Great South American steakhouse. Wagyu skirt steak (pictured, already half eaten) was a standout. It's a great atmosphere with warm romantic lighting, and lounge style Spanish music in the background. We chose a set menu which was brought as 5 courses over an hour and a half. The staff weren't under the pump while we were there but still prompt, as well as discreet. The beef Empanada and Fugazzeta were a little bland, but every other dish had great flavours, good portions and overall I was extremely satisfied. Also tip - Malbec is a great red to pair with steak

Amazing food, the calamari done in the Parilla was so tender, one of the best I've had and the kingfish sashimi was fresh with a perfect balance of flavours. My husband had the Wagyu which he said was absolutely beautiful. Staff were very attentive and informative. We will definitely be back.

Food is amazing and so is the service. Music is a little loud but the rest is perfection. Don't miss the Chorizo and if you have a sweet tooth.... The Dulce de Leche Tiramisu is a must.

I was fairly under dressed for this place, so it was a good location to hang out. The Skirt steak was great. Good flavor. Perfectly cooked. I tried the chimichurri because it was also served. It was nice, but unneeded in my opinion. Carrots were delightful. Good texture and presentation. Just enough of a sauce on it.

Jeremy, the chef on the grill, is a bloody legend. We had front row seats spectating his amazing craftsmanship at the grill. Such a stone cold pro. Ollie was supervising with perfection. Food was exceptional, as always. Whole front of house were a slick operation, appropriate amount of engagement.

Our shared starters of octopus; pork & paprika sausage and fried provolone cheese were excellent and greatly enjoyed. The mains of roast chicken and wagyu skirt steak with a side of carrots served on an eggplant puree with an almond and brown butter dressing were all cooked to perfection.

We landed in this place with a random decison while drinking. Best decision under the influence though. One of the best steaks you will ever eat. Everything we had was good. The taste comes with a price.

You can tell by the photos, this place is all about meat. Very good quality meat, cooked by a bunch of people who knows it well and of course to be served to hungry customers like me. I would definitely recommend you to drop by here for a feed. Most dishes are for sharing so perhaps a table of four will be most perfect. The service is as impeccable as the food.

What a fantastic night at Palermo! Everything was top notch. The food was exquisite and full of flavour, especially the tiramisu which was divine. A great menu that can be shared and enjoyed with a group of friends. The service was exceptional, with helpful and friendly advice on the menu. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

Super classy fine dining place! Been here several times! You won't find better steak anywhere in Melbourne. Perfect for a date night or to impress visitors. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

I celebrated my birthday here. The food was well prepared and very presentable and tasty. The steak was absolutely the best when paired with a glass of Malbec. The service and food & wine recommendations from the waiter is the highlight of the night. Will definitely come back again anytime.

Awesome place, the staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We had a bit of almost everything on the menu and everything we ordered was delicious. Definitely will be coming back to Palermo. ????

Great food. We booked for table of 10 and were well looked after by the friendly hospitality of the staff. The $110 set menu was fantastic selection of various meat dishes. Vegetarian are also catered for. Definitely would come back again.

This restaurant is of the highest standard. We’ve ordered ‘heat at home’ food from them 3 times now (during covid) and every time it’s been exceptional. We particularly like the empanadas and the steak/lamb dishes they serve. The customer service is also very friendly.

  • 5Evan S. 8 months ago
Absolutely sensational, for both eat in (when not under COVID restrictions), or when receiving home delivery. Have had the pleasure of eating the food from this venue twice and both times it was absolutely great - and I am a fussy eater. I have even lived in Argentina for a short period, and it brought back so many memories. Very authentic. Staff were attentive and friendly too. Highly recommended.

One of our new favourites!! Last minute decision to dine out on a Friday night. We went to Palermo when San Telmo was fully booked and recommended by them. So glad they did! The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing, yet you could feel the element of fine dining in the atmosphere and in the service you get. The service was spot on and our waiter took the time to explain the concept of Palermo and a bit of history behind the name of the restaurant. He then took the time to go through each section of the menu and explain which Argentinian oven/open flame the meals were done on. And the food was next level! The meat was incredibly tender, the empanadas full of flavour and crunchy, vegetables for the sides were delicious and dessert was the BEST ive had in a very long time anywhere! Highly recommend the flan!! Palermo is definitely at the top of our list of favourites!

    Gorgeous meal. Great service.

Palermo delivered as always this weekend. The food was great, atmosphere was good without being busy due to covid restrictions and they provided a great varied set menu which delivered on all fronts. You never feel rushed in there and Juan who was looking after us was fantastic as always. Best steak joint in Melbourne and one of the best restaurants in Melbourne.

  • 5Toby T. 10 months ago
We had the $90 set menu and were thoroughly pleased with all of the dishes. Some set menus usually have some subpar dishes, but every meal was lovely. The chorizo sausage and tiramisu are a must try!

  • 5Jessica G. 10 months ago
This restaurant in the city was a great choice! A bit on the expensive side, but worth the price for an Argentinian steakhouse in Melbourne. The portions were big enough for two, and served within an appropriate amount of time to each other. We booked in with a set menu which didn’t have any room for dietary needs/preferences (although they did ask us before we sat down). The steak was a solid medium-rare so keep that in mind if you like your steak cooked differently. The dulce de leche tiramisu was delicious and a great way to end the evening. The waiters were super friendly and ours in particular made sure our water was always topped up.

Beautiful food, excellent service and the best Spanish BBQ Meat you'll get in Melbourne. Thank you to Paul our waiter. The crew from CIGWELD will be back.

  • 4Ian L. 1 year ago
Ceviche and morcilla were excellent, as was the flan. The meat and drinks were ok. The upstairs part of the restaurant gets unpleasantly smoky periodically. The service was really good.

The food was good but not great, took two and half hours for service and then the deserts weren't available. And the service was not good.

TT and I wanted to try Palermo because of its great reviews, but sadly we left disappointed. It’s probably a 2.5 ⭐️ but I won’t give it a 3 Star. First of all, the place isn’t packed when we arrived nor was it full when we left, yet we got seated right next to another table, and someone else got seated next to us. A few people complained and got seated elsewhere but seriously, there is no need to pack us like sardines. We ordered the cured meat. It came with pickles, bread that’s dotted with potatoes and three variety of meat. It was yummy. 4/5 yummy. So what went wrong? The suckling pig croquette went wrong. Oozing with fat, it was not tasty at all. Thank goodness we only ordered one to share. The beef ribs went wrong. It was seriously chewy- we expected melt in your mouth goodness. The salad and octopus are both redeeming factors but even those are very salty in places. I don’t be coming back any time soon.

(Translated by Google) Avoid this place if you are argentinian! Absolutely disappointed! The very sweet meat pie, pure dried plum inside. There is no bread! I asked for bread to accompany the meat and they told me that they didn't have ... if they knew how we eat the Argentines ... and the super spicy provoleta. The horrible meat, a lie that is roasted ... the cooks are not Argentinian, so the meat was hard and without the typical roast flavor ... it looked more like any grill (Original) Avoid this place if you are argentinian! Absolutely disappointed!
