We had our dinner here and really enjoyed this place. The place has a good and relaxed atmosphere. We were really happy that he had reversed a table, because the place was completely filled. The food was not something crazy, but was “ordinary good food” with a lot of flavour. The food was fairly priced, in our opinion. The thing we will remember this place for is the service of the staff which was phenomenal and extremely friendly. It made us feel very much at home and relaxed.

EPIC experience. You cannot go wrong here. We had the amazing rabbit stew, mussels in garlic, cream and wine sauce, and a Caesar salad. Best Caesar salad we’ve had anywhere. You can easily share the Caesar salad as a starter between 3-4 people. The mussels say one person portion, but it was huge also. We saw the ham bone special at another table and it was amazing as well. Stellar service by all, friendly, welcoming and chill. Nikolaus was our server and was absolutely first rate. Food arrived quickly, but they never rushed you. We really appreciated that there was enough staff to provide good service. Throughout the evening no less than three people checked on us. In this economy some restaurants seem to be economizing by reducing staff and as a customer you feel like you’re searching for help. Never the situation tonight at Le Bistro. Literally cannot say enough positive about our experience. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing location and vibe at the foot of the Porte de Hal castle, food was good but not amazing. Ample outdoor seating, but the indoor vibe was nice too. Moules were pretty good, fries not so much. My father got the chicken with green pepper sauce, which I enjoyed a bite of, but still not fantastic. Chocolate mousse for dessert was great! Grimbergen beer was kinda flat despite the beautiful bar where it was poured. Come here for the view, not the food. It was still worth the metro trip away from the hotel and most restaurants.

SO TASTEY! Made a special trip from the North side of the city to come here for the mussels in garlic and cream sauce and it was well worth it! My mom enjoyed the shrimp pasta and said it was her favorite meal of the trip. Great service by all of the gentleman on the patio. 5 star experience!

Authentic Belgian Restaurant.. I would recommend to have their Mussels , famous Belgian speciality which are available in four different options. Chef took an effort to give a spicy touch to my Salmon and Chicken skewer, knowing Indian love for spicy food which I personally appreciate. A mild music made an atmosphere for perfect dinner. And finally a complementary mint tea just added a refreshing end to the evening.

Flemish stew very tasty if you don’t mind meals with a beer taste. Meatballs could be a little bit more spicy but still very good. Don’t recommend homemade ice tea, but I guess you go there to drink beer, not a tea.

Lovely bistro opposite the historic Porte de Hal. It had been raining when we arrived and so our excellent waiter George found us seats by a radiator to dry out. Food was delicious, and the service was very attentive.

Went there for a relaxing Friday night dinner. The staff were friendly, with lots of banter and definitely added to the lively atmosphere of the place. Between two of us, we ordered the rib eye and mussels. Each meal came with a generous portion of frites which were amazing! The steak was good, not the greatest, but decent. Beverages tend to be on the pricey side but again were generous in volume so probably value for money with a gin and soda costing about €8.

The place itself is very trendy in an antique style. The menu is not too big, however the food was not very fresh as expected. The atmosphere and the vibe is great though!

Service was friendly and very attentive. Be sure to come early as the patio fills up quickly for dinner. There's also plenty of seating inside as they have two floors. If you manage to snag a seat on their patio you'll be treated to a nice view of the fortified city gate which is now a historical museum across the street.
