AVOID IT!!! Awful experience. They forgot our order and tried to scam us! In detail: It is heavily overpriced (1l of water 12 euros), but the food was more or less okay. The problems really started when one of the girls in our group did not receive her order, only way after everyone finished. And even then, it came without fries whereas the waiter told us it is included. They brought it out 5 minutes before closing time (we were there for 1,5 hours at that point), and she was rushed. Then came the worst part. We had to fight them because they included several items we did not order, making our bill €43 more on a €115 order. The staff was pushy, impolite, and definitely not apologetic. Worst restaurant experience ever.

Due to lack of planning, ended up here for NYE dinner. Worse decision ever. McDonald’s would have been ten times better than eating here. Service was the worse. The food arrived at different times which meant some people ate first while others waited longer (and by longer I mean others had already finished their two courses). Food quality horrible. The lasagna was hard and not cooked thoroughly. Tasted like plastic or probably was plastic. I asked for medium cooked beef and got served well done. The wait staff ignored me when I tried to raise the issue. When I finally got out of my seat to grab a waiter to the table they looked at me like what’s the problem. The photo below shows what how they solved the problem… disgusting. That costs 31 euros by the way. And yes I basically threw away 31 euros for that steak cause it tasted disgusting and it was probably safer to waste the money than put that in my body. Lastly, that salad served with the croquettes… sad. Do yourself a favour , don’t eat here. There are plenty of other more decent restaurants in the area.

Falstaff is a classic. From the stain glass windows to the heavy laden walls. There’s no place better to enjoy drinks and something to eat. Sit at the window and enjoy the view, one of my all time favorite bars. Even the ceilings are incredible…

Nice decoration and atmosphere however when we (7ppl) ordered, the staff didn’t even note anything down. After 1hrs waiting our food arrived and not surprisingly wrong. 1 person had to wait for another 30mins. Even with all that, they never apologized, they said “oh I didn’t take that order”. Then when the last course finally came, the waitress who took the order said “c’est bon, voilà” and put the food down angrily. They charged €20 for a appetizer with 2 pieces of courgette and frozen fries. Tiny potion for the price.

Absolutely horrible experience. Beautiful interior lets them think quality and customer service does not matter. We sat next to trash right in front of the entrance, the toilet is disgusting and is paid for guests!!! We got soaked snacks and wet tea/napkin. Had tea in such a dirty glass I called the waiter to show him. He explained it’s calque from hot water and that it’s not their fault. I said it’s not acceptable and I shouldn’t pay for it but he refused and offered to make me new tea (in another dirty glass I assume). Stay away!!

It is nice inside but to be avoided for food. I am from Brussels and my wife and I took two American visitors out for dinner. I had heard Falstaff had a new management after going bankrupt so wanted to tried it out. None of the dishes we ordered were good. The sausage was reheated from the day before, the meatballs tasteless, the mussels not good and the vol-au-vent not any better. It is sad that not even one dish was worth it. And we paid 157 euro for 4 adults and 2 kids. What a waste...

Good food, nothing out of the ordinary. It’s so bad to see that a place with so much history and meaning could score so low service regarding. Not coming here again 🤷‍♀️

Great décor and huge potential for atmosphere but the food is not good. We waited an hour for food to arrive but it was not what we ordered and the food was of poor quality. A great shame.

The restaurant serves traditional belgian food. The design is beautiful, the food is average, the prices are a bit higher then normal for the type of food that you get. The service is unfortunately not good: very slow, with people leaving angry due to long waiting times, too few waiters, different people on one table not being served at the same time, and the cutlery and style in which in the plates are served is really disappointing.

The staff is dirty and rude. We paid 12€ for a bottle of water (which is ok for the area) but the service would not deserve any. We had to ask for water and cutlery 4 times before being served. The waiter was wiping his nose and leaving the cigarette on the tray before serving. Long waiting time, no possibility to split the bill and being insulted after we politely asked for the bill 4 times

Reunited with a lifelong friend after 36 years and we stopped for a beer and lunch. Also my first time in Brussels. I was there for the reconnection not so much the place. Being honest and transparent, I ordered a seafood salad but received a chicken salad. They exchanged it but the cheque still had the two salads. That too was corrected.

The Greater (an older man) made me feel discriminated, even that there were open tables on the center he put us on a hidden corner also we had to to him in English and he gave us menus in French, not an smile or attention of any kind whoever other customers got attention. I will not recommend it. Food is not bad. Our waiter was very hard working.

Beautifully restored art nouveau style. Definitely worth a visit. On Friday and Saturday evenings there's live music, making the place truly come alive.

Very good atmosphere. During the week end evening so can listen to live music (jazz or instrumental). Food is good enough and so is beer. You don't get enough attention from waiters. Price a little to high for what it offers. In the end, if you are looking for a place to chill after a day of exploring the city, you are going to like this place.

Beautiful place, but the place is understaffed. Service is bad, not welcoming and we had to wait 20-30min just to order three drinks (Fanta, cola, iced tea and their signature cocktail....). Best thing: the waiter then forgot our order and we had to wait an extra 15min to repeat the order. The cocktail was even wrong (carrot juice instead of orange juice). Very unprofessional, which is a pity for the amount of history that the place carries.

This would be a great candidate for Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares. Beautiful building but the food was dry, tasteless, and unbelievably slow despite us being almost the only table in the restaurant. If you’re looking for terrible food at an exorbitant price, this is the place.

Dirty and rube. The waiter was very rude and touched his nose coughing all the time. The prices are absurd. 12€ a litre of water. The owner and all the staff very rude. We were treated very badly. The food was nothing special.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Staff don't grasp the first thing about service. The first of my order arrived about 40 min after I sat down. Zero apologies or explanation. Impossible to get their attention - twice had to approach the counter. In short, a tired tourist trap.

I noticed this restaurant the second day we arrived in Brussels and were looking for places to eat. Busy outside with most if the tables full. On our last evening we decided to eat here. Unfortunately it was raining and a Sunday so not very busy. Despite this we sat outside under the awning. Great for people watching. There were a few more people outside too. I had the rabbit with prunes. It was worth waiting for. The staff are friendly and welcoming the food is good.

Terrible service. Had a beer that didn’t taste right. Was in trouble the next day. Food below average. The guys that sing are good but I’d suggest drinking next door where the price of beers are half this place and you won’t be Ill.

STAY AWAY: there are mice (!) running around this restaurant in September 2022! I read previous reviews and realised that there is not much to expect from this place, but I was in Brussels on Monday (many places are closed on Monday there) and had not much time to look for other restaurants due to my busy schedule. Food was mediocre, staff was not very friendly, but the tipping point was when I saw a mouse running from one corner to another while I was eating. I talked to one of the staff members to express my concerns, but he couldn't care less. My worst experience! Please stay away!

I only had a drink which is perfectly possible. It is nice to sit there for a beer or a hot chocolate and enjoy the art nouveau atmosphere. It is an old style typical Belgian spot. Worth a visit.

This stunningly beautiful establishment is a recommended visit, and so we tried on "boxing day", 2nd day of Xmas, so the traffic of tourists was constant. I am sure the management are aware of the service problem they have, but I wonder how they are taking it. In any case, I can't say anything about the food or drinks they serve, because we didn't get served.

How can I recommend – they can not even complete our order (bottle of water forgotten), The way of serving wine was not the way it has to be. Food quality was horrible. At the end they tried to scam us by charging differently. I remember I went to this restaurant in the past and it was much better. Wonder what has happened, but I know I will never go back.

I heard one of the best live music concert of my life! Dancing, singing, pure amazing afrojazz in the center of Bruxelles! The place inside is wonderful but the band is just perfect! Jazz, funky, raggae! Many kond of music! All amazing!

TERRIBLE SERVICE - I am not one to write negative reviews but my experience here was so bad I have to take the time to write this. I strongly advise against visiting this place - despite the beauty of the interior, the place is not worth a visit. We waited 40 minutes before even being asked for our drinks orders (despite trying to flag down a waiter regularly always being told ‘give me 2 minutes’). When we eventually ordered, we waited another 20 minutes to get them (we only waited as we had friends visiting otherwise we’d have left - in fact while waiting 2 other tables upped and left) and then they got the drinks order wrong (2 coffees and a beer - not so difficult!). The beer had been waiting on the counter for 10 minutes and my coffee had white bits floating in it so I asked to get a new one - surprisingly the new one never arrived so I never even had a drink. Terrible and won’t be back - what a big shame for such an iconic cafe in Brussels.

The place is going down the hill. It still is a beautiful art déco interior, but badly maintained and pretty bad service. The food list a lot of quality too. Just go there for a drink and to appreciate the interior.

Beautiful Art Deco bar restaurant that lacks the atmosphere and class the surroundings imply. Picture windows and period wood work don't compensate for average soup, factory bread and micro coffee.

We were looking to have something to eat at night. There were not many choices. This place looked nice with a band playing. When we entered the server was kind of rude. The other waiter was ok. The food is ok but don't expect anything outstanding.

Right by the Bourse. I have never eaten here but the Irish coffee is delicious. And strong too! UPDATE: I ate there once and the food was very good.

The staff is under qualified, the food doesn't look neither tasted fresh, it is a pity for such a place. Too bad that there's still people making money out of this historical and sumptuous place instead of giving it a proper management and a good services in a wonderful place. Just order a drink to enjoy the inside and go, nothing's tasty here.
