Came here on a Saturday and was not aware of the 10% service charge on the weekend. Had two savoury crepes and two sweet ones, the spiced beef & lamb sausage one was our favourite. The waiters were friendly, even offered us to try the French chestnut spread before in a teaspoon before ordering the sweet crepes. Overall we enjoyed our meal here.

Most delicious crepe! Everything is just perfect, and I could eat more! We ended up ordering their savoury and sweet specials which are not on the menu. Staff were friendly and lovely, and the ambience is great! Would definitely come back here again.

What a delicious little place. Amazing crepes, good coffee. Lovely staff with beautiful accents. Almost felt like we could have been abroad for a sweet minute or two.

Had the famous Suzette with an extra crepe. Was just what we needed. Not too sweet, soft and buttery with the sauce. The flambé was cool. Hot chocolate with the house made cream was beautiful. Again, not sweet but light and creamy. The chocolate flavour was delicate and just right for us. Great dessert place, highly recommended!

Super friendly (and cute) staffs! Nice vibes during dinner time. Would recommend the ones with spicy sausage (e.g. Atlas), which is not really spicy but really tasty. Good place to catch up with friends or enjoy some time with the loved one. Good quality-quantity balance! Will definitely come back soon.

A fine French cage, Roule Galette's limited menu emphasizes their strengths in all the right ways. Though limited on variety, the fare is tasty and the staff is unerringly polite and kind. The space is cozy, though feels a bit spare. Roule Galette is worth a short wait in line, and very much worth checking out for those in this part of Melbourne.

Haven been back in close to 7 years, just as good as it was the first time I tried it back in 2007. Was a bi-annual affair till 7 years ago. Great job keeping the quality up!

It's a beautiful little spot for an amazing crepe experience. I highly recommend everyone who wants to treat their sweet tooth friends to drop in and try their crepes. Possibly the best Melbourne has to offer. Love em to bits. The service is always amazing and having visited multiple times, I can guarantee you will have a good time.

I came to Roule Galette with absolutely no idea what to expect. I didn’t know what a galette was before my girlfriend and I received a breakfast invite from her family and I googled it; I’d never even had a proper taste of French food before. Boy was I shocked. Roule Galette is tucked away on a sleepy alley that provides a lovely atmosphere, and is staffed by many French travelers and French Australians! The galettes themselves are beyond belief, a savory pancake-type food perfectly suited for my general avoidance of a sweet brekkie. Tonguy (unsure of spelling mate, sorry!!) was a brilliant waiter, as well as the other staff member who helped us with our coffees. Kudos to the whole team for serving up a truly amazing experience for my first taste of France! ???

I had passed by a few times, but it was always busy. Today I timed it right and got to try a Galette. It was delicious and reminded me of Breton cuisine from times past. I looked longingly at the milkshakes and creamy deserts that others were having, but my coffee and Galette were both great and I needed nothing more. The service was good and I was brought water without having to ask.

This place has been in our to-go list for so long and we’ve gone past it so many times and they’re always so busy! Luckily last weekend we were able to wake up early and went straight to the place around 10am. Mind you, they opened at 9am and there was already people eating inside and a line outside, when did everyone get there?! 😂 We shared the La Lotus (biscoff crepe) 🍨 and Merguez (lamb & beef sausage galette) 🥩paired with double espresso milkshake 🥤 and latte ☕️ Both dishes were absolutely incredible! We can definitely understand why people are lining up to eat here 😍 The galette was so delicious, it kinda reminded us of borek but it might be because of the flavorful lamb & beef sausage. The crispy galette with soft fried egg and sausage filling gave a very nice texture combo that was so satisfying. The crepe itself was a dream come true honestly, it’s the best crepe I’ve ever had. Also, the presentation was so cute! I didn’t expect that it will look like a coin pouch. The coffee milkshake and latte were great pairs for these dishes. It started raining when we’re in the middle of eating and it gave that romantic vibe, like we’re actually eating somewhere in France 😂 Anyway, I highly recommend this place if you’ve never been 💯

Great People, food and Service. Very welcoming staff and great food. French decor added a nice touch. They have moved couple times in the same lane. The home made caramel sauce on the rivière pancakes was so delicious, must try! One of Melbournes best spots.

WORTH THE WAIT Even on a rainy day. The Galettes are naturally Gluten Free, and the Crepes have Gluten Free options. All four of us could not fault the food, the atmosphere or the service. Our servers spoke French & for a moment I had to remind myself I was still in Melbourne & not in France. A huge variety of savoury & of sweet options. Lots of alternative milk options for your coffees. I will be back to try more of the menu that is for sure.

I recommend a galette with truffle oil 😋 I had 'Complete a la Roule Galette', and the egg, ham and cheese went really well with truffle oil! Also, the coconut ice cream crepe (special menu) was very nice. Highly recommended 😊 However, the apple compote crepe lacked texture as the compote was made with grated apple.

A lovely cafe for authentic French crepes and galettes. Generous portions and fresh ingredients. There was a mix up with coffee orders regarding number of shots being added - ended up being weaker than expected. Suzette was OK but has been better in the past. But all in all, a lovely experience and we're happy to come back again.

Only found this place because a local took us there. Absolutely wonderful French staff. The food was great but the service made this place.....great atmosphere. Very small but adequate wine list - the petite Chablis was lovely and crisp and chilled.

Very nice place for authentic French crepes hidden away on Flinders Lane near Flinders Street Station. The Roule Galette complete is very good sms we also enjoyed the dessert crepes. We had the Chamonix and the flaming Famous Suzette. The staff are also very friendly. Highly recommend this place. ?

Turn off the main street and into Scott's Alley, you'll find Roule Galette a cozy slice of France serving the best crepes in Melbourne. We again enjoyed a breakfast treat of delicious sweet crepes. (La Gourmande & La Garibou) The staff are friendly and the service is prompt. There is a great variety of sweet and savory crepes that are well priced. We will return

The website says they’ll transport you to France and to France they transported us. The food was absolutely amazing. The whipped cream on the La Belle Normande was exceptional. Every dish was worth every cent paid and the service was as warm as the galettes themselves. If they were listed, I’d invest in their shares. Will definitely return to try more of their menu.

Amazing French crepes and Galettes. We came here at around 9am Saturday morning and there was already a queue. A popular place to take your kids to enjoy delicious crepes 🤤 I don’t blame the parents…. even I couldn’t resist those crepes. Highly recommend their signature crepe with 🍓 🍌 topping with 2 scoops of ice cream and nutella. Can’t go wrong with that :) There are both indoor and outdoor seatings.

Great galettes and crepes! Staff is very friendly and welcoming, and I love when they speak French, it feels like you traveled to Paris and sit somewhere there enjoying the coffee and company. I was in their new location, which is right next to the old one. The interior is cozy and warm, and it's great that they have more tables inside! I'll definitely come there again.

Loved this place! The short wait outside in the cold was totally worth it. Staff were very friendly and the crepes were delicious! Slightly on the expensive side however it's a great experience. They lit the apple one on fire at the table which was very cool!

The food here is SO good. It's definitely in top 3 places I've eaten in Melbourne, might even be a favourite. We ordered a Capri gallete, that had the most delicious basil pesto and the sweet flambéed crêpe hit the spot. I am coeliac and felt the staff was knowledgeable and accomodationg. Looking forward to returning and recommending to other people.

Never really tried French cuisine at a proper venue until a coworker recommended this place to me. Service and the staff were super friendly and fun. Atmosphere was very nice; warm and cozy and not too loud. The savoury crepes (galettes) were crispy and tasty. Dessert crepe was beautiful (felt guilty eating it as it looked too pretty). Verdict? Highly satisfactory, especially the staff 😊

If you are looking for a nice French experience. Then this is the place. It's cosy, very french like, and even the people serving all speak english with french accent. I felt it added to my experience. The crepe we had was really tasty. If you are coming with a large group, you will need to book in advance. However, 2 people were easy to fit without booking. Def. Will come back for more

Forget bacon & eggs. You need a Galette! Every time we stay in the city, Roule Galette is a must visit for breakfast/brunch. Despite the lines of late, it's definitely worth waiting for. I got the complèt Galette, with an Oringina, and it just makes my CBD stay. Staff are always friendly, and check up if you need anything extra.

This is, without a doubt, my favourite Melbourne cafe. Everything about it is just so lovely. They serve delicious, authentic crepes, with just the right amount of toppings, all so well balanced. They don't try and be fancy or clever, and simply let the food speak for itself. The staff are so friendly and nice and the food is reasonably priced for an inner Melbourne laneway cafe. I have made it a point to visit here at least once everytime I visit Melbourne. Highly, highly recommended.

I loved everything about Roule Galette! They had a great selection of both sweet (crepes) and savoury (galette) dishes, and the portion was just right. The Roule Galette Complete, one of their most popular, was packed with delicious ham and cheese, and their classic crepe Suzette was light and refreshing. Although a bit tight inside (despite the new venue) the ambiance remained cosy. The staff were super friendly too. Definitely one of my favourite eateries!

Very friendly service. Generally, the place is packed and waiting to dine in. Foods are delicious, served warm crispy or dessert warm soft, and served promptly. Fresh flower decoration, strong delicious food smell. The price is around $20/per meal. Apparently, you'll get a gold trophy if visiting 3 times in a row. The toilet is small, needs to be thin to get in and close the door. (Recommending sliding door).

Crazy that you have to line up to get into a cafe for brunch - here in Melbourne, if it's good, you line up for about 20 minutes. It was worth it. The crepes were light tasty and held maximum feelings. Each crepe tasted as good as it looked and I got bonus chocolate with my apple sweet crepe. The savoury crepes were yum and the mulled wine full of body and flavour. Toilet was clean, restaurant was super busy but we'll organised

Popular little place to eat!! Service was efficient and food was delicious. I got the La Green galette - filling and a great combination of flavours! Love how many of their ingredients are homemade - my friend had the strawberry crepe which had their house cream (she said it was very nice). Great for gluten free - all galettes are naturally gluten free, plus the crepes can be made gluten free for an extra $2 Will definitely be back sometime 😊

Ordered a double sugar and butter crepe, ham and cheese Galette and a biscoff milkshake. I really enjoyed the texture of the crepe, it was very soft and chewy, but wish I got one with a bit more flavour such as the butter sugar lemon. Galette wasn't for me, the taste is a very savoury wholemeal flavour. Biscoff milkshake was delicious. I think this place is great value with the cheapest crepe being $6.50 and they're quite filling. Be prepared for a line!

  • 5/5 Inna E. 1 year ago on Google
Ohh soooo good and worth the wait in line!!! Just go already!!!! Everything was bomb from drinks to both sweet and savoury crepes. Service was also excellent! Biscoff crepe was yummmm, I like the way they serve it. However I think the spread inside can be a bit thick at some bites, still yum tho!! Just balance your bite!

Quick dinner at this casual eatery. Arrive early or you may have to queue for a seating especially if you are coming as a bigger group. We went for two savory galette - “complete a la roule galette” which is a classic French combination and the “altas”, an interesting combination of potatoes, spicy sausages and yoghurt. For the dessert, we had a “la belle normandie”, with apples and light cream. Also not to be missed is having a cider which completes the meal!

Breakfast with SIL @RouleGalette and half-day shopping in Melbourne I chose this cafe based on the excellent Google rating and it did not disappoint!! The galattes were beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious; coffees were nice and hot. Lovely ambience and service was excellent.

Absolutely loved my experience at Roule Galette. It has been many years (6-7) since my last visit and the size of the place as grown. Such great friendly service and the atmosphere was very relaxing. My prana chai hit the spot along with a superb Veggo Galette. My only wish was that I had more space to fit in a sweet crepe and sit around longer. There was no pressure to leave but I was conscious that were people waiting outside for a seat inside. Can't wait to return with friends.

What a delight it was to discover this little gem in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways. The crepes were delicious. The staff absolutely wonderful and the ambience warm and friendly.

Came here because we saw a long line queued up for breakfast last time we were in Melb. Ordered a Roule Galette because it was the name of the restaurant so we thought it can't go wrong. It was under-impressive. 3.5/5 stars. Crispy savoury crepe, fresh salad with dressing, the rest is ordinary. Me and husband both think it would be nice to have butter drizzle on top to make it more saucy, less dry. Table next to us ordered a Camembre and it looked promising: moist cheese with green apple on top in crispy savoury crepe. I'll come back to try that

Wow. The gourmet crepe was sublime. Strawberries banana sliced almonds chocolate and vanilla ice cream. We shared for two. Lovely double espresso. Friendly staff.
