Overall ok but personally speaking I think it’s more hype than substance. The meat bag is literally what it is; with some onions. Their signature dish is literally a whole cauliflower. The gimmick is cute at the start till you gotta get in there and cut it up to eat. As soon as I sat, I noticed a dirty plate with food residue.

Food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the intimate pita, and the eggplant love and kebab. The wagyu beef in the pita was cooked perfectly and delicious. The eggplant and chickpeas drenched in tahini is out of this world. Sitting outside in hardware lane eating Miznon on a mild summer evening should be a mandatory Melbourne experience.

I ate here with a group, and we had arranged a set menu. They helped me get a gluten free meal, which I appreciated. Loved the table full of entrees. On any other day I would have stopped there, it was so generous! My special dessert was a plate of three excellent sweets, and everyone was jealous.

I had the absolute pleasure of playing here for a private work function with the mighty AMA band. What a fantastic location and atmosphere! Truly impressed by the staff, the food, the party people and by Afik our host who looked after AMA like we were family. I cannot speak highly enough of this place its perfect in so many ways! Do have a look at the photos below and if you need a private function room this is a hidden gem in Hardware Lane‼️🍽🔥🥃 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food and vibes. Came for weekday lunch with the boys, all were impressed. All dishes were perfectly balanced. Had the set menu - generous serving size and felt you leaving great

If you are visiting Melbourne and you want a culinary experience then this is the place. We were a group of four and they welcomed us with open arms within a frenzy of vibrancy. Were seated at the counter and where we watched the ordering and the cooking. Both was done with speed and proficiency and with a lot of fun and energy it was like being at a theatre. Then the food arrived and what an explosion of flavours and texture. WOW, WOW, WOW and a big thank you for giving us a culinary experience that we will never forget.

Miznon is definitely an acquired taste. Not so much the food, but the Israeli army regiment of the place. Past that, the food is a dream. Order whatever. It doesn't matter. It's just delicious...but follow the rules..

Amazing hidden gem. Delicious fresh food with a diverse range of dishes. The grilled eggplant with tahini and chickpeas and lamb pita were the highlights. Friendly staff, will definitely return *We went too late and missed out on the baked cauliflower as it was sold out. Will be back to try that dish!

Yum! The pitas were delicious. Had the beef brisket, rotisserie chicken 🐔, Angus beef 🍖 (intimate?) Pitas together with the whole cauliflower, potato 🥔 and spinach, and sweet potato 🍠. Highly recommend the cauliflower and the pitas to try!

It’s been on the list for a while now. We ordered the lamb carpocio and beef brisket. Both dishes were nice but lacked flavour and no sauce with the meat was a bit dry without any sauce. A bit overpriced as well for what it is. Ok for one time otherwise a bit meh.

How the miznon has fallen. Pre COVID an infallible lunch option. Now, riddled with inconsistencies, afraid of seasoning and just kind of average. The Israeli tiramisu is not worthwhile but the mousse and other desserts definitely are

Restaurant was full but we got seats at the counter, which was brilliant as we got talking with the very friendly chef who kept sneaking ‘tasters’ of other dishes to us! The eggplant was lovely, but so was everything else we tried too. The new take on fish and chips looked amazing. Apparently they do a special Shabbat celebration Friday night that I’d like to experience.

    - Get here for the opening ceremony, very nice to welcome the day and start with good energy - Pita salad was very good, lots of veggies and herbs - Deep Satisfaction pita was delish! I would prob order it without sour cream next time Will be back to try more options!

We had some pitas here and they were lovely. We were looking to change it up from all the Asian & French we were eating and this was fantastic. Had the Wagyu burger and 2 of the Golden Fish (upon recommendation). All were great. Pitas had a lovely, fluffy, light texture.

Take-a-way; Pita Ratatouille was great, and Pita terrific. COVID19 delivered. Baby Cauliflower was tender, Schnitzel to share was nice, was "just" ? enought to share, Sweet Potato was very small, and had burnt flavour. They added dips/sauce & two very small bits of pita, Tahini dip was the best. Bit pricy + delivery on top. We will give it another go soon.

Food was great. The service was really good. I really appreciated the waitress helping us swap tables as the one allocated wasn’t comfortable for our party of 4 people. I will highly recommend the place for their food and excellent service. Worth noting that The music was just too loud so we had a lot of difficulty having a conversation.

We ordered many dishes to share: Cauliflower, eggplant, beans, mezze, lamb carpaccio, bag of meat, sack of coq. I think the vegetarian dishes and carpaccio were fabulous but it didn’t feel like great value for money… the most disappointing dish were bag of meat and sack of coq. The former were 60% onions, we had to order two of these! The sack of coq was mostly spinach. The cocktails were beautiful but also mostly watered down by the amount of small ice they put in! For ~$70-80 per head including drinks (cocktails and a bottle of wine to share), you don’t leave feeling too happy. You order via a QR code menu and giving the responsibility to the patrons, having to scan your CC to pay each time is a major pain. Adding a tab option would fee more like a restaurant and not a fast food joint. The staff are friendly which is always nice

Not sure what everyone is on about with this place… Had cauliflower, bag of meat and lamb. Cauliflower is literally just a cauliflower stuck in the oven and burnt a bit on the top, there is absolutely nothing special about it. No seasoning, no flavour, no nothing… no idea why this is highly rated. Bag of meat was small and dry, with about 80% of contents being onion. Lamb was ok but swimming in sauce that just didn’t have a good flavour. Order via QR code from table, zero service. Definitely give this a miss, not good value for money.

In the evening, my wife and I wandered around the street and were drawn to this restaurant by the smell of barbecue. We didn't know what kind of restaurant it was, but the waiter was kind enough to introduce us and arrange for us to sit at the bar where we could experience the food up close and talk to the chef. We then realised that this was an Israeli street food restaurant. The whole experience was great, it was like being in the street. The food was delicious and we particularly recommend the roasted cauliflower and the aubergine grilled lamb. It was a great experience!

Food: pleasantly surprised. Didn’t know what to expect, but this place has great food. Everything comes out quickly and fresh, lots of middle eastern flavours - with the eggplant dishes being a high light. The bread is a must! Best thing that we ate. Venue/service: located on hardware, expect it to be busy and loud. The restaurant was super busy and the staff were attentive and always around when required. Overall, I recommend this place.

Been twice now and it is such a great place. Haven’t tried the cauliflower yet but it seems like a popular menu item considering that multiple tables around us ordered it. I stick to the pitas and they never disappoint. The Deep Satisfaction and the chicken one are delicious! A friend also tried their eggplant + lamb kebabs and that dish was a real winner too. Will probably order a lamb dish by them next time, it looks like they ace everything they have on their menu.

Miznon is an unconventional looking place. They've squeezed a kitchen and dining area into a space you wouldn't expect to accommodate it. Most of the seating is at the "bar" which is alongside the kitchen area where you see the chefs in action up close. Very cool. The food is good and definitely worth a go.

4.7/5 Long wait but trust me it’s worth it! Try to get the bar seating for the full experience. We had the lamb bone pita and the wagyu burger pita and it’s absolutely smashing. Perfect taste and the right amount of everything. Also, had their famous cauliflower and boy it did not disappoint. The roasted smell is crazy. And their service is good as well despite being so busy. Definitely coming back for their fish and falafel pita! Not gonna comment much here but I will let the videos do the talking.

Had the pitas and they were delish! They have a lot of veg options. Can't really comment much on the service since you order using the QR code and it's hands off in that manner. It's busy and crowded because well, what lane are ya in? I don't mind it but some people might. Definitely coming back here again to try the other dishes though.

Great food! The eggplants dish is just simply perfect. The portion is very small tho. The staffs are friendly but this place is pretty much self-service. Friendly reminder, the chilies are hot.

I will be back. This place has an energy that is exciting and inviting. Staff are welcoming, they groove to the music and create a fun atmosphere. The food was delicious. Whole baked cauliflower, roasted eggplant opened out and stuffed with creamy tahine and chickpea, dips with bread and a meat plate. All super tasty. We had a bottle of wine, price was fair, taste was good, can't recall the selection. The open kitchen is downstairs and it's the place to sit, it's small and it's where the action is.

Lots of meat and vegetables option for the pita bread. We had the roast lamb and beef brisket pita. The roast lamb carpaccio looks amazing! It is a busy dining place but the service is fast paced. Wanna try the vegetable options next time!

Came here with a friend for lunch, we got the intimate wagyu stew pita and the white pita (vegan). The food tasted phenomenal, the wagyu was very juicy and scrumptious and the white pita was flavourful and saucy.

Got a takeaway wagyu steak pita here. It was pretty busy when I ordered. However, i felt that it took a good 5 minutes before someone acknowledged me. I found the service quite lacklustre from the lady that took my order as it felt like i had interrupted her conversation and didn’t look like she wanted to be there. Despite this, the guy that gave me my order had great customer service. Pita itself was decent sized. Reasonably priced. Meat could have been seasoned a bit more but was cooked well. Would I come here again? Maybe. Perhaps dining in would be better.

We had to wait and got to sit by the bar seating, which was better than the tables we wanted. Got to see the action. They said they can do walk-ins for 2 people but it's best to reserve tables if you can. Awesome pitas. Tried the pumpkin which was good too. They also have a feed me option for dinner ($65pp) and lunch($40pp). I want to try that next time. You get to taste items for every section of the menu.

Good food of a different Middle Eastern style. Very busy place booking is recommended. Cosy bar style restaurant with basic set up. Very friendly staff entertaining atmosphere. You feel welcome the minute you step into the premises. A visit is highly recommended.

We enjoyed the food. We sat downstairs at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Staff were super friendly, and the bustle and action of the open kitchen area were fun, but be aware that it can be very noisy in that area.

  • 3/5 Bianca G. 4 years ago on Google
Tried the Cauliflower and Lamb off-the-bone pita. Honestly overhyped. Cauliflower was bland and mostly soggy. Lamb pita tasted okay, on the bland side as well. I felt it was overpriced for what you’re given. Atmosphere is very loud/crowded, flies everywhere which turned me off from eating. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here.

So visited for the first time with a girlfriend who loves Miznon. OMG, this food makes my heart and tummy sing. Had the bag of meat, cauliflower, bag of beans and roasted pumpkin. Everything was so yummy, I know their secret ingredient must be LOVE. Very grateful for finding you guys and I’m sure I’ll be a weekly regular. Great food, service, staff amazing atmosphere and well priced. Thank you Miznon ❤️

After reading many glowing online reviews, I had pretty high expectations for Miznon. Unfortunately it really live up to the hype. The pita I had was way too saucy and ran all over my hands when I was eating. Maybe some of the others hit the spot a bit more, but the one I had really wasn't filling.

  • 4/5 Katy R. 4 years ago on Google
Had a selection of the vegetarian share options and all where well prepared, simple and delicious! Loved the touch of the little side bar with extra bread and dips. Staff was lovely and friendly. Only down side was it was a little confusing how seating and ordering worked when we first got there.

Love the atmosphere and the food. That bag if golden meat was sensational! Sorry about the photos, we couldn't wait and ate some before I had a chance to take them!?

  • 1/5 jack h. 3 years ago on Google
Ordered the meal for two. Pretty sad and depressing what arrived. Was meant to have the schnitzel but received the wagyu which was so dry and looked like something you’d find in a bad truck stop. Baby cauliflower was bland and looked like they pulled it out of a compost bin. Beans and salad were ok but a pre-packaged salad from the super market would be of equal quality. Finally the moose was so average in taste and presented like the aftermath of eating at a dodgy KFC it actually made us laugh! This disaster will cost you $90 with an average wine. I wish you all the best guys but the 14 year olds at Macca’s have a better understanding of selling food.

We ordered a lunch takeaway (schnitzel, chicken in pitta & baked sweet potato) and LOVED the food. Super fresh, delicious, flavourful and generously portioned. The Schnitzel dish is massive for one person, the chicken in pitta was superb, the sweet potato was caramelised and utterly gorgeous. The sides are a lovely touch and the pitta is out of this world fluffy and fresh. If you're looking for Tel Aviv food standards in Melbourne, look no further. Highly recommended.

  • 1/5 Sofia K. 3 years ago on Google
Wanted to try this place forever! Was very disappointed from the food and the service. We chose to sit and order and the guy seemed to think or be somewhere else. But sometimes you can skip average service for good food. Ordered the steak in pita. Nothing really nice to mention. 18$ thou for a quite small serving. The biggest disappointment was the brisket. The onions were really nice but the meat super dry. Won't return.

  • 1/5 Marc J. 3 years ago on Google
I ordered the bag of meat and the cauliflower as a takeaway dish. I had high expectations from the reviews but what came was some slow cooked meat with onions and a cauliflower. I could have added more flavour cooking the ingredients if I added anything else at all because there was no flavour outside of exactly those ingredients, except for possibly a lot of pepper in the meat. For the price ($40) I am amazed this place exists. I'd expect to pay about $7 for this from Woolies as the quality was on par.

Amazing simple delicious food. Beef and chickpeas was tasty and tender. Cauliflower was a great accompaniment. Sweet potato also simple but well cooked and delicious. Basic counter ordering but friendly and efficient service. The music was unnecessarily loud making conversation difficult. Return visit did not disappoint and the friendly service from the crew (despite it being busy) added to the experience. Loved the baby octopus, bag of meat, sabich (eggplant), the infamous baby cauliflower followed the best chocolate mouse ever! Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

The food here was good, the atmosphere really reminded me of Tel Aviv, good music turned up loud, people full of energy on a Friday night working and singing in the kitchen. The small celebration for shabbat what really cool as well. I would highly recommend coming here with a small group of friends on a Friday night. Just be careful to get reservations ahead of time. The place got really full as the night went on.

🥙 pita 🥘 ratatouille pita 🥩 steak & egg pita 🥦 roasted cauliflower 🌰 hot chickpeas & pita 🐟 tunisian pita 🏠: @miznonmelbourne 📍: Hardware Lane 📝: Mediterranean street food served straight to your table right in the heart of Melbourne. With stores in Paris, Vienna, Melbourne and NYC, Miznon is super consistent with their taste and quality. ❤️: Absolutely had to get the famous best-selling Roasted Whole Cauliflower. If you’re not fast enough, there’s a high chance of it running out! Other menus were also amazing, especially the Pita with Ratatouille, literally perfection.

I was really looking forward to dining at Miznon because of the raving reviews but unfortunately it didn’t hit the mark in terms of food. The Lamb Shawarma was one of the more expensive lamb dishes on the menu so when I saw the small portion I was quite disappointed. It was cooked perfectly and the tahini was a tasty accompaniment but I found myself searching for more from this dish. The Baby Octopus & Chips were served in a bag to give a feel of the ‘street-style food’ and while it looked great, it was quite bland and underwhelming upon tasting it. The Bag of Golden Meat looked well-seasoned too but it became very boring, very quickly. It was cooked well but unfortunately it didn’t hit the mark for flavour. The infamous Baby Cauliflower Flower was just a baked cauliflower and there wasn’t anything more to it which is disappointing considering how much it is raved about. It was super soft but beyond that it was just a let down. The Freekeh Salad was pretty standard and it was a large serving size but nothing special. I can understand why this restaurant would appeal to people - the ingredients are fresh and the food is cooked well which I can give them props for. But as far as flavour goes, they were lacking in that department. The food had huge potential to be special but that just wasn’t the case. We felt like we had paid too much for such an underwhelming meal, and so I won’t be returning to Miznon unfortunately.

Loved this place! Beautiful food and awesome atmosphere! The frekkeh salad and lamb schwarma were to die for. The fried octopus and potato wasn't the best. The octopus was quite chewy and not much of a portion for the price you pay. Still 5 stars for me, will be back to try the rest.

Amazing food! We ordered Lamb Shawrma, Rotisserie chicken and Dips & Bread and they all were delicious. The bread was nice and soft and complemented the Lamb Shawrma. They have a nice cocktails menu too. So don't forget to order some drinks to go with your food. Service was quite nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to all the Mediterranean food lovers 😋

You need to come here to try their pitas, the baby cauliflower, roasted eggplant and great Israeli dishes. Highly recommend the set menu if you are stuck as well. Accomodating to vegetarians too. Amazing staff and service, very positive and welcoming.

Good service, nice food, casual ambience. We ordered the Feed Me Banquet and it's very healthy, barely any carbs so ideal for people on a diet. A lot of veggies in different forms such as baked sweet potato, a green salad and a baked coliflower. As a main we were served fish and meat and as an entree some dips with bread. Dessert was chocolatey heavy but still yum. If you're looking for healthier options this is it. However, for me it was not exciting enough, not rich in flavour and not really a novelty which is what I look for when dinning out.

We had dinner at Miznon last night, oh my, it was such a great experience. Lovely people, great food, amazing Pale Ale from Jerusalem. The deep fried Brisket was just phenomenal, shame we could only eat so much. Can't wait to go back again. God speed Israel.

The food was very tasty...but...the portions were very out of whack. We were a table of 2 people and next to a table of 5 people. Both tables ordered the share platter and we both seemed to get the same amount of food! For 2 people it was too much food.

I only tried the vegan/vegetarian dishes, and they were quite nice. From the ratatouille to the cauliflower. Not too overpriced with a distinct vibe and ambiance outdoor and indoor. Indoor seatings would need you to take a stairs down, so may not be the best for those who may have difficulties with that. Great first time experience & would give it a second go to explore more

The place is nice, simple but effective and the customer service was good, the only downside was that the we didn't manage to get many answers about the dishes because the waiter was fairly new I think. Food was great and unfortunately some dishes might not be in the menu anymore, but the fish was absolutely the highlight of the dinner. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to have a nice dinner and try something different.

Been a few times now, we love it. Tried a few of the veg pitas and the fish. Husband loves the burger one with egg and pickles and the bag of meat. 100% get the bag of beans… I love the herb salad the bread croutons with the dressing is yum. Great as a date night or bigger group to try more variety. He also likes the choc mouse for dessert. 5/5 every time.

The cauliflower is really good. I also had a roasted lamb pita. The pita bread is the best I've had, and the combination of lamb and pickles is so tasty. Unfortunately, the pita is not hot, which I think would make it even tastier.

The food was delicious. Some meat dishes like the meat bag and shawarma were a bit dry but it’s still good experience. Tip: if you’d like to sit in a quieter area sit outside because inside is quite loud. And be ready many dishes are served in a paper bag like in a takeaway kiosk maybe that’s the theme because “Miznon” means kiosk in Hebrew.

Loved the flavours of Miznon on our recent mid winter as we have done on previous visits. We tried all the essentials including roasted cauliflower, pumpkin, bag of beans which were all perfect for the vegetarians on our table. The bag of meat was just that… chunky brisket and onions in a bag. We tried three salads including the underwhelming calamari salad. The standout salad was pita salad because of the amazing tomatoes. As a venue I knew it was rustic although some of our friends didn’t and we’re taken aback by food being serviced in rectangles of cardboard rather than plates. We booked a table in the middle of winter so had just assumed it would have been inside but ended up being giving a table too small for the group outside which was not adequate for space but fortunately was a mild night so had plenty of hardware lane atmosphere… just none of the Miznon inside theatrics.

Great spot on Hardware Lane for a quick feed. The pita pockets are so soft and tasty. It’s also pretty difficult to go past an item named ‘bag of meat’ - delicious brisket and onion, grab some extra pita offcuts and load it up with tahini and brisket to level it up. Efficient service with delicious food. Grab a seat at the counter and watch the crew at work.

The chicken pita was fine. I wish it was spicier and more flavourful. Too much yogurt for my liking. The lamb on the bone was good. The starter with chickpea, pita and chilli was also OK. The service was non existent. No plates, cutlery or water was given at any stage. I don’t need to ask for the plates at a restaurant. May be some dishes are better than the other. It’s worth trying once.

A casual dining place with excellent food! I’ve had Miznon in NYC, Singapore and Melbourne. None of the branches letting me down but if Melbourne Miznon able to serve a pre pita bread and small tahini dip like Singapore will be even better! Friendly staff with appropriate pricing on a bustling lane. Love the vibes!

Great Israeli cuisine in Hardware Lane. The food was fantastic, standouts were the eggplant & lamb kebab, bag of meat, and schnitzel Malka. We ordered share plates with pita offcuts, rather than individual pitas. Order via QR code at the table & food is brought to you but we found not everything came at the same time - pita arrived first, then schnitzel and carpaccio, then eggplant at the end. The only downside to our experience was the atmosphere is a bit confusing due to the loud speakers playing early 2000s club hits and an already very crowded restaurant so everyone is yelling to talk.

One of the restaurants I've missed most during Melbourne's multiple COVID lockdowns, it was incredible to be able to dine at Miznon again. The ingredients at Miznon are always very fresh, and I can't fault any dish I've had there. The Golden Fish pita and Sac de Coq are my regular orders. The Bag of Green Beans is also a side worth ordering. The Baby Cauliflower is quite generous in size, so it is best to be shared amongst a few. The atmosphere at Miznon is always buzzing and definitely a great catchup spot!

Delicious lunch time pitas with a wide range of fillings from vege options to more. The staff were nice and you can enjoy a nice meal right there.

The falafel pita is amazing and the baby cauliflower is so cool that’s a must order in this place. It’s like every table order that! It’s really good and all the tomatoes everywhere looks so cute thanks for the good food.

Wow! Just wow! Read all the reviews on Google and just had to come here myself. My partner and I enjoyed this place so much we came back 2x on our short trip. The beef, and the lamb varients are absolutely delicious. Our friend had the fish and really enjoyed that! Will be back once we relocate to Melbourne! See you soon ❤️

ORDERED: 🥙  Pita with a bone: Lamb rib stew, tahini, pickles, onion, chili ($19.00) 🥦  Baby Cauliflower ($21.00) I paid $26.00 for my portion, where we split the baby cauliflower between three. REVIEW: ✔️ I've frequented Miznon over several years. The quality is consistent so you always know you'll be fed well for a very reasonable price. They've migrated to a QR ordering system but you can still order from the counter if you don't have reception downstairs (like we did!). ✔️ Pita with a bone is my go-to. Tender soft lamb rib with a bone that pulls out and a sauciness that drips down your fingers. It's a little messy (which I'm not a fan of), but it's a concoction that provides the pita with some light flavour. ➖  The cauliflower is an iconic piece. It's roasted so you get crispy leaf pieces and charred florets, but it doesn't go as hard in salting all the way through as it used to. Nonetheless, you can request for extra salt (once you get to the stems) for that extra kick of saltiness and flavour. Considering Miznon is an international chain and how it's been in Melbourne since 2017, it has assimilated and truly feels Melbournian at the heart of hardware lane.

Went on Saturday night and the street was buzzing with people. We got a table outside to people-watch, and enjoy the busker. The pita were all so good! Would come back to try other dishes

Normally just order a la carte or get a delicious pita for takeaway. This time, we did the $65 per person feed me menu and it came with all the food!!!! It was never ending- such good value for money including favourites of mine such as the cauliflower, wagyu and more.

Miznon is always popular and busy. The ambience was unfortunately not existent, it was very loud and I can barely hear my friend sitting opposite me. Food was pretty tasty but I was surprised some of them were served in a paper pouch. The meat bag was unfortunately quite dry and the pita bread was lukewarm. Our second order of additional pita bread as a side took over 30 mins to come, and our first attempt to enquire its status was met with a disinterested answer that it will arrive when it is our turn. The cauliflower was overcooked and too soft that it crumbled when we tried to eat it. The eggplant was well-grilled and quite delicious. The chicken salad was quite good with a sour tinge and has some fried potatoes on top of the salad; dig in to the bottom to find the chicken bits. I’m not sure I’ll be back again. Miznon in Singapore and Israel was more satisfying.

Great joint for pita and Israeli affair. Nice and quick service and cozy ambience. The roasted cauliflower’s great, and the beef pitas are good too.
