We recently used the Borrowfield lodge to host 2 focus groups for a market research project. I couldn't recommend the venue highly enough. It was a brilliant space, great room and the owner was very welcoming. If you're looking for a venue outside of the city centre, it's a perfect for this type of event. The participants and clients felt very comfortable and we were extremely happy with the service.

Lovely one night stay on our journey home from Yorkshire. Well presented room, beautifully decorated and well equipped with a fabulously luxurious bathroom with a large shower and bath. Set in a quiet location with a kind host. What else do you want? Would recommend without hesitation.

Nigel is the perfect host..knows the area very well. Great restaurant recommendations. Have stayed @ Borrowdale Lodge 3 times now (travelling for work) The accommodation is very comfortable and spotless. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

Unbelievable welcoming by Nigel. The rooms are extremely well presented and furnished. Spotless in fact. I personally had an extremely ‘roomy’ room with the choice of a shower or bath. You won’t find much better places than this. I just wish he had a chain of lodges over the UK for work. Thank you Nigel and I hope to stay with you again soon.

We had a wonderful 4 days at the lodge, thanks to Nigel & Dawn. They are great Hosts and very attentive to every detail. Due to a flight cancellation and a long day, we arrived quite late in the evening, but Nigel was there to assist and insure we would get settled. Accommodations were terrific. The Lodge was our 'base of operation" as we visited friends and family in the area. Also near by, in walking distance, were great Cafe's and restaurants as well as a small CO-OP store for for everyday needs. You couldn't help but feel like family. Highly recommend the Lodge.

Thanks Nigel for a wonderful 2-night stay in your very nice home! We thoroughly enjoyed the well decorated room and spacious bathroom with rain shower and separate claw foot tub. Nigel was extremely attentive and quick to respond to us before and throughout our stay. Would highly recommend. On east outskirts of Derby close to Nottingham. Not far from Chatsworth House. We stayed at borrowfield lodge the night before my wedding at the west mill, and Nigel was nothing but accommodating! The rooms were beautiful and as we had all 3 booked we had full use of the downstairs too, including the piano (which we enjoyed a sing along with - sorry Nigel!) Nigel was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, we had a chaotic morning with make up and hair dressers and anything we needed he would sort. If you are getting married at the west mill or are visiting for a wedding, it’s a perfect place only 10 mins away! The 4 on location was simply as Google maps doesn’t take you to the correct address! He even left me some chocolates to say congratulations on the wedding, and was so kind when I was asking if we could check out late. Would 100% stay again. Thank you!
