One of my favourite Italian restaurant in the city. Everything is aways good. If you couldn’t get a reservation online, please go to the restaurant to put your name down. Best to do late lunch after 2 pm .. you will definitely won’t wait too long . Don’t forget to try their risotto truffle pasta :)

Finally tried Melbourne’s famous pasta bar, Tipo 00 (after many failed attempts at securing a booking) - and I gotta say, the pasta here is seriously some of the best you can get! Honestly don’t think you can go wrong with any dish on their menu, but some of my top picks would be the Zucchini flower stuffed with spanner crab (only on their special menu though!), their famous Squid ink tagliolini (this one’s a MUST TRY), and the Tipomisu for dessert (really strong coffee flavour and not overly sweet - a must for coffee lovers!).

Perfectly cooked pasta, as expected, beautiful sauces, the lingua ox tongue was delicious tender and so so tasty! Calamari was beautifully paired with fennel and mussel that was YUMMY! Zucchini flowers were fine, nothing amazing, could definitely have used more flavor. Squid ink pasta was definitely my favorite and well worth the recommendation, so much taste of the ocean in one plate. Beautiful plates of food overall and well flavored.

Had a fantastic family dinner here. Service was knowledgeable and fun, adding to the experience. Food was awesome, maybe the best food we have had this year. Skilfully adapted to dietary/preferences. We had the set menu which had an abundance of different dishes and enough food to satiate anyone. Lobe the wines too, by the glass. Will be back, thanks team.

I recently dined at this Italian restaurant and it was a delightful experience. The pasta dishes were cooked to perfection, and the main focus of the dish was always the pasta itself, which was a refreshing change from other Italian restaurants. The service was top-notch, our waiter went above and beyond to accommodate us by moving our table outside and splitting our pasta dish without even being asked. The ambience was cozy and welcoming with a friendly staff and an open kitchen. The menu had a variety of options to choose from, and I was pleasantly surprised with the unique flavors and textures each dish offered. It was clear that the chef took great care in preparing every dish that came out of the kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant and suggest making a reservation in advance. It may seem a little on the pricier side, but trust me, the quality of the food and the attentive service make it worth it. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious pasta dishes and enjoy the warm atmosphere once again.

Absolutely delicious food and a great drinks menu. However, it took almost 30 minutes after we finished our entree for the main to come out. I was so hungry! 😔

Finally made it to Tipo 00 after a few trips to Melbourne! Fantastic Italian cuisine, pasta was perfectly cooked and served. The stuffed courgette flower special was also amazing!

Sat outdoors with a table of 4 a few weeks ago. Compared to previous visits, the pasta this time was slightly underseasoned which impacted the overall flavour of the dish - in particular the Moreton Bay Bug pasta which made is a bit bland. Texture though was cooked on point. Service was also generally attentive. Hopefully it's improved again the future.

Amazing Course Meal Caught by surprise how amazing the entire course set. The arancini is amazing, the squid pasta is incredible and that Gnocchi is to die for. Great service all around. Friendly staffs and open kitchen set up just seal the atmosphere. Get lost in the amazing small yet comfy restaurant

Came here with a group for lunch and we each ordered a different pasta so we could try as much of the menu as we could. Everything was delicious! I got the squid ink pasta which was perfectly cooked and so tasty, but my surprise favourite was their risotto - this coming from someone who will rarely order risotto! We walked in right at opening to ensure we got a table and the place filled up for lunch. Make a booking if you can! I can see why it’s so popular

Managed to get an outdoor seat during lunchtime. Ordered the pappardelle and tagliolini to share and both were equally impressive. Served al dente, the squid ink flavour infused in the tagliolini was a breath of fresh air and the duck ragu with pappardelle was pure bliss. Only wished the portions were bigger!

WHAT DELICIOUS FOOD. My partner and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary here with the Chef's Menu. We've done many chef/feed me menus at other restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. 2 snacks, 2 starts, 2 pastas, a side, and 2 desserts. We also received our own individual bowls for each pasta. We found the servings to be quite generous compared to other chef menus. The dessert is the best I've ever had 😍

We walked in to Tipo00 on a Tuesday night as regular foot traffic, and were able to secure a table either inside or outside. We opted to dine outside. Oysters were fresh, and the red wine vinaigrette complimented them well. The Squid was also nice, with the standout being the charred tentacles. Mains were very generous servings, with both of us just barely able to finish our meals. The pricing is also excellent, for the calibre of food being served, Tipo00 is consistently cheaper than competitors. My one complaint would be that dining on the table closest to Elizabeth St, it can be hard to see your food. The only source of light comes from behind, so you end up blocking the light.

I was so excited in trying out Tipo 00 upon seeing all the positive reviews but my experience was underwhelmed. The portions were small for the price point and there wasn’t anything outstanding about the flavors. Some of the dish was really salty. I really enjoyed the Sea Urchin Risotto but that was the only dish out of everything we ordered. The service was just okay. My entire dining experience felt rushed.

🖤 tagliolini al nero 🌼 zucchini flower w/ crab meat 🐟 fish w/ cone cabbage, white wine & mustard 🍩 bomboloni 🏠: @tipo00 📍: Little Bourke St, CBD 📝: Finally, after three years in Melbourne, I got to try out Melbourne’s famous pasta restaurant, Tipo 00. So many people have recommended this place, but I never got the chance to visit. Saw no hope in booking for a dinner session (fully booked for the rest of the month), so we got a lunch booking instead. A cozy and busy place in the midst of the CBD. ❤️: We got the signature 🖤🍝 Tagliolini al nero—squid ink tagliolini with squid and bottarga. I really loved the special appetizer of 🌼 Zucchini Flower with 🦀 Crab Meat though. Once of my favorites of the meal. Nevertheless, the ultimate highlight for me was the dessert. We got the 🍩 Bomboloni—ricotta doughnuts with white chocolate and passionfruit. They were AMAZING and a must order for every visit 🤤.

Excellent service and food! The waiters/waitresses were highly attentive and we didn't need to wait long for our food. Between a group of 4 adults, we ordered: STARTERS: 1. Focaccia (this was a complementary starter) 2. Ox tongue - recommended 👌 (absolutely loved this, in no way would you expect it to look/taste the way it did. It felt like I was eating premium thinly sliced Wagyu) 3. Ostriche (freshly shucked oysters, the balsamic vinegar definitely gave a nice kick of flavour) PASTA: 4. Tortellini with truffle - recommended 👌 (the truffle was a chef's special that day, the dish had a generous amount of truffle and the tortellini. - highly recommend this) 5. Tagliolini Al Nero (Squid ink pasta, it was a light pasta, the squid was cooked to perfection) 6. Parpadelle (Honestly I couldn't tell this was rabbit, nonetheless it was cheesy, flavourful and saucy) 7. Gnocchi - recommended 👌 (Absolutely loved the duck and gnocchi, they were so well cooked!)

Wow!!! Some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had and the most incredible service! Definitely book in advance (well in advance) or hope to sit at the bar. I entrusted my selections to the server, who was incredibly knowledgeable, gracious and kind. I had the crudo (luxurious), gnocchi (unbelievable) and cheesecake (literally the best dessert I’ve ever had). I’m so happy, what a great experience!

The restaurant is always fully booked and we were lucky to be able to walk in. We had the squid ink pasta and gnocchi with braised duck. The gnocchi was alright but the squid ink pasta was pretty bland to us that day although we saw that it was highly recommended online so we were pretty disappointed. Their complimentary bread was good though.

Lived up to its reputation. Wonderful place, great food. Needed to wait for nearly an hour, but worth the wait. Went for the chiefs choice and got a good variety. Three starters, two pasta dishes and one and a half desert. Liked not having to choose; just sat back and enjoyed the experience. Can sit at the bar, but we chose the shared table.

A local recommended this place. Had walked past many times and not given it a second thought. So glad we went in. Industrial feel. Concrete floors but sound is not a problem as there’s things on the walls to buffer noise out and make the acoustics better. Service is fast, professional, friendly and efficient. Menu is not complicated.

Tipp00 is a fabulous Italian restaurant with amazing food and service. You feel like part of their family (if you are a regular). The complimentary bread and cheese is perfect. We love trying all the handmade pastas. The rabbit is a must order and their small plates are all very good too. Finish with the tiramisu. In June they also had truffle (seasonal) risotto. Heaven.

Tipo00 is a small Italian restaurant in the heart of Melbourne. It is a must visit!! We ordered 2 entrees, 4 mains and 2 desserts plus drinks between two people!! We originally ordered a lot less however the food was too good to stop! We recommend the beef tartare, the pastas, tipomisu and pannacotta! The dishes were full of flavour and outstanding. The service was wonderful and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Everything was also very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning, highly recommend!

Contemporary Italian dining in the CBD. Food: 8.6/10 Cocktails: 8.5/10 Service: 9/10 Ambience: 8/10 Had a great meal from entrees, mains to dessert. Dishes were flavourful, unique and ingredients were fresh and high quality. Ambience was a cozy, bar-like feel that doesn’t pretend to be anything too fancy. Great service. Overall would recommend to give it a try! Be sure to book a table early in advance. There are a few spots reserved for walk-in but they would be gone very quickly.

AMAZING FOOD. Came here for dinner at the last minute and luckily they had a table open at 5:15 pm - by the time the food arrived the place was packed. Very unique flavors and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I especially recommend the rigatoni and the squid ink pasta. Reasonably priced and would absolutely return again.

Delish!!! We could not fault any of the meals we had and the service was exceptional and personal. We rarely tip but we had to tip this service, it was really great. A highlight was the truffle mushroom risotto, it really hit the mark. Only critique is that the portions were a little small for the price, especially if you are sharing, overall, would recommend and will definitely be back. ❤️❤️

One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne and super glad we managed to get a booking again before we went back home to Sydney!! Loved every single dish we had and glad to have tried the truffle risotto special which tasted amazinggggg. As always, every pasta dish was a hit. The ox tongue was also tender and the charred flavour grill gave it a great flavour. The sea bream crudo special was also delicious.

Food was excellent as always!! Very consistent in their cooking and also cooking delicious pastas! Just came back from Italy/Florence and I still think Tipo00 pasta’s overall more flavourful than most Italian places! Must trys: 1. grilled ox tongue, balsamic & pink peppercorn 2. Spaghettini — Skull Island tiger prawns, anchovies & broccolini 3. Gnocchi di patate — braised duck, porcini & pecorino pepato The tiramisu wasn’t impressive - the classic tiramisu is way more delicious than their modern version of tiramisu! So def don’t recommend this.

The overwhelming taste and mouthfeel of boiling pasta are perfect. The special dish, Linguini pasta, is the best I've ever had. We sat at the bar table, and the slightly visible kitchen made the waiting time less boring. The portions feel a bit small, but I think it's because the food is so delicious. However, the male server in charge of our table was very rude, and the table service was worse than what you'd expect at a regular cafe. Most of the female servers were meticulous and provided decent service. It's a place where you'd want to try all kinds of pasta! But I wouldn't want to visit again if there's a male server.

It’s a few hits and misses with Tipo 00. Foods were outstanding, really deserve all the hype and everything. I had the best gnocchi ever! Service? not so much! We left feeling awkward because we loved the foods very much but the quirk rudeness of the staffs can’t be overlooked too. Hopefully they will improve the quality of the overall experience.

Absolutely one of the best eateries in Melbourne. Authentic Italian, innovative, and delicious food. Great Italian beverages to boot. Not that it needs another good review as it is a highly respected restaurant. All I can say is book early and wait for the treat. You won't be disappointed.

Melbourne's finest pasta spot. Securing a reservation is challenging due to its small size and immense local popularity. Fortunately, we've dined here four times, three of which were spontaneous walk-ins with a short wait. The pasta is exceptional, showcasing the chef's creativity with each dish offering a multi-layered experience and a symphony of flavors. We mostly opted for the chef's plate (around $90) and have never left disappointed.

Securing a reservation at this highly acclaimed restaurant was no easy feat, but every effort was rewarded during our lunchtime visit. Our waiter exemplified professionalism, attentiveness, and expertise, flawlessly guiding us through the menu and catering to our every need with finesse. For starters, we indulged in a delectable array of oysters accompanied by a perfectly paired red wine mignonette, alongside tender octopus that was expertly prepared. Moving on to the pasta course, the truffle risotto was a standout, boasting a rich and creamy texture with a generous shaving of truffles that elevated the dish to new heights. Equally impressive was the Wagyu beef pasta, featuring melt-in-your-mouth beef paired harmoniously with al dente pasta in a savory sauce. To conclude our culinary journey on a high note, we savored the tiramisu dessert, which was nothing short of divine, with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and velvety mascarpone creating a heavenly symphony of flavors. From start to finish, this dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, leaving a lasting impression and making every moment worth the effort to secure a reservation.

We were unable to secure a reservation for lunch but were able to walk in and secure a table after a short wait. The restaurant was busy, and after dining here we could understand why the restaurant was so populer. The pasta was outstanding - fresh, al dente and with some fantastic flavour combinations. We had the Paccheri (which is vegetarian) and the Tagliolini al nero. Both were delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly.

My family and I visited Tipo 00 during our stay in Melbourne as it was highly recommended to us by our cousin. Tipo 00 definitely makes the best pasta in Melbourne, we tried the grilled ox tongue, several pasta dishes and the Tipomisu. Been visiting Melbourne for almost a decade now, with Tipo 00 being a place I always wanted to try ... The opportunity to eat there came up today and now I can definitely understand why people rave on about it! Had the spaghetti with scampi and mussels which was very delicious, and they offered extra bread after I finished eating to soak up the pasta sauce with it. Will definitely try and drop by again to try more of their dishes next Melbourne trip!

just amazing flavours!! I love how the pasta sauces are not overpowering. Had the creamy truffle special pasta and the sauce was to die for, subtle truffle taste and I don't feel bad eating it as it wasn't just fully cream like other pastas I've had. The avocado and cherries complement very well with the ceviche. Meats just melted in my mouth. Service was excellent.

Intimate and buzzing vibes in this small Italian pasta bar. Had the chef's menu for $70 and all the dishes were full of flavours and well executed! The standout was the squid ink linguine, so much flavour and pasta and squid was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this place for small gatherings or dining on your own.

Perfectly made pasta every single time, every single plate. Texture, flavour, seasoning all perfectly balanced with the freshest ingredient. The wine list is extensive, and reasonably priced for what it is. Service is efficient, friendly and warm. I brought an important overseas client there and he was very impressed. After the meal, i lost my receipt and was in panic mode. I emailed them and the staff was so helpful that they comb through all their receipts of the night and found my receipt, took a photo and emailed it to me. This is exceptional service and they now have me as a customer for life. All praise to tipo 00

Insta: melbfoodie_mark YT: MelbFoodieMark ** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne! - WTH! It took me 2 months to get a table reservation.. I don't mind waiting that long if food's good. Unfortunately, this high-profile restaurant didn't meet my expectation. I had Gnocchi di patate, Tagliolini Al Nero, and Tipomisu. Gnocchi was fluffy and came with savory braised duck and squid ink pasta was cooked to perfection with refreshing lemony kick. They were all decent, well-balanced dishes... just not as impressive as I anticipated. I found them dull and service definitely had some room for improvement. I personally wouldn't recommend this place - felt like it's hyped up too much

We visited Tipo a couple of days before lockdown of Restaurants. We have always enjoyed the food and service and this time was no different. I really hope that the restaurant survives this incredible upheaval of society and hope to dine there again once the world has beaten the virus.

  • 5/5 Swell T. 3 years ago on Google
When you hear famous chefs raving about a restaurant you want to give them a go, so I did. When in lockdown, you are at the mercy of the food delivery driver and hope that the food arrives in one piece or not looking too much like a dog's breakfast! :) But in the end, it comes down to taste. What I ordered: Foccacia - a few slices with a dipping sauce [enough for my lunch the next day]. Gnocchi di Patate - not a fan of gnocchi normally, but this braised duck with porcini mushrooms and pecorino [type of cheese] gnocchi were a light and fluffy match made in gastronomical heaven. Polenta chips - lightly dusted with rosemary salt with a crunchy texture. Tipomisu - a decadent indulgence of chocolate, mascarpone and coffee - almost like a classy layered biscuit. All up $66 - this included a tip and delivery fee. Very reasonable for a meal to share or to have alone. In summary, the food was tasty, a generous serving, filling and enticing enough for me to want to order again and visit the venue once we get to some form of normalcy.

Excellent and authentic Italian food. They also have a fireplace at the back where it's quite nice and warm over winter. All the pastas are excellent with quality pasta and ingredients. Good portion sizes and amazing clean and well done flavours. Lunch specials and course menus are excellent and would recommend going from entire through to desserts. Only thing would be maybe consider doing some mocktails or drinks for those that do not or cannot drink - it realistically you're in an Italian restaurant - so you got to drink. What wine they do have is excellent and have a great range and variety. Well deserved

Well it's a hard place to get into but we went early just before 5 and had no problem. This place has so many 5 star reviews and is such a little gem we had to eat here while visiting Melbourne. It was also recommended by some locals so expectations were high and met. Very friendly staff and great service. Food was outstanding.

We purchased the prepare at home food, the Wagyu Rigatoni, Focaccia and for dessert the Tipomisu. Ordering was simple and easy as was collection. The instructions were emailed through and really easy to follow. The food in short was amazing and we have missed eating in the restaurant! Take advantage of the opportunity to try food from a hard to visit in normal time restaurant. Thank you Tipo 00

The place was busy when we arrived and staff helpfully directed to the bar next door whilst they sorted out a table. When the table became available a staff member came next door to advise us. Staff were really friendly, the scallops starter was delicious as was the Moreton bay bug risotto. The doughnuts to finish were fab, all washed down with decent wine and liqueurs. A great meal and good value. Highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) Frozen chives dumplings and chives dumplings were delivered. The chives dumplings were not bad but the meat was slightly stronger. The chives dumplings were very ordinary. (Original) 外送了冷凍韭黃水餃和韭菜水餃,韭黃水餃還不錯但肉味稍濃,韭菜水餃很普通。

Cozy and vibrant restaurant. friendly and efficient staff. You can see the chefs at work in the kitchen. Absolutely loved the flavour of the spaghetti with truffle and porcini. Everything is authentic Italian and all pasta is homemade.

Easily one of the best pasta places in Melbourne! I got the spiral type pasta with Italian sauasage, herbs, red cabbage, olive oil, a touch of chilli etc This place is also good because the dishes are not too small. The wine list is good and has delicious Italian wines, I got the Nebbiolo. They serve some complimentary slices of toasted bread with a bit of goats cheese of the plate ??

The place to come for pasta. Chef menu leaves you wanting more. An extra dish perhaps. Next time just order pasta. It’s cooked to perfection. Desert was an excellent finish to the meal. Back again all day long.

Delicious, great experience. Came into the city to make use of the Melbourne money rebate and chose Tipo as it was highly recommended. Did not disappoint! Pastas were simple with few ingredients but so delicious, exactly the way they should be. Entrees of artichoke and Buffalo mozzarella were good too. Salad I found a bit too sour. Service was attentive without being too disruptive. The restaurant itself it small and cosy without being too cramped. Highly recommended for the pasta. Would definitely go back.

Really great atmosphere, quality fine food without the pretentious fine dining vibe. Ordered the Risotto with sea urchin and finger lime and honestly could be one of the best risottos I’ve had in my life. Perfect consistency with added textures of urchin and zingy bursts of lime was delightful. Gnocchi was also perfect. Service was as expected, and waiters generally attentive. Book in advance or walk ins, if not too busy may get a seat at the bar (which is not too bad a seat). Will be back to try more!

Possibly my favourite pasta restaurant in Melbourne. Never fails to impress. On this time, we ordered: - lingua: so soft, tasty - calamari: nice - carciofi: nice although pricey for quantity - squid ink tagliolini: one of my fav dishes - gnocchi duck: my other fav dish. Best gnocchi in town, so soft - wagyu mafalde special: really tasty, huge portions - tipomisu: not bad, although prefer the more traditional tiramisu - bomboloni: tasty

3.5 I would say. Good service. Might be my expectation was set too high. The food was just alright. Tiramisu was interesting to try though :)

An unbelievable experience - the best night in Melbourne on an Monday without a doubt! The seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection, the vegetables were seasonal and crunchy and the pasta was literally to die for. Bonnie's service was outstanding - her recommendations on the food and wine were spot on, I can't praise her enough. An all round 5☆ dining experience on a night where everywhere else was closed. Just go here - you won't regret it!

Amazing food. The speed of the food coming was just nice- not too quick or slow and we came when it was around 8:40pm, full house on Christmas Eve. 3 of us tried the Chef’s menu and we did not know what to expect as we were not told what is to come. Every dish was very well- balanced with flavour. My personal favourite was the Ox-tongue and the desserts (panna cotta & tipomisu)

  • 3/5 Alicia T. 1 year ago on Google
pasta felt pretty average. The appetizer (ox tongue) was better compared to the mains. I had pretty high expectations of the place given the glowing reviews I see here, but we left disappointed. Both of our pasta (squid ink & Gippsland rabbit pasta) were hard texture wise and felt lacklustre. The rabbit meat was okay, but the pasta was hard. Went to have another round of dinner after this.

Absolutely incredible and exceeded already high expectations!! Even better than some food we had in Italy! Have been meaning to try Tipo 00 for ages from recommendations and reputation and didn’t think it was possible to blow our minds and palates with such high expectations - but it definitely did!! Ox tongue was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted - cooked to perfection and seasoning enhanced to new heights. Big shout out to the team - I had a minor medical episode that required paramedics to be called, and the Tipo team was so supportive and caring despite me interrupting their service :( not just dishing out incredible food and service, but clearly running a team of wonderful caring humans ❤️ I will definitely be back many times over and bringing everyone I know here :)

Amongst all the Italian restaurants/ restaurants serving Italian dishes that I've been to, this has to be so far one of the most delicious in a long while. The dishes were well balanced, and I loved the texture of the pasta. I really felt that with the pasta dishes I ordered (the tagliatelle and spaghettini), the main attraction was the pasta itself and the ingredients around it were simply the supporting elements. Also, I really appreciated the service, especially the particular waiter who satisfied my request to move to dining outside when the table was vacant. Also, without me asking, he had one of our pasta dishes split into two plates as he noticed my wife and I were sharing each dish. He truly gave an amazing service and it just added to the experience, so I'd like to say thank you. Overall, although it may seem that it's a little on the pricier end, the quality and symphony of flavours made it worth while.

I've heard much hype for this restaurant and had the chance to try it tonight. It is a small restaurant so you will be sitting very close to your neighbours indoors or if you're sitting outside - enjoy the oncoming traffic and deer in head lights as you dine here. Ordered the Gnocchi, Rigatoni, squid ink pasta and the special pasta (rabbit meat) plus a couple of entrees and sides. Dsappointed with the Rigatoni and squid ink pasta. The Rigatoni pasta is undercooked and ruined the dish. The squid ink pasta was just overpowered garlic flavour and small proportion. I will say the gnocchi was done well and tasty. Do have a sneaky suspicion that the pasta is not made fresh. Overall, not the best experience and have had better Italian in Sydney - Little Sicily.

Grilled ox tongue and pork belly are good, but pasta is not even average. Attitude of waiters and waitresses is kind of weird too. The bartender is very nice tho. Space in the restaurant is very limited and confined.

  • 5/5 S. T. 9 months ago on Google
I can’t even begin to describe how good the pasta is here. The flavours and textures mesh so well, and rest assured, the pasta is cooked al dente. It was so good, we had to come twice. Their specials change periodically so watch out for those! We had one of their mainstays on the menu which is the beef rigatoni. We came back for it twice! We also had the truffle risotto and ox tongue carpaccio which were both lovely. It’s a small restaurant so seats are limited. And reservations fill up about a month in advance and will require a $100 holding fee. My advice (if you can) is to visit at off peak times. We went twice during our 1-week trip to Melbourne and never had to wait. We went once at 2.30pm (after the lunch crowd) and once at 11.30am (right when they open).

This place was full of business types pre COVID but now full of tourists. Fortunately the food has not suffered too much. Delicious sauces on the food combined with perfectly cooked pasta. The “polpo” entree was a standout as were both mains…. the special bug tagliolini and the menu listed duck gnocchi both delicious and excellent. The portion sizes are slightly on the small size but if you are not worried about the high prices here it means you can eat more!! Unfortunately the wait staff were not up to the level of the excellent food, being quite indifferent to supplying any kind of service whatsoever….. only seeing them when food was served. At these prices you would expect a higher level of service. The atmosphere was rustic and noisy with hard surfaces bouncing sound around. Overall worth a visit if you are in the area but at these prices you have other excellent choices in Melbourne.

The hype is real! I thoroughly enjoyed the food here at Tipo 00. Perfectly al dente pasta, deep flavours and fresh produce. Highly recommend the ox tongue, squid ink pasta and the most exquisite Tipomisu! They are really busy even on a weekday, so make sure to book ahead. And the dining room is very cosy with tables quite close together, which could work for an intimate meal between groups of 2 to 4.

We got really lucky with a walk in and got one of the last tables available. Within wanted to try this place and the pasta did not disappoint. Would have to say that the appetisers were the star of the show, unfortunately the risotto was a little undercooked. Also, the squid ink pasta was amazing. Really liked the Bombolini too. Two of us ate 3 appetisers, 1 side, and 4 carb dishes!!! Oh, the lengua was really well done.

Amazing dining experience. Place was packed but we were lucky enough to score a table outside. Heater was running and it wasn’t too cold. Food was amazing. The entrees as well as the mains. We had: Salami 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 extremely delicious and my favourite appetiser. Lingua, ox tongue 🔥🔥🔥🔥 good and full of flavour Barbebietola🔥🔥🔥🔥delicious but portion could have been a little bigger. Mains were Tortelli, Tagliolini and Mafaldine of which all were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 but again, portion size was a little small. Loved the spicy and seasoning on all dishes - it was perfect. All in all a good night out and totally worth it!

The food exceeded my already high expectations. I’ll be back again for sure. They’ve really nailed the texture on some of these dishes. Service was really good but slow at times. However once you got the waiters attention, they were really attentive and full of great suggestions.

Such an incredible little venue with outstanding chefs. Every dish we ordered was delicious. We didn't have a booking but went as soon as they opened, and were lucky enough to get a table.

Managed to get a walk in on the 30th. The atmosphere is cosy and casual which would make it a great spot for solo diners also. We went with the set menu which we did not know the contents of. It ended up being a reasonable choice with a range of dishes. If I was to eat here again I would likely just pick from the menu though. Service was attentive but not over the top (in a good way). All in all a nice place to eat.

Amazing....can't fault.....10/10. Service was amazing, Shaheeb ( sorry if I butchered your name), he was perfect. Amazing service from him ! Food and wine was just.......excellent. So much flavour, all well seasoned. We will definitely be back. Note: parking is awful - but its little bourke so dont expect to get a parking there lol. We parked on queen street which was a short walk to tipo. There is limited seating so book in advance.
