Child friendly beach, clean and equipped with nice playground. You need to show your ID for security reasons. 1€ per kid, 5€ per adult. Parking at 5 min walking distance. Bar and snacks close nearby. Possibility to fish and rent sail boat as well.

Over an hour and still no parking. Pure chaos, foreigners misbehaving badly, no help from park. I have been coming here since childhood but never again. Shame on you Hofstade! Edit: so after more than hour looking for parking and waiting in line for 40min getting told you cannot come in...should have came sooner. Lol. Been there for 2 hours. They just don t like Belgians. Meanwhile they cry when their park is torn down. You seek it Hofstade. Bad management, no vision,... At the end paid 5 euro just for parking to get told I cannot comen in. You should have managed this differently. Shame on you! Belgians are not very welcome I'm afraid.

It only opens at 1pm?! and the queue is horrible as it gets so concentrated. Only one small entrance with 3 people looking at the tickets… The organisation is ridiculous. Shame because the place is nice inside but suffering to get in is not worth it

One of the worst beaches I’ve ever been. Dirty water, full of duck droppings. A 6 y.o. kid took out his willy and peed all over the place…whilst the toilet was jus 30 meters away. I doubt it that I’ll come back.

Long waiting line to get to the beach although tickets are bought online, the water is quite muddy, much too crowded during the summer. I only saw showers in one place, another waiting line there... Didn't liked it!

Plan you visiting time carefully during the heat wave. Que was HUGE!! Water was cooling, but still not very clean. Feels worth more spending the entrance fee for an extra petrol to get to the sea 🪼🪼

I recently had the delightful opportunity to spend a day at Hofstade Strand with family and friends, and our experience was absolutely five-star worthy! Situated just a short 30-minute drive from Brussels, this beach is part of the Sport Vlaanderen Hofstade complex, serving as an enchanting getaway that seems to be one of Belgium's well-kept secrets. Our visit to Hofstade Strand was marked by pristine conditions and well-thought-out amenities for visitors of all ages. The area was impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere right from the start. With children in our group, we were thrilled to find that the playground and sandy areas were well-equipped, providing a safe and engaging space for the little ones to explore and play to their heart's content. For those in our group who were keen on engaging in sports, the beach volleyball net was a fantastic addition. The thrill of engaging in an energizing game with the backdrop of the beach was nothing short of exhilarating. There is also a water ski area offering unique fun on the water for those looking to try something new. What made our day even more enjoyable was the availability of a bar and cafeteria. Having access to refreshments and food without having to leave the premises allowed us to wholly focus on enjoying our time. The green spaces dotted around Hofstade Strand offered perfect spots to lay back and soak in the serene beauty of the surroundings, making it ideal for both active and leisurely visitors. Parking was convenient, with ample space for cars, alleviating the usual stress that comes with finding parking spots at recreational spots. This thoughtful provision ensured that our day started and ended on a hassle-free note. Overall, Hofstade Strand struck the perfect balance between recreational and relaxation options, making it a top-notch destination for groups like ours, consisting of both children and adults. Its proximity to Brussels makes it a convenient choice for city dwellers looking for a quick escape to nature. In hot summer days you should buy your tickets online in advance, otherwise it is opened with no tickets outside summer. For anyone contemplating a visit, I wholeheartedly recommend Hofstade Strand for a day filled with fun, laughter, and relaxation. The well-maintained and diverse facilities cater to a range of preferences, guaranteeing a satisfying experience for all. Whether you’re planning a family outing or a day out with friends, Hofstade Strand promises a delightful time!

We love the beach feeling here! Due to pandemic reservations are mandatory which makes the place not too crowded. Fantastic playgrounds!

Long walk from parking. Sand has some black stuff in it full of vegetation, and it stinks. Sand is only at the edge, further away in the water the bottom is mud. Water is heavy with decomposed plants. Shower would be a must but there are only 4 on the beach. I would not want to get any of that muddy water in my mouth.

Great beach, and terrific (and gigantic) floating bounce house. More like a bounce village.
