Very expensive! Food quality no where near where it should be to reflect the price. Presentation was nice but $220 for bruschetta, 2 steaks, 2 soft drinks and a salad. Steak was very chewy and had a lot of fat on it. Roughly 25% of the steak was fat. The bruschetta was basically tomatoes on bread, barely any dressing, no onions with a blob of cheese. The bread was soggy from the tomato juice not from flavouring. The service as abysmal, staff members were judging us because a had a baby with us and acted frustrated when we asked for a baby chair. Also the wait time was bad! We ordered our food at 2pm and didn't get our entree until 3.15pm. the mains didn't come out until 3.45pm.

Such a beautiful place and environment. This is an amazing restaurant to catch up with friends and family. Staff are one of the best points of this Italian restaurant. They are so friendly and helpful. Other than yummy and tasty foods, I fell in love with dishes shape and quality which made me enjoy better. Thank you 😊

Gradi has been the winner of the best Margarita Pizza for good reason, all dishes were well presented and really flavoursome, even the humble potatoes were next level. I don't normally sit for a 3 hour dinner but this was worth every minute.

Eliza the waitress at Gradi was kind, polite and professional. Even though she was busy, she made time to check in on my table regularly, and accommodated our requests. I love the authentic food, the awesome atmosphere and the courteous staff . It’s always a wonderfully memorable experience at Gradi Crown 💯

Despite a bit of confusion of the booking of 5 (3 adults, 2 kids) - either by call or walk-in reservations, perhaps due to the Crown private event held today for the entire restaurant or just the not so clear communication - had 3 different sayings on 3 occasions trying to book for a table for tonight. Anyway, was waiting for some time.. and as for the food reviews.. I’m not a meatlover, but their steak is not too bad.. I can finish it haha.. so I think it’s pretty decent. Pizza and pasta are yum! Nice ambience too.

Great service, fantastic pizza and other dishes! You must try the tiramisu and the 140 cheesy pizza! Parking is just at the Crown Complex. Highly recommended to reserve a table a few days ahead. It can get really busy!

Delicious Italian. Our table ate calamari, margarita pizza, a range of pastas and afogatos. Each dish was made with lovely ingredients, and tasted wonderful. We went on a Tuesday, and was glad we booked - the place was full by 630pm. Indoor and outdoor seating options. The restaurant was accessible.

I was hunting around for a good pizza joint in Melbourne and landed on Gradi at Crown. Ordered a margarita and a vesuvio pizza both did not disappoint. Seated near the kitchen as well which gave us a nice view of food being prepared. Service was fantastic as they made sure each item came out staggered to ensure food remained hot. Make sure you book a table in advance because there were lots of people waiting in line with no booking when we got there. Definitely will be coming back again.

Good atmosphere on a Friday night and the place is full. It felt and looked like they didn't have enough staff, our waitress was under the pump and hard to get her attention. The food is delicious as you would expect. Portion sizes are small for the price you pay, $40 for a pasta that left me feeling hungry. particularly the dessert, and at $19 a piece. I would recommend for the location, taste and atmosphere. Bookings required.

For a busy Saturday night, I was pleasantly surprised we did not wait long to be seated. The service was friendly and attentive. I thought it was one of the best gluten free pastas I've had in Melbourne. They also cooked my husband's steak rare, just the way he likes it. We also appreciated the effort placed into wishing us a happy anniversary. We will definitely be back.

$40 for cold wet topping-less pizza is what you get here. bad service and food in general. let alone the price. pizzas were cold within 5 minutes of being served. i dont understand why they wouldnt heat the plates to keep them warm for longer. they didnt just leave water on the table, i was left with an empty glass for the majority of the night. theyd refused to allow us to get pastas, it was either $40 pizza or a $80 set menu. one of our pizzas was wet, i think it was from. the ricotta cheese? they just didn't drain it? the waiter also missed my glass and poured water on my phone. and the restraunt is loud and full of kids running around. i could go on but, honestly go anywhere else for your own sanity.

Went here for lunch. It was busy but plenty of seats. We had margherita with extra beef , mozzarella, Boscaiola, ice cream and pavlova. There’s one size for pizza, can be shared but one can easily devour it if really hungry. The Boscaiola was really really delicious and so was the Margherita. The pavlova was tricky to eat. The meringue was hard I was worried the whole time that it might fly off to the next table! I wondered why I was given a fork and a spoon! I still give it a good mark because we had a good chuckle eating the pav me and my husband. All good tho, food presentation was superb, the pizzas were just top notch, service was great. We enjoyed our meal again at Gradi.

First time here so was happy to get a table without any bookings on a Tuesday night. Heard a lot about this place so we were really excited. The service was prompt and friendly. Nice atmosphere to dine and chat with friends. The pizza was good however the pastas were a bit bland. The pasta noodles all clumped together probably due to insufficient sauce to coat the pasta better. The portion sizes were small for the price but being small eaters, we were ok with that. Only wished the food was more flavourful. Bookings are highly recommended.

I enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant with the family. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us at the time. They were welcoming and despite being super busy and a large restaurant, their service was friendly and smooth. Not all the staff are knowledgable with the wine recommendations but they were happy to hail someone else who could help which I love that attitude. The food was served really quickly and of good quality. We had a great experience.Thank you.

Did the share menu and it was amazing! There was so much food, that we had to take some home. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to visit again.

Food were fine and the cocktails were exquisite. All meals were very filling, there were 6 of us but almost didn’t get to finish them all. The staffs are all very attentive and helpful. There was this staff that went above and beyond to our needs. Such a shame that we didn’t get to ask for his name. We took our newborn with us and were lucky enough to get a sit that’s a bit spacious. A bit pricey, but nonetheless a good dining experience.

High end pizza venue. All excellent quality ingredients and all dishes were top notch. Meatballs were fantastic and soft. The drinks menu is loaded with plenty of options. Highly recommend.

Night out with the family. The food and service was excellent considering the amount of people coming in and out of the restaurant. Highly recommend getting pizza. The lemon tart desert is also an excellent choice to cleanse the palate after all the heavy food. I paired the lemon tart with a well made flat white.

This place is really big and perfect for small celebrations of up to 20 people with a couple of small sectioned off areas. Their margherita pizza won the world's best pizza a few years ago. The dough is great although it's a little on the chewier side. The food in general is excellent but very expensive. Pasta are Al dente and the sauces seasoned well. Wouldn't recommend the salumi Board because nothing special for the price. Food - 8 Service - 8 Vibe - 10 Price - $$$$

Gradi at Crown didn't knock it out of the park for me 🏏 🍴Food was okay, 3 stars. The 🍕🍝🍟 pizza, meatballs and chips were enjoyed but did have higher expectations. 💰 Premium prices. 🍽 Nice luxury vibe, more kids than I expected (not an issue, just an observation) 📝 Booking recommend. 🤵 Staff appeared overwhelmed and unorganised. ------------- 🔄 Repeatability: Not sure if I'd come back sorry.

Excellent service and exceptional food. Plus, they looked after my gluten-free partner, providing her with gluten-free main meal and dessert. Highly recommend.

Great looking venue, lots of noise and people, just what you'd expect from a vibrant pizzeria, although the inside is a bit dark even during the day, going for the fine dining feel I suppose. Host was cold and dismissive, which was a disappointing start, not really even looking up from the desk to acknowledge us, and sending us off with a waiter to our table. As a hospitality professional I understand the pressures of service, but the host has to be welcoming and warm. The floor staff were great, though, and we had a few jokes and laughs with them. The food was very good, the hand made gnocchi and orrechiette very good dishes. The pizzas were good, albeit expensive. Dessert was the highlight, the tiramisu tart, gelato, and coffee cream exceptional. Overall a good experience. I probably won't be back in a hurry because of the pricing and my own ability to make pizza and pasta from scratch at home, but would definitely recommend.

Absolutely the best margarita pizza. Loved the burrata and mushroom pasta as well. Was not a big fan of the veggie loaded one (forgot the name)

Gradi always with the goods! Been here a few times & it's always great. We came on a busy Friday night & our waitress, Jessica, was so friendly & attentive even though she had a lot of people to look after. I had the gnocchi which looks so simple but was so rich & full of flavour. The people next to us had the carbonara and the margarita pizza which also looked very good. Will be trying that next time.

Really great experience here for dinner. We got the volcano focaccia and it was delicious and a fun presentation! The rest of the meal we got pasta and it was soooo yummy. Good size portion. A bit pricey but as expected for the location/brand.

Just went to Gradi tonight, No reservation just walked in on a Busy Saturday night. The Supervisor/Host was very accommodating from the start and was able to seat us within minutes which we were happy to wait even if not possible straightaway. Our Server was Luka and he was amazing. Tonight is my wife's Birthday and without mentioning anything he took care of every request with a smile and ease. I asked him last minute if they had any cakes out back and candles and they did was a surprise to my wife . The Food was amazing on top of the service. I ordered the Veal and the Mushroom sauce on top of it was 👌 definitely something I recommend. My wife ordered the Sirloin and asked for Medium Well and it was done to perfection. Great food and even better service. Thank you to the Gradi team for an awesome experience and thank you to Luka for looking after us tonight. If anyone sees this and is looking for a place to eat, try here. You won't regret it !! :)

Food - very good Service - ok but could improve a lot. Seems like they don't have enough staff to cater for this amount of seating Seating - tight, not much room to move around. They've cramped the entire place Booking - yes definitely book before you go

Fried calamari was good. Pizza was okay. But the pasta that we ordered, it wasn't great. It maybe a twist on Asian style sauce but it was oily and plain. I'm Asian so it wasn't up to my taste. Therefore, I felt like it wasn't worth the money even though the restaurant was set up elegantly and staff was super friendly.

Food of large variety, all delicious. Dishes that I've never heard of before. Quite a unique restaurant, definitely coming back. I'm not a big fan of alcohol but their cocktails were amazing, especially the zenzero. Even though it was hectic, the service was great.

Recently dined at this restaurant in a group of twenty four and must say this establishment at first glance ticked all the boxes and didn't fail in giving us a magnificent dining experience. Our waiter service was simply outstanding looking after us all and the quality of the food was second to none. I highly recommend this establishment for a fantastic dining experience.

It's not possible to fault the taste sensations which I experienced here. Pictured are two pizzas. The Ortolana and 154 cheese. The 154 cheese is a divine piece of work, so sumptuous and perfect. The PAPPARDELLE pasta was absolutely amazing tasting too. The prices here are high, each pizza or pasta around $40 so it's not sustainable to visit regularly unless you've high income or won lotto. But as a special occasion, and if you like Italian, I recommend it. The ambience is comfortable. The restaurant must be decked out in acoustically absorbent materials because there were no problems with shrill or other distracting sound. The deco looks and feels warm. The tables are spaced out tastefully and the service is impressive..

Gradi at Crown Melbourne is renowned for being a past winner of the World Pizza Championships, and they have multiple locations spread across Melbourne. We discovered this restaurant through guide websites and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The interior was surprisingly spacious, bustling with activity, which only enhanced the overall ambiance. As for the food, it was simply delightful! Our decision to try their world-famous pizza, which had earned them the prestigious title, turned out to be an excellent choice. The pizza was undoubtedly the best we have ever tasted. Thr bases are chewy and puffed up around the edges. The thin, crispy crust, characteristic of traditional Neapolitan style, was perfection. We also indulged in their seafood marinara pasta, which left us captivated with each and every bite. Additionally, we savored the zucchini flowers we started with; they were both scrumptious and satisfying. Our dining experience was made even more memorable by our hostess, Kimberly. She took exceptional care of us, displaying utmost professionalism, kindness, and a lovely demeanor. Her beautiful smile added a touch of warmth to the evening. If you find yourself in Melbourne, Gradi is an absolute must-visit.

Absolutely amazing food and drinks. We ate here for a work dinner, and it was the perfect atmosphere to catch up with the team. Great selection on the menu. The service was fantastic. The staff were attentive without being annoying in between conversations and quick to bring out food. However, they brought out entrees after mains.

I had a quick catch up lunch with a friend here, and we really enjoyed our meal. Both pastas that we ordered tasted really great, staffs were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely come back to try their pizzas next time.

The Margherita pizza was the clear winner among the things we ordered, although almost everything was delicious from the arancini balls to the linguini frutti de mare. The tartufo pizza was a bit disappointing as we found the Italian sausage a bit dry. And of all things to comment on, the pizzas with toppings weren’t properly cut and had to be basically ripped apart, even after we requested they be taken back to be cut more. It was difficult to get the attention of the staff, but I wouldn’t hold it against them considering they were so busy. I also enjoyed the Italian pickled chillis provided with the pizzas - it was refreshing and tangy, yet not too spicy.

Great pizza bases and focaccia, but needs vegan main options by default! They were out of vegan cheese apparently that night, so we had veggie pizza without cheese, but why is it so hard to put a few default vegan mains on the menu for those who want to eat food without the animal cruelty? The sparkling water here is a rip off too at $13 a bottle, and your waiters may just disappear without giving you a drinks menu! Venu is also very loud and could do with better sound muffling. At least it's got more options than most of Crown, which is really bad for vegans in general unfortunately!! Up your game Crown, it's 2023 and embarrassing how poor your restaurants cater to vegans!

We had a wonderful evening for my husband's belated birthday celebration. Even though the restaurant was understaffed, the staff that were there made us feel special, they were accomodating and even suggested a dessert for our 8 year old son! Our son loved the dessert btw!

I had never been to Gradi before so I was expecting it to be amazing as it’s always booked out. I must admit there was flavour in the food but the portions are very small… Myself being a girl I left the restraunt still hungry. I ordered the bolognese, it was yummy although almost a quarter of the serve I was expecting. For $38, I found it very over priced and small. I must mention myself and my partner had to call the waiters over to get service also. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant if you are hungry.

Was very excited after reading that the world best margharita originated from the chef or owner here. Went on Tuesday and had to wait 30 min for a table which was fine (so book ahead regardless of what day it is). Service was fine, and the atmosphere was really great and restaurant interior beautiful. Margharita🍕 3/5 Salad with peas and mint dressing🥬 2/5 Bruschetta 🍞🍅 2/5 Rib fillet steak 🥩 3/5 Food came out after around 15-20 minutes. Margharita seemed very average. A lot of cheese and falling apart. The crust was normal but nothing of what I was expecting. Salad with peas was very disappointing. I am a vego so chose that to also eat as a main and was expecting somehing pretty good for $18. It just looked like the salad mix from woolies and snow peas in it, not much taste at all. As a vego i was very sad about this 😅 Bruschette was a little bit better but again very much below expectation. $22 for two slices of bread with tamatoes and the tiniest bit of cheese? I was expecting a lot more from the description and price. I know it's an expensive restaursnt but the price should feel justified upon receiving the meal. Rib fillet looked alright but for $50 it was just steak, no sauce and no sides included! All the sides cost over 10$ even for chips which was just a bit ridiculous. My partner asked for sauce and they didn't have any available so he just ate the steak with mustard in the end. I wouldn't come back but can see why it is a great place for dinner and drinks on the weekend as there is a nice vibe. Hope they can improve on the food to match the quality and expectations on the restaurant brand and name.

Very convenient location, good atmosphere, the food is delicious. I like the Mojito drinks and Pizza. Just the dining time is limited and have to leave in a rush.

  • 3/5 Abhilash B. 6 months ago on Google
The food was good, but not much of an ambience given that the outside areas were inaccessible to us - " we can't seat you outside at this point'. Lots of spaces and it wasn't filled even at 30 percent throughout our lunch. The food is almost worth the cost! The flour less chocolate cake and the tiramisu I'd recommend. The pizzas are good too!

  • 4/5 Jim N. 5 months ago on Google
Decent Italian. Pizza was really good. And the fresh focaccia was amazing. Unfortunately the chilli mussels were extremely salty and the meatballs were average.
