Randomly got a craving for Peking duck on a Friday night and I have been wanting to try Dahu. So glad I finally got to try it out. Nestled on level one of little Bourke and Russell, you might just miss this place. Seems like it's been a Melbourne institution for decades. The Peking duck was absolutely delicious and a great price. Nice to see the table service also. Overall the food was delicious and great portions for the price. Definitely recommend if you haven't been yet. I will definitely come back

It was one of the worst dining experiences in our lives. We were here on the first day of the 2023 Lunar New Year and had the set banquet for dinner at $58 per head, with the soup, fried rice, Peking duck etc. Every dish served were cold and tasteless, not to mention the service (they were probably overworked because it was Chinese New Year) the photo uploaded here shows the balance of food we had left before leaving! ⚠️⚠️⚠️Please do not come here at all. The food is probably pre-packed and reheated upon demand. Gordon Ramsay and Uncle Roger would have a field day here.

The banquet A set menu was delicious, the Peking duck was cooked to perfection, the waiter who attended to our table was very courteous, kind, helpful in navigating the menu and portion sizes (we would have over ordered otherwise!), and very attentive to detail. We were left full and the portions were just right for two people! The atmosphere is very nice and the decor and furnishings are authentically Chinese. Would definitely come here again!

I tried this place many years ago, the food was very average back then, therefore this time I didn’t bother to get camera ready and take photos. However, I’m so surprised today, the food is top quality. We ordered Peking duck, fish head soup, stir fry prawn and a few other dishes. Shared between 3 guys. Managed to finish all the food and then ordered deep fried ice cream. Was so yummy too. Today’s dinner really changed my view for this restaurant. Will bring my friend to try!

Our pick for Peking duck in Melbourne We’ve been coming here for years and can highly recommend it. The whole menu is great but the duck is the show stopper. The chef cuts the duck at your table and one duck is enough for 3-4 people, or two very greedy. Enjoy!

They definitely have a good chef. Every dish is so tasty and well prepared. It will become my goto restaurant in city for Chinese food. I am a Cantonese.

Had a very nice Gluten Free experience here. They have around 10 Gluten free items on the menu and they are marked GF. The management sounded confident about the matter and suggested me what i could eat. I could also have the duck, just not the sauce but they brought gf soy for me and instead of the traditional pancakes they brought me rice paper. I was happy with the food.

We almost walked past this beauty on the corner of Russell St! We ordered the banquet for 2 which comes with entree, soup, peking duck, 4 mains, and a dessert. The portions were generous and catered to two people. If you order with more people they adjust accordingly. The wait staff were efficient, friendly, and were professional even though it was very busy. The food came out in a timely manner and tasted great. It is a good place for a date or even for a large gathering. Highly recommend!

The pastry on our 3 dumpling dishes was undercooked. The pan fried dumplings weren't hot at all. The waitress was nice. The dining room was well overdue for decoration, painting and cleaning. As for the toilets, why did I go? I would think you could peel the grime off the doors. Get a bottle of Nifti and do some wiping ffs! Others seemed to be enjoying the duck.

What a nice place to dine in with friends! As someone who’s coming from Beijing, I have been always quite fond of Peking duck, however, there are rare places that you can find nearly authentic one. (Only Beijing has purely authentic ones as ducks are farmed differently there) Clearly, DaHu now is one of the places. All the dishes we ordered are full of flavour, I must say Service is superb: warm and attentive.

The GO TO place in Melbourne for authentic, delicious and crispy Peking Duck pancakes. The chef will carve the duck in front of you if you order the full size duck which is a fantastic experience. The serving are generous across the board, so make sure you come hungry! I highly recommend the white bate, incredibly crispy and well seasoned. Definitely a great experience!

If you love Peking duck and like making it yourself come here. We come here just to eat duck and a plate of veggies. Service was fantastic at lunch. Food reasonably priced. So glad it’s still open.

Good service, place is a little dirty and the food was ok. Quail and squid was overcooked. The dumplings were good though.

Thought we would try this place as others had lines out side waiting to get in. Good atmosphere, staff were great with taking orders. The main meal which we ordered sizzling garlic prawns looked great but the prawns were tasteless very watery. We also had the sizzling Mongolian beef. Very very chewy, was very slimy must have been the sodium bicarbonate still all over it. No flavour at all. Also ordered special fried rice which turned up 5 mins after the main meals arrived. Over all not a good experience here. Looking around at others and other meals were not being finished. Great service but the food perhaps might have been a off day for them. Would look else where.
