Historical landmark. This pamban bridge is the main land connection to Rameswaram otherwise Rameswaram is island. Pamban Bridge is opened by Rajiv Gandhi in 1988. It took almost 14 years to complete the 2.4 km long bridge. Before this only railway bridge was there to connect Rameswaram which was opened in 1914. Now there is new railway bridge construction is going on.

Beautiful place. The driving experience on the bridge is amazing. Make sure you plan in such a way that you can see the train on the track which is visible from the bridge. Do visit one time in life to this place.

Superb place... Experience of driving over it is surreal but the traffic because of people parking to enjoy the place is bad. The authorities should try and make a viewing gallery for tourists.

One of the best place in India. It was a really amazing experience. The view of the sea through the bridge was stunning. And the layers between freshwater and saltwater in sea. Its absolutely worth of visiting

It's a great engineering structure. The beauty of the Arabian Sea from that bridge is a heaven-like experience. In every direction it's only blue and blue. Hundreds of boats were sailing near the bridge. We experienced the view of the train crossing the bridge. The bridge connects the Indian mainland with Rameshwaram Island. This 2.2 Km bridge with a train crossing over it is a spectacular view.

A beauty to capture the glimpse of the clean pristine blue sea and pass over it. A unique experience in itself. Better to stop the vehicle before the bridge and have a small walk for photos as the narrow road could jam owing to constant vehicular movement. Luckily could capture an approaching train on tracks when stopped by.

Masterpiece, pride of India. Bridge is connecting India to Rameshwaram Island. View is unbelievable, even if it's 40Β°C, the view, scene, air and nature will heal you. Railway bridge is also there and that's also a different experience. Water is very shallow and merge of Indian ocean and Bay of Bengal is visible due to color/density change of ocean water.

The bridge is so long and well maintained. This is a must visit place at least once in the lifetime. The driving experience on the bridge is amazing. This is an architectural marvel. The bridge is massive and more than 2 km in length. There is also a railway bridge parallel to the road bridge.

Visited the bridge for the first time in my life and it's worth visiting the historical bridge. The bridge is so long and well maintained. The sea water underneath the bridge are clean without any littering. The water colour looked greenish. This is a must visit place at least once in the lifetime. It was really scary to feel the vibration of moving vehicles on the bridge

One of the best bridges I've seen till now. Always try to park your vehicle before the bridge starts its a narrow bridge. and you won't get stuck in the traffic. This is one of the best engineering marvels in India. While going to Rameshwaram temple I dint click any photos but while returning I had to take pictures and a few videos of my bike on the bridge.

Pamban bridge comes when you are visiting Rameshwaram. This is one of the longest and elegant bridges in India. The best view comes if you are crossing by train. Else you can actually come via your own vehicles and stop and enjoy the serenity of this place.

The Pamban Bridge, also known as the Pamban Rail Bridge, is a railway bridge that connects the town of Rameshwaram on Pamban Island to the Indian mainland. It is located in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The bridge is considered an engineering marvel and was constructed in 1914. At the time of its construction, it was the longest and highest bridge in India. The bridge is 2.3 kilometers long and stands at a height of 22 meters above sea level. The bridge has 143 pillars and is a cantilever bridge, which means that it is supported by a series of horizontal beams rather than cables. The bridge's design allows it to withstand the high-speed winds and cyclones that are common in the region. It has become a popular tourist attraction due to its stunning views of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding islands. The bridge also offers a unique experience for train travelers as the train passes over the bridge while offering scenic views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. It is a significant landmark in southern India and an impressive feat of engineering. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in engineering, architecture, and natural beauty πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

What can you say, you must experience it.. marvelous construction over the sea.. you can literally see two different sea / ocean colors on either side of the bridge... you can take a quick 5 min. halt in the middle of the bridge but will be ushered out by the cops.. suggested to halt after first 500mtr as you go then cross the police cabin then halt again...

One amoung the longest bridges in India. Pamban bridge can give an very beautiful site of the sea and the railway bridge which open on the encounter of ships. The view from above the bridge is really eye warming. Do visit the bridge in the evening time to enjoy the beauty of the sea to the fullest. And kindly make sure to park your vehicles in the bridge properly so that other vehicles can pass by without any hindrance.

Unbelievably refreshing breeze over this place. The colour of the water is distinctly different, a bit turquoise. Cannot park vehicles here since it's a narrow bridge, but you cannot resist the temptation to stop and catch a view here. Checkout for timing of trains that visit Rameshwaram, it will be a nice view to catch.

Such a beautiful place for a sea bridge in Bay of Bengal. A worthy place to halt and enjoy the sunrise or sunset while passing by. Too much windy and its enjoyable. Can park the vehicle on road and we can enjoy the beauty of the bridge. Police will regularly clear the illegal parkings and it will spoil the mood to enjoy, so it is suggested to park the vehicle before entering the bridge to avoid the traffic congestion especially during vacation times. Currently the Railway track is under construction and we can get to see one of the marvels.

Excellent place to wander. The view from this place is so amazing from both side. I will suggest people to go at the time of sunset and sunrise to this bridge. It is constructed in 1914 which connects Mandapam and Rameshwaram in Tamilnadu state, India. The railway track runs parallel with bridge and right now it’s under construction. Nature lover and wildlife explorer will get a better hotspots for Bird watching and can observe other wildlife as well as Marine activities.

Pamban Bridge Railway Track work is in progress. standing on the road bridge, which has such a nice feel in the morning and evening times of sun rise and sun set. Wind speed chills our minds and makes us calm. Such a beautiful view.

How would anyone not rate this place at its best. This place is a pride of India and a sure shot serves for first time viewers. In simple words it's just a bridge on the sea. Trust me it's not only that. Please stand in the middle of the bridge (over the footpath though) and spend some time. One side you'll have a sea view with a rail bridge and the other side will have country fishing boats with a sea view.

Since it is a bridge we have parked our car so long far away from the bridge and came and took these photos, I ve seen so many car s and buses stop here to admire the view and it causes lot of traffic hence. But can't just put any value for the view once u get here. Pictures doesn't do any justice.

Such a beautiful place. After hearing and reading so much about and visiting here it felt soooo good. There are lots of eagles here like around 500 of them. The water is so dreamlike. Such a photogenic and picturesque place.
