REVIEW:
From
Carlton
Wine
Room's
instagram,
the
Anchovy
is
one
the
dishes
to
get.
On
a
long
thin
piece
of
fried
bread,
a
slim
piece
of
anchovy
and
a
piping
of
ricotta
is
laid.
Cute
rounds
of
cucumber
tops
it
off.
I
found
this
really
interesting!
I
haven't
had
anything
like
it
before
and
I
adored
it.
The
anchovy
isn't
overpowering
but
it
adds
a
subtle
umami
taste
to
every
moment.
Everything
worked
in
combination
to
give
minimal
bite
but
a
satisfying
taste.
Overall,
I
felt
like
their
dishes
were
a
great
way
to
try
European
food.
Without
being
constrained
by
one
European
cuisine,
they've
pulled
different
elements
together
(e.g.
Spanish
tapas
bread
and
anchovy,
French
Gribiche
sauce,
Italian
pasta
and
Stracciatella)
to
add
CWR's
special
twist.
However,
I
wasn't
particularly
blown
away
by
any
particular
dish.
I
felt
elements
of
surprise
and
everything
was
delicious
-
but
nothing
that
exceptional
or
noteworthy
for
me.
Service
upstairs
was
really
friendly.
Lots
of
warm
ambient
lighting
and
a
really
friendly
brown
haired
waitress.
She
was
great
and
very
sociable!
Everyone
who
came
to
give
food
to
our
table
was
quite
professional
and
personable
in
explaining
the
food.
I
had
a
great
time
at
CWR.
