Outstanding, as you’d expect and hope for at a restaurant of this calibre. Some of the best Japanese food I’ve had in Melbourne. Staff are extremely helpful, lovely and knowledgeable and the food is packed full of flavour. Quality is top tier here and the price is 100% justified. If you love raw fish, the Yellowtail is a MUST. Their cocktails are also so delicious, some of the best I’ve had. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a lunch or dinner at Nobu! You won’t regret it.

Nobu never disappoints. Came for a quick wedding anniversary lunch. The tenderness and flavours are so delicious. Cocktails were amazing. Have been here for a couple of dinners as well - highly recommend the miso cod! Pricing is very fair for its quality of food and this calibre of food.

First time experience at Nobu, heard so many good things. Just to be clear, the food is amazing! Super tasty. Tacos came out cold, which was unfortunate, but otherwise, everything was spot on, with plenty of flavour. The venue is nice, greeted with lovely staff. I feel like it’s due for a new look/renovation. Unfortunately the experience was spoiled by a mouse running around the restaurant. The manager, I believe, was lovely and apologised many times, and gave us a discount on our bill, but nevertheless, a mouse in a 5star restaurant, not good.

We had a such a pleasant experience at Nobu. Our waiter, Ron, was so knowledgable about the menu and recommended popular dishes, as it was our first time at Nobu, which did not disappoint. Our favourites for the night were the Miso Cod and the Baby Tiger Prawns - both are must haves. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the dimmed lighting made for a moody setting and there wasn't a spare seat in the restaurant, however it wasn't loud. Our booking was for 2 hours, but the staff did not ask us to leave after our sitting, we had the table for an extra half an hour until we were ready to leave. They couldn't have been more accommodating. All in all we had a great experience, highly recommend.

Food is pretty good - absolutely loved the black cod miso (must try) and the cute little wagyu tacos. Sashimi platter was really fresh too. Unfortunately, ambience was a total letdown, it was extremely hard to hold a simple conversation with others with loud diners around. Felt like I was at an outdoor fish market at times with all the noise.

Fantastic service and ambience. All dishes had the perfect balance of flavours and were presently extremely well. Highlight was the black cod miso and the spanner crab tacos! I was slightly disappointed with the sushi/sashimi, as it was quite similar to any other good quality Japanese restaurant, but a lot more expensive. The 2 hour sitting also felt a little rushed. Overall, a beautiful experience- would recommend.

It was soooo great that when my bf’s birthday came around we’re out of lockdown so that we could book a dinner at Nobu 🥰 We shared all of these dishes: 🦐 Nobu Style Seafood Ceviche 🍤 Prawn Tempura Rolls 🍣 Aburi Salmon & Tamagoyaki 🐟 Salmon Tartare with Caviar, Wasabi soy 🦪 Scallops with Wasabi Pepper Sauce 🥟 Wagyu Gyoza with Goma Ponzu 🍨 Mochi Ice creams We loved every single dish we tried! We could definitely tell the great quality of the ingredients they used and we loved the way the dishes presented also the combination of flavors in each meal. We didn’t really enjoy the wagyu gyoza though as we found that they were a bit too greasy and there wasn’t a lot of flavor to enjoy. My favorite was the Seafood Ceviche, it’s such a great appetizer that highlighted the freshness of the seafood and it got our taste buds ready for more meals to come 😋. My bf’s favorite was the Prawn Tempura Rolls cause he’s always obsessed with prawn tempura 😂 The mochi ice creams were amazing! We honestly didn’t know they were going to be that big that’s why we opted to try all their available flavors like chocolate, strawberry, matcha and red bean (not 100% sure about the flavors). Also, how nice were they to put a candle and birthday message?! 🥺 We do recommend for you to visit, we’re keen to try their lunch menu next time!

My wife and I had the 7 course Nobu omakase for our wedding anniversary and we enjoyed it thoroughly. All the dishes were fresh and each dish was presented uniquely which we loved to look at. The only criticism we had was the small portion sizes which for the amount we paid, thought they would be a little bigger. That being said, we enjoyed our meal thoroughly and Nobu even surprised us with a lovely dessert which we absolutely loved. Thank you Nobu!

I have been to Nobu in Melbourne before, albeit in 2015 and to Nobu in NYC and Malibu. This experience was very different to my prior ones. The food was good don’t get me wrong but I do feel for the price you pay there is a lot to be desired. Service was a quite disjointed. The presentation of food felt rushed and for the price it just didn’t sit right. But will stress food slapped, no complaints.

had dinner here last night. food was well plated and decorated but unfortunately the taste was not to my liking, it was either too much garlic or some kind of sauce. highly recommend the wagyu tacos, black cod, and sushi platter. the service was fantastic, waiters were very kind and professional. however atmosphere was too dark, could barely see my brother sitting next to me. spent over $1000 for an 8 person dinner, and i was still hungry. honestly worth it for the experience but probably won’t come back

We went to Nobu at Crown Melbourne for dinner recently to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday. We didn't have a booking but we went earlier, before 5 pm, and managed to get a table for 6 with a beautiful view of the Yarra river. The sun was still warm so it was nice to feel the heat flowing into the restaurant. For the 2 hours dinner we were there the service was exceptional. Gunawan, who was our waiter provided us with superb service ensuring that our every need is met. Nobu is fortunate to have an employee like him. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The wagyu tacos, creamy baby tiger prawns, tempura prawns, sushi rolls and assorted cups of sashimi, crispy soft shell crabs, crispy rice with tuna, grilled chicken wings and creamy spicy crabs were all really yummy. And because it was a birthday dinner, we also ordered some chocolates and ice cream, which were beautifully decorated wih a candle, and to top it off, we were given complimentary champagne for everyone and a box of chocolates. It was definitely an enjoyable dinner and evening at this premium restaurant. We were definitely be back for another celebration.

We came for a belated birthday dinner. We enjoyed the food here, the service was good too. We enjoyed our dinner and will be back soon. We had the: Beef Tataki $38 - delicious, flavour was immaculate Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna $36 - this was really good, the hot crispy rice and cold tuna go very well together 4 x Wagyu Taco $13ea - a flavour bomb in the mouth Black Cod Miso $65 - very fatty piece of fish, not overly sweet, very soft Short Rib $65 - super tender and soft, i loved it Cheesecake $21 - wasn't too sweet and was very nice Whisky Capuccino $15 - my favourite out of the two desserts, it just hits the spot

AMAZING FOOD! We have been to Nobu no less than 6 times. It's always been near perfect. Food is amazing here. You can pick any dish off the menu and it will come out better than you think. Miso cod is always the star, last 5-6years, nothing has changed, still AMAZING. Consistent 👍 Service is probably 4.5/5. Some of the staff have less experience but that is to be expected. My last visit, they did forget one of our dishes. BUT they served it to us in under 5mins with a sincere apology and took it off the bill. Not mad at all. Will continue to come back again and again!

A beautiful experience from start to finish. The staff was wonderful. They were knowledgeable and kind. We requested a quiet table and they came through with the perfect spot. The food was simply excellent. I was impressed as I didn’t expect it to live up the hype. It did. I walked away very happy.

Always wanted to try and I feel it is rated where it should be. It's not like the best but it's good and delicious, but you're paying for it. Food was a bit slow to come out but staff attentive and friendly with things like water or drinks. Nice interior and view sitting near the window. Had the Bento Box to just simplify choosing, great range of food in it and delicious. I do feel there's better Asian options in Melbourne, but I'd say you have to still try nobu once for the esteem. Id enjoyed my time and had a nice lunch.

Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review. We ordered 7 course signature meal. The first 3 courses were delivered in 1,5 hours. Everything was raw and no one told us about it. Not “fancy tasty raw”. Just raw. I am not a big fan of sushi 🍣 but sushi in this fancy place were a shopping centre level of quality in my opinion. A lot of miscommunication and forgotten things from the staff. Very slow service. We had to leave half way through after they brought 4th meal which was a cooked (finally!) fish but not tasty at all😖. Worst than $15 fish and chips in the average street shop. This was the moment we left. We were not after the refund of the $400 bill, but management offered and refunded a half of it. Very sad that such a well known brand offered such low quality. We had to go back to our hotel and order regular meals. I hope they will take this feedback on board and improve.

Located in Crown Casino Melbourne, The Nobu brand offers a wide range of Japanese cuisine 🎰! Nobu is renowned around the world for their highly skilled chefs turning sushi preparation into a feast of entertainment and deliciousness. 🍱 Nobu is perfect for any occasion that demands something out of the ordinary 💜. I have to admit Nobu is now definitely one my favourite restaurant chains 🤓! Overall, one of the best fine-dining experiences I've ever had! all the staff were so accommodating and friendly! 🧑🏻‍🍳Our waiter was very down-to-earth and experienced with his recommendations of what was the BEST things to order! service was average. dishes very inconsistent, really need to carefully choose your dish. I would not get the wagyu gyoza, squid pasta (it's just a salty stir fry). definitely NOT worth the price they charge

Wonderful night at Nobu, and on a Thursday too! Big credit to my waiter Johnny, a tall and friendly guy who was very attentive to every course of the meal. I had a spicy cream crab, eel and avocado sushi with chocolate fondant (green tea ice cream) for dessert washed down with cider, and loved every minute of it. Been to other restaurants in Crown, but Nobu is the one to trust! Ate downstairs too, first time experience in a great atmosphere. 5 stars, Nobu!

Spent my 26th birthday at Nobu Melbourne on the 12th of June 2023 where I dined at Nobu for the first time. Came home and immediately had food poisoning for 3 days straight with violent vomiting and excruciating stomach pangs. The worst case of food poisoning I've ever had in my entire life as it was from CONTAMINATED RAW SEAFOOD. Do not trust the chefs who prepare your food. Do not bother coming here unless you are interested in getting food poisoning.

ORDERED: 🥣  Miso soup ($8.00) 🌮 Salmon spicy taco ($8.00) 🌮 Wagyu beef taco ($13.00) 🍚  Crispy rice with spicy tuna ($36.00) 🍹  Mocktail ($13.00) My portion was priced at $73.00. REVIEW: This was my second time at Nobu. I wanted to try my highlights again, which consisted of the tacos and the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Unfortunately, tacos did not live up to the hype the second time around. With the rose coloured glasses taken off, I really noticed the small size. The salmon taco could've been spicier, and when the wagyu is sliced that small, I wasn't able to notice or appreciate its quality. I would pass on tacos the third time around. 🥲 Crispy rice is still delicious. The amazing rice cubes are still a feat to behold, with a process to dip into Nobu's soy sauce mixture, then to slather a generous amount of spicy tuna. 🐟 You get a solid 6 cubes and if you split with your dinner partner, you get 3 each. A perfect amount as a starter. Again, the tuna wasn't spicy to me but that is really its only fault. It's a good combination of umami flavour, and I enjoy the hands on approach to my food. 🤩 Had the friendliest service from our server James, who made us feel so welcome and that all our needs could be met. Such friendly, bubbly and engaging service! The environment is very classy, with pure professionalism from the team. Located in crown, it's a decent dinner choice but doesn't have the same glamour or WOW factor as the first time.  😭

Expensive but amazing food for a special occasion. Stand outs for us were the oysters, beef dumplings and truffle wagu. Attentive service and pretty busy especially at the bar downstairs watching food be prepared but the dark surrounds and wood add to the relaxed ambience.

came back to @nobuaustralia to try out their lunch menu 😙 we all ordered the signature bento box! im unsure of the mini dishes’ name in each section of the bento but ill try my best to describe them. 😊 the first one on the left is i think the pickled fish and veggies? it was pre yummy ngl and i rly liked how it was serve cold. 8/10 the next one was the 3 tuna sushis and 2 salmon sushi. super fresh fish which is what i expect from nobu and they delivered. 9/10 the next dish im actually unsure what meat this is, im guessing it was beef? either way, it was either raw or seared lightly but anyways it was pre okay but i preferred the salad underneath it a bit more. 7.5/10 the bottom left one is cooked veggies with rice. pre standard i could cook this at home. the veggies were cooked rly well though and i enjoyed the sauce it was cooked in. 8.3/10 the next dish was the soy seared whitefish? it was very yum. like probs one of my top favs of the bento itself because the fish was just seared so well and had a nice salty aftertaste. 9.2/10 the last dish was the creamy spicy shrimp. one of my fav dishes to order at nobu in a smaller version so it was amazing. super delicious spicy mayo and the prawns were cooked well. 9.5/10 i also ordered 2 salmon tacos! the salmon was really fresh and doused in a sort of mayo like sauce. the taco shell itself was super crispy and enjoyable to eat. i rate this a 8.7/10 😋 for the drink i got the apchee mocktail! pre yummy and it had a good amount of sweetness to it. the lychee on that stick thing was a nice touch! i rate this drink a 8.8/10 ☺️ overall, really enjoyable lunch and i would come back because the bento box is pre worth it and i would like to try other bento box too!

10/10 for Nobu! I had a wonderful experience here! Service was incredible especially the waitress with glasses (sorry I didn’t catch her name). Food were amazing. We had the 7 course Nobu Melbourne dinner omakase ($195pp). We enjoyed all the dishes very much. Fresh sashimi and Uni, though we hopes there would be a bit more uni. Shout out to our waiter, Orlando. Orlando was attentive, informative and introduced the food with genuine enthusiasm. Yet, he was not too bothersome during the service and does not interrupt customers too much. Thanks for the great service Orlando! We were so full at the end of the 7 course, could barely finish dessert.

We had a great experience, from arriving a bit early and having a great table ready for us, to the lovely desert gift we were given for our anniversary. one key was our waitress - Miranda M ordered everything for us, she knew every single GF items and after a quick chat knew what we would like. I eat out a fair bit, at good places, and she was a good or better than any I can think of. The service made it great, but the food was amazing also! absolutely perfect!

The cold plates were beautiful, as is the vibes and decor. The sushi maki, we felt was a little disappointing in regards to the lack of flavours of the seafood, especially for the price. Service was polite but quite transactional without any explanation on the menu or dishes.

The service from start to end was perfect, not too overbearing and not invisible. The food was incredible. We ordered the Omakase 6 course banquet and the journey for our taste buds was taste-bud tingling with every bite! The ambience was lovely, however white table cloths for an exclusive restaurant would up the ante.

If you're looking to spend a little more on a special occasion, Nobu has what you need. Pricey, but with beautiful lighting and atmosphere, polite and knowledgeable staff that can answer any questions (and are happy to), and well crafted dishes. We got the beef gyoza, umami chicken wings, Wagyu tacos, and on recommendation from our waitress Martha (thanks so much Martha), the crispy rice and tuna, which was our favourite thing. Pricey, but with the service provided, well earned.

  • 2/5 Cindy C. 2 years ago on Google
The crispy rice with spicy tuna was hands down the worst dish I’ve eaten. The cubes of crispy rice were virtually inedible and the tuna was anything but spicy. It was like a plate of expensive cat food. Steer completely clear of the Wagyu Beef Gyoza was the second worst dish I’ve eaten. The tuna tacos were amazing so if you must go stick to them.

One of the best birthday dinner ever! Everyone who served our table were so friendly and helpful ♥️ and oh yeah, the Dishes were delicious! we Met chef kei, his knowledge of fish was so good 😊 sashimi platter was “Nobu worthy”. It wasn’t a cheap casual dinner as we drank and ate a lot, but price per dish was reasonable for a casual lunch or dinner. Will definitely be back soon !

Absolutely loved the food, it is so much better than the Nobu in Sydney Barrangaroo! Since it was lunch time, we did A La Carte but I would recommend anyone to do the omakase for dinner. The food was very flavourful, between 4 adults, out of the 8 dishes we had, I highly recommend the following 4: 1. Wagyu tacos 2. Charred edamame 3. Short rib (this was so flavourful and tender! So much better than I was expecting it to be!) 4. Black bean white tooth (although the black bean was very subtle in flavour, the white tooth was cooked so well, it basically melts in your mouth)

We have eaten here many times. The food is always fantastic, especially the Black Cod with miso. The deserts are both delicious and so beautifully created. The only downside is depending on the day , service can be a bit off. Not consistently attentive as you would expect of a restaurant at this level.

Joshua was great! Very well informed and experienced in what he was doing. He did rush things sometimes and then come back to ask us again, but otherwise he was great! Food was exquisite, flavorful and so fresh! It all also came very quickly, which is great when you're starving! The seared salmon karashi sumiso was a personal favourite as it had a bit of a kick too! You can get all 3 sauces for the Baby Tiger Prawns for an extra $5, which was a good choice for us. The $150-$170 set menu prices can be adjusted a bit, but I think the a-la-carte is a good way to be within the same budget and you could still get a bottle of wine within the same price (p/p). Even with the restaurant fully packed, service remained effective.

Came here of course based on the recommendation from the 'world', so had high expectations but also I was slightly skeptical. From making the reservation, traffic was a bit crazy coming in, we nearly lost our table. Got in, got stuck in and off we went with the starters. The wagyu beef tacos are a must have. You can't come here and not have those, please! The popcorn prawns were a delight👀. Then for the mains the pork belly which was mehh, then the wagyu steak it was great but 1/3 of it was fat and the highlight was the rib. That beef rib was just too good, I didn't want it to end, it almost melted in your mouth. For a sweet ending, had the green tea lava cake, which was an acquired taste but the bitter tea taste faded after a few bites. It was busy so the service was here and there. I would definitely recommend a visit

Not much one for "chain" restaurants, it's taken me forever to get to Nobu here in Melbourne, as I figured it would be fairly overrated ... and it is a little. The menu is nice and extensive and the food is really good and fresh, but ever so slightly overpriced. Presentation is great and the staff are helpful in answering any questions you may have. I must say I never like in any restaurant that food comes out all at various times. Three out of the four of us were eating and the fourth was waiting forever for their main. We went to eat out together to EAT TOGETHER. It's a little frustrating, though I know it's the "trend" in many Japanese restaurants. Parts of the meal were incredibly rushed, and they take your plate away before you've even finished your mouthful at times, and that's a little overpowering; not a fan of that kind of speed service. It wasn't a relaxing meal. However ... the food itself is really good. We all enjoyed what we ordered They specifically asked if it was a special occasion when booking, and even made mention of it again at the front desk, but why, I don't know, as they didn't even offer a piece of fruit with a candle in it. Would I return? Probably. But I do know of other Japanese restaurants in Melbourne that I personally love more and are more reasonably priced and enjoyable.
