Expensive and uncomfortable. The bill for 3 people was over €130 and the food was bad. Everyone at our table only ate 1/2 of their meal. Expect wet pizza and pasta swimming in cream sauce.

An exceptionnel restaurant, ideally placed with a sumptuous interior. Being in a place where food is as good as the customer relation, I would advice you to ask to waiters for specialties, fresh and well cooked, high quality, good portions and really correct prices (based on location/ quality/ services!) Being in an Italian restaurant with actual Italian food ! One of my favorite place in Brussel, just go !

We were excited to have dinner and happy to wait for a table - food was being prepared around us and there seemed to be a good vibe. We were seated with only a small wait. We ordered pizza and that’s when the staff became rude and dismissive. Our pizza arrived and it was soggy but edible. We would have liked fresh pepper but were never offered. Our wine was poured for us but when we poured our second glass we noticed the filthy wine carafe. The waiter apologised and removed the cost from our bill but then went on to charge us incorrectly and had to give us a refund. Do not arrive without a reservation- the owner seems to think that is an excuse for bad service. It also seems like he doesn’t enjoy the truth being told and would like to insult me more.

Rude, unprofessional and unacceptable. 100% touristic not caring for happy customers. We had booked a table, that they couldn’t find the booking. Then they put us at the worst table ever, with bad smells coming from inside and extreme heat due to the air condition ventilators that were taking the hot air from the inside. We complained both for not having booked our table and for the specific spot they asked us to sit. They were rude, they were making fun of us by saying that this is their best table and actually told this us that this is it; take it or leave it. All these by a tall maitre with black suit. I consider myself a traveler and I have been to far too many places and restaurants. This is the worst ever. Shame on them!

When you’re looking for authentic hospitality and fresh Italian cooking as it should be, this is the only place in Brussels that will always welcome you with the same quality standards. Here is no space for rushing and rough attitudes. Times might change, but the family behind ‘Al Piccolo Mondo’ keeps its values and principles high as ever, as the two Italian brothers took over the lead and management of their dad who once founded this beautiful place. Most importantly: these two brothers were involved in service and management of the restaurant on a very young age. They know their expertise by heart, as the high quality restaurant experience is their passion. You might walk in in 1 month, 1 year or in 10 years from today: the quality of the menu, service and the style of the interior will always be guaranteed, on the same level. As long as Brussels walks into history, ‘Al Piccolo Mondo’ will walk in the same story. One to be remembered.

The atmosphere of the place itself was nice. You need to make a reservation ahead of time or else you won’t be able to have dinner there. The service was okay, could have been better we don’t know if it is because the waiters are young or they just didn’t care or pay attention. One example would be we got a 2x/500 of wine and instead of leaving our pitcher at our table like other tables had they had taken it away so we wouldn’t know how much is left in it and all, they would forget to refill our wine as well and forgot that we even had it ordered and had it on the side. We wanted to ask for more but we weren’t sure how much was left. We got the check and saw at least a glass + was left in our pitcher which sucked because it was 18 euros each. The food itself tasted fresh but needed more seasoning to it.

Upon entering the place i expected a fine dining experience, was quickly seated and offered somethingg to drink. Ordered the buffalo caprese, the quality of the mozzarella was questionable, the ruccola not very fresh and everything was drenched in oil 19 euro for this mess. The Tonno pizza i ordered came quickly after, the pizza was not finished, the tuna looked like it came from the cheapest box on the market and everything was a gooey mess. As the pizza was to oily from low quality products and the pizza not being in the oven to long, and as everyone knows in a situation like that the taste of the tuna, cheese or bread will not come out this was another 19 euro. Total the bill came to 50 euro, the wine was 6 euro, but also the tapwater they had refilled a bottle with came to 6 euro. All in all i feel robbed and it was a horrible experience. Edit: As i entered the restaurant i noted to the staff that i was using an old shirt as i was only walking about the city looking for a place to eat, this was accepted. The water was served from an open container, either it was tapwater or from a large container, i was offered water to the wine, which in most places if its not in a sealed container would then be free. I cannot fathom how the person responding to reviews can have such a standing after serving such horrendous food.

It was a bad experience as soon as we walked in. The maitre d with serious attitude greeted us “Bonsoir, good evening…” and I replied “Hello, table for two.”, he shook his head and repeated the same greeting, is like teaching me like a 2yo kid making sure I greet him back in French before we are allowed inside. The restaurant has way too many waiters running around yet still giving out dishes to wrong tables, then the two managers started belittling them in front of everyone. The food itself is not exceptional for the price you pay. After paying, no thank you from managers or waiters whatsoever. I’m just glad I’m a tourist and only need to visit this restaurant once and never again.

If you are looking for spectacular food in Brussels you must visit Al Piccolo Mondo. Last night I had the Truffle Pasta and it was succulent . The creamy truffle sauce was cooked to perfection

It was such an inappropriate behavior of the staff and what it seemed to be the manager. We were with a toddler and asked for a table inside because it was windy however they said it was full inside ( though it really didn’t seem so) and they offered a table outside in the most windy corner they had. The manager came out speaking Italian though it was clear we were tourists and though we were in a French/ Dutch speaking city and his attitude was very rude. When we asked about a child seat he said they didn’t have and seemed even bothered by the question. It really seemed they didn’t want us to choose the place maybe because of our little son. At least that was the feeling. We would have appreciated more honesty.

Lots of staff that is not needed because the restaurant is not big, maybe better English but very efficient and friendly. The soups are delicious just overpriced ( 12€ each)

Popular restaurant in nice surroundings. The facility is nice like an old traditional Italian restaurant, however the waiters are not so polite and not friendly at all. They take your order and hush away, don’t expect any suggestions from them, they are not that kind of guys. Be prepared to book your table however I do not know why this place is not the best not even close to it. The food is fine not good not bad. If you visit Italy regularly and you would like to find that atmosphere in here try to go somewhere else. The average prices are between 17-24 EUR.

Altogether speaking we were not completely satisfied. The waiters were friendly and the place is somewhat cozy - but the high prices are just not justified for the quality of the food that is offered. Besides - we had the impression that the service was rather rushed - probably to be able to serve even more customers. There are much nicer places to have dinner in Brussels.

I like the old italian style. And the pasta tastes so good. You can see them cook for you. People are also very nice!

A little Italy in the heart of Brussels. Great dishes cooked and served in the traditional Italian way. The atmosphere, décor and layout of the restaurant adds a finesse that Italians are famous for.

The worst experience and at a business dinner! One of the few times that food was uneatable! The filet of sole had no taste, the escalope au citron (lemon) was served with red (tomato) pasta. The bottle of wine we had orderd was taken away and no one cared to serve us! When we asked for it they ignored us and had to go through an intense discussion with the maitre. Extremely expensive for what it offers.

We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 glasses of wine and we paid nearly 50€. If the quality was good, I wouldn’t mind the price but it was one of the worst we had in Brussels. Even if I can not say anything about the service (neither good nor bad), We were expecting a better food quality than the one we received. The cheese and tomato were not of a good quality and the dough was tasteless. We ordered the house’s wine, hoping an Italian restaurant would have a good choice, but it didn’t make it justice to the country. The decoration and the ambiance is old school but I guess it has its audience. If you are aiming for a good Italian pizza, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Best place to eat pasta! I ordered tagliatelle with mushrooms and cream and a delicious tiramisu.

We had such a nice experience. The owners helped us choose some wonderful dishes. Try is a gem of a find. Our service was superb and the cost was far less than I expected.

Overall an “okay” restaurant. The carbonara disappointing as they used bacon instead of guanciale and it wasn’t a very good one. The seafood pasta was nice and had a rich flavour. We had good service.

Just a great place with quality food. I would go everyday if I could. The "poussin à l'orange" is just wonderful.

Pizza so thin I forgot I was eating it! Almost 15 euros for a thin piece of dough that won't even fill a child. Their pizza is a cracker with a tomato base!

Low quality food, weak spritz, poor service, waiters can't respect personal space. Way overpriced for what you get. 2 stars because the room by the window is kind of pretty P.S. you may wear as many masks as you want to.. but if you are worried about Covid-19 avoid this place. They will put a total stranger at less than 50 cm from you.

😠 Had to wait 30 minutes for a simple burger order. The burgers are just lying there, ready to be served, but staff is generally not capable or willing to pick one up and lay it on a platter. Be prepared to invest some time when visiting this place. Really makes you consider the "fast" in "fast food".
