I am truly shocked by this restaurant. I had a salad with hummus and literally received a large plate with raw vegetables very similar to how I feed my rabbits. There was no seasoning of something that would make this agreeable to eat. The hummus served with this was very average in taste and small in portion. The worst is that you pay 18 euros for the salad which you can probably make better and cheaper at home. Also the fact that this is served in the restaurant of the botanical garden - which should advocate an ecological way of life and persuade people of more plant-bases meals - is appalling. Avoid if possible. Maybe do a picknick in the lovely park instead !

Visited the place. Impressions are as follows. Food is no good. Had so called hamburger (14 euro) and it was a preheated cheap peace of something that surely had some percentage of meat in it. Fries were a bit better but generally Mac Donalds wins so far. What is called croquet is not a croquet but sth like a cheap bread toast with ham and cheese. Wine which is 4,5 euro, home one, probably was bought for .75 cents a liter or something similar. Advice. Take your food with you here, park is very nice. Maybe there is something good to eat here. But i would not try anything else personally. Cassier was nice and friendly. Cherry beer was ok. Rest of food is to forget.

Really expensive for what it is. 15€ for a Croque that is bland and tasteless. The soup was sooo salty and from a tin I think. Again, very expensive. Also, when you charge so much it shouldn’t be self service. I feel a little ripped off.

Waited literally an hour for a croque-monsieur (a toast). Long queues, quite expensive, staff had no control. Only accepts Maestro and cash, so we had to go to the ATM outside the park. Lots of other people also had to wait far too long to get their food. An absolute mess.

Not good price vs quality/service. Self service! The limonade is 5 euro s for a small glass with no inspiration. Vegan salad 18 euro for also very average plate and didn’t know mayo was vegan..

The great thing about this place is the location, with a terrace in the middle of the botanical garden. Apart from that, it is really such a wasted chance. If you are seated inside, the atmosphere is of a waiting room; the acoustics are awful; the food is less than mediocre, for a more than average price; and on top of that, you have to get your order yourself and are expected to clean your own table. What a wasted chance for a place that could be absolutely stunning.

Nice, sunny terrace with a view on the lake and comfy chairs, good selection of beers, warm waffles, sweet treats and great fries. Inside area is also quite cosy. Self service, the guy at the counter was very kind.

Love the plantentuin. The oranjerie has a lovely location by the water, big terrace with seats in the sun and shade. Staff is friendly. Food, unfortunately is very poor. I had a vol-au-vent today which was a thick starch sauce with hardly any meat, a soggy pastry and lukewarm fries, and which which gave me food poisoning. Such a lovely location and space has real potential for a (high end) restaurant or fun brasserie. Advice: don’t eat there. Order a drink and enjoy the terrace.

We were there at about 4:30 pm and there already wasn't much left from the menu (no more fries at this hour!), also they were closing the kitchen at 5 pm. The prices for a bigger snack were pretty high as well. At an earlier hour we would've had a better experience though.

Apart from the location and scenery this place is not worth it. It is way too expensive for basic food and self service. The management is chaotic but helpful when asking questions.

Great location, managed the Belgian way. Order at the counter only, so you need to queue. The Kitchen is not only open so sometimes in the afternoon you can’t get a croque monsieur. Only Bancontact or cash, had to beg a friend for money. Still worth it.

Decent food, nice outside setting. Inside it feels a bit like a cantina which a few plants could've remedied. Especially since it's located in a botanical garden.. service was good.

Convenient cafe in the park with lake view terrace. Soup was okay, delicious homemade lemonade and apple tart was good. Service was quick and friendly. Unfortunately accept only cash or bancontact

Food is decent at best, but prices are high. Almost 50euro for a burger and croquettes with two drinks. Took just short of 1h30 before we got our order!!!
