It’s a very cozy place, clean and good service🤵🏼. My Parmy was very yum🤤, but my partner's Rump dish was cold and he didn't enjoy it very much👎🏻. We loved the beer🍻, we tried tap beer such as Jack de Picas Porter with chocolate and coffee notes and a creamy texture and Four Wives Pilsener with a floral aroma and spicy flavor. If you want to enjoy a nice chat and a good beer, this’s the place. Playlist music is good, moderate volume, you can choose inside or outside space. I recommend it and enjoy it👌🏻.

We ordered via the App. at the table and the food took ages to arrive. No cutlery and serviettes were provided so we had to go hunting for them. The steak was $46 which was so over priced it was embarrassing. I could have gone to a proper steak house for close to the same price and also have an entree and glass of wine included for the same price. Overall the food was very average and super expensive. As for atmosphere, it was crowded and unappealing. Not a fan and certainly way over priced for what they offer.

don't order the eggplant parmi. it's so tiny but it tastes really good and they give you a lot of chips. nice mozzarella fresh, everything was fresh and tasty. get the chicken parmigiana or schnitzel instead honestly. service is fantastic. and so fast as well. everything else was great.

Didn't even get a chance to take a photo of my food, it was so good I couldn't resist eat it! Ordering with a QR code is really convenient and such a good idea. Would definitely stop here again when I'm hungry food good food. The vegetarian options are beautiful! Very good and caring staff members as I got a glass of water before I even asked for it.

Stoped in for dinner. Live music duo playing who were very good but a busy place. Sat outside and had to clean our own table. Staff were very friendly though. Food was real good but beer was very ordinary as can be seen in the photos. The person delivering it also didn’t seem to care much as he spilt it putting it on the table, then just walked away. May give the place a second chance if in Melbourne again, beer may have been a one off…..

My partner and I went for drinks. The beers on tap were really good, and the band that performed the music was great! However, we saw baby mice close to us. Their presence is a clear indication of poor hygiene and pest control.

I love this place! It’s home to the James Squire Brewhouse! If this is your first time visiting, go for their paddle. The friendly staff behind the bar will help you with the selection and always get their recommendations right. Ever since I’ve come here, I’ve been hooked with James Squire cider. No regrets! They have great chips (and a generous portion!) if you fancy munching on something while enjoying your drink. In one of our visits, we decided to go for their main course options, and we ordered the Chicken Parma ($31) + Fish & Chips ($29). Both came hot, and freshly made. Great portion, and excellent tase. This place is never a disappointment. Love it!

A great place to watch the sport. We popped in to watch the Women's Tennis Semi Final. And had a very good plate of calamari to go with our dinner.

Great place for a pint or two. Seats inside, outside and upstairs. Great craft beer and meals. (although I only tried the brew! 🍻)

James Squire has a nice spot. It’s a large multi-leveled spacious venue with a pool table, fireplace, comfortable seating and strategically placed screens. I trust you’re not going to find loyal regulars here but good joint with a kitchen for transients looking to pass some time or watch some sport.

Good venue and chilled vibe, nice sitting area outside. Food’s descent. Had 12 hour cooked lamb shoulder that was really juicy and I liked it a lot.

The dining experience had its ups and downs. Some dishes took 15 minutes longer to arrive, which was disappointing as others at our table had already finished their meals. The classic parma's salad was simply lettuce, which was a letdown, but the complementary sauces were a nice touch. The sausage roll and lamb pie were enjoyable, seemingly handmade, though their prices seemed a bit high for what they offered. Great selection of beers.

Nice pub setting. Moved to the area this month for work and enjoyed the salt and pepper calamari. Was very fresh and portion for the price was great. The main meals that other colleagues had were huge and looked tasty also. Will be back to try other meals.

Great spacious pub with live entertainment sometimes. I dined on the terrace which is great for a casual work lunch on a sunny day. I ordered the salad, which was big, healthy and delicious! Lovely customer service with a smile!

Always a nice option for good craft beer or food at the back of your mind kind of place. Nice vibe great for night out or group catch-ups. Love the option of beer tasting. Friendly staff. A nice place to watch sports for sports fans. Reasonable pub food. Easy recommendation anyone around the city who wants some nice cold quality beer

Was looking for a place to have some steak and watch the Australian Open and I'm so glad I came here. Visited at lunch time on a weekday, ordered a 250g rump steak with mushroom sauce & a glass of shiraz. Costed $49.50 cash, would've been more on card, high surcharge. Steak was cooked well, sauce delicious, nice dressing on the salad, and fries were crispy and seasoned well. Wait was only 15 mins. Tall bar stools have backs, accompanying high tables with foot rest so it's very comfortable. All staff serve you with a smile. Place felt very comfortable, welcoming and safe. Upbeat chill music. There's a 'pub classics lunch special' - $22 on Mondays to Thursdays 12pm to 3pm. You can order from the table via QR code if you prefer, which also states that if you're in a group and everyone orders within 3 mins, the food will be served at the same time. I went back again the week after and the Parma was also delicious! Wait time even less this time barely 10 mins. Toilets decent, stocked toilet papers and paper towels, working soap dispensers, no clogged bin. Next time I'll have to try dining on the other (bigger) sections, place is huge!

Service, food and drinks are all that of your average local pub... if you live within walking distance of Russell Street, then no issues. If you are traveling all the way into the CBD for the flagship James Squire restaurant, then I would definitely visit at your own risk, extremely average.

Nice clean place. Food was good all the times that I went over a few trips. Beer is much more traditional styles rather than all the over the top high octane stuff that is going on in the states lately. It was a refreshing change to how beer used to be and probably should be again.

On our way to a show on 27 October, we walked into the Crafty Squire where we were served by CASEY, who had to check the menu from outside as it was not showing the vegetarian option that was on the outside menu. He apologised and helped with something else on the menu. He was very kind and considerate. Although I am not a vegetarian, I often opt for it as a choice. Our meal was great, thank you to the chef. While enjoying our meal, it was a real pleasure listening to the music from ADAM TARDREW. He was very good at continuing the music over from song to song, making the songs flow as one. We totally enjoyed his type of music play. It was a nice atmosphere that bought us back a few years too. Loved it! Happy guy, and he was delighted when i said we enjoyed his songs. Great job, TCS. Nice to listen and see someone play..

Food was good, VERY large serving of chicken parmi. The gravy bowl did not match said serving size in addition to the chips. The dish, whilst good for value, lacked flavour. We were on the bar side of the establishment, and the area smelt like old alcohol. We sat outside. We could not fault the iconic James Squire assortment of alcohol, but the bar-boy made it uncomfortable to order. Equivalent to a bistro at a sports club

Had a great dinner here. Staff friendly and efficient. Easy ordering via website . Good kids menu and vegetarian/vegan options! The kids chicken was great and very much enjoyed . Vegan burger delicious. All chips cooked to perfection. Steak was great but not quite well-done. Beer great too. Would return .

A friend and I had been sitting and enjoying drinks since the early afternoon. We were enjoying ourselves enough that we were about to order dinner and continue ordering drinks while watching the rugby. We were approached and got told we needed to be off our table within 10 minutes for a reservation (had never been told prior), then 2 minutes later we were told to leave. Super disappointed as we had been there for a while and already spent a few hundred dollars and willing to spend more.

Vibes are high here, a little loud, a little rowdy but in a good way. Its a pretty big venue with seating across various levels as well as outdoor. Good pub food menu with a twist. The saganaki cheese had solid flavours, sweet potato fries were also good. My steak was a bit tough but the chicken parmigiana was good. Decent pub prices as well. Second level has multiple screens showing sports

Love this place, go there before the AFL Grand Final every year. Attended again yesterday, food is pub fare and excellent. Had the Lamb pie, was just so good. Beers offered are different styles, but tried and loved the Winters Day dark ale. Now on my preferred beers list. Recommended

Eat here every year for our annual Xmas lights weekend. Always sit outside, easier with small children who love watching the passing cars. This year, particularly want to express sincere thanks to the lovely young man who sorted out the order I had messed up. Meals arrived promptly and were delicious. Your courtesy and understanding was much appreciated. Highly recommend.

Great service! We had such a good experience, the app ordering was really good and we loved that our good came out together. The food was really good and we always love James Squire cider. Great for a group catch up, good vibes, and they didn't have the tvs on too loud!

The whole James Squire range, reasonably priced. The pub is split into few small rooms. Music was contemporary and thrilling. No lounge or sofa, only high tables with bar stools.

Excellent beers and grub. Very generous helpings. We had the parmas, gnocchis and couple more mains between 8 of us...always got quick service with a smile. Highly recommended. Will be back soon.

Nice Place for lunch or drinks. Visited The Crafty Squire for a lunch with friends and was not disappointed with the food. The servings were large and good value for $20 (during lunch). They have a decent beer selection being a pub and the interior gives off a really good pub atmosphere. On the day we went it was not too busy for lunch so it may be worth it for a quiet ish spot to dine.

Great beers, my golden ale was lovely. The fish n chips I had was a bit average for $25. Serving size ok. Chips were good, but the battered fish was a bit too oily and unfortunately the salad was just a pile of lettuce 🙁

The vibe is great for a night out or catching up with friends. City pub with a great atmosphere. The perfect place for a lunch break or an after work drink/meal. The place is very cozy, clean, and the service is excellent. They make a great chicken parma.

Excellent meal, beverages, and staff. Pleasant drop in experience. Porter was top notch. Had the scotch steak and gnocchi, both very good. Reasonable price.

After ordering food with the QR code, it took what felt like was almost 1 hour for the food to come, when the food finally arrived after almost dropping it off to the wrong table, the chips and calamari were cold as *EDIT* I am changing this review because the acting manager refunded us no questions asked while other staff were sympathetic. And the drinks were actually pretty good.

This Parma is defs in the top 5, it was delicious and came out super hot and fresh. Staff were lovely, but it was a super busy Saturday night with a few big parties happening, including ours, order earlier if you see it’s busy. Drinks were also fantastic, the lemon lime and bitters was well mixed. Enjoyed ordering from the table. Street parking all around, but 1 to 2 hours, best to take another mode of transport or a paid parking lot.

was there for a uni event last night and thought I’d leave a review. I had a fantastic time - the music was great, the bar staff were all really nice (<3 Josh and the guy with pink hair ily), and it was good to see a decent range of gluten free options :) the gin you recommended was really good too, so thanks for that! would 10/10 go back.

Team drinks for EOFY. Spacious and lot of room including upstairs. No happy hour. G&T regular was $12.50 which was a bit pricey. Liked the fact that they serve fries not the thick cut chips.

Great pub in the middle of the city. Awesome for a lunch break or an after work pint/meal. Went there for a work dinner and although they were severely understaffed, they were super polite and did what they could to get the food out asap. Ordered a bunch things. Everything was delicious.

Great food, great atmosphere. Accepts reservations. Food and drink can be ordered at your table via online which is super easy and convenient. However a bit pricey for pub food.
