I recently visited this underground pub that was absolutely fantastic. The first thing that struck me was the great variety of beers available. There were so many different options to choose from, I could have spent hours trying them all! Additionally, the heavy metal music playing in the background added to the unique atmosphere of the place. The pub itself was like a time capsule, with vintage posters and decor that made it feel like I had stepped back in time. However, what really made the experience special was the friendly and welcoming service from the man behind the bar. He was super friendly to us and our son, which made us feel right at home. Overall, I had a fantastic time at this underground pub and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great beer selection, unique atmosphere, and friendly service. Whether you're a fan of heavy metal or just looking for a cool spot to hang out, this place is definitely worth a visit

Vivid place dor a night out. A good variety of beers and a really unique atmosphere. If you are lucky you may witness a good light and music show as I did. Open space to dance available.

Dingy basement bar with a great draft list, excellent bottle list and wonderful music playlist, if you're into rock, punk and metal. Picnic tables to sit on, trashy bathrooms, if you like this kind of place, you'll love it here and we visited often. Just a few blocks away from the grand place. They serve both fresh and aged Orval, but in Chimay glasses.

Excellent hole in the wall type of bar, and especially if you like beer and whiskey. Although their whiskey selection isn’t as vast as they claim (they were “out” of a lot of bottles), they still offered several to choose from. Recognize the bar is in a basement which still has a damp basement smell to it, but quite cozy. But it can get really loud as sound gets trapped there so can get very loud very fast. Nevertheless the staff was great and my Arran scotch was great.

Friendly staff with good food, found the lentils a little oily but the dish was flavoursome. The waiter suggested some wine and that was excellent. Can certainly recommend

A dark cellar with a smell of being a cellar (which I really liked) I'm starting to think that this is a place for people who's into heavy/black metal music. All in all, it's a good place for a beer or five😊

DON’T RECOMMEND! Edited: I initially thought that the staff was friendly, gave me options of beer to try but unfortunately didn’t like any. Reading their passive aggressive response below I actually recommend NOT to go there. Beers were very obscure. Didn’t know what a hefeweizen or weiß beer is, which is unexpected for a brassiere. I would still explain from a bartender in a pub to at least know these types of beers.

Very cool cellar bar with an extensive beer list. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in historical bar locations. It was an easy walk from the central area around Grand-Place.

Great cellar bar. Lots of options to choose from. If you are looking for the non-tourist option, this is it. Grab a seat, feel like a local and drink good beer. Plus a smoking section if that’s your jam.

Perfect place for a drink with friends. Good music, good large choice of beers. It has a smoking room that for once is comfortable and not stinky. The looks of the place is great. Can be packed on weekends I like it during the week 🍻

Awesome spot. Sweet interior as it’s all underground brick and feels like a cellar. Big beer selection and awesome metal playing the whole time. Favorite bar so far in the city.

Crowded but worth it -- if you get a seat, especially. People are friendly, beer selection is awesome and local, and they have live music! Space is really interesting -- barrel vaulted ceiling made out of brick seems like it's an old cellar or catacombs converted into an underground beer bar. Nice separation of rooms means there's an intimate feeling even in a crowded space.

Great beer selection! The bartender was friendly and fun to talk to. Beautiful spot for this type of establishment. All of the pirate and Irish music was the icing on the cake.

Nice vaulted basement bar, good beers, some concerts, a little loud sometimes, good atmosphere, a specific basement bat smell. We like or not I guess. A place to try and try again. I tried again and again!

Great bar which happens to be underground with more places that what you would expect. Cheap price and cheap shots are a great combination too. Perfect to chill and start the evening

The perfect spot to have a chill evening/night to chat with friends or to start the night. The music is great but not too loud. The staff is great and they have a wide selection of beers and alcohol. The cheese plate is also good to have.

My favorite place to enjoy a beer in Brussels. I like the old/medieval theme. The beer is good. The waiters are also nice.

Brilliant spot we just happened across, ended up going 2 of our 3 nights, staff were not only friendly but supportive in both their knowledge of beer and patience of my lack of french vocab relating to beer. My fiancée and I tried the entire list of draughts in one night whilst watching an acoustic performance that was being hosted at the bar. Special shout out to the league of legends playing staff member with the slight Glaswegian English accent 😊

Hidden bar with a medieval theme in the basement. High quality cheap beer at the counter and friendly staff. We had some great time there.

Great place and atmosphere. Good beers and friendly staff. One point. Glasses are typically not tapped with foam to the edge of the glass. In my view foam should always be to edge of the glass and max 2 fingers.

Very nice atmosphere, nice staff. The only thing i would add is a bit of nice music, because it is one of the main reasons you go in these bars.

A good place for Belgian beers they offer a nice variety. The cellar bar has a very special and authentic look. Friendly service as well. We had a great time.

Take the stairs down one level an you're in a rustic valved cellar setting. Some of that old moldy musty cellar smell you can get used to. Tap selection is limited but as I understand it varies. Bottle selection widens that. A €5 limit on credit card limits the tap selection even more for a single visitor. I felt every much the turist I am. Not busy early on a Wednesday evening.

Barman is a Real connoisseur of Belgium beers and his stock. Smoking area where you can enjoy a cigarette or a cigar with your beer or scotch. I only miss a more ample selection of rums

Probably the best beer and rock bar in Brussels. The staff is very experienced and can describe the beers and whiskys very well. Taps change often so you are always in for great surprises.

Absolutely amazing pub located in a basement not unlike a hobbit hole with a general Lord of the Rings theme.

Great beers and ambiance! This was one of the highlights of our visit to Brussels. We tried almost all of the beers they had on tap and loved them all. The bartenders are very friendly and helpful.

Thursday 29 December 2023 00:17 The worst barman I have ever experienced I have come before in this place and it's quite nice but today the barman is not at the bar the most of the time he is chilling with his girl friend and he just told me I cannot order because he had to take a break and I'm waiting for him for half an hour

👍👍 Amazing food, one of the best Eggs Benedict I ever had. This location is really crowded due to being in a city centre, but the service is fast and we got out food in less than 15 minutes. 2 things to be aware of: - their signature sauce is really spicy - fries are coated with rosemary (it can be ove...

👍👍 Easily the best waffles I've had so far. There are 2 options, Liege or Brussels. I suggest you try both. The Brussels waffle has a crunchy crust and a nice soft and airy interior. The Liege waffle has a softer still crunchy crust and a denser interior. Highly suggest eating here!
