This is, honestly, the best European restaurant I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining in. The John Dory fish fillet was absolutely insane; so soft and flavourful. The ice cream with chocolate was so so good too! The mussels were amazing too. The waiters were so nice and observant and made you feel welcome. Absolutely loved coming here and I already want to go back.

Chic restaurant in the heart of Brussels at the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries. The place was bustling, and we were lucky enough to snag the last table. Making a reservation is highly recommended, as we witnessed many being turned away. The food was outstanding! The grey shrimp croquettes were crispy and warm, the mussels were plump and juicy in a delicious broth, and the beef carbonnade melted in the mouth with tenderness and was engulfed in a rich, tasty gravy. While not cheap, the quality and exceptional taste of the food justified the price. However, the service fell short: they forgot to bring serviettes, wet wipes for the mussels, and even bread upon request. Overall, the evening felt a bit rushed and hectic, as if they were eager to turn tables quickly.

Very attentive service and tasty food! Loved the duck breast in orange, though maybe the sauce could have had a bit more orange flavour. Delicious T bone! We ordered a la carte but their menus also looked good

Highly recommend you get a reservation. We got a table without one, but most people were being turned away after us. We just got lucky. You really want to take your time and enjoy the food! The escargot was great. The rabbit was delicious. Easy to overcook, so very appreciated it wasn't. The scallops were also good. Some additional bread to soak up some of the sauce would be good. That's about it really. Would definitely recommend this place, as the prices are reasonable and not as expensive as some other higher end dining found in Brussels.

We came here because of the very good reviews. Besides their Ala carte menu, they have set menus priced at 32, 37 and 42 Euro, which I feel are great deals. We tried the first two. Portions were big and food was pleasant tasting. Staff who served us was very friendly. Some things that I wished would be improved on: - having wait staff stationed on the second floor where we sat. It sometimes took us 15 minutes just to get service or request for something. - overall the meal was very slow. We had something on and if we didn’t rush them, it would have taken us 2 hours. As it was, we were there for about 1 hour 45 minutes.

Amazing experience- food, service, ambience. This was the highlight of our trip. Service is excellent and the food is amazing. The rabbit stew - super tender and delicious. Croquettes- amazing. The liver pâté sensational. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommended!

Great service and great food. We had the mussels starter which was quite a big serving still. The oysters were delicious and so was the steak with Roquefort sauce. It might be a tad too cheesy for some. My least favourite was the shrimp croquettes, slightly over done and not to my taste. The service was impeccable, well looked after and even replaced my peach beer when a wasp decided to take a swim in it.

Attentive service, pleasant, reserved ambiance, good seating arrangement. Lobster bisque was well seasoned and enjoyable, although admittedly I would have liked to have had a piece of lobster in it. Mussels Marmiton was delicious. Full of flavour, well presented, sauce a delicate and fragrant. Really enjoyed it. Overall a good experience, wild go again. Make a reservation though, they were fully booked.

Amazing experience! The oven baked mussels in garlic and butter are to die for. We tried the fish stew and baked chicken with veggies—both were incredible. The restaurant has tables outside in the cutest alley so we got amazing views of the sunset too. Tons of nightlife and other bars to grab a drink before or after. Our server was the absolute best.

What a jewel right in the heart of Brussels. I feel like 5 stars don’t do the justice to this place. It should be 7 or something. Great staff, amazing food, magic atmosphere. Everything we’ve tried there was delicious. Mussels were absolutely amazing and I’m the picky one when it comes to it. We’ve got the table without reservations but it was also the last available table so after that people left with long faces. So do make a reservation and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, whatever your food preferences are.

Everyone was so lovely to me the tourist. And the other reviews are right - these are the BEST MOULES FRITE (MUSSELS AND FRIES) IN BRUSSELS. other places are not as flavorful or plentiful or food service wise. Yes it's a nicer restaurant but it's the real thing and it's worth the price. I got the spicy house moules frites and they were one of the best things I ever ate. And I eat a lot, everywhere! Go here if craving the best. Look at the menu before you get there too because they also have some fun tasting menus as reasonable prices. Lastly the drinks were cheap overall, Yay! Enjoy the food and view and service. 10/10

Excellent: fresh and flavorful food. The escargots are succulent. The lapin à la Kriek was flavorful, but the meat was not falling off the bone as I hoped for. The server was very nice and dynamic.

Fantastic food. Highly recommend the beef stew and bouillabaisse. Highly recommend. The only downside I would mention is the service can be a bit clumsy, some soup was spilled (twice) on my friend

Nice food! They have several set menus to choose from. Really tasty. Service was a little slow but they were busy. I recommend making reservations, especially if you have more than two people or don't want to sit outside. We had a nice time~

Went there last night for my birthday dinner and had such a nice vibe to it. Salmon was beyond delicious. Cooked so perfectly. And the Pinot wine we ordered tasted fascinating! Service was beyond great! Ranya? Hopefully i spelled it right showed spectacular customer service. She was great. The atmosphere was so great that when they had bright a candle to sing a birthday (i wasn’t expecting lol) everyone started singing and clapping along. Thank you for such good memories. Highly recommend.

Great place, among all the tourist traps around it, Le Marmiton is an actual fine dining restaurant in Brussels downtown. The service is great and food is amazing and well made! I enjoyed everything i ate there and came back for seconds! I had the lobster bisque which was fantastic, the beef stew was a good portion and great flavor and texture, the oven baked mussels were also amazing. They always serve olives with the complementary bread and butter. Such a treat.

As a local l recommended first time visitors to enjoy the Menu sympa (27€ in 2022) for the first time to try Belgian cuisine ( don’t forget to ask for handmade mayonnaise for fries !) And come back for plats du jours during the week for lunch. House white wine is fruity. Summer even fully booked but available terrasse for those who arrive early. It takes Vacation patience to serve for your courses if full. Multilingual service waiters highly appreciated as we are in Brussels !

Best meal in my trip to Belgium! Moules Frites were amazing - deep flavor in the broth, crispy veggies, and the frites were fried in beef tallow for extra richness. Scottish smoked salmon was a fantastic starter, served with toast, herbs, and onions. Complementary olives were a nice touch, as was the delicious butter served with fresh bread. My father got a traditional Belgian waterzooi chicken stew, a bit bland but seemed very authentic. More like a chowder than a soup. House white wine was fantastic, I was very pleased because carafe wine can be a gamble. Great location at the edge of the St. Hubert Galleries Mall. Very little outdoor seating, but the inside was elegant. A bit cramped, so it may be tough for handicapped access. Fantastic service, food was timed perfectly at a relaxing pace. Highly recommended, but make a reservation (even for Mondays).

Starters are super. Especially my foie gras, even served with a cup of Porto. The duck breast is super tender and delicious. It’s Brussel and this restaurant just IN the tourists area, this kind of quality and price is totally beyond my expectations. Will come back.

We went for a dinner here after reading about this restaurant in an article. We tried Belgian and Flemish food during our visit. The mussels and chicken in particular were really good. The chicken was succulent and perfectly cooked. The sauce was rich and flavourful. The mussels had a rich broth of garlic and white wine. And as I love seafood, I enjoyed it with bread a lot.

Do book before coming here, they are usually full house! Service was great and we particularly liked the hare, mussels, foie gras and the grey shrimp croquettes! Highly recommend when you are here at Brussels

The food at this place was absolutely amazing. If you want authentic Belgian food, this is the place to go! Definitely make a reservation though, maybe a few weeks ahead of time. This place fills up quick. I was able to “squeeze in” by stopping by exactly when they opened for dinner and was lucky to be seated.

Le Marmiton restaurant in Brussels is a must-visit, especially for their delicious mussels dish. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. While everything was delightful, the fries could've been a tad crispier. Overall, it's a fantastic dining spot in Brussels.

We got lucky to get a table for 2 during a very busy evening without a reservation. The food was soooo yummy! And the staff was impeccable! They are so friendly, sincere, and accommodating. I would definitely recommend eating here! But don't test your luck, make a reservation because I don't want you to miss out!!

Tried to book online a day before and it shows fully booked for 2weeks, so we decided to try our luck and went to the restaurant in person Luckily, we got a table We ordered one carpaccio beef to share as starter. We got 2 separate plates so we thought the waiter misunderstood and put in 2 starters but we were only charged for one starter at the end, so turns out the chef separated it for us! It was a great surprise and the portion is large if that's one portion! I had mussels for the main, ordered the spicy one but it wasn't spicy, turns out it was mussels with white wine, so can't comment on the spicy soup hahah The carbonnade was good too and the chips were crispy and very flavorful Had apple pie to finish and it was tasty 😋

Had a fantastic time today at La Marmiton. Our waiter Raphael was more than helpful and amicable. He helped us in seating during this busy time in Brussels although we didn’t have a reservation. The food was superb. I will definitely come back when visiting Brussels. Highly recommended to all Brussels visitors.

After being seated it took a bit of time to get drinks but once it started service was very good and attentive. The food was very good and one could discern that the stocks and sauces were homemade. The appetizers and main courses were well spaced out and wine service was attentive. Honestly a very nice evening out in Bruxelles.

My husband had a nice experience with Ocean menu with 4 courses (last one is dessert). As vegetarian I selected starter and main dish from the regular menu: fried Belgian cheese (surprisingly good) and a dish of assorted vegetables. They were all good. The attendants were very polite and friendly.

The food was nicely prepared and presented. Had the menu marmiton - salmon starter needed a bit more salt but otherwise good. The veal was cooked just right. Cheese plate was a bit monotonous/mono-flavoured. My brother had the duck confit - huge portion. Skin could have been crispier.

(Translated by Google) Restaurant located in one of the most beautiful galleries in the capital, very warm place and staff and always delicious cuisine. The tastes are at the top, the quantities more than sufficient for very reasonable prices. The 'Armoricaine' lobster prepared exclusively by the chaf and on demand for the Christmas meal was a real delight, a real success. (Congratulations to the chef and the teams) In addition, a bottle of wine was even offered to us when the order was collected. The service of some establishments before the Covide epidemic left more than to be desired but not at Le Marmiton, everything is always very good before and even during, we will return with great pleasure. We recommend without hesitation! Thank you again for contributing to the success of our Christmas dinner. Booked this really fancy restaurant for our last dinner in Brussels… & oh man was this a good investment or what! The warm grilled mussels for starters & the grilled duck for main course were absolute winners! The chocolate dessert was amazing too but the portion was a little too much after such a large meal… it is ideally a share for two people but then we also wanted to try their crème brûlée too… so maybe the dessert portions could be smaller.. lovely ambience, amazing service & consideration for food allergies! Absolute must visit for/ on a special occasion!

We managed to get a seating even though it was full (had to wait for 30mins for the slot but it was since the location is fabulous for passing time) Food was excellent and great value. House Cabernet Sauvignon was good as well the draft Beer on tap. Baked Goat cheese was good, beef steak was perfectly cooked. Mussels was flavorful although the sauce was a tad salty. I was very surprised that the in-house made Tiramisu did not have cognac in it which was a shame as it was clearly missing from what would have been a superb tiramisu. Excellent service! Highly recommended!

Amazing place with an exquisite cuisine, not only Belgium but also other dishes. Excellent wine menu selection. Better to go with reservation. Special mention to our friendly and profesional waitress Rania😊

Superbe location, we did not reserve for a Sunday 14:00 , it was packed but they could find us a lovely spot to sit outside. The service is exceptional, the timing of the dishes, the attention of the waiters to see if everything is ok is spot on. The dishes are of very good quality, with local ingredients of high standards. Best moules frites poulette ever tasted. The carbonnade is also very good.

I have travelled to many countries throughout Europe and I have to say, this is the best European food I have ever had. It is so authentic, bursting with flavour which was not only amazing but unique and new to the palette. If I'm Brussels, you must come here. We both had set menus, one being €27 and the other €30. Along with this the staff were extremely friendly and polite, providing an amazing service. I don't usually visit the same restaurants twice when travelling because I like to have a range of a cultures food, but I'm gonna have to come here twice!

Not bad but slightly overpriced for what you get here. For the starter mussels were really good but salmon for the main - barely an average level - overcooked and dry. For the dessert you can't go wrong with ice cream and Belgian chocolate with whipped cream. Be aware that service takes a but longer than many other places so buffer enough time.

Perfect score for the food! We ordered snails as appetizers, they were so good! Wish we saved more bread to soak up the butter at the end. Then we had the Marmiton mussels (great quantity, delicious broth) and the duo of grilled fish (perfectly cooked, nicely paired with shrimp, mussels and veggies). The price is a bit higher than the shops around, but we were very satisfied with the quality/quantity. We did not have a reservation and arrived right at their opening (18:00). We took the last table available, and saw so many people get turned down after. So would really recommend to reserve in advance if possible, or try your luck by coming early.

Very generous portions and decent pricing considering the location. The restaurant is a nice respite from the buzz and noisy of the city centre, but you might need to make reservations. Food was above average if not exceptional, but this is a great choice right in the centre of the touristic zone. Visit Date: May 31, 2023

Everything is very delicious here. I’m quite picky of a guy, but this restaurant is really good, no doubt. You can tell that the seafood is fresh. I tried the sea food mix as a starter; waterzooi as a dish. The latter is a traditional Belgian dish and turned out to be very delicious (if you’re hesitating, just go for it, you’ll thank me).

Nice place and service. The food was ok but not great. Chips were cold, meat stew was chewy, not much meat in the rabbit, etc. the bar tender was also a bit rude with us because we did not have a reservation but the waiters make everything better. The croquettes and waffle were delicious.

Came back to this restaurant a second time as I couldn’t pass on one more portion of the Moules Poulette. This restaurant has amazing food, great location and superb wine selection. Get here by 6:30pm the latest if you don’t have a reservation as it will be full after even on the first come outside seating. The service is impeccable. Try the half litre Chablis for a spectacular wine to pair with the moules.

A lovely restaurant at the entrance of Royal Gallery shopping mall. This restaurant is a classy place with a variety of traditional Belgian/French dishes like snails, mussels, rabbit, paultry, and many others. The staff were extremely friendly and chatty, they helped us to select wine and all dishes were brought on time. I would recommend to try salmon carpaccio and rabbit leg. Book the day before, they are very popular!

Absolutely amazing food, service and they really understand being a Coeliac and providing gluten free to accommodate everything. Gluten free bread rolls spectacular. Thank you lovely staff and chef, we hope to be back again from Australia when we can. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Incredible food, but bad management of the switch of turns. I went with my mother to enjoy some traditional Belgian dishes and the food did not disappoint us at all! The baked mussels with garlic butter are a must! You should not leave the restaurant without trying them. However during the change of turns, the service was not great. We waited 30 minutes between the appetizers and the main dish, because it seems the forgot to order it in the kitchen with the change of turns among bartenders. In the second turn there was a young girl that was neglecting the tables in the terrace. We also waited quite a long time to pay. My recommendations: 1. try to avoid going around 2 pm, go earlier to avoid the change of turns. 2. Make a reservation. The place is usually full and most likely you will not be able to get a table if you do not book in advance.

Very nice place to sit and the waiters were awesome, but the food was just ok. The Carbonnade was dense and tough, if its a stew it should melt, maybe no? Mussels were also just ok.

Delightful treat among the row of touristy restaurants. Highly recommend a reservation! I was able to snap a table with a 40m wait on Tuesday night. Healthy list of wines, but as a non picky wine drinker, I'd have a go at the selection of house wines at 6 euros a glass! All delicious choices. The snails and the mussels are an ABSOLUTE must. if you have room, follow it with beef stew, then if you have more room, fries! Skip on dessert, and eat a few more of those mussels because it'll be awhile before you find another pot of mussels that is so delicious.

I booked a table at Le Marmiton two weeks before our trip to Belgium (based on the large number of positive reviews and the convenient location, close to our hotel)... and I am very glad that I did! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cosy, and the service was perfect. The mussels were paticularly good! A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable Friday night in Brussels. I highly recommend this restaurant.
