Carole and Ken were absolutely amazing! Super friendly and made sure we got everything we wanted. Delicious fish and chips, will definitely be coming back again. The homemade tartar spice was really nice too.

Perfect lil' chippy in Helmsley, I can only speak for the chips and chicken bites but they were absolutely terrific! Really light, thin and crispy batter on the chicken, which was really tasty too. Chips are bangin! Disclaimer in the shop about everything being cooked in beef dripping, which explains the great taste, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're a veggie... Top notch. See photos.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Helmsley and spotted this chip shop which was due to be closing soon for eating in. The waitress Carole invited us in and said that we could eat in no problem. She was friendly and welcoming and was great with our children (age 5 and 3) engaging them in conversation. She spoke to us about the menu and about the sailors special which was Hake. None of us had tried this before and she offered to give us all a sample to see if we’d like to order it. We all loved it and ended up ordering 5 sailors specials. Carole kindly offered to split one between the two children and even gave them a small hot chocolate each instead of tea - the girls absolutely loved this! The fryers name was Sophie and our meals were cooked to perfection. This is a little hidden gem in Helmsley with wonderful staff that go above and beyond. We will definitely visit again if we’re in the area and would highly recommend it. Thank you!

We've enjoyed our very first visit to your shop. Fish and chips were fresh and lovely. The fryer was Sophie, she's done a very good job with the fish and chips. And our server Carole was very nice and friendly. Brilliant service overall. We'll definitely be coming back!

I’m almost ashamed to admit I’ve been here 3 times in four days which makes me well placed to leave a review. On a local caravan site I was in search of somewhere nice to get an evening meal. Found Deep Blue while wandering. I’ve had the fish, sausage and chips over the 3 visits. All was absolutely delicious. I fancy myself as quite the fish and chip connoisseur and these are definitely in my top 3!! Carol who serves on the till is an incredibly pleasant, warm and friendly lady and a credit to the business. Didn’t strike me as particularly expensive either when I think about it!! Couldn’t recommend enough. Five stars!!

Carole, Geoff and Sophie were all very nice and helpful. Carole was especially brilliant as she was very careful and professional with our order, as my mum is gluten free. She went out of our way to make sure there was no cross contamination between our foods. It's not always easy to handle allergens in small food shops, but it was all handled really well by Carole and the team - I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. The prices were great as well - huge portions for very good prices - rare these days!

Wow, what lovely lovely people. We called in for lunch today, my wife and son are vegetarian, they were offered chips cooked in oil rather than dripping, they also cooked us pineapple rings (double ones) for my son as these are his favourite, the batter was lovely. We really enjoyed our lunch and all your staff do you proud. We will be back! Thank you.

Our server was so lovely, she got us seated all together even though we were a big group and then explained the menu really well. The fish and chips were delicious and they had some great meal deals. Highly recommend.

The best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The fish was crispy, the chips were cooked perfectly and our mushy peas were very fresh. A lovely cooked meal with brilliant value. We used the self service till using the discount code to get 10% off. Carole and Matty gave lovely customer service. We’ll be back on our next visit 🙂

It was New Years Day and we were struggling to find somewhere that was open. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Deep Blue were open and was greeted with a friendly smile from the staff. On arrival we saw there was a self service screen offering us 10% off our order. It was quick and easy and helped the staff and the queue. A great addition! The lady who was serving us was so friendly, warm and helpful. The fish and chips were amazing as always! Delicious! 😋

Amazing fish and chips. Generous portions and beautifully prepared. Carole gave us wonderful service and was most kind, friendly and helpful. Service like that really makes the meal. Our friends last came to stay with us in Helmsley a year ago, and particularly asked if we could go to Deep Blue as we had enjoyed it so much then. Again, thanks to Carole, the great team and the wonderful food and atmosphere. Thank you so much. We would give 10 stars if we could!

Dispite it being almost closing time Carole and Sarah welcomed us into the restaurant with open arms. The fish & chips were delicious and plentiful and the service was outstanding. My son also loved the huge pot of special hot chocolate Carole made him to wash down his meal. As well as great food and service the whole place was immaculately clean too. We will certainly be back next time we are in this area. Thank you Sarah and Carole.

Carole our server was an absolute joy. Terrific sense of humour and so helpful. The fryer Sophie helped bring the food out and she too was a really friendly person. I can honestly say the way we were treated, together with the food were a definite motivation to return.
