Arrogant, dishonest, disrespectful and even insulting are the kindest words I can find to describe most (not all) of the employees in this Visa Center. Oh, and I can add "incompetent" since they lost some of the original documents that they required me to provide. That was even funnier when they accused me to not taking care of my belongings! Administrative stuffs are usually not the most enjoyable thing but my top 3 experiences in term of bad behavior and bad services are all from the Chinese Visa Center In Brussels. Also I'd like to precise that I've never, never heard a single "hello, thank you or goodbye" neither in English, French or Chinese. I have Chinese origins and I frequently travel to China so there is no misunderstanding in term of process. I'm a Belgian citizen since I'm 7 years old and during the 25 years I passed in this country, I know for a fact that China doesn't have a good image in the West. But the Chinese are doing a lot of effort to improve it. Despite of everything we can see in the medias, China is a nice country with a lot of amazing and kind persons. However these people hiding behind their security glasses and abusing of their power are a caricature of what anybody dislike! To be honest, I just don't understand why behaving like that. This is the saddest part... they are the first Chinese contact for everyone willing to visit China... A shame!

1)Employers don't even hesitate to listen to your story. Arrogancy & being difficult seems to be the priority, it isn't positive at first sight though as pre-entrance to China. 2) The website lacks information, because of it, needed to go twice to make it done. They ask much more information then it is requisted from the website. 3) After an observation of 30-60 minutes. Employers lack to respect the appliers instead of being professional and help the appliers!!!! 4) Lack of supervision.

I needed to pick up my passport and visa but I had lost the pick-up receipt. The website said that if you lost your pick-up receipt, you could simply bring a valid ID to pick it up. The employees at the counter had another idea and quickly escalated the situation... I was called "stupid", yelled at, and called a liar. When I finally reacted - saying this is absolutely ridiculous, you can't keep my passport - she threatened to call security! When I showed them the place on their website that said you could bring your ID instead of the slip, she finally said, " Yes, you can. Some other day. But not today," knowing that I had to travel nearly three hours round trip to get there and back. Their only power over you is the fact that they have your passport hostage, and apparently enjoy abusing this power. Now I have to schedule another trip during their limited opening hours, taking off work, and paying 14 euros in round trip train tickets for the SECOND TIME, just because the employee wanted to 'teach me a lesson'. I've never been treated like this by someone in customer service in my entire adult life. If they didn't have my passport I would cancel the service all together and mail the visa application in to the embassy directly. This was honestly the strangest experience I have ever had in a place of business. Be extra careful once you relinquish your passport because once they have that, they can get really nasty. :/ Good luck and safe travels.

I had a really great experience - super friendly and helpful! As long as you checked the website first and come prepared everything will go smoothly. A few tips - don't forget to write in black ink and make sure the background of your photo is white (different requirements than in Belgium). There's also a copier, computer with printer, and photo booth to help you in emergency cases - bring some cash just in case! I think the bad reviews come from unprepared applicants. I couldn't believe all I heard while waiting for my turn - people not bringing passports, incomplete applications, no itinerary or contact info while in China, etc. And then they acted as though it was the fault of the Chinese Visa workers!

It’s a shame, total mess, corruption!!! Unbelievable. How can the Chinese Embassy deny a Belgian student the visa to go for an Educational tour To China?,, just because at the moment, China has a Problem with Kenya? How is a 20 yr old, a permanent resident of Belgium has to do with whatever is going on between the president of Kenya and the president of China? β€œHEAVEN COME DOWN I ASK YOU!!” IS THIS FOR REAL? Let’s share this post until we know the connection between a child born in Belgium but has proudly kept her Kenyan Nationality got to do with the trains debt in Kenya!! Are these guys β€˜just workers’ or diplomats?DIPLOMATS? But we live here in Belgium with a lot if Chinese people: too good to be true, very loving and appreciative people, with respect especially when you visit their restaurants.. who have they put in their EMBASSY in BELGIUM? My dear friendly Chinese, you are being crucified by your own! Sorry. Too sad. I let you be. You will only be treated well if your nationality is not AFRICAN..

Entrance is not well marked, it is shared with medical/dental centre. After going to 1st floor, friendly security officer directs you to reception desk, where your application confirmation and passport are checked. You then get a queue slip with a number you need to wait for to show up on monitor. It took me 15min of waiting, then a quick check of documentation, fingerprint readings and payment of application (debit cards and cash only (revolut is ok)). Overall fast, efficient and easy service.

My Chinese boyfriend and I recently went to the visa Center to apply for my visa. Online application and booking appointment went really smooth. When we arrived, we were also warmly greeted at the entrance by the security guard and reception lady. We got our number and waited only around ten minutes before it was our turn. It wasn’t busy at the time so we were very lucky! The lady at the counter was very helpful. Payment also went very smooth! Now, around a week after I went in person, I got my passport and visa in the mail. Was a really great experience and very efficiently handled! So looking forward to my trip!

I totally do not agree with the previous reviews. All the staff was very friendly and handled my visa application swiftly. Maybe I was just lucky with the employees who helped me, but my experience was very positive.

From the website it wasn't clear what to do in case you stay over 30 days. But the application center was very helpful by mail and on the phone. The application went smoothly and I got my 60 days single entry tourist visa in only a few days. Remember to bring a photocopy of your passport as well. It seems to me as well that most negative comments came from people who weren't well prepared.

The service center is on the first floor. At the door there are signs that it is on the first floor. You can take the elevator up. Make an application online first, then make an appointment. Prepare all your necessary documents listed on the website after making your application and then the process should be smooth. Bancontact is accepted. There is also a printer and photobooth. The service is friendly if you are nice and well prepared.

We passed by today to apply for our visa. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They gave us plenty of useful advice. I guess things must have improved looking at the previous ratings! ;-)

The waiting times are very long at the moment, but the staff is efficient and professional. Everything is very well organised by the amazing security guard Ali, who is very helpful, personable and kind. Really made a difference to our experience.

They are discriminating people with hearing problems... I am Chinese myself, so it is not about race. One of the employees (female, 20-30 y/o) would not believe me that I am bad hearing, even after showing her my hearing aid. She did not want to repeat what she said when I was not able to understand her. She even laughed at me with her colleague... I'm disappointed in the staff of the Center.
