federation in a similar sense to how "White House" refers to the Executive Office of the President of the United States. It previously referred to the government of the Soviet Union (1922–1991) and its highest members (such as general secretaries, premiers, presidents, ministers, and commissars). The term "Kremlinology" refers to the study of Soviet and Russian politics. The Kremlin is open to the public and offers individual and group guided tours.Visible are the Armoury Chamber, Tsar Cannon, Tsar Bell, artillery pieces, and the exposition of Russian wooden sculpture and carvings. The site had been continuously inhabited by Finno-Ugric peoples since the 2nd century BC. The East Slavs occupied the south-western portion of Borovitsky Hill as early as the 11th century, as evidenced by a metropolitan seal from the 1090s which was unearthed by Soviet archaeologists in the area. The Vyatichi built a fortified structure (or "grad") on the hill where the Neglinnaya River flowed into the Moskva River. Up to the 14th century, the site was known as the 'grad of Moscow'. The word "Kremlin" was first recorded in 1331(though etymologist Max Vasmer mentions an earlier appearance in 1320 The grad was greatly extended by Prince Yuri Dolgorukiy in 1156, destroyed by the Mongols in 1237 and rebuilt in oak in 1339.

A great museum for all ages! There is a huge amount of things to see and you can spend hours and hours in the museum without seeing the time pass. There a lot of important and rare historical pieces and their collection is very rich. A part of the museum has been renowned not long ago which modernized the museum a lot. The park and then the museums are must-sees for everyone who comes to Brussels. I am avid for history and wars in particular, the museum covers it all, it is no surprise if you would take a full day or more to cover everything, as you go up till the roof! The arms going from simple knives to heavy artillery, aircrafts and navy models... It's literally wonderland, Alice! Splendid stuff!

The museum is...big, and was probably a little overwhelming even for a modern history buff like me. The collection is huge, particularly for uniforms and handweapons, but can be a bit repetitive in the Napoleonic and ww1 sections. It is very nicely laid out however, and they've really taken the time to curate it and display it well. There is also a rooftop view available that offers a good view over the park, the EU buildings and towards the city centre. The building itself is very impressive.

A ticket will get you up to the top of the Arch with its great views, and into the war and aviation museum. The museum is big. Like really big. If you actually want to pause and read half the displays you'll need like 6 hours. Focus on the bits you want to see and get those done, and no one can take in this much museum in one go. Pretty good value for €10.

Visited several times the 1939 - 1945 section. A well-documented-2-floor section, explaining in detail the rise and fall of the third Reich. Simulation of a part of a ship, an Atlantic wall bunker, landing craft are foreseen. If this subject is of any interest to you, you need to pay a visit. € 10 entrance fee for adults. Every first Wednesday of the month free of charge.

Very large and well organized museum. Covers military history from swords to jets but much of the focus is on WW II. If you are at all interested in military history you should plan on spending several hours here. The admission price is reasonable, the staff speaks English and was very helpful, and a surprise: the Sky Cafe was quite good and not expensive. One negative... Most of the exhibits are documented but not in English.

It's a really nice museum with a lot to do - I've spent 3 hours and could've easily spent more. Nonetheless, I understand, that some sections are undergoing renovations or are old (talking about the aviation in particular). But why, why wouldn't you do the new exposition (the WWII) also in English? Yes, there are some here and there. But mostly it's in French and NL, or it's five times smaller and near the ground... Why? And in some sections, there are English labels and then not... Why so random?

I liked this museum a lot but at the same time I also hated it. I am quite conflicted about how to write this review. The pros: - the airplanes and tanks gallery is so cool - there’s so much on offer in this museum it’s unbelievable. - the place is huge. - the WW2 gallery look decent The cons: - It feels like every part of this museum has its own museum curator who is doing whatever they like. Nothing fits with each other. There is no coherent story between each gallery. And even the airplanes gallery was a mix of civil and military display of different decades intermixed it isn’t fully clear what are they trying to tell us from this display. - English description is only in some galleries but not in some. Why is this not consistent? - the lighting is all messed up. Some of the galleries were so dark, it was hard to see anything. - The museum is missing enough interaction and stories to keep you interested. - the place is huge but the paths are mixed up. You start in a gallery but it is not clear the time chronology to follow. You choose whatever you want to visit. I guess that’s ok but a bit confusing. It would be nice if the museum tries to tell the story of wars starting with the ancient ways up to the modern days. In a nutshell, this place is huge and has a lot of things, but it really could use a big revamp to be a cool museum that teaches and follows a consistent path rather than just a storage dump of armory related items and stuff.

The Grand Kremlin Palace is part of the Kremlin complex and is located next to the Red Square and St Basil’s Cathedral in Russia’s capital city Moscow. The Kremlin is a fortress with enclosing walls and is built along the Moskva River. The name ‘Kremlin’ means ‘fortress within a city’. The more than 500-year-old Kremlin includes the wall with its 20 towers as well as four churches and five palaces within the walls. The Kremlin was once the residence of the Tzars. Today, it is where the Russian president resides. The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, usually refered to as Saint Basil’s Cathedral, is easily recognised due to its nine brightly coloured onion domes.

(Translated by Google) Not that interesting. Took an audio guide. There was a feeling that I was in the lesson of 'the foundations and values of Orthodoxy', all these canons, the names of saints and other words are absolutely not interesting to me. I come to the museum to find out who, what and when, built-achieved-married and how it was. Very weak when compared with European museums, the same Isaac or the Vatican. There is little information about technologies, historical dates and linking events to this place, but a lot about "the most important events in the life of Mary and Christ are depicted here" or something like that. Did not impress.

A must see

A fantastic museum on the military of Belgium. The museum is huge and it hard to get through it in a timely matter. It doesn't help that there's not much English, nor laid it in a chronological manner. Don't get me wrong, the exhibits are excellent and there's lots to see. It just difficult to understand unless you speak French or Dutch.

I enjoyed the exposition of the military uniforms of different times on the first floor. A part with military machines including tanks and helicopters was also interesting, but that area of the museum is not heated which makes it difficult to enjoy in the winter unless you have your winter clothes with you and haven’t left it at the locker at the entrance. Very nice view on the city at the Panorama level.

(Translated by Google) Undeniably, the work of collecting and fitting out this museum is to be commended. The hangars are beautiful and impressive. On the other hand, there are several black spots. First of all, the reception and the staff are unfriendly. Then, it regulates in some rooms a stifling heat. Then, the structure of the museum is not very intuitive with a chronological logic little respected. Finally, this history museum is the archetype of the Manichean place and revisionist limit par excellence. We need to offer our children and the general public a factual and unbiased view of History, but regard the good Belgians and Allies as white knights, the Germans as the secular villains, the Soviets as the cronies of the Nazis. , and justifying nuclear bombings is not serious from a neutral and objective point of view. Usually, I go back to this kind of museum several times, but here it will be NIET! (Translated by Google) Museum to avoid. We go to museums regularly, but a welcome like this we have never experienced. We booked and already on the phone the person was very dry and did not want to give any information. It is 11am, but we are warned that if we come (obviously, avoid coming, you have to leave at 3:30 p.m. because the museum closes at 4 p.m.). At the reception, the gentleman is busy talking with a friend on the phone and makes us wait, then very curtly, he explains to us that we must be out at 3:30 pm because the museum closes at 4 pm. We find that not everything is on and some rooms are very dark. Several light sensors are not working. We are 5 visitors from 2 to 3:30 p.m., but there are a lot of guards who turn. When we get to the planes, they are already closing rooms when it is 3 p.m. We ask the guard to see room 40-45, he answers us that he does not know! We search, we find, we are told that we will have to go out (it is 3:15 pm) .. We left. Museum to avoid. Unsympathetic, incompetent, lazy, ... I don't know what qualifier to give. When in the 40/45 collection it is very well done, but the rest seems dusty, poorly maintained and cold. One of the overlooked museums of Brussels. It's huge and has an enormous collection not only linked to the Belgian military. Its collection of planes is really impressive. The history of Belgian Antarctic exhibitions is one of the many discoveries you'll make here. It is really a pity that no one renovates the building itself. It needs a solid shift from mid-20 century into the 21 century and lots of repainting.

The museum displays uniforms, weapons, vehicles, tanks, airplanes and military equipment of all ages and all countries.

A wonderful place for military enthusiasts. A huge collection of weapons from the cross-ages: from the Middle Ages to the end of the Second World War. An impressive collection of planes and combat vehicles! The only thing I miss is a collection of modern firearms, especially that the FN plants have something to be proud of. However, the collection of Mauser, Lee Enfield and Mosin rifles, which are available in many not very popular versions (including war remakes), deserves special emphasis.

  • 4/5 Omar G. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome museum. The amount of information is huge. There are several exposition zones dedicated to different historical periods. WWI is phenomenal in that aspect. The guns collection is huge. Extra points for having a Mosin-Nagant 🤩. Tha airplane collection is phenomenal too. They have an entire hangar full of historical and cult models like: Mig-17, F-16, F-4F, F-86, etc. Having said that. There were a few drawbacks. The amount of information is huge but very little of it is translated to English. Because of that I spent +3 hrs on the “low hanging fruits” and when I was in the middle of the hangar I was told to leave because they were closing in 15 minutes. I couldn’t even see the tank exposition 😔. I felt deeply disappointed because I spent quite sometime on the museum reviewing the details of the expositions but when I requested 5 more minutes to quickly finish having a glance at what I was missing on the plane’s hangar they said NO. The disappointing thing was that after I left there were people still leaving for the remaining 15 min. As an advice, it would be great to warn visitors one hour before closing. With so much info the true fan can easily stay more than 4 hours. On top of that, rest rooms were not in a good shape. Easily the worst rest rooms in Brussel’s museums and I visited over a dozen during my week.

  • 5/5 Yuying R. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely worth a whole-day visit! So regretful that I only started touring at 1pm for the "free first Tuesday afternoon", and had to leave at 5pm without quite finishing. The museum had a wealth of artifacts spanning an interesting period of historical time, of an interesting country. Most descriptions were of course in French/Dutch (some had English in a smaller font); some walls had touchscreens that held full English descriptions. The texts, like other historical museums in Brussels, had the distinct European reflectiveness (compared to what I was used to in the US and China). I was surprised to find in the WWII section that the museum remembered about the invasion of China and southeastern Asian countries.

The only thing that was disappointing about my visit is that at least 25% of the museum was closed because of renovations. The shop was also closed because they lacked employees. However, the collections are jaw-dropping and I highly recommend going here if you're a military vehicle enthusiast. The recommended time on the website should be adjusted, I personally recommend at least a good four hours to visit everything. There is also a small café to take a rest and eat a little something.

  • 4/5 Michael M. 1 year ago on Google
I mainly went to see the part of the museum with the airplanes. They had a WWII exhibit that was very interesting prior to going to see the planes. The part of the museum with the airplanes was interesting. Bit variety of airplanes and helicopters. What I found to be disappointing was the amount of dirt and dust on the airplanes. To be fair, it looked like the museum was under a bit of construction, but still——take the time to keep these clean. F-16, F-4, Caravelle, and lot of other really cool planes. Some I had never seen before coming here. To get there, I walked about 40 minutes from Central station. To get back to the Central station, I took at train. About 4 stops from Sluman. The entrance fee was 11 Euros.

The indoor section is very interesting. My favorite part was the recreation of german ww2 bunker (the ww2 section). The staff carefully explained why the ww1 section was closed. The outdoor section (the tanks) was very poorly, with only two real tanks. I highly recommend to visit the museum.

Outstanding museum! The breadth of the collection is vast and it is displayed with interest and interactive points to absorb your attention. You almost need several visits, there is so much to see and you get lost in time reading the display descriptions. Enjoyed climbing to the viewing platform on top of the Cinquantenaire arch and ate one of the freshest and tastiest sandwiches I’ve had in the Sky Bar café, in amidst the plane wings! All in all, a top experience!
