Great restaurant with fresh, delicious mussels. Probably the best and tastiest I’ve ever had. There are tons of choices on the menu. Also there’s a menu deal available which is very affordable at 30 euros which includes a starter, main course and dessert. We had the cheese croquet for the starter - yummy. Then for the main dish the mussels in cream, garlic and herbs. Just delicious and a huge portion with fries of course and tartare sauce. Also took the onion soup which was very good. Everything was homemade and arrived hot at the table. For the dessert we had the delicious chocolate mousse. The service was kind and the place is styled in a typical Belgian homey atmosphere. Such a nice experience. We will definitely come back.

The food was excellent, the staff were friendly but could not give a good service as they were overstretched. Ordered 3 drinks and got 1 all evening. We had a group of 10 and there were other groups there, it was hard to hear anyone, until the food came out! Menu comes in a comic book, it should be titled 'van damme' as they have 69 versions of 'mussels from brussels'

My second time in Brussel, This is the best restaurant that I ever had in town. I ordered Royal Madagascar prawn, Mussel with cognac and mushroom, Minced raw beef and Vol au vent. Every dishes are absolutely delicious especially Mussel one. I don’t understand some comment complained about mussel, this restaurant served very fresh and very big mussel rather than some restaurant in town. They also provided a very good service Definitely come back again ❤️

We went from the city center in search of a more authentic less tourist trappy restaurant and we can tell you they did not disappoint. It took If you go for the molues frites there will be as much as 69 different "flavourings". The service was good as well!

Had a great dinner for a family reunion here. The service was excellent and friendly. Clear indication of which dishes were gluten free was useful for our group. The mussels were very good with impressive choice of sauces. Some things which could have been better for 5* : there were sadly no gluten free options for dessert the snails did not seem to be fresh ;p will come back though

Oh My God! 69 different types of mussels, homemade croquette crevettes, great Brussels waffle with fenomenal artisan biscoff (Speculoos) ice cream and creme fresh. Had a great dinner here! Went for the mussels 'belle mère': with lardons, peas and malheur (beer) sauce. Best I've ever had. The restaurant is decorated with lots of belgian comic book figures and you get your menu (written in 'Brusseleir') in an old comic book. In total we spent about 120eur for 2 people, 3 courses and some champagne (2 glasses). I also bought 2,5L of the speculoos ice cream for home. It was expensive (36eur) but outerworldly good!

We are in the search for the best mussels in Bruxelles. I read great reviews about Le Zinneke, and to be honest, the experience was great. Amazing service, very fast and attentive staff. The mussels we order (bacon, white wine and mushrooms) were absolutely delicious. The frites were just OK. Drinks were good and at a good price. They even gave us a very good apple shnaps for digestion. We also got a 10 EUR discount and we have no idea why. Ok, this would've been a 5-star experience, however, as soon as we got home, my partner started vomiting non, stop. Looking back, I had a few mussels that were stock to the shell. probably 5 or 7, and few dead (stinky) mussels. I did not bother eating them because they were really stock! I am sure my partner felt she did not want to waste food and ate those. It could be it. I thought maybe she ate some pieces she should have not eaten. But then as soon as she left for work the next morning, I noticed I had diarrhea. If it was not for the aftermath, it would have been an amazing experience. So maybe we were unlucky, but I do recommend you go try this place.

I loved my first experience with Mussels here at Le Zinneke! The food was truly excellent from starter to dessert, with a great wine to accompany the dish. I has mussels with lemongrass, ginger, and cream (style 57 of our 69) and loved them. I'd highly recommend this if you want to see more of the city on a nice walk, or try different varieties of mussels.

The mussels were very good, and the fries were very crunchy. They had 69 different recipes for the mussels. If you want to try mussels, this is the right place. The portions are huge! The atmosphere is nice but it was a little cold inside.

I am actually writing this from the Italian restaurant across the street after having to leave the restaurant due to the fact they had no mussels. Yes, you heard me, the place that boasts 69 mussel recipes had no mussels. First, we called the restaurant asking if they had any reservations. We were promptly told 8:30 pm was the earliest they could seat us. We could come no earlier, not even for drinks. So, happy to enjoy "the best mussels in Brussels" for the last night of our trip, we honored their request and arrived promptly at 8:30. Upon peering through the windows of the restaurant, we were greeted kindly. We were seated at a nice 5 person table in the courtyard. Menus were given, drinks were ordered, and all was well. Even I ordered mussels, though they aren't my favorite food, but I wanted to try the best ones in town. Being gluttonous Americans but also deeply hungry by 8:30 pm, my entire family of 5 each ordered their own pot of mussels. We sat for about 5 minutes in the sparse ambiance when a new waiter fearfully stated that he had bad news. Somehow, they were out of mussels. You may ask, how does that happen? This is a mussels restaurant that is open after 8:30 and they don't have what they advertise? or even why would they seat you and have you order if they had no mussels? I also ponder these questions. Unfortunately, I will never get an answer, because I decided it was time to leave the restaurant. Half of my family stayed behind to pay for the drinks, and I will admit they absolutely did not make us pay for the drinks and were very apologetic, hence the second star. That second star truly only goes out to that singular man who comped our drinks. All of the other stars I have to give go out to the Italian place across the road, which thankfully, had the food they advertised. So yes, that's my adventure with the best mussels in Brussels. If anyone reading this review knows where I can find them, please let me know. I'd like to try them. Seriously. P.S. I do know the owner tends to reply to these reviews, so if he sees this and wants to let me know when they get some of the best mussels in Brussels back in stock, that would be awesome. Thank you in advance. Still musselless, Callie.

This traditional place is clearly specializing in mussels, and mussels only. The other dishes - even when typical Belgian ones - are so-la-la. Derogations from what’s on the menu are not welcome. Bottled beer only. Make sure you dress warm as the place is quite chilly. Wall decoration might irritate woke clients.

Lovely staff but service a bit slow - we waited about 15 minutes before placing order ( it was not very busy in the restaurant. Overall the place is very nice and the food is good too

The mussel was nice and reminded me of the wholesome flavor back in my hometown. The beef dish however was only average (for me haha). The service was fine but I was surprised when the waitress didn't want 3 of us to share the big portion of mussels. She said its only for 2 maximum. I guess I was not fully understanding the etiquette here. Just to clarify, we were students on a budget trip and we just wanted to try as much thing as possible. It was a bit awkward for us at that point so I just went ahead and ordered another dish. But overall good mussels, nice atmosphere, normal service.

THIS IS A MUST! If you're ever in Brussels!! Not only they have the longest selection of mussels with different flavors, but also have veganized versions of staple Belgian dishes. You'd better make a reservation I'm advance as they get really crowded over the weekend, but it's definitely worth it. Whenever we have friends over, we take them HERE.

They have 69 different recipes for their mussels and fries. They Even give you the possibility to create your own recipe. The menu is Very simple and they do have other dishes than mussels and fries, however this place is known for it. We had a lovely evening here and Even though they closed at 22, they didnt kick us out until we finished our meal. the mussels were really well cleanser and did not smell fishy at all. I had the tomato-version nr.62 and the soup was lovely!

Came for dinner, and had mussels and steak. Both dishes were excellent, the steak was one of the best I've had in a while and it's not even a steak house Of course the chips/frit were amazing, the crispiest I've ever had and seemed to stay fresh forever. Service was very quick and friendly, with reasonable prices

It was my first moules et frites meal and I love it. It was amazing. I ordered the classic even tho they had plenty of different choices. The place is so artistic and aesthetic. The staff is friendly and professional.

Very nice place, with a traditional decoration and the best “moules” I’ve had! Welcoming staff. Can’t pay with Bancontact/debit card, only with credit cards.

It has to be the largest menu of mussels in the world: 69 recipes! I tried no. 34 “Moules à l’italienne” and recommend it. I was disappointed they didn’t have both of the two entrees that I liked (vegetable soup and stoemp).

This is definitely THE restaurant where you have to go if you want to eat what Belgium has to offer and especially Brussels. The menu is hidden in a comic book, what a brilliant idea. The service is impeccable! Had a great evening there :)

The best mussels restaurant I have experienced in my 10 years living in the Netherlands with frequent travel to Belgium. How do they do that? 69 different flavors……….wow wow wow……we loved it. Definitely coming back again to try the other slow cooked cuisine on the menu. Thank you google for the introduction.

I used to think this restaurant serves the best mussels in Brussels. However, a revisit yesterday changed my view: starter soup and mussels were way too salty, size of mussels were a bit disappoint, three mussels were even stink (dead for a while). Hence, change the review to 3 stars.

Really good Belgium "Brasserie". Not cheap but money well spent. Great atmosphere in there!

Very good moules, more than 90 varieties. We tried 4 different types and weren't disappointed. Staff is also friendly though this is a busy place on weekends. Good deserts too! Big portions.

Absolutely fabulous food. I wanted to move to Brussels for at least a year after going here the first time, and it doesn't really work for us otherwise at all. Really good steak. If you like steak 'well done' this may not be the place for you.

We live in the area and we go for eating good mussels and bring the visits as we think is a cool place with a nice tradition "Bruxellois". However the service today has been VERY BAD and what is worse, RUDE. We had to call them several times as they were not paying attention to our table and we couldn't have dessert as the kitchen was closed which the bold guy told us in a very bad manner. At the end we just told him that it would be nicer a reminder on when the kitchen is going to close so maybe we can order (and spend more money even!). He answered very rude saying that it was written everywhere. Ok sir, so 1 second of your time to remind the people is not worth it. Thanks, that's says a lot. Also they don't respect Covid measures, place is cramped and although the use this plastic things that already is proved that do nothing, the rude bold guy always has his mask down. It's a pity, the place it's an institution but the bard service totally makes you forget the good food.

"Dim the lights and play jazz music", I said to my friends as we dined at this excellent location. The moules frites were incredible, of which they have a selection of 69, the vegan options were also several, and we had an excellent Belgian apple gin. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. This was a fantastic evening with two lovely chappies in a great restaurant.

👍👍 Delicious Turkish food for a good price. They gift you with a salad bread and sauces from the house and everything we tried was really good. The kunefel is great and so was the grilled mix of meat! The service is attentive and the atmosphere is calm and nice. We’ll come back for sure.
