An institution worth a visit. The Royal Planetarium in Brussels offers a variety of movies shown in the impressive dome structure. The movies were not the latest at the time of our visit, but still nice to watch in the special scene of the dome and very informative. It was available in several languages. There is also a movie explaining the current star view. The ground floor offers some exhibits, however without much structure or thorough explanation (it is not a museum). It is easy to reach, has a small parking and a small shop with fun science models and toys. Do not let the out of date look and feel stop you from visiting: especially children and grownups with an interest in space and astronomy will love it.

Fantastic small planetarium with lovely staff. Absolutely worth a visit! They provide headsets with translations in Dutch, French, and English, and will even tell you where the best place to sit is :) Screenings don't cost an arm and a leg, and the staff are very knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge. Like a cinema, they rotate what they show on a regular basis, so it's worth coming back. They have protection screenings even for smaller kids, although the kids animation is American and muddles up the message a bit by introducing Native American mythology.

You’d think being closed except to school groups during the posted hours would be worth mentioning on their website, but instead I ended up wasting time heading out there just to learn some movie 5 hours later was the only thing open to the public.

I would applaud this place for the original movies that definitely took a while to create, their movies are very informative and fun to watch for different age ranges and the headsets are available in 3 languages for the audio which is convenient. The thing is that I can feel the place being abandoned a bit, many display styff on the ground floor are not really maintained and I would definitely think there are many initiatives to refresh this place to attract more people. And for 7 or 8 euro it is definitely worth watching and if you get a ticket bundle with Mini-Europe next to it, you can get it cheaper than that.

Pink Floyd's “The Dark Side of the Moon Planetarium Experience” was overwhelming. An attestation of the perfect, necessary, but often forgotten harmony between science and music. Psychedelic to boot. Will definitely come again if another similar audiovisual experience takes place. Thank you all. -- Oppenheimer (2023) had all the hype, but The Dark Side of the Moon Planetarium Experience has the content.

To be honest the place could be run better. Apart from three interactive exhibits, nothing else was on. I was not offered a VR set tour and I was told that they really operate as a theater for screening short movies. They have set times for different films in a specious theater and audio is available in different languages through a headset. Of course this part of my visit was spectacular. However not much to do while waiting for the show to start. Lots of the space related photographs situated on the landing are removed. Two vending machines in the cafeteria and no lockers for bags or coats while watching. There is a little shop where one could purchase from a paper solid eclipse glasses, through space themed stamps, to diy solar system solar-battery-operated models. They also sell range of books and it is all in Dutch. The staff was helpful. There is an exhibition of specific purpose calculators and units converters. There is a wall designated to the Mark II zeiss planetarium projector but also only in Dutch so you will need a translator if you don't have any within your skills set . There are also two lens bearing spheres on display. It could be significantly improved.

I'm so impressed! It was my first visit to the planetarium, so there is nothing to compare to. I payed for a seanse (luckily I have a museum pass), and enjoyed the incredible movie! I'm an amateur, so not sure if it will be interesting for advanced ones, for me it was very informative and breath taking! The stuff was kind to me, they speak English. And the man in the cinema showed me the best spots to sit on. Loved it!

The film itself is well made, but apart from that there's not much to see here. The place feels a little desolate.

The whole family enjoyed this place with an impressive star movie projection. I also found nice gifts for kids. Thanks to Usama for his friendly welcome!

Good place to take kids on rainy weekends. The staff is friendly and the shows are ok but the quality of the image is not great - Do not expect and IMAX experience. The exhibition area would be good if half of the "interactive" elements were not broken. Price is reasonable (7 EUR per adult) so I guess you cannot expect too much.

Quite disappointing: most of the interactive exhibition stations were out of order or didn't work properly, the multimedia-elements consisted of static web pages with some rather poor pictures and there was really very little you can do at all... but watch the half hour movie which was okay but nothing that would make the trip worthwhile. Can't recommend it.

It is like a small cinema. A movie is played, but the the scene and animation is magnificent. I admire their work in explaining orbiting with a nice animation which is shown on the roof. One thing though. Since you have to look almost upward, I suggest to make the chairs more comfortable.

I was there for the candlelight concert. It is very nice to have it in the planetarium, but it would have been better if they left it dark instead of the visual show they did on the roof. The staff were very attentive and it was a pleasant event. It was also a very animal-loving area, we saw a little mouse in the hall during the concert :))

Guess I had different experience than most of people here. The staff was lovely, Almost everything worked. The exhibition is free you only pay if you want to see the film. Only big fault is that the exhibitions should also have English text (but that's it) The film (violent universe) was good and the narrator had good voice.

Very small exhibition - no English and the QR codes and interactive screens didn’t work. VR headsets had no sound and staff were not very helpful in general, both to us and other visitors with queries.

It was just a video projected into the planetarium dome. Then a very short sky showcased of a couple of constellations. For me doesn't worth the time. However before our turn, a school group aound 40 kids looked very satisfied :)
