Cold,
hard
and
loud.
They
seem
to
have
scorned
the
idea
of
soft
furnishings
entirely,
the
bed
and
curtains
are
literally
the
only
things
dampening
the
echoes.
You
can
hear
every
word
from
the
next
room,
every
chair
scrape
over
the
floor
or
dropped
item,
footfall
in
the
hallway,
traffic
from
the
road
outside.
You
get
the
idea.
Out
of
bed
and
onto
cold
tiled
floors.
Heating
was
off
&
although
we
turned
it
on
in
our
room
and
eventually
achieved
a
decent
level
there
was
nothing
to
be
done
about
the
need
for
jackets
and
scarves
in
the
breakfast
roomâŚ
speaking
of
which
be
prepared
to
roll
up
your
sleeves,
thereâs
pans
and
a
hob
in
the
dining
room
to
cook
for
yourselfâŚ
And
donât
ask
for
dairy
alternatives
unless
youâre
willing
to
pursue
it
a
lot,
they
donât
seem
bothered,
even
though
they
ask
if
you
have
any
special
requests
at
booking.
Stairwell
is
dark
and
motion
sensors
arenât
very
efficient
so
youâll
be
navigating
those
in
the
dark
sometimes,
along
with
the
doors
that
open
right
on
the
steps.
Tea
&
coffee
situation
in
the
room
isâŚ
a
coffee
maker
and
a
tray
of
teabags,
mostly
unwrapped,
unlabelled
and
uncovered.
Thereâs
not
actually
any
coffee
to
go
in
the
coffee
maker
mind,
although
when
I
ran
it
through
with
water
a
few
times
it
did
flush
out
the
remnants
of
having
had
coffee
in
it
at
some
point.
Youâll
still
be
paying
for
entry
to
the
spa,
although
with
a
discount
thankfully.
The
one
positive
to
the
whole
experience
really.
