The service is really poor, tables not level and small to comfortably hold even three pizzas. The pizza dough tasteless and as if that were not enough the dinner bill was topped up by an additional 10% because on Sunday, in any case restaurant to be avoided.

Atmosphere is lovely here but the food was left wanting. The pizza was slightly above average, some parts were flavourless and lukewarm, the presentation was definitely the only upside to the pizza. (If you want to see someone's face turn from happy smile to frown, definitely go for the pizza platter) The pasta was okay, again, lacked flavour, we had to ask for salt because we couldnt taste anything other than cheese. Calamari was crispy which was good but again, lacked flavour... (*facepalm*) Overall, it's okay. Good place for social event but average place for food. Can't really recommend

Food is always amazing here. They have lots of gluten free options and lots of Italian food to chose from. Anything you want, it's there! Drinks are good and there's even a bunch of share drinks that come in giant buckets!

The beef ribs they have were by far the best ever I've had, the meat was soft and melts right in the mouth, and the bbq sauce they place on top of the ribs was just amazing. We also had the pasta and pizza, and they were both pretty good the pizza's crust and toppings were done right. The only issue was that the prices were really high.

Extremely rude service. When we enquired about chips type & burger ingredients, were told straight up that it's like "McDonald cheeseburger and Mcdonalds fries". When in fact the chips were not as described. Very unprofessional. As for the food and it's cost, the pizza lacked flavour and was oily and very unappetising. The burger buns were falling apart which means either not fresh or stale. The chips were brown and tasted burnt. Seems like this business just relies on popularity and not quality.

I asked for a seafood dish to be gluten free and asked the waitress if the chef could not cook my meal with onion and garlic. She told me the chips were not gluten free so I said not to cook any then. My partner and my meals were slow to arrive but on delivery on inspection had slivers of garlic and the chips were there. I was disappointed as I sat there watching my partner eat as my meal was remade. It made the whole dining experience ruined for me. Constant waiter changes meant that not once did they say sorry for my wait or checked to see how long my food would be as they saw that I had no food and my partner were eating. Food took long to come out, and the chips arrived again that I did not order. What was sad was when a different waiter brought my food he said that the pasta that my partner ordered is coming when he had already eaten it. Lack of attention to detail. Food tasted good but by that stage my appetite was gone. When paying it would've been nice for an apology but instead was asked to give a positive review. Will not be going back as I don't have the confidence in having a better dining experience

If you are looking for authentic Italian pizza, then this isn't the place. It's fine for an Australian take on Italian food but definitely wouldn't recommend it for authtenic Italian experience. I also found the place a bit overrated given the number of great Italian restaurants in Melbourne.

This pizza place doesn't follow pure Italian recipes, but the taste of foods was good. Staff were polite and professional, and prices were reasonable. You can order one, two, or three meters pizza with different styles. I think one meter is pretty enough for 4 persons.

We have tried the pizza, pasta and dessert. All the mains are very up to standard, especially the seafood fettuccine. It’s one of the most delicious pastas that we have ever tried. The desserts are creative with its name, but it’s a bit too sweet. However, it’s one of the Italian restaurants you should try!

So despite my first experience at this restaurant which was so so, I ended up going for a second time in the same week 😁. On the first visit I was struggling with my server a bit, she had a bit of an asian accent and the music inside is waaay to loud. I tried to order the beef ribs and they told me they were out, so I took more time to review the menu and ordered chicken wings then she said they were out, then I was a bit annoyed because why couldn't she have told me from the start what they were out of? Then I ordered the lamb but wanted to upgrade to sweet potato fries instead of the regular and she said I couldn't do that. That's when I was like okay I am done with you, get me the manager. The manager was able to accommodate. One thing I noticed here in Australia, is that they are less flexible with order substitutions, which is really annoying, i mean why can't you replace regular fries with sweet potato fries and charge me the difference. I am ordering and paying for the food, at least make my meal enjoyable and don't force me to get something I don't want. Regardless the lamb wasn't really that good. Portion wise it was good, but it had a lot of fat and wasn't a fan of the bbq sauce. I got the bone in steak and wasn't a fan either! However what we have lucked with is the pizza, and that's the only reason I came back the second time which was the pizza, they have great variety on toppings and size. I also got a pasta, can't remember it was white sauce with chicken, wasn't a fan, didn't have a rich flavor. The fig salad however was really good, I recommend. Funny thing is the second time I went almost sat in the same place and got the same server!! But at least my order was easier and more forward.

Booking 5 people 1pm. Had to wait to be seated over 10 minutes, during that time different staff members walked past us 12 times. Yes 12 times (I counted)! Twice I got their attention only to be fobbed off. Eventually we were greeted and seated. We were there for friends birthday if we weren't I would have left. Very extensive menu, actually ridiculously long. 300 items I think. Shared warm olives, garlic bread and extra long mozzarella stick. Mains, spaghetti pachino (get it) napoli sauce, spaghetti marinara, penne pesto, meatball pizza and vegetarian pizza. Also side of chips and salad. OK so the menu had items with ridiculous names like pasta Frank Sinatra. The art was unbelievably bad think dire paintings grouping Italian pop culture icons together. The unisex toilets were a mess which call me crazy, I always find off-putting. Drinks were apple juice, coke, beer, red wine and Australian sparkling. Bizarrely only one Prosecco on offer but by the bottle. So an Italian restaurant with no Prosecco by the glass. All had a look at dessert menu which again was a ridiculous amount of choice. Only one of us ordered, ricotta cheesecake which unbelievably they didn't have. I think Crinitis is quite gimmicky with its decor and it also tries to be all things to all people (300 item menu). Restaurant would be better if they narrowed their food offerings, dropped the tackiness, cleaned the bathrooms and greeted people, who have actually booked, instead of ignoring them for over 10 minutes.

Criniti’s is ONE of my favourite Italian restaurants where I love to have Awesome Appetites at with my family and friends. The Pescatora Risotto was very delicious and I felt the seafood/rice ratio was on point. I also had the Steak & Rib Combo and felt like the Steak tasted dry. Having The Pescatora Risotto with the Steak & Rib Combo is a wonderful flavour combination, especially if you’re a rice boy like me! Overall, I would rate my experience here a 3 out of 5 because the staff was very inattentive and they had 1 of our orders wrong. For example, there were a few times where I had to get up and find a staff to ask for help without being noticed at all.

One young man greeted us, accommodated us, entertained and waited on us together with a young woman and then he was the barista as well.... Full of energy and enthusiasm. The food was great, but it was largely the gentleman in question -⭐️🌟 Lucas - who will bring us back for sure!!! Bravissimo! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 PS: Don’t miss out the calamari and baby octopus salad. It’s to die for. 🤤

We celebrated a birthday party last night, the service was overall good but the food was normal. Pizza was okay while The pasta was a little bit lower than the average. But they have a birthday package, will giving this dessert for free if you reach their min spending requirement. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. Maybe double check on their website

Popped in for a late night pizza fix on Good Friday. As is the common theme of all my visits service is lacking. Someone at the front asked us if we wanted a table and then just disappeared leaving us to navigate that ourselves. Another staff member came up and apologised and said she would seat us which was more like it. Delicious margherita and yummy chips. Public holiday surcharge which is to be expected but quite warm in the restaurant which wasn’t the greatest Further update Went back to Crinitis tonight against everyone’s better judgement but my own, they had not had a pleasant experience last time but vowed to give it one more shot. We definitely enjoyed ourselves on this occasion. I stuck with my tried and true gnocchi pesto and it did not disappoint. I’m not sure they are necessarily coverts but there were no complaints (thankfully as it was my restaurant pick). I just think you can’t beat it from an atmosphere perspective Update We dined at Criniti’s following a film at cinema nova which was most convenient. The place was absolutely packed but we managed to get a spot in the back. The space here is huge and our area was really funkily decorated (even the bathrooms are all decked out). The serves are definitely generous and reflect that Italian hospitality you expect of a restaurant near lygon st. Authenticity is a key component of their offerings with all the competition nearby. There is around ten varieties of pasta available and they are all handmade daily which is impressive. There is also something like twenty different types of sauce to select from so you are definitely spoilt for choice which is why I probably almost always stick with pesto gnocchi- it’s delicious. The only fault was it’s no longer in the entertainment book Original review I've been to Criniti's on numerous occasions in Sydney and after years of rumours that they were going to extend into Melbourne finally the Carlton branch arrived. Boy was I disappointed. The staff are actually horrendous, like beyond rude. Dishes we ordered never arrived, water was requested multiple times and failed to make an appearance and the waiter we had was completely unapologetic. Zero farks given. In saying that on this occasion I loved my gnocchi but others I was dining with were quite unimpressed. The menu appears to have expanded and they seem to have lost the execution with so many things on offer rather than focusing and specialising in fewer dishes. Three of the four I was with said they would not return so I think that's saying something.

the service was pretty good, really. order come pretty quickly, but feel like it’s a bit over priced though. chips was delicious, cheese on the pizza was chewy and tasteless, friend of mine love meatballs pasta , i had the lamb shank fettuccine, but it’s cold inside, like freezing cold , portion was generous. it’s good services cause they didn’t charge me for that.

I came here with a group of 10. Very nice restaurant inside with a perfectly lit setting. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had the halloumi chicken parmigiana with a side of fries. Other than the presentation being below average and not very appealing, the chicken was completely covered in halloumi (and potentially mixed with another cheese to melt), and tasted just okay. The chips were placed in an oversized bowl that shadowed the main and hid the tasteless vegetable sides. I think this popular dish could be greatly improved.. The menu was extremely impressive, but also overwhelming. The popcorn prawns were tasty. Thanks 🙏🏼

I booked for three via Google as it asked my choice of Google or Fork. I kept getting notifications from Fork. The place was awesome and dimly lit. We couldn’t read the ingredients of pizzas as the fonts was probably written in size 9. Pizza looked great. I can not say the same for its taste. The middle section of the 50cm pizza was soggy and had the taste of a dough. Wedges were probably crispy but the chef decided to place sour cream and the sweet chilli sauce on top of it. In a matter of 10 minutes, wedges had no crisp what so ever. If these additions were placed in small dipping ceramic bowls, their crisp could have been saved.

Nice place to go with friends or a date, Food was really good, we had a calzone and a rocket and apple salad , and it was an incredible combination, we try the summer aperol and it was not the best one, but then we try the melon aperol, and it was amazing!!! Perfect for this summer!!! At the end we get a free degustation of the limoncello, and omg for sure I’ll be back for more limoncello too the taste and everything was really good!!! Thanks Crinitis , will be back soon!!

Good vibes galore. Good prices meals and yummy cocktails. Everything was delicious and the vibes were amazing. I had the beef tortellini with burnt butter sage and truffle, felt rich! Quick service and friendly staff, considering it was a busy night.

Ordered the ‘lambo’ pizza and it was definitely not worth $28/$29… first they completely forgot my order and it came out after everyone was halfway through their meals and I had to ask again. When it came out, the pizza was really oily like literally dripping in oil. The other meals looked ok but definitely wouldn’t recommend this pizza.

Popular and busy restaurant on Carlton. Friendly and flexible staff. Lots seats indoor and outdoor. The menu has various Italian and Australian dishes, four different types of pizza's sizes available untill 2 meters, amazing! A bit expensive, however food was tasty and delicious. Great coffees too. Love the inside decoration and atmosphere, and the originilality of toilet sinks. Worth a try!

No Italian restaurant should ever be serving frozen arancini balls. They came out with ice blocks in the middle and they had to take them back. Luckily it was removed from the bill without question. This could be a great spot if they reduced their menu by more than half. Way too much on there and the quality was not there. Having said that, the 1 metre pizza was great and our waitress was friendly and chatty despite missing a glass and a plate.

Criniti’s is a great place for gatherings and party. Staffs will give u a memorable birthday celebration experience here (no spoilers). Their 1m 2m or 3m pizza is always a crowd pleaser.

Pretty good pizza and pasta. The pizza dough was nice and flavorful and the toppings were good. The pasta sauces were also nice but the pasta itself was a little overcooked. Service was good and responsive.

We were desperate for a pizza, and as many other places were closed at the start of the new year we ended up here. The positive thing first, both pizzas we had (Calabrese and Francesco) were of good quality and tasty. But overall the place is a little overpriced, the pizzas were $26 and $27, a 500 ml Peroni Beer was $15.90 and a large Coke was $14.90. Also the service was very unorganised and not attentive, there is clearly someone missing who is guiding the waiters. As a result several customers were sitting down and left again after a while, as they did not get the needed attention. Also we were surprised, we ended up receiving our bottled drinks without a glass, and our pizzas without cutlery and napkins. While we thought the waiters recognised it and are just leaving to bring it, we were mistaken and every time had to try a while to get their attention, and once we managed still had to wait several minutes for it to arrive rather than them resolving it straight away. And by the time we received our cutlery (see the pic of the fork) we recognised that obviously no one really pays attention to what they bring. Overall the pizzas would have made it 4*, but the service brought it down to 2*. Overall the prices and what you receive in return are not balanced, so this is something the management needs to look into.

A very very long list of items to choose from. Lots of choices for pastas, pizzas, burgers, steaks, ribs and so much more. The building and the decorations give it a warm and cozy feeling with lots of cool little decoratives to look at like signed jerseys. Portion for pastas is also pretty big! Overall had a great experience and will definitely come back for more.

Extremely overpriced average food. $36 for this dry grilled chicken and a few plain veggies... Chips are an additional $8 as well. Just another ok franchise.

Terrible night. Used to be a lot better - but the service and experience has definitely gone down hill. I brought my friends over hoping to show them how great Crinitis pizza was, but after: - waiting nearly an hour for the order; - constantly lied to on the order "coming in a few minutes"; - complaints made direct to the Manager, who's only response was "I'm sorry, it was a very busy night, everybody had to wait" It just absolutely missed the mark. I see many other similar complaints in recent posts, I regret not seeing the reviews dinner. When I pointed out that the Burger that my friend ordered was noticeably dry (and friend didn't even finish it), when shown to the Manager, he only responded with a very shallow apology and a mockingly asked question of "whats wrong?" after we told him it was dry. We came into the restaurant when people were all around us, and at the end we were the only ones left and the last to be served. All of this, according to the Manager, are "just part of a busy night".

Great location with ambient outdoor seating. As it was quite busy on a Monday night, our food took a while to be ready. The pizza was fantastic. We loved our bbq ribs. However, the grilled seafood platter was a disappointment as it was bland and tasted not as fresh as expected. All in all a good dining experience if you're looking for a place to hang out with friends afterwork.

The pizza was the standout as well as the calamari. The rest of the meal was average, the wine was also great. Our table was very wobbly and nearly knocked our drinks over a couple times. Overall will definitely be back for the metre long pizza and the calamari. Staff were friendly, the drinks ect took too long. Some of our entre’ arrived after our main.

Came here for an impromptu birthday dinner and came across the best sweet potato fries I’ve had in a long time. The food was really good and the gnocchi’s texture was very satisfying. We were able to get a table on short notice on a Thursday at 9 and the service was great. Highly recommended.
