Overall not a bad hotel, but we were disappointed by a few things that shouldn’t be the case with a reputable 4-star hotel… firstly, the photos of the rooms on google were far nicer than our room, which had a very small window. Second, the shower water temperature varied too much between too hot and cool, with no warning. Also, the ‘gap’ in the mattress of the queen-size bed was sizable, and the towels weren’t great. If you can find a deal, then it’s worth the stay, but otherwise more of a 3-star hotel at 4-star price/rating

The Dominican is a wonderful city hotel, located very close to the historic centre of Brussels. The employees are really polite and accommodating, always eager to help and always with a smile. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. A bit dark too, but i think it's mostly due to the dull weather. The breakfast is wonderful. A lot to choose from and of a high quality. I ordered room service once, quite nice, fresh and tasty food. Prices are generally very high, especially compared to other capitals around the region. Of course that happens all around Brussels, it's just a very expensive place. Most of all I appreciated how nice the people working there are to guests. Thank you to everyone for your professionalism. The only thing I could say I didn't like, is the very creepy chanting recordings they use in the elevators! What's up with that, guys?

The claim of this hotel is that they are a "five star" hotel. This is clearly not the case. The hotel rooms are decent and pretty clean. However, it should be much nicer with such a hefty price tag. The bathroom shower doors were not long enough and leaked a ton of water all over the floors. The biggest issue was with the service. If you're thirsty and want a few waters after a long trip, too bad. The reception will not give you more than 2 cups of water. You must walk over half a mile to the nearest grocery store to pick up jugs and haul them back. Overall, it was a mediocre hotel experience, however the poor service and hefty price tags makes this an undesirable location for a vacation in Brussels. There are many other hotels in the area that may offer a better experience. Good luck!

A pretty and refined hotel in the heart of Brussels. Clean, new, modern. Beautiful courtyard that is very quiet and makes for a fantastic spot in which to enjoy beverages . Delicious food and wonderful drinks. Staff is very friendly. I would recommend if you are staying in Brussels and need to be close to the city center but want to feel like you are far away.

Love the hotel! The service is impeccable, they helped me check in early (I could have waited for a deluxe room with a better view as Marriott gold member, but rather check in at 11AM instead of waiting until 3). The room itself is clean and the bed is so comfortable. They also asked me if I wanted a tub which was a big soaking tub, something I. Love on vacation. Decor is nice in the hotel and it comes with a gym, sauna and steam room!

Wonderful hotel with an excellent staff! Everyone here is friendly and devoted to making sure you have the best experience. The location, just a few blocks away from the Grand Place, & also just a short walk to the metro station, could not be better for exploring the city. The staff will kindly give you ideas and directions. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now & wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Brussels.

Poorly maintained rooms with lots of visible wear and tear. Beautiful building and design elements in a very central location. I didn't feel especially valued as an ambassador in the Marriott loyalty program, although they did meet basic needs.

The hotel is amazing with a different atmosphere than most of other hotels. The vibes in the hotel takes you back in time. The location of the hotel is great and is a walking distance from the city center. Rooms were clean.

We stay here every so often while in Brussels on business. Nice hotel. Centrally located. Good restaurant. Good bar. Well appointed rooms. Friendly service. Typical rates for the area. Traffic around this area is notoriously bad, so allow more time for your commute. Recommend 👍🏻

Highlights: good cocktail selection at the hotel bar, great location (very central) Downfalls: on service (very slow at the bar, frantic at the front desk, no real concierge service to help you navigate the city). On facilities: rooms are not as clean, very noisy (you can hear everything at night and it’s hard to sleep, they do offer earplugs in the room as you check in which was a sign that noise is an issue). Would recommend?: probably not.

Modern hotel with clean rooms. Service was great. Buffet breakfast was absolutely worth it. The location of this hotel is an 11/10...it is on a quiet location but right next to the old town in Brussels. Great restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions (e.g., Grand Palace) are all within a 5min walk. It is a 25min uber from the train station...do NOT attempt to walk there from the train station.

Kindest check in staff, lovely experience leaving the reception every day and being greeted by their happy smiling faces. You can see that they enjoy working at the hotel and are happy in the work they do! Bravo. The two gentlemen(Charlie and another elder gentleman who worked with him that day)serving us at breakfast will make you think this hotel is nothing less than a five star. So kind, helpful, involved and positive. Some suggestions for the housekeeping: ONE PLY TOILET ROLL is a BIG no no in a 4 star… cmon. Its like sandpaper. Even 3 stars have 2-ply… these little expenses leave a big impression so maybe the amenity budget can be raised (@management) maybe softer bath robes, because robes are washed so many times its good idea to switch them in for new ones to make sure guests expectations are met and they don’t rub their skin on hard towels/robes. 2- I would have preferred some more amenities perhaps, and also my minibar replenished during my stay please. Very little details that are easy to improve on, if management takes feedback seriously. But overall I’d come back for sure!

Conveniently located near a train terminal and the Grand Palace, this quaint and sheek hotel is lovely. The staff both for the hotel and its restaurant were incredibly helpful. If I ever make it to Brussels again this will be my spot. The room was nice and clean and the decor nice.

On a quieter street of Brussels, the Dominican allows for a pleasant stay in the European capital. Well setup rooms, clean, comfortable, with shower providing more than enough hot water. The hotel has its own special scent in the corridors and even its elevators' monk chants remind you that you are staying in a special place.

This was the most disappointing experience at a “4-star” hotel that I have ever had. If this was properly labeled as the 2-star hotel that it really is, I probably wouldn’t have had any expectations. First, the air-conditioning in the hotel is government regulated and my husband and I were sweltering hot throughout the night. Keep in mind, I am also pregnant and the staff recommendation was to open the window. This only made it worse due to all of the hoodlums making noise through all hours of the night. The outside noise didn’t really matter though since the walls of the hotel were so thin, we could hear everything in the walls and through the vents. At breakfast, there was a buffet, but also a menu available where we could order an omelette. When my husband and I asked for a list of the ingredients to choose from for the omelette, the server acted completely confused. We sat there for 20 minutes playing a guessing game, and going back and forth asking one-by-one which ingredients were available. How does a 4-star dining restaurant not have a simple list of ingredients available for the omelette? Lastly, the shower has a horrible malfunction that will cause it to abruptly get scolding hot without notice. It burned my husbands skin. Because of the steam from the hot shower, our fire alarm started going off and the front desk called us and told us we needed to open the window. A properly functioning fire alarm would not be set off due to shower steam. How are we to feel confident and safe knowing that the alarm can’t tell the difference between smoke and steam? Secondly, it was freezing in the morning and I was appalled that the staff was mandating me to open a window as their only solution. If you are looking for a true 4-star quality experience, this hotel is not it. Beware. The staff will also try to gaslight you by acting confused and playing the victim when you voice your concerns. Hoping this feedback will save someone the misery.

Good service, elegant and calm, not crowded. great location. Breakfast is great. The rooms are sImple, clean, Not big. Only real *downside* is that our room was pretty dark, as it faced another building. I would ask for a room with more light. In general the light in the room are very dimmed...

Lovely hotel in an absolutely perfect location in Brussels. Would highly recommend staying here. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Brussels. Also, if you go to the bar in the lobby, try the basil smash drink… it’s delicious! Look for the waiter who looks like Greg from Succession! 😁

I can just speak for the bar and restaurant as I've never stayed at the hotel, but bith the food and drinks are top notch. Great cocktails at affordable prices, a relaxed vibe and a pleasant, quiet courtyard away from the crowds. Would recommend!

I stayed here 3 times and it’s been on a downhill slope. The beds are too soft, you sink into the mattress. The room was very hot in January, I had to open the window and listen to the noise of trash collection in the middle of the night. The shower water temperature was inconsistent, either extremely hot or cold. The WiFi was good and the location excellent. I like coming to Brussels but will stay in a different hotel next time.

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. The hotel was stylish and beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great variety of foods. (book breakfast the day before for an € 5 discount). Every staff member we interacted with was warm and helpful. Great location, great hotel !!!

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at The Dominican. Location was perfect, rooms were spacious, and service was impeccable. We would like to recognize one person in particular for making our stay a memorable and enjoyable one. Abdel at the Concierge went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and looked after. We enjoyed talking to him and getting his recommendations for Brussels highlights. He was very sincere, personable, and friendly. Highly recommend the hotel for future travellers!

We love everything! The hotel is beautiful, all the decoration and comfort upon arrival. The room is dreamy, the bed is super comfortable, clean and the bathroom is equipped with everything we need. Including slippers and bathrobe available for use during your stay. Breakfast has a huge variety and pleases all tastes.

Great location on the edge of the pedestrian zone. 5 min walk to Grand Place and all the surrounding walking streets full of restaurants and bars. Friendly service and nice bar in the hotel too. Rooms are small but very comfortable and well equipped. Only small complaint is no bottled water in the room. Not a big deal though.

Far exceeded expectations. Very clean upscale building in a great location. Bed is very comfortable and AC works way better than average European rooms. Room service was a bit tricky to order and that’s the only reason I did not give 5 stars. Would absolutely recommend.

I usually love this place before, server is so kind and friendly unfortunately after pandemic, everything is change, before it was very calm and chic, but now????? Mismanagement, bar began to be very messy and lots of stuff, even empty glass are there. It's like public place, People are using even there laptops.

The staff was very nice at check in The elevator music is creepy. Felt like it was the call to prayer every time we got in The hallway and room were dingy.and has a dirty feet smell. The carpet needs to be changed in my opinion. Feels like it needs a renovation I took a shower and just didn’t feel clean after. The robe and towels are scratchy and do not have a pleasant scent. Same for the bed sheets. They were comfortable but did not smell fresh. Location is great but not a 4 star hotel. Maybe 3.

Stayed at the Dominican for one night in Brussels. Location amazing, hotel cute and theme fits well. I stayed on Marriott points and the room was what I expected. The downside is I turned on AC to cool the room as it was fairly warm and it blasted hot air all night no matter what I did so it was hard to sleep. Luckily I was able to open the window to cool it and I assume it could be fixed if I stayed another night, but the front desk when I mentioned it did kind of say “It is what it is”. Wouldn’t be the biggest deal, but the room while made, hadn’t been cleaned well. Found a dirty coffee cup, didn’t refill n’espresso pods, only one wine glass, someone’s empty hair gel container beneath the bed, an opened water bottle in the fridge, which makes me think there were supposed to be complimentary water bottles that weren’t offered. If I assumed I had a one off experience I would suggest the Dominican, but by what happened I think it would have to be a perfect storm to have these things go wrong.

Location of this hotel is ideal you have some great restaurants, the famous delirium bar and shopping area in less than a 5 minute walk. The showers need a little updating as the grout looked old and dirty and the water didn't drain fast enough. The beds, sheets and pillows were very comfortable. They have blackout curtains which work great. The towels can also be updated. When the room was booked online, it said we would get free bottled water in our room, but we didn't have it and were not offered it upon check in. There's also a sign in the room that says if you don't have house cleaning come into your room you get a token the next day for a free drink from the bar, however everyday you must ask the front desk for it or else they won't give it to you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Dominican in Brussels, and I must say it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel exudes elegance and charm, making it a truly classy choice for accommodation. One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful breakfast they offered. The wide variety of options ensured there was something for everyone, and the quality of the food was top-notch. The terrace at The Dominican is a hidden gem. It provided a wonderful ambiance for enjoying a relaxing drink and snack, creating the perfect setting for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. Additionally, the hotel's location is a major plus. Being within close proximity to the central train station made it convenient for me to navigate the city with ease, with just a 7-8 minutes walk. All in all, I highly recommend The Dominican to anyone visiting Brussels. It truly exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return for another memorable stay.

The hotel was great and so was staff, they are friendly. They help you out when needed. The location is perfect to explore the area as there is food places few minutes walk away and shops. They have night entertainment across the road on that street. So it was very convenient for us to stay and move around on feet. Also the parking is 3 mins away if your driving. If you go to belgium do try they waffle not to miss out on....

In the past year, I have stayed at The Dominican and in the Airbnb around the corner. This review will solely be for the hotel. We stayed in the hotel for a large group party with varying age groups, and the staff was absolutely wonderfully accommodating and patient as we processed us through. The rooms are large, clean, well appointed as are the communal spaces. After a lovely dinner out, we came back to the bar for drinks where they were quick to help us. The drinks were great and at an affordable price point. Couple that with an amazingly central location, The Dominican is the place to stay when in Brussels.

We spent our wedding weekend at the Dominican and were fulfilled to our paroxysm 🥂 beautiful hotel in a former convent, organised and amazing lunch after our wedding in their patio, topped with amazing service from the whole team. Would strongly recommend for couples wishing to spend a romantic time in the heart of Brussels 💕🌺🥂

Location, location, location That is what the Dominican has going for it. Its walking distance from the Brussels central station and Grote market, with 200m of fancy chocolate shops, restaurants and malls and subway station. The service is exemplary to the extent that one of the frontend person let us borrow their own umbrella because it was raining outside. Never expected that. The rooms are small (expected) but the Gym in the hotel is what lets it down. Its by far the worst gym I have ever seen in a hotel. I sincerely suggest that they close the Gym down and make a lounge or something in the space, which will be a much better use of the space.

This is a super hotel with history on that site from 1460, it was home to the largest monastic order in Brussels at one point. Your hear Gregorian chant that monks do as you travel in the elevators or visit the toilets. It is a design hotel with locally sourced ingredients the food is the best.

Nice hotel in what used to be a Dominican monastery in the heart of Brussels. Standard rooms are a little on the small side but the suites are great, as is the scent of perfume - a standard with the Design Hotels collection - and Gregorian music in the halls.

Couldn’t have been better. The whole team were fantastic from confirming a twin room to early check-in and late-checkout; friendly, timely and slick. Excellent, Marriott-affilaited Carleton collection hotel in a historic building minutes from the downtown Brussels tourist sites and the central train station. Rooms were updated and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, letting up check-in early and check-out late so our jet-lag was no problem. We would definitely recommend the Dominican to others and stay again if we were in the area. The inclusion of David painting was appropriate and tasteful.

As a die hard Marriott Bonvoy member, I was very excited to stay at the Dominican on my stay in Brussels. My expectations were met and exceeded in every way! The hotel was both sleek and cozy. Such a wonderful atmosphere the moment you set foot into the hotel. The staff were all very welcoming and personable. The room was comfortable, spacious and relaxing. Especially wonderful was the fitness area and the spa, which you must book in advance. The hotel was in the perfect location and if you’re thinking about staying in Brussels, stay at the Dominican.

Awesome hotel with great staff in a great location. Very nice room and bathroom. Great breakfast and a really nice bar. Dinner was OK, not amazing and probably a bit too expensive, but the ambiance is fantastic. The only thing that could be improved is the room temperature. It really gets quite hot sometimes. All in all, definitely a 5/5 place for us.

It’s got tiny rooms but a quiet corner of Brussels. The location is great for shopping and access to the old city. I didn’t eat here or use any of the amenities. The lobby and other areas were nicely decorated and comfortable. Parking is relatively close. There is no place to drive up and unload and check in. Beds were fine.

The room was spacious and well maintained. Received all the perks as a Marriott Gold member and the entire front of house team (front desk, bar & restaurant) was very welcoming and professional. The food in the restaurant was good as well as the cocktails in the bar. The overall style and courtyard reminded me a little of the Hotel Costes in Paris. Would definitely visit this hotel again.
